Hi,
Did the issue happen only for one user or for multiple users?
If the issue happen only for one user, you can try to login on other well-worked computer with the issued Lync account to test the issue. You can also try to use another well-worked Lync account to login on the issued computer to test the issue.
If the issue happen for all Lync users, please also check if Lync Server 2013 update to the latest version.

  • Windows Phone 8 Lync 2013 will not sign in. Although Apple and Android mobility works fine.

    Hey everyone,
I have a fully functional Lync deployment as it seems so far. However, the only thing that refuses to connect successfully is the Windows phone 8 lync 2013 mobile app. It keeps getting the general "Can't sign in" error.
I've read that if the SAN lyncdiscover.domain.com does not exist on the certificate that is being used by the External Web Site, then this will happen. The cert I'm using is an internal published certificate from my internal CA, the SAN lyncdiscover.domain.com
    and lyncdiscoverinternal.domain.com is added.
My public cert on the RP / public facing side of the Edge is a go daddy cert. This cert does NOT have the lyncdiscover / lyncdiscoverinternal SANs added to it. I am currently unable to get my manager to purchase a new cert with this included because this
Lync deployment is really just for testing and there is no point in buying a new cert just for this one piece.
So in result, I am forcing the lyncdiscover to fail over to HTTP 80 traffic instead of 443; and this works great. My Android and iOS clients are able to connect fine but every windows phone in my environment are not working.
I have tried turning off auto-detect server and manually putting in
    https://lync.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscoverservice.svc/root
as the internal and external addresses on the phone settings, but this does not work either.
I am running the latest updates from the January 2014 update on my servers.
When I turn logging on within the device, I repeatedly see these errors in the logs:
ERROR UTILITIES CHttpConnection.cpp/1113:Request failed with the WININET errorCode (UcwaAutoDiscoveryRequest): -2147467260
ERROR TRANSPORT CMetaDataManager.cpp/591:Unable to get a response to an unauthenticated get to url https://lync.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscoverservice.svc/root/user?originaldomain=domain.com
Now, this may or may not be normal due to me forcing the lyncdiscover to fail over to HTTP 80.
If anyone has any ideas or needs any more information please let me know.

Please check the Authentication Delegation is set to No delegation, but client may authenticate directly when you create a web server publishing for Lync Server Web Service.

  • Auto logout or disconnect of Lync 2013 client after inactivity

Is there any way to configure the Registry or perhaps a GPO so that Lync 2013 clients running on Windows 7 will auto logout or disconnect from the server if they have been inactive after a certain amount of time? Searched around and could not find anything.
I found the link below but it uses Preferences which have undesirable side affects.
    http://unifiedme.co.uk/2014/01/lync-2013-group-policy-enforce-ringtones-centrally/

    Hi,
There is no method naturally to auto logout of Lync 2013 after inactivity. You may need to configure auto-logoff Windows after idle time to log off the Lync can check
the thread below to configure auto-logoff Windows:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/2d618fdb-faf7-41a1-9207-ff07b8d29091/how-to-automatically-log-off-idle-users?forum=winserversecurity#c7c21990-73b4-41ac-a9b5-4d571372ec10
Or you may need to custom your own Lync client, you can post the question on MSDN Lync SDK forum. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Excel 2013 hangs after sharing document per email

    Hello everyone.
We have an issue with Outlook 2013.
If you disable local email caching in Outlook 2013 and you are trying to share a document via email in e.g. Excel (but also Acrobat reader and several other programs) the email gets send, but Excel hangs (not responding).
When you enable the local cache the problem disappears.
This is an issue for us, since we are using ssd's with limited capacity and the cache file can increase untill somewhere between 25 and 30 GB.
Is there a different solution to this issue? And why is this happening in the first place?

    Hi,
Try to test whether the issue will occur to all the computers. If not, then try to repair and disable all the add-ins to check the issue.

  • Lync 2013 client installation using SCCM

    Hi everyone,
I have been performed Office 2013 installation in my domain. For this puprpose, I used SCCM 2007 R3.
At the beginning I customized this installation using OCT. I have excluded Lync from my Office 2013 distribution package, because we use Communicator Server 2007. Afterwards, I found that it is possible to use Lync 2013 with OCS 2007: http://www.technipages.com/lync-2013-fix-cannot-sign-in-because-the-server-version-is-incompatible-with-microsoft-lync-error.html
How can I silently deploy Lync on workstations, which already have received Office 2013 without Lync? If I simply  try  to add Lync feature in my package using OCT, silent installation stops on "Add/remove/repair components..." (which,
we, of course, cannot see during a silent setup).

You could utilize Config.xml to deploy Lync client. This will make installation silently.

    Hi Juke,
Thanks for you answer. But actually not all is clear for me. In this article, I can see this:
"By default, the Config.xml file that is stored in the core product folder (for example, \product.WW) directs Setup to install that product. For example, the Config.xml file in the following folder installs Lync 2013:
    \\server\share\Lync15\Lync.WW \Config.xml"
But in my Office 2013 installation folder, the Lync.WW folder does not exist.
Should I create it (and Config.xml too) manually? Can I remove other folders like Excel, Word from Office2013 installation folder?

  • MS Lync 2013 federation with Cisco CUP 8.6

    Hi all,
I am currently trying to federate CUPS 8.6 with MS Lync 2013.
After a lot of certificate issues we finally got a one-way IM from CUPS to Lync. I can't get Presence in either direction or send an IM from Lync to CUPS user.
I have followed the Cisco guide for inter-domain federation within an enterprise. so no edge server or Cisco ASA involved.
The error message I am seeing on the Lync side is:
    ms-diagnostics:
1010;reason="Certificate trust with another server could not be established";ErrorType="Refer to HRESULT code for specific security status";tls-target="CUP-A.cupdomain.co.uk";HRESULT="0x80090326(SEC_E_ILLEGAL_MESSAGE)";source="LCT-LYNCFE01.lyncdomain.net"
On the CUP side I can see the TLS session being dropped with this error message:
    17:22:58.945 |[Wed Apr 23 17:22:58 2014] PID(24295) sip_tls_verify_callback: TLS protocol error(ssl reason code=(null) [0]),lib=(null) [0],fun=(null) [0], errno=0

On the cisco side I have only set a TLS Peer as the LYNCPOOL server. do I need to set up a TLS Peer for all of the Lync Servers?
The lyncpool server has client and server enhanced key usage - do I need to reissue the certs with this for ALL servers in the lync cluster?
It seems like TLS will neogotiate successfully using the LYNCPOOL server but not with any of the other servers. Must be missing something simple.
    Many thanks for advice.
    Regards
    Lee.

    Hi,
Please double check the listen port of Lync Server.
In the Lync Server Management Shell enter the following command to verify the current system configuration: Get-CSRegistrarConfiguration

  • Unable to connect as a formal agent to a Response Group after Migration to Lync 2013

We are in the process of migrating our Lync 2010 servers to Lync 2013. Everything seems to go well, but problems started to appear after we migrated the Lync 2010 response groups to Lync 2013. Now only those groups with informal agents work. All the groups
with formal agent, when they try select their group through the web page, they all get the error:
You are not a member of any group. For assistance, contact your support team"
Did anyone experience such an issue ?
    Thanks,
    Antonio

We had this problem with our recent migration of c. 350 response groups, many of which had formal agent groups. The cause appears to be that after the migration, the formal agent registration screen sees both the 'old' and the 'new' formal agent groups of
which the current user is a member and resolves these to only one entry on the registration screen (which is understandable). But the entry seems to be connected to the 'old' and not the 'new' agent group. We were able to verify this by checking in the old
and new pool database (rgsdyn) and seeing that even after the migration the formal agents were signing in to the old pool and not the new one. One solution is to delete the members from the old formal agent groups so that future registrations are forced to
take place  in the new pool database. However, if you do this, bear in mind that if you have to back out the migration, you have to restore these.
We were also had to abandon one migration attempt because of another problem where the migration tool does not support the migration of agents who are defined indirectly in the agent group through a mail distribution group.

  • Lync 2013 mobile sign in error

I try sign in to Lync in my Windows Phone, and get error - Check my password. My password correct. For diagnose I enable "Failed Request Tracing Rules" on IIS on Lync 2013 Server and view only one warning from DirectoryListingModule - HttpStatus
403 Forbidden. I try reinstall web components on Server but no relult. How I can fix this?
    If I create file "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2013\Web Components\External Website\default.aspx", I view blank page for

If I enable Directory Browsing for Lync Server External Web Site, I view folder content for
https://lyncdiscover.mydomain.com and in "Failed Request Tracing Logs" I see OCSAuthModule - HttpStatus 401 Unauthorized

    Hi,
The error message indicate the client is having an issue authenticating with Lync Server 2013. Please double check that Authentication Delegation is verified on the reverse proxy publishing rule configuration.
Client may authenticate directly. If the reverse proxy publishing rules are set to No delegate and client cannot authenticate directly, it fails to sign-in when it reaches the step to provide credentials to request a token after MEX retrieval.
More details you can refer to the link below, it is for Lync server 2010 but similar for Lync server 2013:

  • Lync 2013 updating databases after updating Front End servers

We have a front-end server pool consisting of 3 Lync 2013 servers and a back end of 2 SQL servers using SQL mirroring.  All servers are Windows 2008 R2.
    Following the instructions in
http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/2809243 , I verified that the servers were all ready for updates, then I ran the
Stop-CsWindowsService -Graceful cmdlet to stop the Lync services on the first FE server, then I ran LyncServerUpdateInstaller.exe to install the updates.  After the updates were installed, I restarted the server, waited for Lync services
to all start, then repeated the process on the next 2 servers in turn.  This was all successful.
I am now looking at step 2 in this document, applying the back-end database updates, and I have a problem and some questions.  The problem is that all the databases had the principal copy on the mirrored SQL server.  I ran the recommended Invoke-CsDatabaseFailover
-NewPrincipal Primary cmdlet repeatedly, using all the database types I could find, but I still have two databases (database names
xds and lis) on the mirrored server.  Since the cmdlet requires a database type, what type of databases are the xds and the lis databases?
Once I get that done, I an still unsure of exactly what to run to update the databases.  The KB article states to run Install-CsDatabase -ConfiguredDatabases -SqlServerFqdn FEBE.FQDN -Verbose .  Do I type this in exactly
as stated, or is FEBE.FQDN a variable for our SQL server or some other entity in our environment?  If I do use the actual SQL Server name in that, do I run it twice, using the name of the mirrored SQL server the second time?
Thank you very much for your help.

    Hi Logan Burt,
    Central Management store database files
    Data file or log purpose
                    Xds.ldf
Transaction log file for the Central Management store
                    Xds.mdf
Maintains the configuration of the current Lync Server 2013 topology, as defined and published by Topology Builder
                    Lis.mdf
    Location Information service data file
                    Lis.ldf
Transaction log for the Location Information service data file
And you could verify if Lync Server 2013 database updates have completed successfully.

  • Iphone and ipad Lync Client Randomly cannot sign in to Lync 2013 Server

I have a Lync 2013 environment that will allow all clients to connect from inside and outside of the network except for ios devices. iOS devices are sometimes able to connect and sometimes not. When they are not able to sign in they receive a message stating,
"An Error Occurred in Lync. Please retry. If the problem persists, contact your support department"
I have run tests using the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer and all tests come back green.  I have also used the Lync Connectivity Analyzer and get the results below:

Starting tests for Mobility (UCWA) service
Completed tests for Mobility (UCWA) service
Your deployment meets the minimum requirements for Lync Mobile 2013 App.
Anyone have any suggestions on where to go next?  Troubleshooting an intermittent connection issue that only affects one mobile platform is tough...especially when all the testing tools say everything is configured correctly :)
    Thanks in advance!
    Tom

I have the same problem, and we have netscaller as revrse proxy solution and we have the required records created for mobility.
with lync2010 mobility it is working fine, but with lync 2013 mobiltity we have intermittent issue with error e2-3-33 error
    raghu
I had the same problem (e2-3-33 on mobile devices at random times) and it turns out it was McAfee antivirus causing the UCWA service to crash repeatedly. The workaround for it is outlined in the below blog entry I found as well as the below Microsoft document.
Long story short you want to run  follow the steps outlined in the workaround section below (I copied it from the linked MSFT document)
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2997513
    http://lynclounge.blogspot.com/2014/07/lync-mobility-issues-event-ids-1309.html
    WORKAROUND
he following procedures must be performed on all Lync Server 2013 FE server and Director Lync 2013 server roles. To
perform these procedures, first open a command prompt as an administrator.
    Windows Server 2008 R2
On the Start menu, type cmd.exe in the Windows search feature, and then press Enter.
Right-click cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator.
    Windows Server 2012
Press the Windows key to access the Start page.
Use the Windows search feature to locate cmd.exe.
Right-click cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator.
In the Command Prompt window, follow these steps:
Navigate to the %install drive%:\Windows\System32\inetsrv> directory prompt.
Enter the following command, and then press Enter:
    appcmd set config /section:applicationPools /[name='LyncUcwa'].recycling.disallowOverlappingRotation:true
Enter the following command, and then press Enter:
    appcmd set config /section:applicationPools /[name='LyncUcwa'].processModel.shutdownTimeLimit:0.00:00:30
To confirm the changes from steps 2–3, enter the following command, and then press Enter:
    appcmd list apppools lyncucwa /config
The following information should be returned to the console to confirm the update to the LyncUcwa application pool
    settings:
    <add name="LyncUcwa" autoStart="true" managedRuntimeVersion="v4.0" managedPipelneMode="Integrated" startMode="AlwaysRunning">
    <processModel identityType="NetworkService" idleTimeout="00:00:00" shutdownTieLimit="00:00:30" />
    <recycling disallowOverlappingRotation="true">

  • Office 2010 MUI in Finnish and Save and Send function not working after upgrading to Lync 2013 MUI

Problem is as follows. Used to have Office 2010, Outlook 2010 and Lync 2010, everything was working. People used it in Finnish and seemly quite a many of them used the Talleta ja lähetä (Save and Send in Finnish) in Office products.
After upgrading Lync to 2013 version, with Finnish language pack installed with it, the Save and send does not work in Office 2010 if it is used with Finnish as display language. When you try to use it you get a Mapi error and reason is undefined or something,
hard to say what it is exactly in english as the error message is in finnish. On those machines if the display language is changed back to english the Save and send works as it should.
    Any ideas?

The problem was caused by the Language Packs for Lync 2013 or Office 2013. Without them all works.
And if you want to just unisntall the 2013 lang packs, then you also need to repair install the office 2010 ones to make it work again.

AS Title said. I has deployed Lync 2013 Mobility. Now I got very strange things. First, I can sign in with Lync 2013 App Android 5.3.1100 and its fully functional(IM,Audio,Video). But when I update to Lync 2013 App Android 5.4.1106. I can't sign in.
No any Error message on screen. Even checked Android log. Still can't understand what happend.
My Lync environment is not using Public Cert. But if working fine with Private Cert on Lync 2013 App Android 5.3 version should be fine on Lync 2013 App Android 5.4 version.

  • Exchange 2013 SP1 Object is corrupted and inconsistent state after Lync 2013 Installation

    Hi Fellows,
I am facing an issue with Exchange 2013 SP1 (5.0.847.32)
environment. I recently installed Lync 2013 (version: 5.0.8308.0) a week ago and just recently start getting the below error when configuring delegation or modifying the users/groups from Exchange Control Panel:
"The Object <object DN> has been corrupted, and it's in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors happened:
The access control defines the ObjectType <object guid> that can't be resolved.."
I can see some forum threads with same issue (links given below) but unable to find if this is a known issue and how to get it resolved. Need assistance if anyone has faced same and could help me out to figure it.

    Hi
Usually the affected SID objects are referring to deleted objects.
Use the PsGetSid tool to try to resolve them.

  • Lync 2013 Office 365 - Can't Sign in

    Hi,
Using Office 365 and Lync 2013.
Windows 7 64bit machine (New) Only built a couple of days ago.
I keep getting the following error
I have 2 machines next to eachother, one works perfect with Lync and signs in fine, the other does not and gets the erro above.
I also have another 3 newly built machines and they are having exactly the same issue.
When I get this message there is an Event as follows
The description for Event ID 0 from source MSOIDSVC.EXE cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
InitializeSvcAPI failed with hr = 0x80048883
I can sign into Office 365 fine, and use all the funcationality.
    I have tried the following
    Reimage machine - No Success
Uninstall office 2013 - No Success
Removed By licence from Office 365 - No Success
Tried loggin in using the local admin account rather than Domain - No success
I have also tried installing the Microsoft Online Services Sign-in Assistant - No Success
As you can probably tell, im not having much success.
    Any Ideas?

    Hi there,
It really sounds like network connectivity issues, like firewall or DNS.
Have you tried to connect the clients from another network?
Additionally, have you been trough this help document?
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/lync-help/troubleshooting-lync-online-sign-in-errors-administrators-HA102892879.aspx
There is also a KB with a lot of resources for troubleshooting Lync Online sign-in issues
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2541980/en
    Best of luck :)

  • Lync 2013 for iPad & Windows Mobile Sign in Issue

    Hi,
I hope someone can help with a very frustrating issue I'm having with Lync 2013 on iOS & Windows Mobile - it won't sign in with an error message saying 'We can't sign you in. Please check your account info and try again'
I know my account info is right as I use it to sign in to the desktop client when working remotely, and it also works fine on an Android client.
The Lync remote connectivity analyser passes all the tests, I can get to the xml file using https://lyncdiscover.domain.org/autodiscover/autodiscoverservice.svc/root from a laptop, but from the iPad it's just a blank screen.
I've tried using auto detect, and entering details manually, but still no luck. I'm completely stumped. I've trawled blogs, form posts etc, but nothing. HELP!!!
Some details - we have a FE server, and an Edge Server, both running Lync 2013 with latest updates. We use nGinX as the RP and that all seems to be fine. It just doesn't want to authenticate me (or anyone else).
See below part of log file from my iPad that shows an error on the FE server.

Did the sip address name match with User Principle Name?
If not, when you enter the login information please also populate the Username filed using the format domainusername and test again.
Here is a blog may help you, it is for Lync server 2010 but similar for Lync server 2013:
