Lync 2013 - We didn't find an audio device

Hi,
I have done all troubleshooting but while opening Lync 2013, it's showing no audio device is available.
Both speakers and mic are working fine in laptop.

Hi Rahul Mallaiya,
This is a very common problem, and there're so many reasons can cause this problem.
There are several common situations:
1. Compatible problem
Try to use the qualified device for Lync.
2. Drivers related problem
Try to update the drivers of your device(include BIOS)
3. Software related problem
Maybe some similar software as Lync installed on your device, you could try to uninstall the software.
4. other
 related problems
USB hub related problem, you could refer to the following thread.
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/30ec9d70-2cca-40be-b9dc-be7763e3530a/lync-2013-client-no-audio-device-detected
Also please take your Lync client up to date.
Hope it
can be helpful.
Best regards,
Eric

  • Lync 2013 "Setup can't find or validate an installation file...."

    Enterprise client installation.
    We're running Windows 7 32bit SP2, Office 2010 32bit SP2.
Attempting to run the install for Lync 2013 (32-bit) on a test system and get the following warning immediately:
"Setup can't find or validate an installation file.  Please try installing Office from your installation source, or if you installed from a downloaded package, please re-download and re-install....."
The source Lync 2013 file is direct from MVLS.
Any reason why this install from MVLS refuses to run from the source?  Obviously, Lync 2013 wasn't included with Office 2010, so re-installing Office won't resolve this issue.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
It may also cause by the issue of the conflict with other software, please use clean boot to test the issue. In this mode install Lync 2013 file again.
You can refer to the link of “How to perform a clean boot in Windows”:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
If the issue persists, please also try to download Lync 2013 file and install again.

  • Could not find supported audio device in AA3

okay so i know its not a good idea to use AA3 with Vista...but other people are doing it so why can't I? I've seen the topic posted before but the threads are pretty much dead and I still have no helpful info. I've scoured this thing with no affective solution. I've installed AA3 on several systems in the past and never had this much trouble--if any. This problem has gone on for over 2 months now!
Since I installed AA3 on my new computer all i can get and all i have ever gotten is the "AA could not find a supported audio device. Please check device settings" dialog--
press okay (or x) and Audition closes---never getting past the loading window --during "initalizing required components"
I have 3 audio devices/ with up to date drivers which all my other audio programs recognize (Audition 1.5, Sonor, Cubase + more) with no problem whatsoever--
    AA3
    Windows Vista SP1 64 bit
    Realtek HD Audio
+ Presonus FP10 digital firewire interface/preamp (kind of unrelated but aa3 still wont recognize it either apparently)
I have installed all updates including the 64-bit SP1 fix for AA3.
I've read the Realtek HD issue solutions and made sure my drivers are fine.
    IM DESPERATE----PLEASE!!!
I'm having a recording studio built right now & AA3 is my main DAW so this is rather dire.---All the other DAW's i've tried suck compared to AA3 (with the exception of stability). hehe AA3 is always crashing on me and yet i still prefer it over other DAW's.

I put the PreSonus StudiLive 16.4.2 plus Adobe Audition 3 setup instructions into a short write-up on my blog: Live Event Multitrack Audio Capture
Here is a photo showing how to set up the Firewire channels for input and output
    I hope this helps:

  • Win XP finds no audio device after installing Audigy 2

After installing Audigy 2 ZS, my Windows XP could no longer identify an audio device. Under Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices, clicking on the Audio tab, there is no Default Device for playback or whatsoever.
However, under the Hardware tab, Audigy 2 ZS is visible and seems to work fine. The only suspicious part I caught is that when I check for Properties of Audigy 2 ZS and go down to check Properties of Creative Audigy Audio Processor (WDM), the status shows "The di'ver is enabled but has not been started." I have no idea how this can be fixed.
The integrated sound card is turned off in the BIOS.
I've tried all possible ways to install, uninstall, install..., but just couldn't get XP to work properly. Any other possible solutions out there?
    Many thanks!

Solved after reinstalling Win XP. Wasted too much time on trying other possible solutions.
Hope other people may learn something out of it.

  • Macbook pro can't find the audio device

Lately I have been having trouble with the audio. The sound doesn't work on the Macbook, and it can't seem to find any devices!
I tried plugging in headphones, but nothing helped.
In the time leading up to this fault, the sound in the mini jack was very poor, and sounded really bad.
When I plug my TV to the computer, by HDMI, I works fine. Even with sound.
    Any suggestions?
Oh, and I can't adjust the sound - it simply tells me that there is no device.

I've tried that, and I can't choose anything.
As I said, it can't find any devices. Tried to Reset SMC and PRAM - non helped

  • Lync 2013 client not finding audio device

I've got a problem with the Lync 2013 client on Windows 7 x64 Ent that's  giving me a real headache, please help!
It's the 32-bit version (15.0.4535.1002) downloaded with Office 365 Pro Plus and it's refusing to pick up my USB headset/microphone - a Plantronics Blackwire C320-M. The message I get in Lync Tools|Audio Device is "We didn't find an audio device,
    which you need for calling"
First and foremost, the device is working with the Lync 2010 64-bit client without issue
(I've not yet de-installed it) and is showing as working correctly in my Device Manager.
I'm aware of a few similar threads here and elsewhere where this has been seen, so I've tried the following advice:
    1. Tried a different Headset (Plantronics C310-M)
    2. Installed all MS Office 2013 updates
    3. Reset all Generic USB and USB Root Hubs listed in Device Manager USB Controllers
    4. Disabled "Allow the computer to turn of this device to save power" for each of the above USB Controllers
    5. Uninstalled and reinstalled USB controllers above
    6. Removed old/stale USB drivers using 3rd party tool (USBDView)
    7. Multiple restarts of my HP Compaq Pro 6300 Micro Tower PC!
None of the above has made any difference. Any helpful suggestions very gratefully received!
    Thanks
    Paul

    Update:
Whilst browsing through the Windows App Event Log, I found these two entries:
    Log Name: Application
    Event ID: 1
    Source: Lync
The description for Event ID 1 from source Lync cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

The description for Event ID 12 from source Lync cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
    Lync
I tried both a "Repair" and "Online Repair" in Control Panel | Programs and Features | Office 365 Pro Plus. The events still appear when starting Lync 2013.

  • No audio device detected - Lync 2013 Client

I have a brand new Dell Latitude E6430 laptop running Windows 7 x64 SP1.  I installed Office 2013, including the Lync 2013 client.  We are running Lync 2013 server as well.  I have connected three different audio devices.
    Polycom CX600 phone.
    Plantronics Bluetooth headset.
Logitech Video Camera  (The video on this works with Lync but no audio)
I cannot get Lync to recognize either of them.  I can see them as devices in Windows but within Lync I only get a screen that says "We didn't find an audio device, which you need for calling".  Does anyone have any idea on how to resolve this issue?
It is driving me crazy.  Especially since it worked perfectly on my old laptop that had the same OS and patches, etc...
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Jamie

Had the same issue.  For me it required uninstalling the Intel Widi device from device manager.  I think it was titled "wiusb" or something similar.  It was in its own group in device manager.  After uninstalling that, Lync would then
    recognize my mic/speakers again.
I had the exact same problem as everyone else.  I purchased two Dell Latitude E6530 laptops with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.  Both laptops had the issue.  I uninstalled the WIUSB devices, restarted Lync, and Lync suddenly is able to detect devices...
I refreshed device manager to see if the devices would auto-install again... but there weren't detected again.
    William Christenson
This worked for me as well. Uninstalled the WIUSB and WIUSB Host Controller which was present under its own group, Exit Lync process and started again, it detected the Sound Devices again. Definitely a driver conflict but it was quick resolution to uninstall
and get it working. No other issues with user as far as another device stopped working due to uninstallation of the devices.
It does not look like any driver conflicts, all other software detects audio device perfectly (Skype, Recorder, softphone, Lync 2010 etc.), but only Lync 2013 client keeps saying ""we didn't find an audio device". it appears the faulty in Lync 2013 client

  • Elitebook 2540p Motherboard changed. Integrated motherboard IDT audio device missing in windows 7.

    Hi,
     Old situation:
(I recently changed motherboard for my computer Elitebook 2540p. When i installed windows 7 to my computer the computer doesn't list any audio devices in device manager page. I've checked bios for any faulty settings and they are all set right. Theres no yellow marks in device list either and all drivers seems to be installed.)
    New situation:
Installed windows 7 again and computer found / installed audio devices normally. I tested computer for hours to play audio from it and everything worked fine. I restarted computer several times / re installed battery to the computer. On one restart the computers audio quick mute button below the screen appeared to be orange and the sound speaker icon in windows was marked as X. I check device list again from device manager and there was no audio devices listed (No sound devices at all). After that i restarted computer and before the computer started downloadin windows i pressed the mute button and it turned blue. I then went to windows and sound devices / sound was working again.
     Old situation:
I have motherboard integrated IDT audio device.
When i try to install audio drivers from hp site for 2540p i get "Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update." And the device manager doesnt list any IDT audio devices.
I then installed xp and the computer found IDT audio device normally and the sounds are working correct.
    New situation:
After i did new windows 7 install and all my audio drivers installed / devices showed in device list / audio worked i downloaded audio drivers from HP driver site and installed them to the computer.
Audio problems has not been occured again after my HP screen mute button turned to orange / Windows sound speaker was marked as X / Computer didn´t find any audio devices.
Currently waiting if the problem occurs again and trying to think what would cause this ( Hardware problem or software)? And how to fix it permanently.
    Any help for this problem?
BIOS is updated to newest version from HP driver download center.

  • MS Lync Audio Device Not Detected

    Hi,
In addition, if it can be detected in Windows system, you could try setting it to the default device.
    Restart Lync and test.
And some related cases for your reference.

  • Lync 2013 desktop usesr and Lync Web users.

When i send IM to users within my group using  Lync 2013 desktop client, the recipients on Lync Web app does not get my font color or font syle. Is there settings to get the font color and font style I use on the desktop client to appear in the Lync

    Hi,
I test in my Lync environment but didn’t find the issue. As Anthony said, there is no set except the setting “Change Font…” on Lync client Options. You can try to download the latest version for Lync client from Microsoft Website

  • How to Disable Lync 2013 Web app link in Lync meeting

I want disable Lync 2013 Web App , because it is  confuse WinXP user(no sound suuport) , I reference the topic(Disable Lync Web App link) but not work in 2013 version. How can I disable that?

I assume you're referring to this link:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/33fbfa3f-e7dd-43a7-85f4-43c280e17d4f/disable-lync-web-app-link?forum=ocsconferencing
That was an unsupported but clever hack that we developed by the user asking the question.   There is not supported method for doing this in Lync 2013.
If it's an audio only meeting, I'd suggest removing the URL completely from each individual the meeting invite before sending it out.  If it's not, then the WinXP user would either need Lync, which they would then automatically join with anyway, or
they wouldn't in which case sending them the meeting invite wouldn't help.

  • No Audio Device Detected (but it shows up correctly in device-manag

Well, I bought a new soundcard, since I was tired of my old integrated one, and wanted good surround-sound. The model is Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatalty, and my old integrated one is a Realtek-HD (doesn't say more than that).
Now to my problem, I removed the drivers from Realtek (even cleaned lots of it from the registry) and put in the new soundcard in a PCI-slot, as it's supposed to be done. I then started the computer, canceled the automatic installation and installed the drivers from the CD I got with the card (this is what it said I should do), now the card shows up in the device-manager as "Creative SB X-Fi" and it tells me it's working fine etc. The Creative-update software also detects it so that I can download the latest drivers.
However, I have no sound, and in the control-panel's "sound & sound devices" it says "No sound device" and I can't do anything. :/ (not sure if this is what it's called in english, I'm using the swedish version of Windows XP Professional), I can select the soundcard in creatives Volume Panel (where it says "select audio device") without any error-messages, but when I double click the application (to change the volume etc.) it says it can't find any supported soundcards.
I tried removing the drivers etc. for the SB-card and installed the Realtek ones again, but it's the same thing there, it shows up in the device manager (under sound - video & gaming-units) but windows still says it can't find an audio-device. My guess is that there's some kind of conflict between the Realtek-integrated card and the new one.
Anyone got any ideas of what to do? :/
Edit: Also, the computer keeps wanting to install the integrated soundcard, but I can't seem to find any way to turn it off in the BIOS :/ (I have an ABIT motherboard, don't know what type, can't seem to find the box for it). The BIOS is called "Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG"
I have ofcourse tried to fully remove and reinstall the SB-drivers aswell, but no luck there. :/

next time go into control panel click on sounds, click on record, right click any where in the record box and then put check marks in the boxes that say show disabled devices, and show disconnected devices. Those devices disappear when the boxes are not checked making your pc think there is no output sound.
