MacBook needs to be turned on and off 3 times before it starts properly
Hi, over the last week my macbook wont start after I turn it on. I get the blue screen with just a n arrow, the start up sound is there but I have to turn it off after few minutes. I do this at least 3 times and then my login box comes up. Has anyone any ideas of how to fix this. Ive done disk repair and verified permissions. Thanks in advance, Tracy

My iphone 5 screen needs to be turned on and off twice (hit the top button or home button, then turn off the screen again, then hit one of the buttons again) before I can slide the screen to unlock it. Also, when I was using it yesterday, the volume on my music was sliding up and down by itself, it clicked on albums by itself and wouldn't register my touch, the song kept pausing and playing by itself, and when I backed out of the app, all my running apps started sliding back and forth across the screen as if I were running my finger back and forth extremely fast. It also then opened the phone app, started to call one of my contacts, and wouldn't let me hang up. My phone is relatively new (got it back in June) and I haven't dropped my phone at all, haven't gotten it wet, etc... The only thing I've done to it recently is install iOS7. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it?
Took my phone to the Apple store this week and they told me it was a hardware/screen malfunction. They replaced the screen for free since it was under warranty. Now it works fine again!

My iPhone 5 started acting wierd earlier and the touched lived its own life. Suddenly it began the iPhone started to turn itself on and off several times, before it got a blue screen and wouldn't start again. What do I do?
press and hold the home button and the lock button together for atleast 10 secs or till the time u see the apple logo,once you see the apple logo,let go off the keys... good luck

Monitor cycles on and off many times before settling and staying on
When I turn my mac mini on or revive it from sleep, the monitor wakes up for a short time, then goes black for 30 seconds then revives itself for about 23 seconds in a cycle (on, off, on, off) that lasts about 30 minutes, maybe longer. After which, the monitor stays on indefinitely.
...until the computer goes back to sleep or is turned off... then the whole cycle starts over.
I do not have to touch anything for the cycles to happen.
The computer is running fine, in fact I can continue to type... I just cant see what I am doing.
This problem is a recent development and was not triggered by anything I am aware of.
After 6-8 times of going through this, I have not yet noticed any change in duration of cycles or of the length of time before it settles out.
I have a Mac Mini (Mid 2011)
External DELL monitor connected via Thunderbolt port mini display port to VGA.
I have tried reseting the SMC and PRAM with no correction to the problem.Hello slodave,
Since you are not hearing the hard drives or anything kick on for a while it sounds like the issue may be with your power supply.
You may want to look at the power supply there should be a light on it. See if it shows it is starting properly before the computer actually turns on (so this is during the 6+ times it is turning on and off).
If the power supply is going then you may just need to replace it to continue normal operation.

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1. -
Boots up only after turning on and off several times then freezes

Upgrade keys will not work for a fresh installation. They are designed to be used for upgrades only. I know because I had this issue with Windows XP back in the day. I was able to get around the issue by calling the number listed in the "Show
me other ways to activate" screen and explain to them that I upgraded from home to professional and no longer have the home installation media. You might find luck taking that route, or they may not help you at all. -
MacBook Air is just flashing on and off but not working after trying updates
This morning I got notification that I was supposed to update my MacBook Air with both update for iTunes and update for Firefox.
I hit yes to both.
Now I am just getting a constant flashing on and off and blank screen alternating with brief picture of the Apple with bar underneath it.
Have turned on and off several times and still won't work.

I don't think that the iTunes and Firefox updates could do this, but it looks like the logic board is damaged. What happens when you press Shift key while your Mac is starting? -
ipod was disabelled and needed connecting to itunes, with countless attempts nothing happend therefore performed as reset, now instead of turning on and off, ipod displays connect to itunes but is not recognised by computer nor will it connect to itunes, try enabelling for restore but only connec to itunes is shown consistently
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you have set this phone up, then there would not necessarily be a solution here until you have been verify with the provider that everything is provisioned correctly on their end. Since the 3G comes from your cellular provider, if the settings are correct on the phone, then you should work with the carrier next.

i have an 8GB ipod touch and suddenly I'm able to access only the "sent" mailbox of Mail and not the other mailboxes. I turned on and off. I connected it to MacBook but still I can't access the other mailboxes.

I have my all networks at 'Off' status in the system panel, never use Bluetooth either, also in the top status bar, and set as 'require admin password to turn on and off WiFi', but when I turn on my MacBookPro 15" retina newest model only one month old, it goes on to WiFi automatically by itself.
Is this a back door? Security hole?

OK recently my cam on the Macbook has been turning on and off when i use it in places such as skype or whatever, sometimes the screenw ould flickr, and sometimes i would have to turn it on and off myself to get the cam from not turning green. Also when the cam is working properly the person i am talking to cant hear my voice...is this fixable??

Yes, but unless you are using external (Firewire) iSight, the microphone and camera are independent.
(1) If you are using your MacBook's built-in isight, use the troubleshooting suggestions Carolyn suggests to determine if your camera problem is limited to only one user or one application. For instance, if the problem ocurrs only when you use Skype in any user account you test, seek help by searching or posting at Skype Support

Unless you have compelling reason for NOT doing so, update to the latest version of Leopard as follows:
First, use Disk Utility to repair permissions.
Then download and apply the latest Combo Update.
For your OS (Leopard), the latest Combo is here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL866
End with another permissions repair immediately following
the system restart that completes the Combo update.
Properly applying the Combo version of updates
can sometimes correct problems like yours.
After repairing permissions, use your Mac's > Software Update... to determine whether your other Apple software is in need of update, too.

My MacBook Air was being turned on and overheating itself
Hello, users
Today I found my MacBook air was being turned on and heating itself even if I haven't used it since last night.
I noticed When I tried to use it and put it out from my backpack and I felt weird because my MacBook in the cotten pouch was really hot.
My MacBook was pulled out immediately, horribly, it was too hot to hold it and I was really surprised!
As soon as I opened the my Mac, it displayed a cursor shotly and it automatically turned off and after that the fan stopped spinning as well.
I just got back home and connected with the power supplier, it had only 0% battery.
This is all I can explain from the beginning to now on.
This is the first time I have experienced this kind of situation.
I think I turned off well after using it yesterday and it wasn't heating in this morning.
I have no idea at all but I guess it would be recent update 2 days ago.
I don't want to imagine the following event if I didn't check it out before it had gone forever.
Do I need to check the condition of my MacBook Air all the time?
Is there any method to prevent this problem?
By the way, My Mac OS X version is now 10.7.5Welcome to Apple Discussions

I created a form to test reading and writing files on the client using webutil. (forms 11.1.1.4) which is something I need for my forms6i -- forms11 conversion. But it has an issue which is when the form starts it prints out a screen with webutil ver
