Mahjong Solitaire Epic crashes since update through App Store

I purchased Mahjong Solitaire Epic through the Apple App Store some time ago. Yesterday, I received a pop-up that said there was a new app for my computer in the App Store. Also there was a number on the App Store icon on my dock. Since I never install from a pop-up, I went to the App store and found an update of Mahjong Solitaire Epic waiting. I clicked on it and it installed but it was weird because it installed in less than a minute. After the update, I played this game several times, off and on, throughout the day. I shut the computer down last night. Since starting up today, the game opens when I click on its icon, but then it promptly crashes. I've sent 3 crash reports to Apple, but am wondering if anyone else is having this problem, and how I can go about getting this fixed. Any ideas on who/how to contact the right entity?
Thanks.

I resolved this problem by going to the website of the company that owns this game (Kristanix), and using the contact function to report the problem. I received a response almost immediately from one of the owners, who gave me a link to a newer version. That solved my problem. The customer service was excellent!

Try resetting the App Store.
Reset Learned from Old Toad
Try deleting the com.apple.appstore.plist.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.
Thanks to leonie for some information contained in this.

• Are iPhone ad-hoc distributed apps updatable through App Store or iTunes?

Hello
Say I ad-hoc distributed my beta to some testers.
If I then later release the app to the App Store, will the testers be able to update their ad-hoc versions to the released version (either through App Store Updates, or iTunes updates)?
Further question is if they are able to do so, would they have to pay for it if I am charging for it on the App Store?
I've been searching for this answer for quite some time, any input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Unfortunately that's not possible. iTunes sees them as two different applications - even if you use the same bundle ID, name and certificate. The problem is the code signing. App Store apps are signed by Apple and you. Ad hoc distributed apps are signed only by you.
When your app is updated in iTunes, it will run alongside any version that has been installed via ad hoc distribution.

• Trouble updating through app store

Hi I am having trouble updating through the app store. When it cones to the apple Id screen to type in the password it has an apple id of [email protected] and I cannot figure out how to change it. Any ideas?
thanks

Go to your computer and fire up iTunes. No need to connect the iPad. Depending on which app needs updating AND which Apple ID is in use, you might see the following:
Click on the App tab on the left and then look at the bottom right of the screen. A number near the "Check for Updates" text means that updates are needed. If you then click on the text and get a message that there are no updates, you're using the "wrong" Apple ID for those apps.
IF that happens, click on the "iTunes Store" on the left pane and then look at the upper right corner for the Apple ID. Click on the Apple ID and change it to the other one (I hope that you know the PW). Then go back to the App tab and do the update. The next time that you sync, the iPad will be updated.
There will be more investigation to completely solve the issue but at least now you'll have a clue regarding some of the apps that are tied to the other ID.

• The Simpsons Tapped Out, update through App Store asking for payment?

I am a daily player of TSTO, but I can't update cause when it takes me on to the App Store it's saying "sign in required" and then taking me to my account for billing information. Even though I found this strange I went ahead and put in my billing information. When I click done it's bring up the message "Your payment method was declined, please enter another payment method"?!? I have NO IDEA why it's even asking me for any sort of payment in the first place as it's a free game, and how could there possibly be a problem with my payment method as I use this exact same payment method everytime. Nothing has changed, card hasn't expired etc... I contacted EA Support team at first, and they said the exact same, it shouldn't be asking for any sort of payment! They advised me to contact apple but being from the UK this is pretty much impossible. There is NO way to contacted them about this sort of problem without having to pay an arm and a leg to phone them! I managed to email them through some sort of help thing that I now can't even find, but it's been 2 day's and still no reply...
If anyone can help thanks to you in advance

Well in my experience with having an iPhone for over 2 years, it is pretty hard to get help from them. I'll try that link though, thanks. Why is it asking me to update payment info? NOTHING about my payment info has changed and I know that I'm not the only person has this issue before. I used the same payment method the other day with no hassle
Anyway, even when I do put in the correct billing info again (updating I suppose)it's declining???

• App updates through App store, and then goes back to previous version!

I bought Civilization V: Campaign Edition from the Mac App Store. An update for the game became available a few days ago and I clicked update.
The whole update was downloaded and installed succesfully. I launched the game and it showed the new version too.
But after a minute, the App Store shows the update option available again.
I tried updating again but the same thing happened. The update finished succesfuly, a minute later the App Store shows yet another update available with the same version number and everything. Googling about it I found that a lot of users have complained of the same issue. Aspyr Support (Civ V Support) said that the issue lies with the App Store and asked me to contact Apple. So here I am - there are no Apple Stores in my area.

I launched the game and it showed the new version too.
No need to redownload the update repeatedly.
Try deleting the cache associated with the App Store...
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac.
If that doesn't help, install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.3 (Client Combo) may fix the udpate issue.
It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.7.3

I'm not very technical with computers, so if this has anything to do with "Terminal", please go slowly!!

Likely has to do with the new products and software released today, give it a few hours/days and try again later.

• Premiere Pro random crashing since update to 2014.2

Been working on the SAME big project over 18 months, in Pr Pro CC, 2014, working on the SAME PC:
Win 7 SP1 pro 64bit, i7-3770K, 32GB fast memory (25.7 available for Pr), Intel HD 4000 graphics on Asus motherboard with 30" NEC Multisync screen at 2560 x 1600 (same as for years)
42GB free on my SSD drive C: and 54GB free on my SSD drive S: for preview files, 24GB free on my SSD drive T: for caching files. Project files etc stored on a normal hard drive F: (for Files!) 1.25TB free.
NOW last update to 2014.2 and I get constant RANDOM crashes (Windows encountered a fault and had to close this program) despite updating graphics driver and trying different settings in preferences, use mercury etc. No particular action causes it - sometimes I am just watching it play a sequence and it just stops. Though of course it may be rendering the last edit at the time.
Sometimes it runs for all of 15 mins and I think the problem has sorted then it goes again and I have to restart the project, find where I was and re-do my last edits. If I remember to press Ctrl-S very frequently (every few seconds) it seems to run for a while then I forget for 5 mins and it crashes.
Grrrr what did you do to the latest version, Adobe?? I need to get this project finally finished in a hurry.... I wish I had not updated the program! Of course I cannot go back as it says the saved copy is now incompatible with earlier Pr Pro versions.
I then tried running a previous version at the same time, as simonray suggested in his post - it worked! So I am able to continue as normal provided I do this stupid bodge fix.
So it really is down to Adobe as it is the same project, same PC, just different version update. You did something to a great, stable, program that made it unstable, Adobe...
To ANSWER RAMEEZ from previous thread:
A variety of issues can cause PPRO to crash:
a problem with the Preferences, or some other pref-related file in the Profile-<USERNAME> bin. >> DIDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING since 1½ years running previous PrPro versions on SAME PROJECT on SAME PC
the graphics driver Checked for latest version - didn't stop the crashing
third-party plug-ins - don't have any
a problem with the cache files. I am using the same 2 x SSD I have been using for years for autosave and caching. 54GB free space / 24GB free space (current cache in place)
a problem with the project file (if you're loading a project...) Doesn't apply
the Preferences files be set to read-only How would that happen? Never happened before on any other update and I can change it.
the user not having administrator rights Only one user on PC since installation, full rights
a conflict/incompatibility with some OS setting Haven't changed anything
a problem on the licensing/authentication side. I'm signed up to full Adobe CC. Everything else works, Ps, Lr, Id ...
A log file might help identify the cause of the crash. Please right-click 'My Computer', select "Manage," look under 'Event Viewer->Windows Logs->Application' to see if there's an event there from Premiere Pro. If so, copy the contents of that log and paste them here.

Problem Solved! (with a small catch)
While searching crashing issues I came across this thread,"Premiere Pro random crashing since update to 2014.2"
Marc_Lec Answered (and I paraphrase here)"...I had the same problem and this is what I did. In 'Preferences Memory' I increased the memory reserved for other application to at least half the installed and changed the optimize render from 'performance' to 'memory."
Thank You Marc_Lec for what has been a game changer for me since my last computer and the beginning of PremiereCC problems.
I changed my Memory reserved for Other Applications from the default 7gigs to 1/2 of my approx.31 available Gigs = 16Gigs. Viola!
No more crashing what-so-ever!
I still have to purchase an older GTX 980 graphics card to take advantage of Adobe's approved code to utilize X=Cuda Cores and GPU, but I think I'll hang onto my new TitanX, in hopes that Adobe will write code and approve it someday in the near future.
Now why doesn't Adobe say this officially about Memory Settings? (I don't know maybe they do and I missed I somewhere)
Mine and probably many peoples computers problems here on this board may be attributed to a simple Memory adjustment, because the computer needs more than 7Gigs to run itself, not to mention Premiere.

I cannot download nor update apps through Apps Store, error message states that app cannot be downloaded, to try again later, this has been happening for the last five days. Help!
It started when tryung to update Twitter. Now the problem is with every app I try to update or download.

I have this issue as well. The App Store icon indicates there are updates available but when I open the app a popup says it can't connect to the store and the screen remains white. I have tried a hard reset (power & home button) and several other suggestions I have found throughout the forums here without success.

• PS CS6 crashes since update

On my PC (WIndows 7) Photoshop CS6 has been crashing since updating though Adobe Application Manager a couple of days ago. What is the best practice to uninstall and reinstall PS? I've had serious issues uninstalling before, so it's not necessarily a simple answer. Any help would be appreciated!
I also use the Adobe programs on a Mac and I found it odd that Adobe told me all the applications needed updating when I checked on my Windows 7 system, but said they were all up to date on my Mac (an hour later). Does that sound kosher?

Have not changed any setting in PS as far as I know. The version after the update is 13.2.2 x 64
The program will also not save a file correctly as a PDF. Have not had this problem until today. The file has text and some of the text lines reproduce in the PDF as white (instead of black) and just show and outline. All the other text is normal. I've tried saving the PDF five times and no change.

• Will not update apps through app store

My Ipad can not update apps through app store?

Hi Young Steve,
Welcome to the Support Communities!
The first thing I would suggest is to sign out of your iTunes & App Store account, quit all of your open apps and restart the iPad:
Sign out of your iTunes & App Store account
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1311?viewlocale=en_US
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
Tap your Apple ID.
Tap Sign Out.
Close all open apps on the iPad
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
Restart and/or Reset the iPad
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Before you sign back into the iTunes store, access a popular website on your iPad to confirm you are not having any issues with your Wi-Fi connection. Follow these steps if you are having issues connectiong to the internet:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398?viewlocale=en_US
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords.
If you are not having any issues connecting to the internet, sign back in to your iTunes Store Account and check to see if you have any incomplete downloads:
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1725
If you still are unable to connect to the iTunes Store, follow these troubleshooting steps:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
If there are apps that need to be updated, try updating one app at a time instead of all of them at once. If there is an issue with a particular app, you can delete it and redownload it.
I hope this information helps ....
- Judy

Hi, Holger-
Sorry for the delay, and thanks for the bump. I downloaded your file and opened it on my Mac OSX 10.8 machine running the latest version of Animate CC. It opened just fine and I was able to create an Animation based off of one of the text fields. What platform are you running on?
Thanks,
