Mail Alerts- Issue- Prime 4.2

Hello All,
While trying to troubleshoot mail alerts not receiving from DFM, i got the below error on both LMS and SMTP Server.
On SMTP server
250 HM02SQL01.test.com Hello [x.x.x.x]
mail from:[email protected]
250 2.1.0 [email protected]...Sender OK
rcpt to:[email protected]
550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for [email protected]
On Prime - SMTP log
Exception:  You have entered an invalid mail address. (550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for [email protected])
I am not recieving any alerts from LMS. What could be the issue..?
Quick help would be appreciated.

Seems your Exchange mail server is not properly configured to relay messages.
If you are using windows AD check this :
Exchange 2003:
Open the Exchange System Manager
Go in Administrative Groups -> Administrative group name -> Server -> Server name -> Protocols -> SMTP
Right click on Default SMTP Virtual Server -> properties
Access tab -> Relay button
Select "only the list bellow" and add your domain and\or IPs you do want to allow the relay.
Check the "Allow all computers which successfully authenticate to relay, regardless of the list above" checkbox.
Exchange 2007:
For Exchange 2007, create a second receive connector for external addresses as described in How to Set Up SMTP Relay in Exchange 2007.
Check Microsoft's Exchange Archive as well.
-Thanks
Vinod

  • Sync issues with Google Calendar and e-mail alerts

    Hello,
I'm experiencing a lot of problems with iCal while I'm trying to sync it with Google Calendar. I have correctly inserted my Google account information into iCal, but:
    when I create a new event and I disable the e-mail alert and save it, it automatically turns on the e-mail alert! Is there a way to disable by default all alerts? I have already tried to go to Settings - Advanced and select “Disable all alerts” with no result;
all the events I create into iCal are correctly synced with Google Calendar and I can correctly read them on the web app, but in my android device they don't have the time information (they are listed as all-day events)

GooSync would do the trick - http://www.goosync.com/
Plz be aware that Goosync nor Google Contacts supports all field from your phone so it is not an 100% backup unfortunately

  • E-mail alerts not working properly

I have a problem with my Tour which has put me in some awkward situations- like in court and work meeting- not good.
The e-mail alert makes an audible noise even when the setting is programmed for silent. My original Tour worked fine at first, and after about 3 weeks the problem appeared. Verizon replaced the phone and now the replacement worked fine at first and is now messing up after about 3 weeks.
I need a fix for this problem. I saw someone else described the same problem on the Storm forum. It appears it might be a software issue.

"Normal" is what you set it to be (with or without email alerts, etc). Loud and Silent should be evident as well.
I still think you have some setting to override the silent profile for something.
If you look at the Silent profile and check the email settings for volume, etc., everything is set to off or mute or whatever would be appropiriate for "silent'?

  • E-mail Alerts have stopped

Something has happened on our server and we are no longer receiving e-mail alerts of any kind. Can someone point me in a direction so I can let the IT consultant fix the issue? Thank You

    Hi Jim,
Start with checking the services to see if tyhe SBO mailer is running. If yes check the definition of the alerts so that they are still defined to send email. ALso chech the outbox in B1 to see if there are mails not sent.
Further, check with your IT guys that the name or IP of the SMTP server has not changed.
    I hope it helps,
    Jesper

  • Edit e-mail alerts generated by task lists

My client wants to customise the e-mail alerts generated to notify users of tasks due or overdue. I would like to know where the default messages are stored.
    Thanks
    Chris

    In addition
please check the below guide and make sure you have done your configurations as per it.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/be79a16b-0a01-0010-51b8-9b6d1968338d?overridelayout=true
we were having similar issues with CCMS and it was due to missing configurations in client 000 , we had instead done them in client 100,which may result cause some issues and not always trigger alerts.
In Rz20->SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors->CCMS SelfMonitoring and GRMG SelfMonitoring will give you more information.
CCMSSelfmonitoring will keep logs of all the errors which happened in CCMS itself,it mails are not triggered,it will have logs which shows why mails were not triggered.

  • Mail Alert with Triangle Exclamation Mark with iMap - Too Many Connections?

I have one Laptop (Macbook mid-07) on Leopard 10.5.6 and a Macbook Pro 09 on Leopard 10.5.8. I just switched over to iMap where I have two email accounts set up on both laptops. Both laptops have identical accounts set up on them.
I'm currently geting the triangle with the exclamation mark alert on the inboxes of both accounts when both laptops have Apple Mail open. Is this an issue with Apple Mail or my Service Provider possibly complaining that I have too many connections? I don't get these alerts when only one laptop has the Mail App open. The alert reads:
    Alert
There may be a problem with the mail server or the network. Check the settings for the account "IMAP" or try again.
The server error encountered was: The attempt to read data from the server "mail.mydomain.com" failed.
However, Mail seems to send and receive okay with the alerts popping up and so I'm not sure if this alert is anything to be serioulsy concerned about. Or, is there a way to fix this?

I set mail to fetch messages every 15 minutes where I delayed one laptop in opening up mail initially by 5 minutes. That way, both laptops are not fetching mail concurrently and there's a gap of time for them to download mail before the other starts. This seemed to have fix this alert issue and I'm no longer getting these messages.
Although, 15 minutes seems to be a bit long for auto fetching since my email can be under some time constraints. Does anyone know how to set the time to check every 10 minutes which I can probably live with? Currently, I have the option to set for 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or manually.

  • Mail alert sounds too loud; preferences ignored

After I upgraded to Leopard, suddenly the alert sounds in Mail were way too loud. I double-checked my "Alert volume" setting in the Sound preferences and it was set low. Other system sounds are played at an appropriate level. Only Mail ignores it. It seems that no matter what my system volume is set to, Mail alerts are played at 100% volume.
I found this old thread on the same topic, and am wondering if there is any fix for this problem yet?
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7058243
Since I have been unable to find any reference to a fix from Apple, and I am sick of about jumping out of my skin when I am concentrating on work and a new message comes in... here is a hack that I did today that might help others: I located each sound file Mail uses (I have several that are used in my Rules), opened each in Audacity ( http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ ), adjusted each to -15db, and saved a copy of the files. I then assigned the "new mail" sound to use the quieter copy. Each rule also had to be edited to attach to the new files.
It's a hack, and time-consuming, but it seems to work.

  • How create mail alert without triggering the event.

    1.     SR 3-4924626351: How create mail alert without triggering the event.
We wanted to send alert mail every 10 days or 15 days or 1 month to a reporting manager of Opportunity Owner with details of that Opportunity. I don’t want to use any triggering of event like the Following. When new opportunity is created When modified Opportunity is saved etc.

    Raju,
If you don't want to use the triggering event, you will have to do this manually.
    Manually:
    - Create a Web Link on the SR with and embed the mailto: function with the receivers email and subject and body embedded in the url (you can find this link on Google)
    - When this link is clicked, an email window will open with all the details you provide, and you can click the send button to send the email.
    - You will have to do this manually every 10-15 days or whatever is the duration
    Auto:
    - Create a time based workflow on a new Opportunity Created event
    - create a action to send an email notification to the concerned person (details in the workflow properties)
    - This workflow will auto send an email every 10-15 days to the opportunity Manager.
The time based workflow is the best option I see. Do you see any issue/ concerns with auto generated emails?
    Hope this helps!

  • Powershell workflow generating false e-mail alerts

    Hi,
I have a powershell script that gathers all of the trusted domains in our environment and then sends each domain name to another script to time the amount of time it takes to receive a response to an unqualified (isolated) name query in AD.
    Script 1 code:
    #Load the Active Directory Module
    Import-module activedirectory
#Search the local schema for all trusted domain objects
    $ADDomainTrust = Get-ADObject -Filter {ObjectClass -eq "trustedDomain"} -Properties * | Sort-Object cn
#Define workflow to pass domain names to trustsearch script
    workflow Get-domains
      param( $trusteddomainlist)
      foreach -parallel ($trusteddomain in $trusteddomainlist)
        $trust = $trusteddomain.name
          InlineScript {C:\trustsearch.ps1 $using:trust}
    Get-domains -trusteddomainlist $ADDomainTrust
As you can see, I'm using a "foreach -parallel" workflow to query each trusted domain simultaneously. This is done to alert us to a potential problem as quickly as possible, without having to wait for the entire script to finish.
Here's the code for the second (isolated name query) script. It sends me an e-mail if the query takes over 60 seconds.
    Script #2 code:
     $trust=$args[0]
    foreach($domain in $trust){
    $startDTM = (get-date)
    $objUser = New-Object System.Security.Principal.NTAccount("junk")
    $strSID = $objUser.Translate([System.Security.Principal.SecurityIdentifier])
    $strSID.Value
    $endDTM = (get-date)
    $totaltime = (($endDTM-$startDTM).TotalSeconds)
    $ftotaltime = "{0:N2}" -f $totaltime
    Function SendMail
    #SMTP server name
         $smtpServer = "<SMTP server IP address>"
         #Creating a Mail object
         $msg = new-object Net.Mail.MailMessage
         #Creating SMTP server object
         $smtp = new-object Net.Mail.SmtpClient($smtpServer)
         #Email structure
         $msg.From = "<sender e-mail address>"
         $msg.ReplyTo = "<reply e-mail address>"
         $msg.To.Add("<recipient e-mail address>"
$msg.subject = "Isolated Name monitor warning"
         $msg.body = @"
Isolated name queries are running slowly. A script measures how long the NAMCK domain controllers take to resolve an unqualified name query. It usually takes no more than 60 seconds to execute. It is currently taking $ftotaltime seconds.
This may indicate a trust issue or a problem with a downstream trusted domain.
    #Sending email
        $smtp.Send($msg)
    If ($ftotaltime -gt "60.00")
     SendMail
Unfortunately, I'm getting a lot of false positives....e-mail alerts when query responses are taking only 7 or 8 seconds, not just over 60. It seems to happen most during the first 2 or 3 minutes the script runs. I think it has something to do with it running
in parallel, because when I remove the "foreach -parallel" functionality, I don't get any false positives.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to cut down or even eliminate the false positives without removing the "foreach -parallel" functionality?
    Thanks.

I think the problem is here:
    If ($ftotaltime -gt "60.00")
You're doing a string comparison, when you need to be doing a numeric comparison:
    If (60.00 -lt $ftotaltime)
    Here:
    $ftotaltime = "{0:N2}" -f $totaltime
you're uisng the string format operator (-f) which is going to produce a string. String comparisons of numbers won't produce the expected results:
    PS C:\> "9.00" -gt "60.00"
    True
Using the numeric double value 60.00 (instead of the string value "60.00"), and putting it on the LH side of the comparison will cause $ftotaltime to be coerced to a double, and you should get the expected results.
    [string](0..33|%{[char][int](46+("686552495351636652556262185355647068516270555358646562655775 0645570").substring(($_*2),2))})-replace " "

  • IPad Air Mail alert sound

    Hi,
I have an iPad Air with the most current OS 8.2. My selected mail alert sound does not work.  All I get is a basic ring tone. I can select another one but the selected sound isn't played when new mail arrives. The iPad Air is less than a year old and the sounds works fine with the os installed at purchase, I think it was 7.1.2.
Thank you for any insight and help with this.
    Artie

    Hi Arthur,
If you are having issues with your being unable to use any other alert sound for your incoming mail, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPad -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPad as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • E-mail alert not activating

I think I am starting to learn about this site now. So hopefully I am asking the question in the right place. I have a new 8520, making some progress as e-mail is working and internet accessible but I cannot get the e-mail alert to work and the e-mail appear to be self deleting after a few minutes. Any help or advice welcome.

Hi dahliaeng and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums!
Have you tried changing the current sound profile on your BlackBerry® smartphone?  You can do so by going into the Sounds and Alerts Profiles application from your home screen.
As for why they are deleting after a few minutes, what type of email account do you have configured?
    Thanks

  • LOM, ALOM, RSC, ILOM mail alerts

    Hi,
I just want to get to the bottom of this. Anyone else who experiences problems with ALOM/RSC/ILOM/LOM email alerts please post here!
I have done an audit of all my systems and found the following:
    T5220 with latest firmware:
    Sun System Firmware 7.2.0 2008/12/11 17:58
    Host flash versions:
    Hypervisor 1.7.0 2008/12/11 13:38
    OBP 4.30.0 2008/12/11 12:15
    POST 4.30.0 2008/12/11 12:43
    Mail alerts work fine here
    T2000 with latest firmware:
    Sun-Fire-T2000 System Firmware 6.7.0 2008/12/11 14:54
    Host flash versions:
    OBP 4.30.0 2008/12/11 12:15
    Hypervisor 1.7.0 2008/12/11 13:43
    POST 4.30.0 2008/12/11 12:41
Mail alerts do not work. Sun advises me to
change my Production mail server to allow
    broken sender header "[email protected]".
    This is not good enough.
    V240 with ALOM 1.6.8:
    Mail alerts work fine.
    V490 with RSC 2.2.2:
    sc> showsc
    RSC Version: 2.2.2
    RSC Bootmon version: 2.2.2
    RSC Firmware version: 2.2.2
    Email alerts work fine!!!!
    V490 with RSC 2.2.3:
    rsc> showsc
    RSC Version: 2.2.3
    RSC Bootmon version: 2.2.2
    RSC Firmware version: 2.2.3
    Email alerts do not work.
So we have a case where Sun RSC is broken from RSC 2.2.3 onwards.
We have a case where the ALOM on a V240 works perfectly but the T2000 is totally b0rked and
Sun is not interested in fixing it.
So can anyone concur with my findings? Do we sort of get together and request
    en-masse to get these fixed?
It would seem the programming of the SC/ALOM/ILOM/RSC are all inconsistent.
Some of them are well behaved. Some are configured in such a way I would
fail anyone submitting such work as homework etc.
I honestly believe if a service such as an RSC is setup to send email,
it should do it in a method that ensures as little risk of non-delivery
as possible, such as being able to set a hostname/domain for the sender.
As is indicated above, it appears the precedent is set for the technology
to be able to do so, but there is an inconsistent approach to this in the
Sun shop where the RSC/LOM etc are developed.
So while we're at it, how about Sun standardising the RSC across
their product line so we only have to use and support one interface?!

    Problem
Email alerts from ILOM not working. Test box is a T5140.
    Complication
ALOM systems using the same email server have no problem.
    Analysis
ILOM changed the format of the email address.
    Old [ALOM] = alom-alert@[alom_IP]
    New [ILOM] = ilom-alert@ilom_IP
The one that works has [] surrounding the IP.
Note: the other problem was that under certain firmwares, the “Send Test Alert” function in the GUI was broken. As this is how I tested ILOM email functionality, I thought it was broken when only the send mechanism was broken.
Paul Quattrociocchi from Sun found this:
    Document ID:     6633026
Title:     Unable to use e-mail alert notifications via ILOM due to
    IP domain in address
For example, sendmail v8.9+ will not accept "domain literal" address
([ipaddress] is a domain literal). But it does accept "@1.2.3.4"
    Just fine.
So some mailers accept @1.2.3.4, some accept @[1.2.3.4]. But it
doesn't look like we can be guaranteed that any one style will work.
CR 6410008 is the same as the ILOM issue. They fixed it by quoting
RFC 2821 and changing the address to "ilom-alert@[10.100.14.104]".
The mail server that was failing showed the following in its logs [I’ve removed the SMTP server and client ILOM info]:
    Feb 25 10:53:22 SMTP_server postfix/smtpd[29222]: [ID 197553 mail.info] connect from ILOM_card
    Feb 25 10:53:22 SMTP_server postfix/smtpd[29222]: [ID 947731 mail.warning] warning: Illegal address syntax from ILOM_card in MAIL command: ilom-alert@IP_address
    Feb 25 10:53:22 SMTP_server postfix/smtpd[29222]: [ID 197553 mail.info] disconnect from ILOM_card
Fix [this is specific to the T5x40 but there are likely releases for other platforms]
    Document ID:     139444-01
Title:     Hardware PROM: SPARC Enterprise T5140 & T5240 Sun System
    Firmware LDOMS
    Sun System Firmware 7.2.0 2008/12/11 18:19
    ILOM 3.0.2.50 Dec 11 18:19:11 PST 2008
    VBSC 1.7.0 Dec 11 2008 17:20:47
    Hypervisor 1.7.0 2008/12/11 13:40
    OBP 4.30.0 2008/12/11 12:16
    POST 4.30.0 2008/12/11 12:44
From the GUI you select update ILOM, but it updates everything.
This allows you to change the format of the return email address to something the SMTP server will accept.
    The short-term fix
Change email servers to one that accepts the new format [no guarantee this will keep working].
If you set the sc_clieventlevel to 3 [minor] and do something, anything, that triggers an event [logging in to the GUI, logging out of the GUI, etc], you will cause email to be sent.
