Mail/messages problem

I can't get my Mail/Messages to work on iPhone 4 -- neither Gmail nor Earthlink.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you.
I entered both my Earthlink email info and my Gmail email info. When I tap them, I get the message "Cannot Get Mail". The mail server "pop.jps.net" [Earthlink] or "imap.gmail.com" is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings.

Bizarre E-Mail/Messages Problem

Hello all. I have a brand new playbook and it seems to have the oddest quirk regarding my email messages. So I send a test message to myself using my pc and the playbook gets it almost instantly. Then I delete that message and send another test message from my pc and the playbook again receives it almost instantly. Now for the problem: The new message aririves with it's proper headers, but the message itself is the message from the earlier one that has been deleted. I did this several times and the new message had all the right subject/sender info, but the actual text that is in the message is from the previously deleted message. I have done this using several different email addresses so it cannot be the email account that is causing this phenomenon. Does anybody have a clue as to what is going on here. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as e-mail was a major reason for my purchase of the playbook in the first place.

Open Mail Preferences, and go to Accounts tab. Check you gmail account and that the correct SMTP server is selected for this account.
Do the same for other accounts selecting them one-by-one.

Retrieving mail message problem

Accessing yahoo mail using my C7, when trying to reply to some emails, the message "Retrieving" comes up but nothing else happens and the email isn't retrieved. Only happens to some emails - any ideas anyone??

how long have you let the mail retrieve?

Blank Mail Messages Problem

I upgraded to lion on my mid 2010 MacBook Pro a few weeks ago. Now, in Mail, some of the messages show up blank when I open them. The middle column shows the sender and date and all, but when I open the message the reading pane is blank. Solutions?Mail

I fixed this by renaming the mailboxes containing the empty emails. I didn't even have to restart Mail.
After installing Mavericks and 10.9.1 update a week ago, Mail was working fine. Today, however, out of the blue, the email content disappeared from some of my mailboxes inside Mail app -- they were "On My Mac", and had come from a mix of POP and IMAP accounts.
I was planning to import my back-up mailboxes. To avoid conflicts, I renamed the mailboxes in the Mail app itself. For instance, I just double-clicked mailbox "Clients" and renamed it to "Clients1". After that, all email content was back in the (now renamed) mailbox -- no need to import anything.
All's well now (knock on wood) and I'm not curious at all to see what happens if I rename them back.

DELETING INBOX MAIL MESSAGE PROBLEM

I am getting a dialogue pop up box that tells me that the message hat I am trying to move to the trash can't be copied to "messages" because an item with the same name already exists. I completely emptied my trash and that didn't help. Needlwaa to say, this is extremely annoying.

Back up all data. Rebuild the mailbox. Try to delete the message again.

I have another problem with my restored sent e-mail messages

I like to back up my mail on my MacBook Pro. Ever since I restored my sent e-mail messages on my iMac using its TM, I copy my mail folder on my MacBook Pro but the sent messages doesn't work on my MBP.
I think that I know the cause is, on my external drive it says: Backup for Steve's iMac. I think that means the backups will only work for my iMac.
So here's my question, is there anyway to change my sent e-mail messages to universal so they will work both in my iMac and my MBP again?
BTW, although I have time capsule for my MBP but I use mail exclusively on my iMac. So at the end of the day I just copy my iMac's mail folder into my MBP and only I start my mail application in my MBP is to make sure that all of the changes are there. I do this day after day.
So the changes come from my iMac, do you know what I mean?

Sounds like a permission problem, but I can't be sure.
You may benefit from MobileMe to sync your email instead of copying and pasting.
Just a thought.

Problem with attaching files to mail message

Hello,
I have problem with my mail app. I'm using spaces for better organization. When I wanna add some file to mail message I usually go to different desktop (space), where I have the file I wanna attach. I grab it move to right up corner to activate spaces, than move to desktop (space) with mail.app and press spacebar (it activates the desktop immediately). At that time it also start random app, which is in my dock.

I'm using MacBook Pro 15'', Snow Leopard - latest updates. I've reinstalled my mac two days ago, so no garbage should be in.

I don't have selected "always..." so I also tried it with selected "always...".
Now I discovered that it has nothing to do with the mail. I've tried just move some file from one of spaces (desktop) to another using the spacebar for faster switching and it did the same. It opens random app from Dock.
So now this topic is in wrong discussion. I will post it to correct discussion...

What's with the new edition of Pages using Maverick? Google rejects the files with the following message attached "The reason for the problem: 5.3.0 - Other mail system problem 552-'5.7.0 This message was blocked as its content security threat?

I recently upgraded both Pages 09 (I believe) and went to OSX 10.9 Maverick .... now I am unable to send a pages document to a friend on gmail. Google rejects the message and attachment with the following explanation -
The reason for the problem:
5.3.0 - Other mail system problem 552-'5.7.0 This message was blocked because its content presents a potential\n5.7.0 security issue.

IWORKS 09 pages, keynote, numbers does not send in MAIL (mac) because of "This message was blocked because its content presents a potentialsecurity issue"
its a problem not only on GMAIL but also Live, Hotmail, Yahoo, and other services...
The problem is that gmail and others haved yet accepted the latest iworks 09 files. its a problem that apple can ask then to fix but its up to the gmail and others to fix it.
Solution!!!:
1 - Send it by exporting to office files
2 - Saving the files as old iwork documents
3 - Command P and save as PDF
4 - Save in icloud and send the URL
So you can still send them but have to take a bit more of your time

Display problems in Mail messages with image attachment

Issue: Seeing intermittent display problems in Mail messages with image attachments
Annoyance level: minor, but Apple techs need to pass it along
Details: Regardless of mail client sending to iPhone (Outlook, OWA, Yahoo, Gmail) there are intermittent and what appear to be random occurrances of the pic being half rendered and/or the pic never loading (followed by message saying it can't be retrieved from server). In some instances the picture then appears fully rendered without a problem. Note: Image sizes varied from 14KB to 450KB

I'm not familiar with C#, but if possible try the following:
1. Removing all thead and tbody tags from the body of the message.
2. Changing all inline CSS to embedded CSS.
I've seen a user said the message stopped showing up after making the changes.
If the issue persists, please note, since Outlook 2007, Outlook opens the HTML Email and converts it to Microsoft Word format before displaying it to the user. What happens during this process is that many CSS attributes and HTML support is completely removed.
Some of the most notable absences are background-image, and padding and margin support. Hardly can we do much about this, so the message "If there are problems with how this email is displayed, click here to view it in a web browser" is actually
a good workaround when we face this problem.

Is anyone else having a problem sending a mail message with PDF attached? I receive the following message:
Sending the message content to the server failed.
Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent.
Is there a fix for this?

Anyone? I was hoping my problem would just 'fix itself'... but I still have some clients telling me they're not receiving any email from me. I've since deleted that account on my computers and re-added it. But still having the same issue.

Having problem deleting all but one particular mail from the iPhone 4S mail inbox. I can delete mail either by the trash can or using edit, selecting the mail message and deleting. However there is this one mail message that will not go away. Any ideas?

I get that every once in a while on my 3GS, and that's what I do to get rid of it. Probably not a bad idea to power down the phone every so often, anyway, gets rid of any crud waiting to cause a bug.

Mail messages going to drafts

My email messages are all ending up in the drafts folder, even though they have been sent. Any way to get these out of the drafts folder??

I am having the same problem... started about 2-3 months ago.... a copy of all mail messages is saved to draft, even though they are sent... Anyone figure this out yet???

Mail messages open in small, truncated window . . .

I'm running OSX 10.8 on a MacBook Pro Retina. When I click on a Mail message on the list, it opens in a small truncated window at the bottom of my screen. I have to move and resize virtually every piece of email to read it. Is there a fix? Thank you!

I am having a similar issue on my MacBook Air. On occassion, a mail message will open at about 1/3 of normal size in the bottom left corner of the screen. It is not consistent, and there doesn't appear to be any pattern to the type of email that causes this. It happens with both of my email accounts.
The only 2 solutions I've found:
1) Resize the window which will sometimes correct the problem, but it generally reoccurs shortly thereafter.
2) Close and reopen Mail.
Any permanent solutions?

In search of assistance learning how to modify the mail message from an out of the box SP2010 approval workflow.

So, I have found the article

However, there is a basic problem that I run into before I get started.
I am logged into the system as a regular user (ie not a farm admin, etc.).
I do, however, have full control on the site on which I am working.
I create a custom list.
I create a simple one step approval - sharepoint 2010 out of the box workflow.
I start SharePoint designer and give it the URL of the list. It opens up and I see the various objects on the left side of the screen.
I click right on the Workflows object - which is where the article says I will find the ability to copy and modify the workflow.
All I see is "open", "open in a new tab" and "Pin".
I selecdt open in a new tab - and I get a blank screen labeled workflows that says "There are no items to show in this view".
So, I click on Lists and Libraries, then on the name of my custom list.
When the list displays, the Workflows section of the page has a "Modified Workflow" displayed.
When I right click on it, no menu is shown. When I click on the modified workflow, I get the workflow settings page for that workflow.
I am trying to figure out how to create the copy of the workflow so that I can modify one of the mail messages in SharePoint designer.
Is there someone who has some advice on how to find this copy and modify option? Or perhaps a web site, web forum, article series, or book covering the topic?

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to modify the OOB approval workflow in SharePoint Designer.
After opening the site in SharePoint Designer, just click Workflows in the left panel and then the workflows in the site will load in the right part.
If you want to copy and modify the OOB approval workflow, then you need to right the approval workflow
Approval – SharePoint 2010 under Globally Reusable Workflow. After that you will see the
Copy and Modify button.
