Mailbox Rules issue

I have made 'rules' to ensure all newly received email is automatically placed into relevant mailboxes. Works nicely. However the same can't be said about mail I send. Instead of placing mail I send into 'Sent', I would like it to be automatically placed into the mailbox of the person I am sending it to, along with the mail I receive from them.
Eg. If I receive mail from Fred, it is automatically placed into the mailbox named 'Fred's Mailbox. When I send mail to Fred, the copy is automatically into 'Sent Mailbox' rather 'Fred's Mailbox.
If I make a rule that says Put messages to Fred into 'Fred's Mailbox', Mail searches & finds all the messages I've sent to Fred & places them into 'Fred's Mailbox (from 'Sent Mailbox'). However this only seems to work as a 'one-off'. The next time I send mail to Fred, the copy goes to 'Sent Mailbox' again, & none to 'Fred's Mailbox'.
It was like this under Tiger on my powerbook, & still the same in Leopard on my Macbook Pro. Have I missed something? Is this a known bug?
Hoping someone may shed some light on this.
Thanks

Rules are applied automatically to incoming messages. They are not applied automatically to outgoing messages.
You could set up a smart mailbox for Fred, but this would not get the sent messages out of the Sent mailbox. Alternatively you could set up an Applescript to move messages to Fred from the Sent box to the Fred box, and run it on a timer, or even have it run every time there is any incoming message.

  • Creating Mailbox Rules on Shared Mailboxes

We are using Exchange 2010 SP1 and have just discovered the Shared Mailboxes option. This has helped us get over a lot of hurdles. However we want to be able to make rules on those boxes to sort mail as it comes into a shared box to put it in different
folders in that box. I can't seem to find a way to configure a mailbox rule for the shared box. Any guidance would be great!

Have you actually tried this? Because it doesn't work for shared inboxes like it does personal inboxes. Rules don't trigger automatically, and they don't apply across the network, you must apply them on a machine by machine basis. Please make an effort
to understand what people are actually asking, this site is cluttered with useless "answers"

  • Mailbox Rule?

How can I create Rules for Mailboxes, i.e. delete old messages from a mailbox after a period of time?
I have created the rule to put messages from senders into mailboxes but I cannot create a specific mailbox rule, any ides would be appreciated.

Sorry, but you can't create a rule to act on messages only a specific mailbox. It might be possible to perform this sort of function via an AppleScript or Automator workflow, but I'm not expert enough in either to be able to provide instructions. Perhaps someone else here will have an idea.

  • Outlook Move Emails to specific folder rule issues.

    Hello,
We have found fallowing issue in our Outlook/Exchange environment:
If we setup rules in outlook 2010/2013 to move emails from specific sender to specific folder emails are moved to that folders but also they appear in a "Recover deleted Items" folder. if we move emails manually no issues. If we recover them they
will appear double in the specific folder.
We are using two Exchange  2013 Servers in DAG with latest cumulative updates. CAS/MB roles combined.
    Any Ideas?  Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
When creating this inbox rule to move emails from specific sender to specific folder emails, please make sure the following field is unchecked.
If we choose this field, then situation like yours will happen.
Please also check if there are any other inbox rules or transport rules relative this issue.

  • Smart Mailbox rules broken in 10.9

Ever since installing Mavericks, one of my Smart mailbox which shows emails in the last week with a Rule:
    Date received, is this week
    shows an empty mailbox.
Is this a known bug?  There's lots of discussion around the GMail bugs, but this is a different issue.

Same problem here and this was working great with other versions.

  • Exchange 2013 mailbox name resolving vs. exchange server name (mailbox rule)

    Hello guys,
I am running exchange 2007 and exchange 2013 CU7 in hybrid mode, while internal autodiscover a record is pointing to exchange 2007 client rule server.
When I configure outlook mailbox located on exchange 2007- I can use autodiscover using mail address ore resolve mailbox name vs. exchange server name.
When I configure outlook mailbox located on exchange 2013- I can configure it only using autodiscover mechanism ( email address - next- next etc.).
We are using EMC backup software which works with MAPI. Since I wasn't able to restore granular mailboxes, I contacted EMC and they claimed that it's very important to configure mailboxes resolving.
What should I check and configure to make it work?

    Hi,
I think if we want to browse single mailbox by backup software, it will be regard to resolve mailbox name using server name, I suggest you contact  EMC supplier to improve it.
By the way, they I type mailbox name which located on exchange 2013 server database and typing exchange 2007 cluster name, server name of exchange 2007 cluster changes automatically to exchange 2013 server on which this mailbox located.
A: first, we should make sure cluster was worked without any problem. Then make sure Exchange 2013 mailbox server was included in cluster.
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.
    Best Regard,
    Jim

  • Oracle EPM 11.1.1: Business Rules issue

    Hi All,
I have installed Oracle EPM 11.1.1 and I have created a planning application. However when I logon to Analytical Administration console and try to create a business rule I am facing the following issue:
    1. When I try to select Planning Application out I get the following errors:
Error connecting to Essbase server <Server name>/<Application Name>.
Detail:Could not log in to Planning Server
    2. As a work around I have set the Essbase outline and the rule is getting validated from AAS. This rule has been attached to a form and should be executed when I do a submit. However the rule is not running from the form. I tried running the rule from Planning web and again I am getting an error.
I checked the access rights for the Business Rule from shared services and the admin user (which I am using) has Provision and Administrator rights. Is it a configuration issue or is there something that I am missing here.
    Thanks in advance,
    Amol

  • XMII 12.0 SP2 message rules issues

I'm running xMII 12.0 SP2 on NW 7.0 SP13 and I have some questions and comments.
    1. In the Message Processing Rules - Parameters section, what does the "Value" mean?  And why does it have to be set to "ReceivedMessageXML" for the "Name" checkbox to remain checked?  Is this some internal xMII parameter name which the message processor uses to map the input parameter?  It it must be "ReceivedMessageXML" why have it at all?  Are there other valid Values?
    2. Also in Message Processing Rules, there are some strange browser issues.  In IE 7, if you create a new Rule all the fields are cleared and server name defaults to the first choice in the combo.  If you look at the Message Type radio buttons, the IDOC button is missing.  You have to select a transaction before the button appears.  This doesn't occur in Firefox 2.0
    3. Still in Message Processing Rules with Firefox 2.0, when you click "New" rule, the category/transaction fields remain  from the previous rule (depending on whether the previous rule was a category or transaction type rule).  In IE 7, clicking "New" clears those fields.
    4. There's a browser issues in the portal too.  It works fine in IE 7, which is likely the officially supported browser, but in Firefox 2.0, the the top level portal items cannot be expanded to show their contents.  I'm guessing Firefox is not a supported browser...
    5. We ran the latest migration tool against our 11.5 code - approximately 70 transactions, a couple dozen irpts, javascript, images, 100 or so query templates and a smattering of display templates and it worked flawlessly.  I noticed that the migrated IDOC listener rules are named "Rule 1", "Rule 2", etc.  However, you cannot save rules with spaces in their names.  Is this intentional?  We copied/renamed them all anyway to match our naming scheme.
    6. Does the xMII Best Practices document address naming conventions of some of these new xMII 12.0 features?  e.g. should message rule names have the company name as a prefix such as "Visiprise_DMO100_MATMAS"?
    Thanks much!

Partha, thanks for the response.  If you have a minute, I have a few more questions/comments:
    1. Are there other input message parameters available besides "ReceivedMessageXML"?
    2. If not, and you can only send in the "ReceivedMessageXML", why do you need to set the Value column to "ReceivedMessageXML"?  Isn't the checkbox enough to indicate which transaction input parameter you want the message XML mapped to?
    3. you say "if u select the check box against one or more transaction input params..." - why would you ever select more than one?  Isn't the entire message payload going to be sent as an XML type parameter?
    4. I like the idea of being able to set other input parameter values from the message rule.  The trick is to not check their checkbox, right?
    Thanks,

    Issue described below,
One user has created substitution rule by selecting task type "All" and "Fill In For me" option.
So, as per the standard process this is visible in assignee's login in UWL under "Other users' Sunstitution rule section".
But here problem is in this section there are two line items with same user name and task type, one for "Take Over" and another for "End Take Over".
But as these both are from same user and for "All" type of tasks, it should have only one entry. and both "Take Over" and "End Take Over" should be operated from one entry and two entries of same type is not required, Screenshot is attached here with,

  • Exchange 2007 - Exchange 2013 Mailbox Migration Issues

Exchange 2013 -  Mail Flow is working.   OWA Access is great.   We have issues connecting Outlook 2010 Clients.  If I create a new user and mailbox Outlook 2010 works fine.   However, if we migrate a user's mailbox to the new Exchange
2013 server.  Outlook Web (OWA) works and mail flow but "OUTLOOK 2010 can not connect to the new server"  There is something different about a newly created account and a migrated account.  Any help would be great.   I did check
inheritance in AD and it was on for these accounts.  This occurs with any account migrated to the new server.

    1. Could you double check your Exchange 2007 Internal Autodiscover URI - it should be pointing to Exchange 2013. All clients should be receiving their autodiscover config from the Exchange 2013 server. Based on the client's mailbox location, Exchange 2013
generates and provides the correct information.
    2. If the autodiscover URI is "autodiscover.yourdomain.com" and you've configured Split-Brain DNS or Pin-Point DNS zones on the local network, make sure the name is resolved to Exchange 2013 internal IP address.

  • A specific bug in Smart Mailbox Rules in Apple Mail on OS X Yosemite

    Steps to reproduce:
    - Define a Smart Mail Box rule as shown below in screenshot.
    - Change the value 7 to 2. So it will be 2 months.
    - Close the dialog box.
    - Right click on Smart Mailbox and select Edit Smart Mailbox. The dialog still says 7. The 2 never Saves.
Looks like a bug in Apple Mail.

    It's already a known bug.

  • Adding Unknown computers resources by direct membership rule issue

    Hi, everybody!
Finally, i've got issue discrabed here
    http://blog.coretech.dk/kea/collections-not-being-refreshed-in-configmgr-2012-r2/
In situation with large count of primary sites and unknown computers accounts (two for each site certainly),  it's placed to be a big problem deploying task sequences to unknown computers...The comfort and rigth decision in
my thought is deploying tasks to site's unknown collection that contains two of all unknows (only each site x86 and x64 account) directly. But after creating those/that collections/collection per sites becomes alive previously noticed trouble....How
can we add/devide unknown computers for deploying tasks on them....Situations with availiable lists of all task sequences (as you know right that occurs while deploying tasks to  unkonow built-in collection) of all hierarchy in installing process misleads
primary sites sccm admins....there are situations with starting wrong tasks (belongs not to their site unknowns).....
I repeat, adding each sites unkonws to separate collection directly occurs upper link problem...
    Is any idea, guys?

Jason, it is above 20 sites...
I've noticed one thing: when i use collection adding direct membership rule wizard using "unknown computer" and it's "site code" like criteria, collecton working fine. As soon as, i use console's "adding to existing collection"
capability clicking by right mouse click on one of the unknowns...it's gonna to be fail to update in previously described way.....

  • Business Rule Issue in Planning

    Hi All,
I am working on a business rule and I ve tried doing it many ways but still unable to achieve the desired results. Please find the BR below:-
    FIX(@CHILDREN("Vendor Expenses")
    ,{Scenario},@Relative("Year",0),"No VendorCategory")
    {UPKVendor}
    IF (@ISUDA({UPKVendor},Master))
    {UPKMasterVendor}= @MEMBER(@CONCATENATE("V",@NAME({UPKVendor})));
    {ToVersion}->@IDescendants({UPKMasterVendor}) = {FromVersion}->@IDescendants({UPKMasterVendor})
    ELSE
    {ToVersion}->{UPKVendor}={FromVersion}->{UPKVendor};
    ENDIF
    ENDFIX
    Assumptions :-
{UPKVendor} is a runtime prompt of type "Member" who's value is initiated from the web form (Vendor Dimension which is tagged with UDA's to identify the type of project)
    {UPKMasterVendor} is a runtime prompt of type "Member" who's value is constructed by concatenating "V" to the {UPKVendor}
{ToVersion} & {FromVersion} are runtime prompt's as well and the user can select the values for these prompts as part of the business rule.
    Desired Results:-
IF A VENDOR IS A "MASTER" Vendor, WHICH IS IDENTIFIED USING THE UDA
THEN COPY THE UPKMASTERVENDOR AND IT's DESCENDANTS FROM THE ONE VERSION (FROMVersion) to ANOTHER VERSION (TOVersion)
For some reason, the calc manager is not formulating @IDescandants({UPKMasterVendor})
    {ToVersion}->@IDescendants({UPKMasterVendor}) = {FromVersion}->@IDescendants({UPKMasterVendor})
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Cz

    Hi,
The issue here is that you are trying to assign a member string in a variable on runtime which is not quite possible in Calc Script language. As discussed here number of times and once more quite recently, Calc Script does not support object type (including string) assignment. You can only assign numeric values to members and variables alike. You should try something like @Match function or If condition to achieve what you are doing. Another issue in your script is that you use @Descendants in an equation. You should use @Descendants to restrict the boundaries of your calculation (IF(@ISMBR..., FIX etc) but not in equations.
Just to give an idea, have a look at below sample:
    IF (@ISUDA({UPKVendor},Master))
    IF(@ISMBR(@Descendants((@MEMBER(@CONCATENATE("V",@NAME({UPKVendor})))))
    {ToVersion}= {FromVersion};
    ENDIF
    ENDIF
    Cheers,
    Alp

  • Mailbox Move Issues and Errors - Exchange 2010 to 2013

I'm trying to move mailboxes from 2010 to 2013, but I'm experiencing a lot of issues.
My move batches keep hanging (stalled) for minutes and hours on end, and I can't seem to keep them going consistently.
I have two DAG's, one for Archive boxes, and one for Primary mailboxes. Each DAG has three members with DB copies of each DB. The npdes and the clusters themselves are up and healthy. However, at random some of the DB's Content Index state will go to Failed
or SuspendedandFailed. At which point I force a catalog refresh and DB index update, and it goes to healthy.
I've created the "ContentSubmitters" AD group (and assigned it permissions), reset the Search and Host controller services on each server, and restarted the Replication service. I also deleted and recreated the Index for each DB prior to restarting
services. No dice. I've also already moved the system mailboxes over to the 2013 databases.
I'm also getting some "Transient" errors in the user move log, things like this:

    Hi
I would suggest you to run the below command for this "My move batches keep hanging (stalled) for minutes and hours on end" issue and see the result
Get-MoveRequest -Identity "Mailbox Name" | Get-MoveRequestStatistics -IncludeReport | FL Report
Just check if the MRS health is fine by running the below command
Test-MRSHealth -Identity "CAS Server" -MonitoringContext $true | Export-CliXml "C:\temp\CAS_MRSHealth.xml" and look at the xml file to get more information
When I run the Test command against either of my CAS servers, I get: " 'EXCH1' does not have the right Exchange Server version or role required to support this operation."
Run i run that command against any of the mailbox servers, it completes and generates the XML file, but I'm not sure what I need to be looking for within that file.
The first command spits out a ton of data, here's a little excerpt:
