Main Menu is blank!?

This may be a dumb question, but when I open up Garageband, the complete right side of the main menu is blank. There is no options for me to choose "electric guitar, songwriting, podcasts, etc." How do I get these logos back on there?

This happened to me and, while you may be able to fix with minimal effort (try throwing out both GB preferences, repair permissions and see if it works), I had to uninstall and reinstall GB!
If you need to do that as well, here's how.
Uninstall by:
• removing GB receipts (at the hard drive level)
• removing GB preferences (at the user level)
• removing the Caches folder (at the user level - it will grow back)
• remove the GB application
Install by:
• selecting only GB from your install disk (deselect other apps)
• making sure to select all additional GB content
• install
Then:
• the usual... repair permissions, restart computer, throw salt over shoulder, boot up GB.

My MacBook wouldn't go to sleep, it keeps loading, so I have to turn it off. When I turn it on a blank screen comes on, I shut the lid and open it and the main menu screen comes up but the cursor won't work for awhile. Then, eventually, the cursor will work and everything is fine. Hmmm?

Blank Main Menu

Hi All,
Some of my users have this issue.
They are logged into SAP B1 2007B. They have been working on the same login for sometime. Doing Sales Order, Sales Quotation, Picklist and etc.
Sometime (not all the time), the user finds that their main menu is displayed blank. They are not able to view The modules like Sales - A/R, Financials, Purchasing - A/P, Inventory etc. But users still sees the 3 tabs (modules / Drag Relate and My Menu).
Has anyone come across this type issue?

This issue is inconsistent.
There is no need to reset the User FormSettings according to Authorisation.
if the user logout and login again, the Main Menu will show the options again. (without resetting the Form).
Apparently, this customer site is having lots of problems in their performance speed. We are not able to identify where is the cause of problem.

Page Forward & Reverse buttons do not work & are "grayed-out" after upgrading to, as is the Main-Menu Items such as File-Edit-view etc...

After upgrading to Firefox 3.6.12 all functionality appeared to be intact. Then after a few days it lost the ability to "page forward" or to "page back" and are "grayed-out". Additionally, the Main menu items such as File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools & Help are also grayed-out and non-functioning.
Also, the "Search Window" does not search, Web Searches need to be performed from within the URL window instead, for some crazy reason. If the URL window is blank when I enter a search into the actual search window the following appears in the URL window, "Search Bookmarks and History", which makes no sense.
I have noticed similar complaints in this Forum in the past but I have not seen any posted resolution to these issues. Is there a solution?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br />

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

When I stop a movie, it doesn't go back to the main menu.

I am experiencing a very frustrating situation.
I have burned a DVD with 2 short movies on it.
When I play either of them all the way through, after they're over, it returns automatically to the main menu, which is what I want.
However, when I STOP either of them anywhere during the playing, it does NOT return to the main menu. It just stays on a black screen.
This situation happens on my Mac DVD Player, and also on external DVD players connected to a TV.
Let's say I am watching the 1st movie, I don't like it and I want to watch the 2nd one on the same DVD. I logically press STOP, but it doesn't bring me back to the main menu. If I press "Menu" or "title", it doesn't work either.
Is there something on the "Map function" window that I should do?
If not, is there any other solution?

Ok, don't press STOP, just press "menu" or "title" without pressing stop.
BTW, I tested both a commercial DVD (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade) and and a iDVD disk in my Panosonic player and on my Mac with the Apple DVD player.
On the Panosonic Player: If I press Stop on either DVD, I go to a blank screen. If I press menu once and wait a sec or two, both DVDs go back to the main menu.
On the Apple DVD player: If I press Stop on either DVD, I go to a blank screen, and pressing "menu" gives me the "not permitted" warning for both DVDs.....
So It seems like fro me, iDVD works just like the commercial DVD on both the Mac and the DVD player.....

Doesn't return to main menu after slideshow

I put together some photos in iPhoto and then used the export to iDVD command to create a DVD of the slide show. I watched the slideshow all the way through in the preview mode in the iDVD app, and when the slideshow was finished, it went back to the main menu. Then I burned a DVD of it and put it in my home DVD player, and when it gets to the end of the slideshow it just stops and shows the screen on my TV like there is no DVD in the player - the blue screen with the DVD logo. I tried putting the DVD in my other computer and it returned to the main menu after the slideshow from the DVD, so the problem seems to just be with my Panasonic home DVD player.
I also have a movie on there that I created in iMovie. When that plays on my home DVD player it returns to the main menu when it is finished.
Any reason why this is doing this and what I can do about it? Since my internal DVD burner went bust, I'm using an external DVD burner, but I can't imagine that would have anything to do with it.

Okay, I figured it out. After much heartache and frustration I finally figured it out. I couldn't quite accept the fact that it may have been due to the type of DVD I was using - especially when you can't go out and buy just one blank DVD.
Anyhow, after getting frustrated with iDVD, I decided to try putting the project together using DVD Studio Pro 3. What I noticed is that, when trying to build a slideshow, I couldn't use more than 99 photos. I actually had 101 photos in my slideshow. So, I went back to iDVD and took out 2 photos so that I had a total of 99 in the project. Then, when I played it in my home DVD player, it worked fine. It went back to the main menu after completing the slideshow.
So, moral of the story is, in iDVD 6, you can't use more than 99 photos in your slideshow.

Unlinking main menu pages?

I am working on one of my first sites using Adobe Muse. I apologize in advance if I do no communicate my problem well, as I am still learning the terminology.
When creating the home page, I used a menu widget to create the main menu. I like the way it looks and how it functions for the most part. The problem is that when I initially began work on the design, each of the Main Menu pages was going to have content of its own in addition to a submenu, but now most of the Main Menu pages wont have actual content, but act more as a catagory for the submenus, if that makes sense.
For example, here is a link to the site as it exists today:

For the first tab, "Our Clinic", the sub menu's pages all have content, but if you click on "Our Clinic" it is a blank page.
Is there a way I can unlink the "Our Clinic" tab to the "our clinic" page so that it can act more as a catagory header?

Audibooks and Podcasts main menu items screw things up!

I'll apologize in advance if this has been covered before. I'm new to the forum and I searched around and didn't find anything.
Ok, I've got a weird bug going on. I have a 4GB 2nd Gen iPod Mini. I have the latest (1.4.1) software. I only just began noticing this issue because I just began subscribing to and listening to podcasts last week. Normally, I listen to lots of audiobooks.
Here is my issue:
-I have had "Audiobooks" on my main menu. I just added "Podcasts" to my main menu.
-If I choose "Podcasts" from the main menu, and then go back and go into "Audiobooks", it is a blank list.
-If I then go to Music>>Audiobooks, they are there.
-After choosing Music>>Audiobooks above, I can then view them when I go to "Audiobooks" off of the main menu.
-However, if I DO go to Audiobooks on the main menu, then the list of Podcasts dissappears from the "Podcasts" menu option on the main menu.
-However, if I go to Music>>Podcasts, they are all listed there. And after selecting Music>>Podcasts, they will now appear magically on the Podcasts main menu option.
-Unfortunately, if I go to Podcasts on the main menu, my audiobooks disappear from my Audiobooks main menu item.
AHAHHHHHHHH!!!!! It *****. Basically, it will always work if I choose either Audiobooks or Podcasts from the Music submenu. But if I choose either from the main menu it causes the OTHER to have all the items in it disappear!!!
Has anyone else noticed this??!?

yes.. my audiobooks are showing up under Music/Audiobooks.. and missing from the main men audiobooks, where they used to be. Some kinda bug, as they used to be there. Most of the are from Audible

PLEASE HELP!!! Main Menu is Invisible?!

I am experiencing a strange problem where everything looks fine in the "Simulator" but upon "Build and Format" my main menu becomes invisible in the output disc. The button highlights and menu transitions are all there, but the menu graphic itself does not appear, instead there's just a blank, black screen. Again, in the simulator everything is there, so I'm stumped. What could be causing this to happen???

I would also check just to be sure that your file is 720x480, at the correct pixel aspect ratio, and that none of your layers extend beyond the bounds of your canvas (just select all and crop in photoshop).
I usually have no problems working with layered photohsop files, although I prefer to flatten the backgrounds as much as possible, so as not to leave the quality of the composited layers to the mercy of DVDSP's mpeg compression. Also, I always make sure all type and layer effects have been flattened out as well. I find this very useful for chapter menus - I can share one background and have the different chapter thumbnails and buttons on separate layers for each menu, usually sharing one overlay layer as well.
If you still can't figure out why the menu is invisible, try taking a menu that works, do a save as, and paste your troublesome art into the new file. (the blunt instrument method)

Return to Main Menu

I have several Captivate projects that launch from a Main
Menu project. In the Project Preferences, Project end options, I
have selected to end these projects by launching the Main Menu
project. I published all projects as Flash files because I plan to
distribute them via CD. When I click the Exit button on the skin
playback controls, I get the following message: "The Web page you
are viewing is trying to close the window. Do you want to close
this window?" If I click Yes, I exit from the published Captivate
project. I have two questions: 1) how can I either keep the Main
Menu project open underneath the other modules (projects) or return
to it once I exit the other modules, and 2) how can I get rid of
the Exit question?

Hi Evelita, and welcome to the Community!
The warning you see is there to keep you from "sawing off the
branch you are sitting on", so to speak, in Internet Explorer. It
only appears if the instance of IE you are viewing the movie in is
the only instance open. If your movie is launched from a menu in
another IE window - and the menu window is left open - you will not
be shown the warning notice.
So the "fix" is to have a menu-movie or a menu-HTM page, and
when the user starts to view a movie from the menu, have him/her
view it in a "New" window, leaving the menu open beneath it.
To do that, when you use a click-box, button, or in your
case, the Project Start and End options, look at the right side of
the blank where you enter the movie you want to jump to and you
will see a carat, or downward-facing half-diamond. Click it and
select "New" as the window type to use.

I have a new MacBook(2012). Being a new Mac user, I do not know what to do when Safari doesn't open at all. The icon just bounces up and down and when the cursor is on the top main menu bar it is the spinning rainbow wheel. Any ideas for help?

When I try to open safari the icon stats bouncing and then nothing happens other than the cursor turning to a spinning rainbow wheel when it hoovers on the top main menu bar. I have shut down and restart several times. My safari worked yesterday and then today this, but with. I indication of a problem. I can't even get the browser window to open so that I can clear caches or reset anything. When I opened my computer this time I don't even get a bouncing icon. No recognition of selecting the program at all. If I go to spotlight and try to open safari from here I still get no response. Can you help?

If you have moved the Safari application from the Applications folder, move it back.
As far as the cache goes, there's a work around for that when you can't empty the Safari cache from the menu bar.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.aple.Safari.Cache.db. Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Try Safari.

Voice memo in main menu

Recently the voice memo option put itself into my main menu after either a sync or a soft reset. Now I can't get rid of it, since it's not in the extras menu as something to check/uncheck. Do I need to restore my iPod to fix this?

Have you tried another soft reset of the iPod again? Usually doing so clears up this issue. Otherwise, if you have, then yes, your next step would be to restore the iPod via iTunes.

A Voice Memo item has appeared in main menu and I cannot remove it. When I go to *settings>main menu* no such item is listed so I cannot deselect it. Any ideas appreciated...

depends on how old your Mac is ...
newer machines do not come along with a pre-installed iDVD (.. and iWeb ..) anymore; you have to purchase a boxed version of iLife11.
if somehow iDVD is installed on your Mac, you should find it in your Apps-folder
(or use Spotlight, search for iDVD) ...-

There are some keyboard commands (shortcuts) you can use instead of having to go to the Apple menu -
Control-Eject          This brings up the Restart-Sleep-Cancel-Shutdown window.
Command-Option-Eject          This puts the machine to sleep.
Command-Control-Eject          This closes all apps and restarts the machine.
Command-Option-Control-Eject          This closes all apps and shuts the machine down.
