It is completely possible, it's just a hassle and time consuming. But so is constant crashes - like I say, if your system has got into a bad state, sometimes it's the only way.
Have you tried reinstalling quicktime and proapp support?
I am working on a project and have not time to take a break with logic....
Then finish the project first, and when you get some down time, experiment. You can always clone your current system, or rebuild a new system on a different drive so you lose nothing.
The actual crash file is to long with some 37 or more threads which cant be put here..
Sure, but you only need to post the header, and there will be only one crashed thread...

This is all the information from when I fist see an wireless interface.
All, I can tell is that my wlp5s0u1 doesn't go down, but a few seconds before I plug in my wireless bridge, or enp4s0, my 'Internet stops...' Or I can't search google, and my youtube stops streaming, conky says that about 30bytes get transfered from that point on, and there is no errors?!
I'm not on a laptop, and my device's power saver is set to off. And as I'm not getting the second error I don't know how to fix this.

Random Disconnection From My Wireless Access Point

I got my MacBook a few weeks ago, wand I'm loving it... for the most part.
Info: I've been using my Linksys WRT54G router for years. I've never had a problem. I currently have a desktop Mac connected to it along with my MacBook, and the connection on the Mac is fine.
*The problem:* My MacBook doesn't hold a steady connection to my router, even when I'm just mere feet away.
*What happens:* I have a very strong connection on my WiFi with the built-in AirPort. Then, a few seconds later, all of the 4 bars drop to 0 for a few seconds, jump back to 4, go back down to 0... you get the picture. I find this frustrating, as the internet may shut down for a minute at a time, regain connection for a few seconds, and then lose connection after about 10 seconds. I am unable to use iChat (it shuts down whenever I lose connection), or easily browse the internet.
*I know it's not the router. My desktop Mac connects with ease. Should I take my MacBook to a Genius Bar?*

Decisions with fresh install in windows 7 64 bit

Hi community,
I'm setting up a new laptop running windows 7 64 bit, and I'm trying to decide the best way to serve Application Express.
I count 5 main options
1) Embedded Gateway
2) Install the complete 11g "companion" tier
3) Use Apex Listener EA with WebLogic Server
4) Use Apex Listener EA with Tomcat
5) Use Apex Listener EA with OC4J
I don't want to use the embedded gateway, and I want to keep things fairly light on the laptop.
This page offered concise setup instructions for the three options with the Apex Listener

But after trawling many comments on one major thread, I can't determine the pros and cons for these options. I was wondering if anyone can provide a link or information with concise details why you'd choose one option over the other?
Once Apex Listener moves past EA, will it perhaps be advantageous to have selected one over the other? Is it easy to roll back installation of certain options?
I'm leaning towards WLS, since that has ties with othe Oracle components, but Tomcat seems thin an non-invasive for my laptop.

I've ended up using the new production release of Apex Listener with Glassfish.
Good work on the new installation instructions, they are much more informative.
My major hurdle with Glassfish was attempting to use the JDK that came with 11gr2. It took a colleague to spot I was using 1.5.x instead of 1.6.0.20 - I sourced this version from my Windows 7 64bit install.
Now to attempt installing 10gR2 with Apex3.2 on the same box

Extract pages using control click not working in acrobat 9.4.5

I have been using Adobe Acrobat Standard 9.4.5 for about 2 years to scan and archive documents. Usually, I scan a stack of invoices then select pages by clicking on the first one, then holding down the control key and selecting additional pages. Suddenly, this selection method is no longer working. I click on the first page, then hold the control key down and click on the next (but the first page is then released).
I am not sure if I accidently changed a setting or something. Control selecet works in other windows programs.
Please help, I use this feature daily and do not know what happened.

The basic problem is that this program, like all of the JMF examples, is very haphazardly coded. From what I can gather somewhere in the excecution of the program there was a major thread conflict. JMF is not thread safe and requires the use of wait for state methods. In all honesty, I have never had a sample program compile and run succesfully as is. I think it would just be easier to re-write this code, except this time use the StateHelper class which can be found in the JMF guide. The StateHelper class manages all of the Player and Processor threads so you don't have to worry about it. I wish I could be of more help here but I think this is just a case of some sloppy code.

Stabilizing

I am still try to finish post production in Premiere Elements 10 (an endless prcoess for me) and I wanted to get this board's opinion on stabilization. I purchased a great software program called Mercalli Easy Video Stabilizer 2.0 and I feel it does an amazing job at stabilizing video. (we had to shoot afew scenes without the tripod) On the down side , i noticed a small but definitely noticeable decrease in quality which I am guessing can be attributed to the folloing 3 reasons in varying degree:
1. It's not a plug-in so i ahve to export the section out of my project to add the stabilizing effect and then import the updated fil eback in
2 There are no specific output settings on mercalli, jst wmv and mpeg so I am saving to wmv, in order to maintain the hd, but i do not believe i am maintainig the full hd project settings of 1920x1080. Then tack on reason #1 and I am creating a second generation video with settigns that do not match.
3. It requires a zoomig effect to stabilize and I believe that zoom wil always decrease quality to soe extent?
Still, all an all, not a horrible decrease in quality so maybe it's a good tradeoff to get the superior stabilization effect. I do not believe that I will get the same smoothing with the built-in adobe effect but I wanted to get a senee if people feel the quality of the video will be noticeably better after stabilizing within Adobe's effects.

That 1/2 wmv display related to a recent Windows Update kb has been a major thread topic.
Check out the Announcement at the top of this forum for the kb details. It should look like this
MicroSoft has issued an Update for Windows, that is causing problems with Displays. The following is from Talbot McInnis, who tracked down this problem, and offers a fix:
"MS bulliten MS13-057. Specifically, on XP kb2834904 and on windows 7 kb2803821 is causing a problem
For us, it occurs when decoding WMV9 files. Not all uses of WMV decoding are affected, but I confirmed that when connecting the WMV decode DLL to a sample grabber for RGB32 video, the frames arrive black on top, so that points directly to decoding internals of the WMV Decode dll.
You can uninstall these windows updates to resolve your problem."
There are several threads on the problem that this Update is causing on the PrE and PrPro Forums, so one can get more details. So far, there is not another fix from either MS, or Adobe.

Major helpful suggestions include....
a. For now setting Windows Updates for notification and approval before any downloading and installing of them
b. If you do catch the offending kb in Important Updates, right click it and select Hide. That is supposed to keep it from coming back

And those are just the major threads on this topic on one forum.....It was certainly going to come out Jan 31, Feb 4, Feb 10, Feb 24, Feb 28, Mar 4, Mar 10 and now Mar 17.
And it's astounding that they are all getting unbelieveably torqued at Verizon for RUMORS that Verizon didn't even start. I am at a loss of words over that one (as well as waiting for the Droid X2 or the Bionic!).

Import WMA into CS5.5

I know it has been removed in CS5.5 but is there any way to get it back?
I have some old wma audio clips which I'm forced to use.
It's ok to remove export to wma ability but reading support for many different formats is always good to have.
Is there some plugin to read wma in CS5.5 or a way to copy/paste wma import support files from Audition 3?

Mitch, you are quite mistaken about that. Audition 3 will save to whatever you last used, and there is no format default for sessions. In fact, unless you're using wma lossless, saving session audio as wma could be disastrous because it adds noises and distortions typical of lossy codecs. So stick with uncompressed wavs!
So far as opening AA3 sessions, you can do that by saving the session as .xml from AA3, then opening that in AA4/CS5.5. However, track effects are not ported.
As to that, and why all this is the way it is, you ought to grab a cold one, sit back and get comfy, and read through some of the major threads posted here recently. Those answers and far more are right here at your fingertips.

Get a grip people!

You know what, i've read some crazy forums over the years and witnessed whining to the unbelievable, but this forum proper takes the cake!
I upgraded via the flashing of the nordic firmware. Prior to that I loaded the blog pages daily for months to see what insight Sony (and SE before) would give on the updates they said they'd be kind enough to put through.
We were given regular updates on the alpha and beta testing roms through the developer blogs and reports from other web pages. Near the reported time for the update, Sony published two articles, one explaining the strains that GOOGLE'S ics update was putting on their phone lineup and another explaining how the rollout would happen. They explained that due to the impact the new software would have on their 12 month old range of phones, they would NOT push the update out OTA (over the air), but via the update companion. This way you could make an educated (yes, educated, as they gave you all the information up front) decision about whether or not to apply the update.
Sony never HAD to give you an update. They could do what others are doing and only update a handful of handsets and just leave it at that. I'm certain most hardware vendors would rather you just went out and bought a new handset with the currrent software already baked into it, then do the same thing this time next year when Jellybean or Key Lime Pie comes along. From the initial announcement way back (in october i think?), Sony have been open and honest about how they're going forward.
For those of you making repeat threads throughout the forum, Sony have not broken your phone. If anything, you're to blame. You were given a clear choice about installing the update. If Sony had pushed it through OTA like my GF's HTC Sensation (you think Sony phones have battery issues now... sheesh!), then maybe they'd have a bit more to answer for. But they didn't and don't. Sure, there are a few bugs in the new software, but i'm certain there'll be an incremental update at some point to smooth them out before putting the 2011 Xperia range to bed.
So, in closing, before updating your phone, maybe look at what information there is available to you before connecting to the update software. And rather than making a whole new thread containing "Sony you broke my phone! launcher iz lagy, no facelock and gamze crash", think about firstly, YOU did this to your phone, you connected and downloaded that update, and secondly, why not add on to one of the more major threads, politely noting your problem and wait for a response.
I'm not a Sony fanboi, i've liked some products in the past and hated some, but people are really quite ridiculously misdrecting their anger here.
p.s. i didn't like the new launcher, i downloaded Nova Launcher free from the market...much better and looks like stock ICS

clearly sony did not differenciated the market between technical and non-technical customers while launching the 2011 flagships in the market, market strategy as it seem was, the very nicely and with every care they could master tagged the box of these products with "upgradable to ics", seriously there would be customers from a non techy background and they would not dig into the technical differences that might create any hurdles or limitations with the smooth running of an upgraded os. i guess as customers and going by what sony promised we have the right to demand value for our money, coz the reason why i spent money for my arc s is clearly different from why you spent your money for ur device. and the marketting path sony took was to be honest was manipulative, when i bought my arc s the only word came out from sony was about it will be upgraded and not about the limitations and drawbacks attached to it, and when any brand like sony promise somethig like this, well, it can be expected tht we will be given somewhat was clear and minimal issue filled update which certainly did nt happen as so many users are unhappy, every buyer of sony product has the right to show and throw their anger cz they paid and money is hard earned and in the open market people do expect vallue for money, am sorry but m not against sony, i have been a loyal customer, and neither i hv updated to ics but honestly i do feel tht the anger is justified, cz evn thougb the promise to update has been kept, yet the rational expectations attached with those promise were not met

Christmas Disaster...

My little sister this morning got an Ipod Nano. I have Itunes, but had to upgrade it to 7.0.2. I keep dowloading it, but when its time to downlad, there is an "Unkown Publisher" and then an error pops up saying C:/Documents and setting /[my name]/my documents/itunesSetyup.exe is not a valid Win32 Application
What am I suppose to do? I've already updated my windows xp today, hoping that it would fix the problem.

I'm with you i already replied to a major thread on this error. No one seems to know a concrete solution. I personally tried all of them but in vain. You you figure out i way i'd love to know how to get the error fixed.
