MAKE ITUNES WORK!!!!!

Question

After about a zillion attempts to install iTunes (both by downloading and by using the CD-ROM that came with my new iPod), I managed to get it to work.
Now, when I open/run iTunes, it lets me accept the EULA terms, but then tells me:
"The folder 'iTunes' cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the 'My Music" folder."
I've tried copying the iTunes folder and all its contents from "Program Files" to "[My User-Name]'s Music" but I get the same results.
I tried installing it on my Secondary Hard Drive (D:/ where My Documents is actualy located). Still the same.
No matter what I've tried (followed other advice i've seen in the forums, also with no help) I can't get this to work.
I'm getting to my last thread! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

Click on Start
Clin on Run
Type in "regedit" Enter
go to:
hkeycurrentuser - software - microsoft - windows - current version - explorer - shell folders
double click on 'My Music' and enter the path where your my music folder is located (usually C:/program files/documents and settings/[WINDOWS USERNAME]/my documents/my music)
and do the same in:
as above - windows - current version - explorer - USER shell folders
