Malformed URL when executing task flow

Dear Gurus,
when executing a recently created task flow in my project,after authentication, I get a 401 error message. I have applied the authenitcated-role in my task flow in jan-data.xml file, so this error does not make sense.
However, i have noticed that in the formed URL there is something strange. In the adf.tfId= part of the URL, the id of the task flow mentioned is different from the adf.tfDoc= part, where the actual XML file of the task flow is mentioned. The id of the task flow in adf.tfId belongs to another task flow.
Below, the created URL is depicted
http://127.0.0.1:7101/HERA-Gui-context-root/faces/adf.task-flow?adf.tfId=gui-authentication-flow&adf.tfDoc=/WEB-INF/advanced-authentication-flow.xml&_afrLoop=14818531247046&_afrWindowMode=0&Adf-Window-Id=w0&_adf.no-new-window-redirect=true
When I manually change the adf.tfId to the id of the task flow I want to run, the task flow runs normally.
Can somebody explain me what is wrong?

  • Getting error in using URL View in Task Flow

    Hi,
    Using Jdeveloper: 11.1.1.3.0
    What I am trying to achieve is that an ADF application can be bookmarked, and when it is open without a valid EBS login context, it should redirect it to the EBS login screen. In method initMainPage , I have code that determines if valid session exist or not. If not, then redirect to a login screen (which I trying to implement using URL View component).
    I am using a Bounded Task Flow. and the flow within is as follows:
    methodCall1 -> initMainPage (AM method) -> URL View
    For URL View, URL property is set to: #{MainPageContainerBean.ebsLogoutURL} . ebsLogoutURL is a String in MainPageContainerBean, with getter and setter as below.
    public String getebsLogoutURL() {
    return ebsLogoutURL;
    // return "/oracle/apps/flm/ekanban/common/ui/page/ParameterEntry.jsff";
    public void setebsLogoutURL(String ebsLogoutURL) {
    this.ebsLogoutURL = ebsLogoutURL;
    This task flow is part of a JSPX page. When I run the JSPX page, it give me the following error.
    <Feb 2, 2011 1:30:37 PM PST> <Error> <HTTP> <BEA-101020> <[ServletContext@4396218[app:ekanban module:ekanban-UI-context-root path:/ekanban-UI-context-root spec-version:2.5]] Servlet failed with Exception
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: Attempt to validate an already invalid RegionSite:
         at oracle.adf.view.rich.component.fragment.UIXRegion$RegionSiteImpl.validate(UIXRegion.java:978)
    Please suggest a resolution or workaround to the issue.
    Thanks,
    Anoop

    Now it is working. I didnt know that I needed to create getter and setter for the string that i refer to in the EL. Thanks for your help.

  • SavePointException occurring when closing task flow ran as dialog

    Hi,
    JDeveloper: 11.1.1.5
    Whenever I close a task flow that is run as a dialog, either using the 'X' button at the top, or by executing a return activity, I am getting the following exception. • Problem with back button when using task flow to navigate through pages

    I am using unbounded task flow to navigate through my pages
    in page2 I added back button so I can back to page1 using the action A2
    task flow 1
    page 1 -----A1-------> page 2
    page2 ----A2--------> page1
    the problem when I used page2 in another task flow
    task flow 2
    page 3 -----A3------> page2
    page 2 -----A4 -----> page3
    here when I click on back button he take me to page1
    how can I back to page3 ???????

    For this you have to know where the user came from when he navigated to page2. You can e.g. store the back target in a variable in the session or pageflow scope (when the user navigates from page1 or page3 to page2), then you bind the back button of page 2 to the stored variable.

  • How to pass parameter through URL to bounded task flow with page fragment

    I want to pass parameter to Bounded Task Flow With Page Fragment trough URL
    as I start this taks flow with router and according to this Param I will rout the user.
    I added input param to taks flow named direction and make the task flow called URL invoke url-invoke-allowed
      <input-parameter-definition id="__41">
          <name id="__42">direction</name>
          <value>#{pageFlowScope.direction}</value>
          <class>java.lang.String</class>
        </input-parameter-definition>but I don't know how to add this to the JSPX that I will add the bounded task flow Inside.
    and How to pass this from URL

    Hi,
    url-invoke-allowed is only required if the task flow itself is directly accessible from a browser (which is not the case at all if the task flow uses page fragments). To pass input parameters to a task flow that is embedded in a region and that has input parameters, you define the input parameters on the taskFlow Id that is created in the PageDef file of the containing page. To learn ADF task flows, have a look at the videos below. They also contain a sample for passing parameters to a region

  • How to make bean for embedded task flow stay in scope when calling TF?

    I have a bounded task flow with page fragments: ManageRecommendationRuleTF.xml that defines a single managed bean with pageFlowScope: ManageRecommendationRuleBean.java
    This task flow has one page ManageRecommendationRule.jsff that embeds two other bounded task flows as regions: ManageRuleTF.xml and ManageRuleConditionsTF.xml
    Each of these task flows defines a single manage bean with pageFlowScope: ManageRuleBean.java and ManageRuleConditionsBean.java
    From the ManageRecommendationRuleTF I call a bounded task flow: SelectTargetProductsTF.xml. When this task flow returns, the ManageRuleBean.java and ManageRuleConditionsBean.java are re-created. Why? I want the state of the beans before the SelectTargetProductTF is called. I do not want to resort to making this a session bean.
    Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.5.0_GENERIC_110409.0025.6013

    Hi,
    the calling task flow is stacked when calling another task flow (using task flow call activity). When the called task flow is returning to the caller then the expected behavior is that the caller task flow is re-established. If this is not what you see, please provide a test case and file a Service Request with support to investigate why this is not working for you. You could e.g. add log messages to the task flow finalizers to see if when navigating off to the called task flow the two region task flows are finalized. If the regions are dynamic regions with the bean in view scope, try and change this to pageFlowScope

  • Retain value of component when navigate in Task Flow

    Hi,
    my english isn't very good
    I use jdveloper 11.1.1.3.0
    I define a bounded task flow and 3 view in this btf to show 3 page fragment. in each view I put 2 Input Text component.
    the problem is when I navigate from one view to other view and back, the value of Input Texts is reset. Input Text doesn't bind to anything.
    is any way to retain the value of Input Text and other components when navigate through views without any binding?

    Hi,
    One solution might be to store your values at pageFlowScope. By doing this your variables are going to be alive and with the same values as long as you are inside your bounded task flow. For example,
    You can create your Java Bean and have something like:
    String variable1;
    String variable2;
    String variable3;
    String variable4;
    setters and getters for those.
    In your fragments the values of the inputText would be #{pageFlowScope.myBean.variable1.inputValue} and so on.
    Since your bean is created once when your task flow is created (choose pageFlowScope) your variables will remain the same while your taskflow is alive.
    hope this helpsIf his components are part of view objects, this shouldn't be necessary since a submit (the navigation buttons) would do the trick.

  • Implement commit,rollback,cancel popup when swapping task in dynamic region

    Hello,
    I have been trying to implement this functionality when I swap task flows in a dynamic region....
    A popup/dialog to be displayed with the following options (assuming there are changes to be saved on the task flow being swapped out)
    Commit - save the changes on the the outgoing task flow and continue to bring in the new task flow
    Rollback - cancel the changes on the the outgoing task flow and continue to bring in the new task flow
    Cancel - remain on the outgoing task flow and do not bring in the new task flow
    If i click on a button within the outgoing task flow, it is possible to determine the condition of the view object, determine if there are pending changes and display such a dialog, the problem is if that the navigation within the dynamic region is being performed from outside the region, we are advised against using task flow return activities when using bounded task flows within regions ( section 17.1.8 of fusion dev guide for 11.1.1.1.0 ) so the only thing i can think of is building a finalizer routine for the task flow. While this does get executed when the task flow is swapped out... how can i display the dialog from there, and stop execution of the finalizer and return to the original task flow if ultimately i want to cancel.
    Any ideas? other solutions?
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply Richard,
    I think this will probably be an important feature for anyone using the single page model, unless that model is not being encouraged/being discouraged. Unfortunately I'm not aware of the "How-to" you mentioned, but I would dearly LOVE to be. The project I am working on is in a relatively early stage, and this would be the time to put things in extension libraries, templates and the like. Especially if there is no official line on when a formal fix might be available, the plans not being firm and all...
    But thanks for the reply none the less... I'd still appreciate any further information if anyone has some form of solution.
    Cheers

  • Bounded Task Flow restart on complete

    Hi all,
    I am currently using a JSFF fragment inside a region in a show detail item. This fragment is also the start of a bounded task flow and currently displays all rows from a table.
    The task flow controls edit and create operations which navigates to another JSFF. I have commit and rollback return activities attached to this second JSFF but when the task flow finishes, the select one choice is empty.
    Ideally, I want the task flow to start over again and the user be presented with all the rows again.
    I have tried the refresh condition on the 'show detail item' but I still get the same behaviour.
    Is there a property in the bindings that is set once a task flow has been completed?
    Is there an easy way to restart the task flow once completed?
    Regards
    Jason
    Edited by: Jason@GW on 23-Sep-2010 00:44

    You can 'reset' the task flow from java code
    DCTaskFlowBinding tf = (DCTaskFlowBinding)JSFUtils.resolveExpression("#{bindings.myTaskflow1}");
    tf.getRegionModel().refresh(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance());You can put this code in, for example, regionNavigationListener and execute it when you detect return activity (or some other condition).
    Maybe this approach is less declarative, but it can be very useful in some cases.

  • How to invoke task flow navigation after closing inline popup?

    Using JDev 11.1.1.3; I have a commandButton that currently executes task flow navigation when pressed. I need however to invoke an inline popup from the button press before executing (conditionally) the task flow navigation. The Action setting on the button then needs to be removed, but it's not clear where to reinstate it. I have the button executing some managed bean code, which conditionally invokes the inline popup, and when the popup (contains af:dialog) is closed, I have some more managed bean code that determines whether the task flow navigation should occur or not. What I need to know is how to fire off the Action from the managed bean. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

    1. To add to Timo's solution:
    you can call those code from DialogListener like:
    public void dLstnr(DialogEvent dle){
    if("ok".equalsIgnoreCase(dle.getOutcome().toString())){
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    NavigationHandler nh = context.getApplication().getNavigationHandler();
    System.out.println("1");
    nh.handleNavigation(context, "", "go");
    2. As another solution:'
    you can have custom buttons and on one of then (say OK or Yes) you can call bean method like this as Action:
    public String actionMethod(){
    // DO YOUR LOGIC
    return "NEXT_TARGET";
    for Other button (say Cancel, NO) just close the popup.

  • Question of displaying Task Flow Region in Master-Details pattern

    We have a master-details page. There is a region on the details pane along with other widgets and the content of that details pane including the region depends on the row selection on the master table list.
    The first time page loads with no row selection on master table so this details pane displays nothing. When I select one row on the master table and the details pane and its region can display data of the row in master table properly.
    After several selection, I navigate to another page and then go back to this master-details page again, it automatically selects the row which was selected last time. And in the details pane, the region whose content was created basing a task flow call cannot display corresponding data of the default selected row while other widgets in the details pane can display corresponding data properly.
    The reason of having this problem is the region's parameter is generated before the selected row is determined. When the task flow call in page definition is parsed, the parameter of this task flow call is created before component binding of the master table. It means when the task flow call is parsed and generating the parameter, the ADF page believes there is no row selection of the master table because the component binding is null at that time.
    So my question is how to make the this task flow call for that region create the task flow call parameter after the component binding of the master table? Or is there any way to force a refresh of the region/task-flow-call after the render of response? Or is there anyway to disable this "auto-select" on the master table after navigating to other page?
    (My jdev version is JDEVADF_11.1.1.6.0_GENERIC_111205.1733.6192.1 )
    Edited by: user790224 on Sep 6, 2012 4:16 PM

    The reason we are using master-details patter here is it is designed in that way and the region is displaying the data of a selected row there.
    There is no master-details relationship on model layer. But the content of the region is from the result of several other Java API calls which call the task-flow from an external component.

  • Af:table filter date format : task-flow navigation issue

    hi
    When trying to use the date format configured on the Entity Object, with Format Type as Simple Date and Format as "dd-MM-yyyy", there seems to be a problem when using task-flows.
    The approach involves an explicitly configured attributeValues binding to use in f:validator and af:convertDateTime components in the af:inputDate in the filter facet, as discussed in the forum thread "af:table filter date format"
    at af:table filter date format
    I used JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0 to create the example application
    in http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/2010/TableFilterDateFormatIssueApp-v0.03.zip
    - The page filterEmp.jspx shows expected behaviour, the filter uses the configured date format and there is no problem when navigating to another page and back.
    see the screencast at http://screencast.com/t/CtQ9rsVFH3k
    - The page menuBTFPage.jspx allows for some navigation after using the filter resulting in the filter showing a date in the wrong format, using scenario (sc1)
    -- (sc1-a) : run menuBTFPage.jspx
    -- (sc1-b) : on "menu-btf : menu", click the "do go-filter-emp-btf" link
    -- (sc1-c) : on "filter-emp-btf : filterEmpFragment", filter on HireDate using "10-03-2005"
    -- (sc1-d) : click the "do goReturnSuccess" button
    -- (sc1-e) : back on "menu-btf : menu", click the "do go-filter-emp-btf" link again
    -- (sc1-f) : back on "filter-emp-btf : filterEmpFragment", see the HireDate filter value in the wrong format as "2005-03-10"
    -- (sc1-g) : click the "do goReturnSuccess" button again, which results in an error "The date is not in the correct format."
    see the screencast at http://www.screencast.com/t/ORHauBd3oQ
    questions:
    - (q1) Can the behaviour in scenario (sc1) be reproduced?
    - (q2) Why is the filter value in the wrong date format in step (sc1-f)?
    - (q3) What can be done to have the filter value consistently in the configured date format, so that errors as in step (sc1-g) can be avoided?
    many thanks

    hi
    First a short summary of relevant aspects of service request 3-2190488381:
    - development has reviewed bug 10193260
    - development identified some code where a pattern was not applied and started fixing the problem
    - out of the blue, development asked "Will clearing out the filter field completely when moving out of ataskflow be an acceptable behavior ?"
    - I pointed out some concerns (even in a phone call with development), but development did not see any alternative not "perceived to be very risky because of the current design", so the question whether the clearing-all-filter-fields approach would be acceptable became superfluous.
    - following this, bug 10193260 suddenly became an enhancement request (for reasons I still don't understand)
    - a workaround was suggested (for behaviour not perceived as a bug), "Clearing the search fields during taskflow exit in the backing bean (in the app)." for which I also received a modified version of my example application TableFilterDateFormatIssueApp-v0.04.zip with an implementation of the suggested workaround
    As an exercise to try an understand the suggested workaround (an because my example application seemed to have been modified using the currently yet-to-be-released JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0) I re-implemented it in the example application
    at http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/2010/TableFilterDateFormatIssueApp-v0.05.zip
    It has a filter-emp-workaround-btf task-flow with a method-call activity on a managed-bean method, responsible for clearing the search fields, resulting in behaviour where the error "The date is not in the correct format." does not occur,
    as can be seen in the screencast at http://screencast.com/t/Nq7TkkRQ
      public void clearFilterFields()
        BindingContainer vBindingContainer =
          BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
        DCBindingContainer vDCBindingContainer = (DCBindingContainer)vBindingContainer;
        DCDataControl vDCDataControl = vDCBindingContainer.getDataControl();
        ApplicationModule vApplicationModule = vDCDataControl.getApplicationModule();
        ViewObject vViewObject = vApplicationModule.findViewObject("EmployeesVOVI");
        ViewCriteriaManager vViewCriteriaManager = vViewObject.getViewCriteriaManager();
        vViewCriteriaManager.clearViewCriterias();
        vViewObject.clearCache();
      }Because the managed-bean method requires access to the ADF Model binding layer to get to the View Object instance used for the filtered table, the method-call activity has a page element configured in DataBindings.cpx referring to the same usageId as the page element for the page fragment showing the filtered table. So that both the method-call and view activity depend on one and the same Binding Container (e.i. PageDef file).
    The method-call activity, responsible for clearing the search fields, would need to be called before each task-flow-return activity.
    As there can be multiple view activities with multiple filtered tables in a bounded task-flow, would that result in multiple method-call activities responsible for clearing search fields (all to be called before each task-flow-return activity)?
    It looks like a more general/generic approach is desirable for the suggested workaround to be feasible.
    - (q5) Does the suggested workaround imply (as bug 10193260 is not a bug) that all bounded task-flows with filtered tables should implement it to avoid errors about formatting?
    thanks

  • Jump in special train stop in task flow ?

    Dear Taskflow man ;

  • JDev 11g:  Task Flows,Rich Client- some questions to the Oracle team

    Hello,
    We're currently involved (early stages) in a large project with a Jan-Mar 2008 pilot delivery timeframe - one heavily including end-user customizable workflow elements, to which the aforementioned JDev/ADF 11 features would be a great fit.
    Our plans so far were to go ADF with BC and include Shale or Spring WebFlow plus custom development to provide for the very same things that the feature-complete Task Flows will offer.
    Questions:
    1. Delivery timeframe - any unofficial pointers on the schedule for the next JDev/ADF releases?
    2. Platform compatibility - Will the framework (ADF) run on J2EE 1.3 (OAS 10.1.2.x) or does it require 1.4+?
    3. Design-time-at-runtime for Task Flows - Do we have it in the released bits? (Couldn't find it). Any pointers on how is it supposed to operate?
    4. Am I right to think that what we're seeing with Task Flows is (among other things) a piece of the replacement functionality for the decommissioned Oracle Workflow subsystem (which bit us, by the way, as it was part of our original architecture).
    5. Will Rich Client support older platforms than the currently supported IE7 and Firefox 2?
    Thanks for any and all pointers,

    Thanks Shay,

    Regarding my question 3 "Design time at runtime" - quoting from "JDeveloper 11g new features" at the above URL, under "ADF Task Flow". The third entry from the paragraph's end reads:
    'Support for customization of task flows at runtime using "design time at runtime"'.
    I was wondering what this is exactly - web-deployable editor to edit the flow definition after deployment?
    Re your point 4, product replacement - with the feature set described in the paragraph above, Task Flows is much more than a Web UI controller. With "save for later", transactions, flow abstraction/nesting, BPEL outcalls, conditional logic, method calls etc etc it probably covers 50% of a typical workflow package and 75% of an embeddable workflow library (audit trail/timeouts/persistence nonwithstanding). This made me wonder whether it is part of a bigger, yet-to-be-announced OAS feature. Especially if one also considers the "design-time-at-runtime" sentence listed above.
    Now, definition-wise, I guess it' s whether this feature set is considered half-full or half-empty :-)
    Thanks again,
    Thanassis

  • Http Request - error in URL when params contain spaces

    Hi friends , I invoke a servlet from a HTTP client using the GET method. I pass two Strings which contain spaces and non-english alphabets.
    I get malformed URL when I invoke the servlet with these parameters in the URL.
    Can someone please help and tell me how to pass spaces and special characters in the URL. Do I need to use some escape characters?
    TIA
    Harish

    You can encode the strings prior to passing them to the servlet as follows:
    String parm1="http://www.mySite.com/this includes spacees/test.htm";
    String param2=" what ever in non-english alphabets";
    parm1=URLEncoder.encode(parm1);
    parm2=URLEncoder.encode(parm2);
    ;o)
