Manual PL30 Documents & C/I Divestitures

Hi Group,
We're working to divest some companies at the end of a period in BCS 6.0.
We're left with a residual balance in COI clearing item (offset in retained earnings & dividends paid) that we're trying to clear down (client request).  We don't have an issue booking a manual PL30 to get the results that we want, but when we rerun the C/I task the system is "seeing" the adjustment and reversing it.
In the document type definition, we're using application area Consolidation of Investments.  The document is not included in the Location of Values customizing (it's not even shown, actually).
Is the C/I activity seeing this adjustment because we're doing a total divestiture and the document is coded as app area Cons of Investments?  In the past, I've used App Area "Other" and the PL30's were always ignored during the divestiture and other tasks.  If this is the case, I suppose I can either come up with a new PL30 document type with app area other, or re-post the adjustment with a different investee (default that is not part of the hierarchy) so the system doesn't know which subsidiary to apply it to.
Any help is appreciated...I've got about 16 hours to come up with a solution
- Chris

Thanks Dan,
I've done app area Other in the past without issue.  We were doing this in release 6, but we had started development on release 4 and I don't think we had the option to set a manual document to App Area COI.
What I've noticed is that with App Area Other, the posting is made to a Cons Group (in header) and investee can be included in the document line items.  If you divest the investee from the group, the manual PL30 documents with this investee are not impacted.
With App Area COI, both the cons area and investee are part of the document header. When divesting the investee, the manual PL30 document is reversed (similar to how the regular COI documents booked for the investee would be reversed).  This is probably good for a "subsequent consolidation" adjustment, but not good if you're clearing down the investee after a divestiture.  If you rerun the cons task afterwards, your manual document is essentially reversed by the COI.
My solution, for now, was to use the App Area COI but to set the investee equal to the parent of the group.  In my specific case, I don't need to worry about this parent being divested.
In the future, I may make an additional COI doc type w/ App Area Other for these circumstances.  This would prevent the COI from overriding the adjustment.
Thanks,
Chris

    Dear BCS experts,
Our client would like to have a check whether the document text is filled in the manual posting document.
Do you have any ideas how it is possible to implement?
    Thanks.

The probelm is solved. I implemented the validation of document header with a condition function.

    Informatica?
Look at the gifs on this page and read the letters: o r a c l e
And then search in your internet browser the field where you can see something like http://forums.oracle.com... overwrite it with http://www.informatica.com and press the biggest key on your keyboard (that's the RETURN KEY). This will lead you to Informatica, perhaps there you could find docs and more.

  • Invoicing of manual billing documents

    Hello,
I am trying to invoice manual and periodic bill document together for a particular period. However, when i run EASIBI,the manual bill document does not get picked up and only the periodic bill doc gets invoiced.
Is this a config issue or while creating data we should keep certain things in mind?
    Thanks,
    Shreeraj

    Shreeraj,
maybe you check into help.sap.com (they have an example for a manual bill).
there it is also stated that you should - Call Transaction EA16 Create manual billing, and enter a contract number and a key date. If you set the Joint invoice indicator, the document can only be invoiced jointly with an automatic document.
I wonder, whether the manual bill document is released and ready to be picked up or it is the correct posting period?
    Hope this helps,

  • Reset Manually Cleared Documents

    Hi,
    I have the following scenario:
I posted two document in first document i posted following transaction:
    EOBI EXP Dr 10,000
    Exp Payable EOBI    Cr  10,000
    (Document Number 1000010, Type SA)
    The second transaction Was:
    Exp EOBI  Dr. 10,000
    Bank                          Cr     10,000
    (Document Number 2000010, Type KZ)
then i manually selected these two documents and cleared them and a document 5000010 was generated by system. now for some reason i need to change the status from cleared documents to open again. for this when i go to FBRA and give any of the three document (1000010,2000010 or 5000010) for reset the system gives me an error that document XYZ is not a clearing document. what i understood here was that i was suppose to provide document number 2000010 in FBRA so that documents can be open again because this is the clearing document.
this has messed up my concept of clearing document in system. what is the use of document number 5000010 which is automatically generated by system? when i view it it shows me some other posting and not one related to this transaction. help pleas. and how can i reset the document in FBRA?
    What am i missing here?
    Regards,

    Hello,
This has messed up my concept of clearing document in system. what is the use of document number 5000010 which is automatically generated by system? when i view it it shows me some other posting and not one related to this transaction. help pleas. and how can i reset the document in FBRA?
There is nothing to worry about the concept. The concept is when you posted the expenses the document 1000010 was generated and when you posted the payment to bank for this expense the document 2000010 got posted. When you cleared both the documents manually the clearing document is 5000010 posted.
Now you want to set the status open for the cleared item as suggested above use FBRA with documnet num 5000010.
But now the question is had you already cleared the bank account also. if not then this will not be a problem for you. If yes then you had to reset the doc num generated while bank clearing then you can reset the doc num 5000010..
    Hope this may help.

  • Aggregate Invoicing - Manual billing documents

    Hi All,
I am working on Aggregate invoicing functionality for the distributor.
So far, I have posted the aggr bills (FICA and Billing) tables DFKKTHI / ECROSSREFNO. However this i have managed to do only for Consumption Bills (periodic/interim).
I have checked the SAP cookbook which states that the manual bills cannot be invoiced without a consumption bill which is fine.
However, I am unable to invoice the manual bill with the consumption bill as well.
    The steps I followed.
    1. Created a periodic bill and a manual bill (EASIBI / EA16).
    2. Released the manual bill.
    3. Now I try to invoice the periodic and manual bill into 1 invoice (have checked the dates). I select both the billing documents.
However 2 invoices are created.  The periodic bill has an entry in DFKKTHI and the manual bill does not.
Moreover the ISU-data tab in the FICA document does not get populated. No cross-ref number is generated either.
+ Note : At this point the R403 event was made inactive +
    FYI,
    1. At the contract , joint invoicing = 3 [Contract must not be invoiced with other contracts]. It does not allow me to set it to 1 and 2 because of the deregulation
    2. I checked the joint invoicing event R403 and setting the E_group value the same gives an error as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Enter manually reference document number in Invoice Header

    Hi gurus,
In order to keep a proper numerical sequence of invoices issued in the Company ( between those that are printed in excel and in SAP), we need to set manually a number in the SAP invoice document that we will use to print the form, and that is independent from the one assigned internally.
What would be the best field to set this number?
Reference number (in Header - Accounting data) would be a good choice, but seems like it is managed through copy control and can only be assigned automatically to: Customer PO #, Sales order #, Delivery #, External delivery # and current invoice #. Would it be possible to assigned it manually?
thanks for your always valuable ideas,
    VL

Thank you Ken for your answer,
The thing is that we need to transfer this field to accounting, this is why t¡he best choice would be the reference document number.
External range number is not a feasible option because it is required an internal number assignment but the one to be painted in the form and transferred to accounting has to be entered manually in the invoice header.
It is not so easy to enter reference document number manually as it has a copy control assignment as commented in my first note.
Any help would be very appreciated.
    Thanks,
    VL

  • Problem (manually) tagging document:  Tagging one text area tags all text in document

I've been having some trouble getting a inDesign document to tag properly in InDesign CS5.
The document has several different blocks of text, and I can see that they are each separate in the layer panel, and that they are not locked or grouped.
Yet, when I try tagging the document, it is treated as though all the text is in one element and the entire text of the document is tagged together.
The only element that seems to be able to be tagged separately is some text in the header, but it is not relevant for the XML I plan to export.
Any tips on getting this to work? I suspect the original file might have been created in a different version of InDesign, maybe that has some affect?

It sounds like you applied a tag to a portion of text in the flow of threaded frames, and all of the text within the threaded frames is now applied the story tag. This is normal and if you need to, you can create additional tags and apply within the story.

    Hi Tom
You can just write the processes yourself. Although trickier this can give you a lot more control over row processing.
APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01, F02 etc are global variables in the apex_application package that are defined as arrays.
These are regularly used in tabular forms to reference values within them. The normal ordering would be column 1 = G_F01, column 2 = G_F02 etc etc. Although you can change these and even assign more than one column to an array.
    The example
    FOR i IN 1..APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01.COUNT LOOP
    INSERT INTO my_table VALUES(:P1_EMPID , APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01(i));
END LOOP;Is saying - for the number of values in the array G_F01 (probably column 1) loop insert into the table the value of the associated value in the array. So first time through i=1 - so the first value in the array (probably row 1 in column 1), next time i=2 so the second value in the array is used (probably row 2 in column 1) and so on...
When you've created a manual tabular form (what I would call what you've done) you have created the items using the APEX_ITEM package in your query. The first parameter for this is p_idx which defines which global array to hold it in.
    Cheers
    Ben

  • Sequence of Activities & Divestiture

Our 4.0 implementation uses the default COI sequence of activities below:
Seq #     Act.     Activity text                   Stop here
    1     01     First Consolidation
    2     16     Horizontal Merger
3     04     Amortization of Fair Value Adjustments
    4     05     Increase in Capitalization
    5     06     Reduction in Capitalization
    6     07     Step Acquisition
    7     08     Partial Transfer
    8     09     Total Transfer
    9     17     Vertical Merger
    10     10     Partial Divestiture                           X
    11     11     Total Divestiture
    12     12     Liquidation
13     13     Reclassification of Treasury Stock
    14     14     Amortization of Investment
    15     15     Writeup of Investment
    16     02     Subsequent Consolidation
    17     03     Amortization of Goodwill
    18     18     Distribution of Dividends
When we recorded an end-of-period total divestiture (via AFD), the COI log does the following:
    1.     Partial divestiture from 100% to 0% - reversing first consolidation elimination of investment, recording 100% to minority interest balance sheet, and recording gains
    2.     Subsequent consolidation – because ownership is now considered 100% the entire earnings for the period of divestiture is recorded as minority interest
    3.     Total divestiture – reversing first consolidation elimination of equity, reversing minority interest balance sheet from partial divestiture above, and gain for earnings of period of divestiture
What bothers me is that subsequent earnings recoded 100% minority interest. Why would this occur when the divestiture is at the end of the period per the master data? Should the activity sequence number for subsequent consolidation change to a number lower that for partial and total divestiture, but remain after the Stop? If so what are the consequences?
The only other alternative I can think of is to leave the activity sequence alone and record the divestiture at the beginning of the next period.
Any help with this is appreciated.

    Dan,
Been looking at this myself these last few days.  I know conventional wisdom is to not touch the sequence, but I can't see the delivered sequence working correctly (ever) in the case of divestitures if there is activity in the period.  As discussed, perhaps this is what makes people chose the DABP option.
In addition to your case with the M/I due to the subsequent consolidation, if you were to issue a dividend in the period of divestiture that dividend income would be reclassed to minority interest as well.
My solution on the dividends to was to bring the activity above the partial transfer step, with the reasoning that in the event of a transfer you would be dividending to the old parent, not the new parent.  Testing so far of our likely C/I activites seems to work with the sequence as desired.
For the subsequent consolidation I'm also having issues that we've PL30 topsided around, but I wouldn't want to do that in a transfer because of the income statement adjustments that would be necessary and the statistical account impact.  In a future total divestiture activity, the gain/lose would be incorrectly calculated unless I got those statistical balances spot on to agree with the manual PL30.
I suspect the subsequent consolidation should be after the total transfer or vertical merger, with the reasoning that this activity should be performed in the new parent (err...cons group) in this case.  Haven't had a chance to test all our likely activities with this scenario, but will probably need a solution real soon.
I'm familiar w/ this note on the topic, wihch is essentially the help.sap.com documentation in a little more technical detail:
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/698955
But I'm not aware of any other documentation on the subject.
Finally....I remember when I took the SEM240 class a while ago they harped on not touching the default sequence, but those of us in the room with a live implementation had all changed from the default sequence.
Anyway...I don't really have a question or helpful info.  Just surprised there's nothing more on the topic.

  • Accounting document not created in J1IH transaction

    Hello All,
We have a situation where additional excise is posted for a vendor through J!IH transaction.
The excise JV is created but the accounting document does not get created.
During transaction J1IH diex (additional excise) system has posted one document .It creates an entry in rg23a part2 entry but accounting entry is not created. it shows the accounting document number but when we are seeing detail of that document in FB03 system throws and error message "Document does not exist in fiscal year ."
We have checked for the document number ranges, GL account determination.
Is there any program to release the accounting document?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Vinod P

    Hi Mr.Farooq,
    Thanks for your reply.
I understand that we can post a manual FI document with the values in the excise JV. My doubt is whether this will affect any further updations to the material part2 registers which can happen as there woudl be no link with the Excise register.
Additionally, in our case, the accounting document number has got generated and is seen in the report - RFBNUM00N.(report for internal Document number Gaps).
Are you aware of any program which can help me run the database updation alone to create the FI document, as the excise JV and part2 registers have been updated already?
Or can we cancel this excise and create a new document altogether? Since the accounting document has not been created, can we cancel the excise document?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Vinod P

  • CIN: Excise invoice accounting document is incorrect - MIGO

    Dear All,
In MIGO, the Material document has two items (both are Consumables with the same chapter ID) for which the excise invoice has been posted successfully. The RG23C Part 2 register is updated correctly.
But the accounting document so created has postings for only the second item. The posting for the first item is missing.
We have checked for the settings for 'Multiple goods receipt, Multiple credits' in Plant Settings and also in Excise Registration which is set.
Both the items in the Material document have the same tax code.
We have checked for the excise GL accounts.
The Excise GL accounts have been configured to GRPO
We have also checked the J_1IPART2 table. and the accounting document updated with BED, AED, ECS and SeCEss amounts are correct.
But what puzzles me is, when we check the accounting document in FB03, it has postings for only one item.
We have checked the configurations and everything seems fine. We have simulated this situation in Quality system and it works fine, i.e .the accounting document has postings for both the items. Problem here looks like, itu2019s a manual error. Since all the tables are updated, and only the accounting part is missing, is it ok, if we create a manual accounting document?
    Can you please suggest?
    Many thanks in advance
    Vinod P

You are saying materials are consumables and registered in RG23C.  This register is for Captial goods and not for consumables.  I think it could be RG23A.  check once again.
Check J1ID for both materials and compare.  I am sure some of the details were missed here.  Even blank field will not allow to post
