Mapping of same structure

Dear Experts,
I have querry regarding the mapping of source and target structure.The source and target structure are same.
The structure looks like this.
<Source>
+<Header>
  <LineItem>  0:Unbounded
    <Value>    1:1
    <Text>      1:1
  <LineItem>
Even if there is no entries in Value and Text field of tag <LineItem> , I have to show in the target.
-<Header>
   -<LineItem>
     -<Value/>
     -<Text/>
-<LineItem>
-<Header>
Please help for the mapping of the Source Line Item and Target Line Item,
Regards
Alice Rebecca

Hi Alice,
For Line Item, use straight mapping without any additional functions. For both: Value and Text, use source -> mapWithDefault -> target, and set the default value in mapWithDefault to empty (just erase the value). Thus you will achieve the required functionality.
Hope you'll find this useful,
Greg

  • No mapping for Same structure in source and target

    Hi Experts,
    I want to transfer the source structure to two receivers . Here source and target structures are same so i dont need mapping.
    My question is how many DT,MT and MI required .. mapping required or not.
    Thanks in Advance
    CS

    hi  CS,
                 here in  your  scenario as  u  have  told  that  source  and reciver  are of  same  structure . definitely you didn't need  any  mapping . and you have to create two data type(one for sender and  one for receiver) , two message  types(one for sender and one for receiver)) , and  two message  interfaces(one for sender and one for receiver).
    while creating message types it asks for data  type and while creating message interface it asks for message type only . as the structures of sender and receiver are same then inspite of having two receivers  we  have to create  ony one message interface on sender side . later the adapter will take  care of further proceedings
    but  in  case of configuration you have to import three business systems . one for sender and  two for receiver systems . and  you have to configure the communications  channels  accordingly. as per the receivers accepting the structures you have to use the relevant adaptors .

    Hi!
    Can some one please explain why the option within message mapping "map the same structure..." is inactive in my case?
    Is that a bug?

  • SOAP Scenario-Sender and receiver having same structure- Mapping Required?

    Hi,
    We are having a SOAP to SOAP scenario. In that the sender and receiver are having same structure. Is it possible to by-pass mapping and just do the configuration from ID
    Thanks and regards,

    Hi Siji,
    AFAIK you can skip ESR development. Check the example in this blog When and how to create an scenario in SAP PI without mapping objects.

  • How to map multiple source structures to single target structure

    Hi all,
    I have the scenario of 2 input files so i am using BPM for it. I have created the message types of the 3 input files. I have to finally generate an XML file which will contain the data of all the 2 files. That is i have to do 3:1 mapping.
    Source Structure of File 1:
    <b>DT_PWC_Customer</b>
    <i>RECORDSET</i>
      <u>CUSTOMER</u>
       <i><b>REF_NO</b></i>
       <i><b>CUSTOMER_NO</b></i>
    Source Structure of File 2:
    <b>DT_PWC_Customer</b>
    <i>RECORDSET</i>
      <u>METER</u>
       <i><b>REF_NO
       METER_NO</b></i>
    Target Structure of Final Output File:
    <b>DT_PWC_CustomerMeterData</b>
    <i>RECORDSET</i>
      <u>CUSTOMER_METER</u>
       <i><b>REF_NO
       CUSTOMER_NO
       METER_NO</b></i>
    Above nodes i have shown in a heirarchical order..nodes with same indentation are at same level.
    Can anybody tell me how to do this mapping in IR in graphical editor.
    RAJEEV GUPTA

    Hi,
    To elaborate my requirement, I want to tell that since i will be having 2 input files- one for Customer & one for Meter. I want to finally generate one XML file which will have data from both these 2 input files. That is, if Customer file has 3 records(3 REF_NO, 3 CUSTOMER_NO) and Meter file has 4 records(4 REF_NO, 4 METER_NO), the final output XML file  will   have 7 records(7 REF_NO, 3 CUSTOMER_NO,4 METER_NO).

  • Mapping of enterprise structure

    Dear Experts,
                 Right now i am doing implementation project in aluminium metal plant.Now we are in the 2nd phase of the project.So i have to map the enterprise structure of the plant.
               There are main 5 departments in the plant GAP,BAKE OVEN,RODDING,POTROOM,CASTING.Here all the departments finished products are interrelated,like GAP finished goods will go to BAKE OVEN. BAKE OVEN finished goods will go to RODDING.RODDING finihed goods will move to POTROOM.POTROOM molten metal will move to CASTHOUSE,and finally metal from CASTHOUSE will go to customers.
             So here how can i map this scenario, like i have to create 5 plants for 5 departments or 5 sections?
    Regards,
    Prashantha

    Greetings Prashantha,
    You need to approach this from a functional perspective. Define what is the Plant in SAP. A Plant is a location, which has an address, a language, time zone etc. and for this Plant the maintenance is planned as a whole on some level. Many configurations in PM are done on Plant level. Also, note that the Material Master data is maintained on Plant level.
    So taking this all into account, consider whether those elements are different for the 5 Departments you mention? I would venture a guess "no". Your departments will have distinct Functional Location hierarchy branches, distinct Planner Groups, their own Work Centres, perhaps their own Storage Locations, but I assume they will have the same processes, the same Company Code, the same high-level Maintenance Planning Plant, the same Order Types. So it is probably reasonable to use Plant Sections, Planner Groups etc. to differentiate below the Plant level.
    But of course, this is dependent on your business and how it is organised.

  • Different Message Type, Different Namespace, same structure

    Hi,
    we have the scenario:
    We have a message type (with our namespace) in a regular file-tofile scenario.
    The sender is sending us an xml-file from his PI that  has exactly the same structure and same xsd.
    Except, that his message type name and namespace are different.
    What is the scenario to get his message type and namespace mapped to my message type and namespace in a regular file-to-file scenario?
    Thanks
    hs

    Hi, you could also remove namespaces with XMLAnonymizerBean, then you only need to adapt the message type.
    Alternatively you can import the external definition of the message and create a mapping for that. You can reuse your existing message mapping, just do a copy and change the message type in the signature. Then you can correct structural inconsistencies automatically in order to adjust the mapping to the changed namespace and message type. Or even better, create a mapping template for the structure which you use in both message mappings. Like this, you have a separate interface and mapping for the file and thus a clear separation of message flow.

  • SSO and User Mapping at same time

    Hi,
    Can we use SSO and User mapping at same time between Portal and SAP Backend system?
    For some of the users the user id is different in both end.
    After implementing the SSO... Will it affect the existing user mapping? and the system alias created for that?
    If not, Can we use both SSO and user Mapping same time?
    Thanks,
    VB

    Hi VB,
    In this case I suggest you create 2 systems one you might have created for users who are having common user ids in portal & at the backend system.
    For the users whose ids are defeering you can create reference system and in user managemant property of that system
    Authentication Ticket Type - Select -SAP Logon TicketSAP Assertion Ticket
    Logon Method -  UWPW
    User Mapping Fields -  {100,200,300}Client;Language
    where 100,200,300 are the clients of the backend system.
    Assign this system in the ivews.
    Thanks,

  • Combine several XML files with same structure

    Hello,
    I have several XML files with the same structure and I want to combine them and create a new XML file to be bale to compare that information easily. It does not look very difficult but as I am very new in this I am not bale to get it
    The structure of my actual files would be something simlar to:
    Root->...-> Name->Address, Telephone
    And what I would like to have si something like
    Root->.... ->Address-> Name 1,Name 2....
    Root -> ...->Telephone-> Name 1, Name 2....
    Does anyone know how to do this.
    Thanks

    You could write a XSL transformation file that does this and transform your input file via
         * Transform XML file with a style sheet.
         * <p><b>Example:</b><p>
    <table align="center" bgcolor="#E0E0E0" border=1 cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0"><tr><td><pre style="margin-top:0; margin-bottom:0">
    XMLTransformer t = new XMLTransformer();
    FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream("C:/Project/result.html");
    String xmlFile = "C:/Project/source.xml";
    String styleSheet = "C:/Project/stylesheet.xsl";
    t.transform(xmlFile, styleSheet, fos);
    </pre></td></tr></table>
         * @param xmlfile The XML file to transform.
         * @param style Stylesheet to use for transformation.
         * @param outputStream OutputStream to write the transformed result to.
        public void transform(String xmlfile, String style, OutputStream outputStream) {

    Hello Hoo Laa,
    This is because the way you have defined LINE, it is a structure & not a data type. Hence you are facing the issue
    You have to change the data declaration to:
    itab LIKE STANDARD TABLE OF line WITH KEY table_line.

  • Problem in work flow of PE while mapping 2 source structure into 1 target

    We have scenario in BPM where in we have to mapp 2 source structure's into target.
    To be more specific one structure occurance is 0 to unbounded and other one is of single occurance.
    We have done the mapping with target structure and tested it manually in mapping . its working fine..
    While testing it in Configuration scenario, In the workflow process i.e PE process flow, we were not able to get one of the source message structure as the input Message. Instead of two source messages, it is seen only one. Please guide us in this issue.

    actually we are receiving only one message, henece we do not need a correleation. But once we receive this message we are splitting into multiple messages in the transformation step. and we use these split messages in different transformation steps. but in one of the transformation steps we are unable see one of the split messages in the transformation step(though we have used the proper container element.). Please let me know if any ideas on this.

  • Message mapping---1 source structure and n target structures

    I would like to know how many message mappings we need if we are mapping one source structure to 3 different target structures of a single receiver. I am assuming its just one message mapping.
    Depending on the above answer how many interface mappings do we need.

    Kalyan,
    you need multi-mapping that maps one source structure to multiple target structures. Just search multi mapping in SDN and you will find many good posts.
    Basically, in MM editor, go to signature tab and in the target messages add additional message types. Simple.  --> Only one MM and one IM

  • Issue in mapping the same source and target fields

    Hi All,
    I am working on PI 7.0 and currently I am connecting to PI 7.0 via citrix desktop . Problem here is : in the mapping , direct mapping option that is available to map the same source and target fields is disabled . I do know that this is due to some java version issue .
    What I want to know is there any possibilty of solving this issue without installing an updated java version ?
    Regards
    Vinay P.

    I've faced the same for many times and all of that were due to Java version.
    1st of all, you have to check the authorizations you have. If you have enough (DEVELOPER_J2EE, CONTENT_ORGANIZER_J2EE, and so), and - obvious but very often forgotten - you have to assure you're trying to change it in the message mapping change mode On.
    Then, last shot should be downgrade your Java version.
    The 1.4.2 JRE version allow you to use not only the Mapp the Identical field but also Dependencies, Clear Mapping and some other tools/buttons. As mentioned above, if there's a fix in the new Java releases, I do not know (hope so) and would appreciate if you could let us know.
    Tks.

  • Displaying several tables with same structure

    There are several tables with the same structure (number of columns, column names, column types etc.) and corresponding ADF BC view objects.
    A user should interactively choose the table he or she wants to edit. The UI remains the same for any given table.
    I need advice on how to implement this optimally, considering ease of development and performance.
    Right now I'm planning to use a SelectOneListbox for choosing and hide and show some containers with tables and forms for editing.
    I feel it should be quite easy, but I am an ADF newbie and feel puzzled :)
    Thanks in advance for any help!

  • SQL 2008 how to compare & identify data among 2 tables with same structure ?

    Hello is there a TSQL way of comparing row by row for example comparing DateTimeStamp field in 2 separate tables with same structure in identifying if it's data was changed (If Table1.DateField > Table2.DateField THEN UPDATE it's entire row to match it's
    corresponding Table1 row.) ?
    Probably thinking would need a cursor to loop through or are there other better ways via TSQL ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I am assuming you have a PRIMARY KEY field or a UNIQUE field in both tables, which you should!
    You can do this using "UPDATE with INNER JOIN". (SQL Server – Update Table with INNER JOIN)
    Working example:
    USE [TestDatabase]
    GO
    /* Create Temp Tables */
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Table1]
    [ID] INT
    ,[Name] VARCHAR(10)
    ,[ModifyDate] DATETIME
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Table2]
    [ID] INT
    ,[Name] VARCHAR(10)
    ,[ModifyDate] DATETIME
    GO
    INSERT INTO [dbo].[Table1] ([ID], [Name], [ModifyDate]) VALUES (1, 'Vishal', GETDATE())
    INSERT INTO [dbo].[Table2] ([ID], [Name], [ModifyDate]) VALUES (1, 'Gajjar', GETDATE() + 1)
    GO
    SELECT [ID], [Name], [ModifyDate] FROM [dbo].[Table1]
    SELECT [ID], [Name], [ModifyDate] FROM [dbo].[Table2]
    GO
    UPDATE T1
    SET T1.[Name] = T2.[Name]
    FROM [dbo].[Table1] T1
    INNER JOIN [dbo].[Table2] T2 ON T1.[ID] = T2.[ID] /* Join on Key field */
    WHERE T2.[ModifyDate] > T1.[ModifyDate] /* Update criteria */
    GO
    /* CleanUp - Drop Tables
    DROP TABLE [dbo].[Table1], [dbo].[Table2]
    This Updates Table1 with latest values from Table2, You need to change the UPDATE statement for your scenario.
