Mass change of cost center assignment

in OKB9, we have around 1000 lines for different company code and cost center, we want to change around 300 cost center assignement, how can we effectively do mass change ? can we do txt file upload?
in excel, we can do search and do mass replacment, but in okb9, my find button is greyed out
also before/after I change the assignment, I export TK3A table into excel, my old/new cost center is in column A/B, so how to ensure every cost center in column A is not appaer in column B?

Change of Cost Center Assignment for Organization Unit in HR

Hi,
Recently my client is changing their cost center number from 6char to 5 char format. I have created customized mapping table to link between old cost center number and new ones.
Create new cost center referencing to old cost center is done too.
However, for each Personnel Number, i need to change the cost center assignment which link to org unit. I have done this too manually at t-code PPOM. How can I do this for mass change? I have a list of org unit number with me. Is there any standard program to do this or i should use LSMW ?
How do I make sure for each Personnel number, their cost center assignment will change to new 5 char format in the end as required?
I am new to HR module.

Hi,
As Sikandar said, you will have to write an LSMW or BDC ( where in you can check and validate the input Cost centers) using PP01 or Po10.
Also I think if you use BDC or LSMW you will have to run the RHINTE30 report. Check the documentation on RHINTEXX reports to get better idea.

Mass change in Cost Center

Hello Experts
I would like to change the certain fields in cost center for group of cost centers. I planned to change through T.Code MASS. However, i am being unable to find any object type in T.Code MASS to carry the same.
Is there any option to do the MASS CHANGE in Cost center Master data with out LSMW / BDC etc.

Cost center assignment in subcontracting ??

hi Experts
i want to change the costcenter assignment in subcontracting scenario.
Here my query,
1.I have created subcontract PO
2.GR done. accounting docs been gnerated.
3.In GR document display , u can view line item1 as finished material, then in 2nd line item the consumption of raw material will be generated automatically with 543 movement type.
In this 2nd line item i want to change costcenter assignment for consumption of raw material account .
Where trhis configuration setting been done ??
How and where i can change this cost center assignment ??

Hi,
Use t.code OKB9 and assign G/L ACCt to cost object with ur company code and save.
Now try ur transaction.
OR
Check the field status of the account in FS00. If this account requires CO object as mandatory then check whether a cost element is created or not , this error normally occurs when CO object is mandatory but relevant cost element is not created.
Example: CO object may be cost center, cost element, WBS element
OR
Use transaction code: KA02: enter(Cost element) and in default acct assinmt TAB,assign the Cost Center and save.

u can only change the cost center assigned to profit center before any document posting,
If even single document is posted or any other postings has done then u cannot change it.

Using Substitution (GGB1) to change Cost Center assigned in (OKB9)

Dear all,
SAP Platform: ECC6
I've configured both VKOA (GL assignment) and OKB9 (auto acct assignment) for sales billing. In OKB9, I've mapped one cost center to one GL, i.e. GL-123456 = Cost-center-A.
Alright, now that I've a specific condition that requires to change the cost center at ad-hoc basis, i.e. for material # 2345678 only, I need to assign to GL-123456 but Cost-center-B instead. So, I attempt to use the substitution rule - GGB1 to replace the cost center based on material #. I did the configuration under Cost Accounting | Line Item by creating a new substitution and defaulted the constant to Cost-center-B when material # = 2345678.
So, I ran the billing in VF01 but the Cost-center-A was pickup instead of Cost-center-B. It appears that the substitution hasn't been triggered. Did I miss a step?

Changes to Profit center assigned to cost center

We have a scnario in which the profit center assigned to the cost center master has to be changed. We have been advised also to change the validity period of the same from the date of change of the profit center .However, the cost center has been used to for some data postings with the old profit center maintained in the cost center master. Now my query is:
1. What is the impact of changing the profit center in cost center master? In our case, some data has been posted to the cost center when the old profit center was maintained.
2. Why should we change the validity period of the cost center after changing the profit center assigned to the cost center?
3. Also, what is the way to transfer the entries which have been posted to the old profit center to the new profit center?

hi,
1) The impact of profit center is more in the cost center. when ever we assign profit center to cost center. the cost will be updated automatically. so there is no direct posting in profit center only statstical posting are generated.
2) second one when we want to create profit center first chek it out profit center valid and upto. if same is not maintained in creation of cost center . so u must have to change the validity periods
3) i am not sure this one i thing 7KEH OR 1KEF TC is there any way tommorow i will give the answer this questions.

See, yes you can change,
whenever you want to change the Master Cost center follow the step
PPOSE-SELECT START DATE whatever you want Eg. 01.04.2009 , - time Period Complete & Execute-
Click top left side change button
Search you Position -- Double click-go to Account Assignment - Change valid from date (which date from you want to change the cost center)
Change the cost center & Save
This process for follow Org Unit & Position also
Check the records of the date in Valid from or To there is small arrow First record & previous record other wise select period

Mass data change of cost center in asset master record

Hi Gurus,
I followed all the steps suggested by sap library and the below link. But the cost centers are not getting updated. When refreshed in TC-ar31 the status is completed instead of ended, no errors. but no change in master record. Pl suggest. What woud be the problem? I am awaiting for reply

Anyway, you have another workaround to change the cost center using LSMW's batch input recording method.

HI,
the corresponding cost element to your price diff. account has a cost center assigned as default CO-object.
Check:
1: if its on cost element master level (KA02) and change it
2: if it is defaulted for the combination of company code+cost element (T-Code OKB9) and change it
3: if the cost center is substituted via substitution rule ( T-Code OKC9) and change it.

VA01 Sales order (line items) and different Cost center assignment

Hello gurus,
im searching for solutions how to assign different cost center to sales order line items, but only thing that i found is the substitution (Using Substitution (GGB1) to change Cost Center assigned in (OKB9))
Trying to do this i was unable to create something that could work, since there was no Logistic.
Could somebody explain me the Line item in SO assignment to Different cost centers?
I know alot about OKB9, VKOA and other transactions, but still cant find anything suitable to solve this issue

What i mean is that, on the end of every month we are gathering information for Statistical Key Figures (from Controlling) entering as CO document and then distributing the costs using KSV5 TC on Internal Orders according those entered statistical key figures.
i.e. we got INCOME 1000000 from 10 internal order, which we distribute on even percentage parts like 10 cost center, each getting 10% of the income.
I tried to create the SO, but the Profit center field, after i entered a number, was changed automatically into another.
And the posting didnt reach Controlling and the assigned Cost center. I think it is a lack of configuration.

Why can't I change the cost center in PA0001 using PA30?

Hi Gurus,
Please help. I cannot seem to find the means to enter the cost center in the organizational assignment infotype PA0001. It is showing as greyed out/display only.
As background, these personnel files were setup for time entry. Other infotypes populated that might be impacting it are 0315. We are not setup for organizational management within SAP.
As I remember if I don't populate sender cost center/create infotype in 0315, I can change the cost center in PA0001 using PA30, but if I do I'm greyed out.
Can anyone provide some insights and a possible fix for this?

Try turning it OFF by removing the X and saving it.
Then check on PA30 if the cost center field is enabled for you to enter.
If this doesn't work, please put the X back in the table and save it.

Change of Cost Center in Asset Master for Investment measure (AuC) Assets.

Hi,
We have an asset class 4001 which has been maintained as an investment measure for AuC. I want to change cost center for all the assets that are maintained in the asset class 4001. The system is showing cost center field in display mode in change transaction of the asset AS02 for all the assets in the asset class. I want to replace the old cost center with new cost center in the asset master record. How can I make the cost center field changeable ?

Hi Kattula,
We can change the cost center for AUC with Investment Measure. To do this you need to identify the relevant WBS element assigned to your asset. You can find the WBSE in Origin tab of your asset master record.
Then go to the change WBS element Transaction CJ12 and change the cost center. Once you change the cost center of the WBSE, the change would automatically get reflected in the correspondind asset master record.
This would solve your issue.

Moderator: Please, do not use SMS language. The assignment of cost centre to BA is in the master data of the cost centre itself

Hello Robert,
You can have only one business Area in one Fiscal Year.
So for the current year, you should keep the Business Area, but you can change it for future FYs.
To do that go to menu > Edit > Analysis Period and click "Other Analysis Period". Than you should be able to change the Business Area for future FY. You have to select the Analysis period, so it begins when FY is beginning...
