Master data is coming wrong in sap bw, although in source system it is corect

Hi all,
Master data is coming wrong at the PSA level itself. Our source system is CRM which has the correct data but still it is coming wrong at PSA level. I tried reloading the data but was in vain.
ID
Name
X
ABC
Y
ABC
We have two fields-- ID and Name.  For ID X , the Name is ABC(say) and for ID Y the Name should be DEF(say). But for both the IDs X and Y the name is coming as ABC, which is wrong
Can you please guide me what to do in this case ?

In that case please be informed that
" The business partner number for the person responsible for the territory is determined from the organizational model. It is taken from the territory and employee responsible that have been assigned to the position in the organizational model. The fields are extracted from function modules in mySAP Human Capital Management". (From help.sap.com)

Kindly take help of your CRM functional consultant regarding the same and also with the help of ABAPer debug the extractor to pinpoint from where excatly it is fetching the BP number ....
Hope this helps .

    Hi friends
I want to download SAP vendor master data into excel sheet and the file should be stored in SAP Application server Location with padding zeros.
    Please help me.
    Thanks

    Hi Ramesh,
It is not possible to download data in Excel file on application server. You can better download the same in tab separated text file and then convert that text file to XLS.
Please do not open multiple threads for same problem.

    Please help me.
    Thanks

    Hi Ramesh,
You can download the data into application server using the following code. You will have the vendor details in the internal table. Then you will open a file and transfer the data as follows.
    *   Download internal table to Application server file(Unix)
    DATA: e_file like rlgrap-filename value '/usr/sap/tmp/file.txt'.
open dataset e_file for output in text mode.
      lOOP AT it_datatab......
        transfer it_datatab to e_file.
      ENDLOOP.
      close dataset e_file.
In application server you will have only files and not excel sheets.

  • Master Data Load to APO from SAP MDM through SAP PI

    Hi SDners,
This is a Parts Master Data Solution for one of the Largest Auto Manufacturer where SAP MDM will be the central hub of all the Global and Local attributes of Parts . The subscribing system is SAP SCM APO . Please advice if there is any possibility of direct integration between APO -MDM through PI. Does PI has the standard IDOC types to communicate with APO.
Also does APO has some RFC/BAPI to do master data load for Product Master /n/sapapo/mat1
    Thanks,
    Prabuddha

    Hi,
Check the LUWs in SM58 in source system and then execute it. Else check in BD87 and push the IDocs manually in ECC.
    Thanks

Same case with material master data even.
Can anyone please tell me what could be the reason for this problem & how to fix it.
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear JM,
Goto SNRO- Enter the number range object & click on "Change " icon.
    NR Object: DEBITOR
Check whether any value maintained in "No. of numbers in buffer",  make it blank & re-create customer.
It may not be exact route cause of the problem, but could be the reason .
    Test & update the forum.

  • Connecting SAP BW to SAP R/3 : Creating source system manually/automaticall

    Hello All,
I have created the RFC connection between R/3 and BW system .The message types also have been defined and partner profiles have been generated.
When I am trying to create SAP source system in RSA1 --> Source system it asks me for the SAP Target server name, system ID and System number. After providing this it asks for ALEREMOTE users password in source system and target system.
    Shouldnt this be blank!!!
Should this be provided separately by BASIS or shoudl it be the once we define while creating RFC Connections?
    Kindly reply.

Now I would like to connect my new SAP BW system "BW2" also to this SAP source system "MM5".
When I do so I get the following error:
    Connection cannot be used.
Connection BA is used in the MM5:400
source system as a connection BW1CLNT001 to BW
Do you want to delete this connection in the source system?

Can one SAP ECC system be connected to 2 SAP BW system?
If yes, what are the steps to do this?
    Thank you!

    Thank you very much!
The question still is how to proceed with the following dialog screen/warning?

  • Ale master data scenario integration with non sap syetem i.e seebeyound

    hi
we have a business process scenario integrating with non sap system (i.e seebeyound)
    action code      itemnumber    plant code
    a(add)          material1     plant 2
    d(delete)       material 3    plant 6
    etc
we have upto one million materials assigned to 300 plants
we have to send all the above data to non-sap system (see beyound)
should we go for a custom idoc and setup the rfc configuration for the two sytems.
or can you please help how to go for this scaneriao

this is not one time.it is on daily basis.
please look at this scenario.what i need is how should i go for ale/idoc scenario for this one
Business case for Heiler Part/Plant Interface:
A key function of the Heiler PBC tool is to provide users a choice
between a "Global Catalog View" (e.g. all parts in the catalog) or a
"Local Catalog View" (e.g. the subset of parts in the catalog that have
a Material Master established for the user's plant in SAP).  The "Local
Catalog View" is the default condition and encourages users to procure
parts that are on contract for their plant and potentially already
stocked as an inventory item at their plant.  Parts that are not in a
user's "Local Catalog View" can only be procured as a spot buy purchase
order, requiring processing by a buyer.
The new Part/Plant interface is required in order for the Heiler PBC
tool to provide this "Local Catalog View" function.  The Heiler
Part/Plant table will document what plants in SAP have a Material Master
record established for each part.  SAP will maintain the Heiler
Part/Plant table using this interface.  When a user performs a part
search in the Heiler PBC tool, the Part/Plant table determines if a part
is included in the user's "Local Catalog View".

  • Extraction of master data from R3 into BW.

    Hello.
This is my new SAP BI assignment:
I'm going to use standard SAP InfoOjects (from Business Content) in order to build a new InfoCube (Logistics - MM/SD) with for example standard Characteristics like: 0MATERIAL, 0MATL_GROUP, 0SHIP_TO, 0SOLD_TO, 0SALESORG, 0PROD_HIER, 0CUST_GROUP, 0COMP_CODE... (_Note: NO generic extraction involved_)
My question is, do I need some extra "Process Chain"  (Tcode: RSPC) in order to bring all these characteristics and all associated master data/texts, attributes and hierarchies from the R/3 ( source system) into BW, or these data will come with a standard extractor into SAP BW? I mean no extra work is needed for  bringing master data from R/3 in to BW?
Another question, Is there any way to know which Characteristics need an extra "Process Chain"  (Tcode: RSPC) in order to bring associated master data/texts, attributes and hierarchies from the R/3 ( source system) into BW?
    Regards
    ASantos

    Hi ,
    1. In SAP R3 system go to the transaction RSA6, find the application component then select the data Source and view the structure of the data source and  select all the required fields.
    2. As you said no generic data source involve , then create the generic data source using the transaction SBIW, generic data sources have many creation options. view is the simplest. You can create a viewwith all requred fields on the top of different source table fieldsa per your requirement.
3.Now go to the transaction RSA3 the extractor checker ,give name of your ectractor as input and check this data source.
4.go to BW system, transaction RSA1, find the source system then replicate the metadata in the corresponding application component. After replication only the structure of the data source is copied not the actual data.
    5. Create InfoPackage, so that the actual data is loaded in the PSA table.
    6. Create transformation between the data source and the corresponding data target (InfoProvider - infoobject, cube, DSO). This is done by mapping the source fields with target fields using the appropriate rule type.If there are some update rules in R3 system then you may need to write some field level routines depend on your requirement.
7.Create DTP between the source and target, and execte it .It will load actual data into the target.
8.then more transformation and DTP can be created and executed according to the requirements, like from DSO to cube. Thus the data is available in BW data targets on which query can be generated for reporting.
I don't think you need any process chain for this .this is manual process but loading DTP and all can be automated via creating process chain .
For more guidence you an refer this document:

    Hope this will be helpful.

  • Master data infoobject can't handle duplicate records after SP10

    Hi
I am trying to load master data which happened to contain duplicate records from the source system.  In the DTP of the master data infoobject, I have ticked the 'Handle Duplicate Record Keys' checkbox.  After executing this DTP, the duplicate master data records were trapped in the Error Stack.  I am expecting overwriting of the duplicate master data to take place instead.  I understand that this error was fixed in Note 954661 - Updating master data texts when error in data package which is from SP9.  After applying Support Pack 10, the master data infoobject just can't handle records with duplicate keys.
Please let me know if you manage to fix this problem.
    Many thanks,
    Anthony

Found a fix for this problem.  Just applied this OSS note  Note 986196 - Error during duplicate record handling of master data texts.

  • Master Data coming from 1 backend and GOA distributed to many bakends

    Hello,
In our case (using SRM 5.0) one backend system is used to replicate all material master data and GOA will be distributed to multiple backends including the one that is used for master data. As far as i know the logical backend system is determined through materials/material groups while GOA is distributed. In the above case how can we intervene with this logic to be able to distribute the GOA to whatever backend we have, even though if the MD is not coming from them?
    Thank you,

    Hi,
You can use the BADI BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS for this purpose.
The method :CONTRACT_LOGSYS_DETERMINE (Determine Target System of Contract) has been provided for the same purpose.
Sample BADI Implementation at SDN Wiki:

  • SAP PP (Production Planning) Master Data Definitions

SAP PP (Production Planning) Master Data Definitions and Transaction codes.

SAP PP (Production Planning) Master Data Definitions
    • Factory Calendar
    • Material Master
    • Resource • Bills of Material (BOM)
    • Production versions
    • Master recipe
Factory Calendar: The factory calendar is defined on the basis of a public holiday calendar. The public holiday and factory calendar is a central module in the SAP System. It is assigned to a specific plant during the initial system setup and therefore used in many areas (e.g. in Logistics and in Human Resources) in the system.
Material Master: Material master comprises if all the basic data of the material for each department. The data covers all the relevant information required for the transactional flow e.g. sales, Planning, Production, Quality, Purchasing, Costing etc. Material master covers all the descriptive and control data and the flow of information depends on fields maintained within it. The integration of all material data in a single database object eliminates redundant data storage. Material Masters are created once and can be changed or extended whenever required
Bill of Materials: Bill of Materials or commonly called BOM is a formally structured list of components that make up a product or assembly. The list contains the material number of the component together with the quantity and unit of measure. BOMs are used in their different forms in various situations where a finished product is assembled from several component parts or materials. Resources: Resources are production facilities and persons involved in a production process that have capacities. They are subdivided into categories to specify their suitability for certain purposes or their use in certain processes
Product Versions: A production version determines which alternative BOM is used together with which task list/master recipe to produce a material or create a master production schedule. For one material, we can have several production versions for various validity periods and lot-size ranges. The production version determines the following:
    • The BOM alternative for a BOM explosion.
    • The task list (master recipe) and any alternate, as needed.
    • Lot-size restrictions and validity parameters.
Master Recipes: A master recipe defines the following data that is required for the production of materials without relating to a particular order: processing steps, resources, material components, and control information for the process control level. Master Recipe enables to plan the production of materials (products). Therefore, Master Recipe is used as a template for process orders and run schedules as well as a basis for product costing. In a Recipe
    • The Phases (work steps) to be carried out during production.
    • The activities to be performed in the operations as a basis for determining dates, capacity requirements and costs.
    • The use of materials during production.
    • The use of resource.

  • Master data coming from which particular table of source system

    Hi,
my requirement is i have a master data (ABC) coming from a source sytem XYZ
there is an attribute (L) in my master data. Now i want to know from which table in my source sytem the data pretaining to attribute L is coming up.
    I m using BW 3-5 system
Is there a way through which i can directly find out abt the same.
    thanks

    Hi,
Is this standard Master data or Generic one, if it is customised one then you can find the same in customer exit of ECC system,
go to tcode CMOD in ECC system, there willbe an project defined for the BW system, in that get an exact component, and check for the custom code for your masterdat, there you will be in a position to find out from where the data is being extracted.
if you are good at abap you can debug it via RSA3 , else get an help of an abaper to find it out.
if it is standard , then you can search in SDN, but for for better reuslts, you can go to RSO2 and give the datasource name of that master data and clik on display you, will get an display in the bottom saying that this data source using FM 'XXXXXXX', copy that FM name and try to give it in SE37 and debug it via RSA3 for better results.

  • Master Data Object Delta goes wrong ?

    Hello Experts,
Delta for the Master Data Infobject went wrong and we are planning to initalize it. Which is a better idead, delete data from the Master Data Object Or initialze the delta without deleting the data from the Master Data Object.
    Thanks,

    Hi Sweatha,
If the InfoObject which you are planning to delete data is used in any of the queries, users will have problems if they are running those queries. And, you can not delete the InfoObject data completly if it was used in any InfoCubes. You have to completly delete the data in InfoCubes before you can delete all InfoObject data.
I would simply init again without deleting the data, then activate the InfoObject data. I do not see any problem in doing this.
    Thanks
