Master Data Navigational attribute

Hi all
I am working on BW CRM implementation. For country we have the 0country as the master data infosource. I have updated all the master data for country and region. In the queries the coutnry is been identified as a navigational attribute as 0crm_prospe__0country. Now the problem is i am not getting the country and region related data in the query display. The navigational attribute for country and region are checked in the infocube level also.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

Vijay,
use the transfer routine and fill it with a lookup on 0BPARTNER .. or use a small abap routine to fill in the coutry value..
select single country into result from /bi0/pbpartner where 0bpartner EQ tran_structure-0bpartner
I do not have the field names with me but you get the general idea..

Flexible Upload of master data including attributes - error at new attrib.

Dear all,
trying to use the flexible upload for loading master data with attributes the system aborts if there new values have to be created for attributes, e.g. New Business Unit has region FR, Region FR actually does not exist as key. Therefore at first the value for Region has to be created within BCS and after that the load of the new Business Unit will be successful.
Does anybody know if it possible or which seeting within the upload customizing must be chosen that the new attribut value automatically could be created during upload of the main characteristic?

Hello Dieter,
your first way was the right way - befor you can upload Business Units with attribut FR you have to create the attribute in BCS.
It is not possible to create master data for two different characteristics in one flexible upload method.
In the definition of the upload method you have to choose which characteristic you try to upload...

How can I upload text master data for attribute-only Charactertic?

I can't create infosource for attribute-only Charactertic via direct update from Infoobject, because attribute-only Charactertics you can't choose from available infoobject.

I soloved the problem. I can input the attribute-only char directly in the text box instead of choosing from list of infoobjects, but I still can't find the char in infoobject selection dialog even using search.

Error while loading master data to attribute ZMAJORGU(Major organisational unit)

Hi Experts,
While loading master data to ZMAJORGU(MOU)(info object texts) from datasource (ZOS_HRP1000)datasource iam getting error in DTP.
below is the error...
Diagnosis
    Data record 349 & with the key 'Ship &' is invalid in value 'Ship &' of
    the attribute/characteristic ZMAJORGU &.
System Response
    The system has recognized that the value mentioned above is invalid, and
    has processed this general error message. A subsequent message may give
    you more information on the error. This message refers to the same
    value, even though it does not state this explicitly.
Procedure
    If this message appears during a data load, maintain the attribute in
    the PSA maintenance screens. If this message appears in the master data
    maintenance screens, leave the transaction and call it again. This
    allows you to maintain your master data.

I have done the following regarding the issue ....Looking at the error i have gone trough the transformation and i didnt find any routines or formuales
I have checked the PSA and down loaded the data to spread sheet and put a filter on SHORT and STEXT assuming i will find the value
'Ship &' as mentioned in the Diagnosis description. However i was not able to find the relavent data(i went to se16 gave teh request ID from PSA and displayed the entire data)tarting with Ship .The closest value i could find in both the fileds was was AVP Shipment .
I have the following questions
1)In the screen short 2 it says record number 349 is it right to go to PSA table and check against the record number 349(i tried that but i was not able to find the error against that record)
2)why am i not finding the value 'Ship' in PSA ...but this is the value wich is creating a poblem in updating to the target ....does it mean the record value is Ship or it starts with Ship or is ir part of some word?
Please find the attached PSA data file (u have to convert it to Excel)
I request people to help me analyse the issue and fix the issue.

I checked other records as well they were a lot of smallcharecters upper case charectres ,numeric special charecters .but nothing stopped ...when the system is even accpeting all other charectres like smallof caps or numeric... why on this record is creating an issue...
please have a look at error stack
and i have one more question when i look at PSA there are close to 300000 records
but when i do an SE16 with request id i see only close to one lakh records (i came to conclusion b dragging down and the last record number was (below screen shot)
Can you tell me what my mistake is numebr or records are not tallying in SE16 and PSA..

Please go through this scenerio and answer the questions?
I have master data ZSTAT for this we have mainitaned the attribute called ZATT.
The data for these is not coming from source.So there is routine in UR which manipulates and updates the ZSTAT as I,N and T based on the conditions given in the UR.But Now If I look at the attribute ZATT I could see only I and N data.How this has maintained.This had done by our onsite folks.My doubt is How did we get only two values for attibute when we are having 3 values for Master data?
Points will be definitely assigned for the right answers?

For the cube, the data for I , N and T are available
For attribute, for T not availabe..is it so?
Have you checked in the master data table ....every master data table have values of attribute stored in the next column
Go to the master data infoobject of the attribute and see whether all I, N and T are there

Updating the Master data Infoobjects attributes from the Portal

Dear All,
There is a requirement where through portal i want to retrive the master data infoobject ( based on the value seleceted for that infoobject by the user ) and its attributes in the portal , edit them and save them back so that the updated values goes back to BW master data infoobject data base tables and updates the value.
Eg . I have Natural Account master data infoobject in the BW with attributes fucntional area and expense center.Based on the user selection of any values for the Natural account lets say 01110 , then for 01110 natural account the portal should display the correspoding attributes values of fucntional area and expense center.Lets take this values as 10 , 20 respectively for fucntional area and expense center . What I want to do now is to change these attrbute values to 30 and 40 and I would like to save it back as the changed attribute values for that natural account for 01110 with new attribute values 30 & 40 respectively for fucntional area and expense center .
Is this possible through portal and BW?
Any idea on this would be appriciated.

Hi Ankit,
this is a quite tough but not impossible requirement. Maintaining Master data is possible with Visual Composer and some function modules (at least that's one way I know). However it could be a bit complicated maintaining attributes Master data depending on your data model. This How might help getting familiar with this topic:

While loading this data ,i got the error message stating that '+' should not be part of the attributes and () should not be part of the attribute ..but i need all the information as it is available in the example data .
Do i need to maintain RSKC Settings else some other things required ..

Hi All,
I would like to get a basic question clarified.
Can there exists a one to many relationship between the master data and the attributes ??
eg : lets say
Organization is a Master data and i am trying to fill in data from flat file .
it has a attribute like Area
org    Area
1       A1
1       A2
2       A1
2       A3
just want to know if this will work or will it be against the uniqueness of the master data load ???

Hi GG,
   You can not maintain duplicate master data.
If you want to maintain data like:
org Area
1 A1
1 A2
2 A1
2 A3
You have to compound Area with Org. Than you can maintain.
If Area is compound, then Key will be concatenation of Org and Area(Ex(1A1, 1A2....)

When u load master data and its attribute to ur data target and if u change any data or attributes of ur master data,in order to update new data to ur data target attribute change run is performed.
When u create a characteristic and if u keep it as master data and activated..it is master data activation
Activating Master Data
When you update master data from an SAP system the master data is imported in an inactive state. You must activate the new master data so that it can be accessed and used for reporting purposes.
For more information, see Versioning Master Data.
Choose the path InfoObject Tree Context Menu of Corresponding Characteristic Activate Master Data.
Upon Activation there are two scenarios to choose from:
The Corresponding Master Data Is Already Being Used in Aggregates in the InfoCube:
If you are already using the available master data in aggregates in InfoCubes, you cannot activate the master data individually. In this case, proceed as follows:
1. In the main menu, choose the path Tools Hierarchy/Attribute Change.
2. Proceed as described in System Response upon Changes to Data: Aggregate.
The system now automatically restructures and activates the master data and its aggregates.
Please note that this process can take several hours if the volume of data is relatively high. Therefore, you should simultaneously activate all of the characteristics that are affected by changes to their master data, at regular intervals.
The Corresponding Master Data Is Not Used in Aggregates:
Choose the path InfoObject Tree ® Context Menu of Corresponding Characteristic Activate.
The system now automatically activates the master data so that it can be used directly in reporting.
If there is any change r newly added records in master data..then that particular data will not b avialable for the reporting unless u do activate master data...
if u r using aggregates and then there is any change in master data ...then that particular master data change wil not b available for the reporting unless u do arrtibute change run for that info object.(T-code RSATTR)
Master data attributes and hierachies are used in cube aggregates also. So to do update the latest master data attributes values in the aggregtes attribute change run need to be performed.So Attribute change run also updates the master data attributes in aggregates which is not apart of master data activation.
Text loads do not need attribute change run. Attributes, hierarchies and aggregates need attribute/hierarchy change runs. If you do not have aggregates, just activating the master data is same as attribute change run.

Hierarchy load -Master Data(No attributes,Text data loaded)

I have been trying to load hierarchy data in the datasource 0BBP_BIGURE_HIER from SRM to my BI system but the monitor shows the req remaining in yellow for hours together.The data comes fine till PSA but doesnt get loaded to the Infoobject 0BBP_BIGURE.The text data has been succesfully loaded for 0BBP_BIGURE.No attributes for the infoobejct to be loaded.
Can someone provide some information abt how to load 0BBP_BIGURE_HIER from SRM and what can be the possible errors.

I have tried what it says in SAP url(http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/85/14853df3e60968e10000000a114084/frameset.htm). I have reset the timestamp in the table BBP BWTIMESTAMP in Enterprise Buyer but, then, when i tried to upload the hierarchy again as it says, the problem persist. The monitor keeps the yellow status and the hierarchy doesn´t upload.
What have you done to solve it finally?

Navigation Attributes not populated

Hi ,
I am stuck in a situation with the Master data Navigational Attributes.
I created a "ZMAT" master data infoobject which has the Navigation attributes like "Product Platform". Everything has worked in quality and development but after transporting it to
production the navigational attribute is not being populated in the listcube.
I loaded the data in the master data infoobject and it gets loaded successfully.
I can even see the data for the attribute in the ZMAT master data "manage master data" after the load but when I try to select the navigational attribute in the listcube it doesn't populate anything for that attribute .
I have trying moving the transports thrice from dev to prod but no respite.
Request someone to look and provide a resolution.
Your help will be highly appreciated and points awarded as well
It is worth mentioning that the master data IO is a copy of Material and customized.

Hello,
Make sure you are checking the same 'ZMAT' Keys in both Transaction (Cube) and Master data. Also check whether there is some compounding charateristics to ZMAT. In that case, consider compounded characteristics as well as a Key while comparing the Transaction and master data.

Question: to have different 2 key dates to show time-dep master data.

I would kindly like to ask your suggestion in this challenges.
In our Finance report e.g AR Report, we have 2 Year to dates of Key Figures. 1) Current Year to date, and 2) previous Year to dates. We want to have the report shows time-dependent master data navigation attribute based on this 2 year to dates.
I am thinking to have 2 Key Date selection parameter in the report e.g. 1) Current key-date, and 2) Previous Key-date
The report above will show COLOR as per key date. If the posting is 'Previous YTD', the COLOR will show based on 'Previous Key Date', and if the posting for 'Current YTD', the COLOR will show based on 'Current Key-Date'.
The question are:
1) What to do for customization if we want to have 2 key dates in Query or Report? If you have experience it before, could you please share?
2) If you think that there is other way, feel free to share it.

Can't get master data text and attributes

Hi,
I have a BEx query report which is reading data from a virtual infocube in BI7.0 environment. In this query report I need to display the company code and also its long text and 3 of the company code master data's attributes.
My company code master data has been loaded and its data activated. However when I ran this BEx query report, I could not see the long text and 3 of the company code master data's attributes.
I know this is not a problem for a basic infocube but will this query report able to do the same when reading data straight from a virtual infocube?
Please let me know.

Could any one give me the steps individually to load the following type of data in BI 7.0:
1. Master Data with Attributes
2. Master Data with Text
3. Master Data with Hierarchy
4. Transaction Data
Do I have to create the Transformation and DTP's individually to load all the above kind of Data?

For master data when you create tranformation it will prompt infoobject to act as infoprovider, and then you create DTP to schedule data to it. It works fine with attribute and Texts, though hierarchy dosn;t support much features of 2004s at my side. Like i am not able to migrate Hierarchy datasource to 2004s, and even when i replicate it, it comes as 3.5 datasource only.
For transaction data follow Gokuls step, or try to find on forums you will get lot of discussion on it.

Hi,
Master data activation is activating the master data once you extract the data from source system the data will be in inactive state, so in order to make the data available we will activate the master data.
Attribute change run :Its used to update the newly changed master data records to the Hierachies and aggregates.
If you are already using the available master data in aggregates in InfoCubes, you cannot activate the master data individually. In this case we will use attribute change run.
For attribute change run we have direct tcode: RSATTR or In the main menu, choose the path Tools Hierarchy/Attribute Change.
