Master Page Content Boxes – Adjusting?

I thought I understood how to use content boxes on master pages, but I think I may have been wrong!
I have set up master pages, for example one right hand page has a square frame. I then drag and place an image in each of the boxes in the main document pages.
However, having then attempted to change the master page, moving or resizing the box on the master is not reflected in the dependent pages within the main document.
(From reading the help pages, I believe this might be because I have overridden it?)
I am part way through creating a document and I realise now that I want to change the page size. Having already added content, I want to be able to reposition all of the main document's image boxes.
Apologies for being ill informed about InDesign. I suspect more preparation would have seen me through here.

Notwithstanding this option in CS6 (I'm using CS5)...
If I don't adjust the page size and I simply move the image box on the master, it does move all of the images on the main pages.
Why should changing the page size first affect how master pages interact with main pages? Is there any way round this?

Error in displaying master page content in overflowing pages

Hi All,
I am having a master page with logo, bill to party address and item details. The logo and bill to party are in a separate sub form of the master page and the item details are in the design view of the page.
My problem is when the item details overflow to next page, the logo and bill to party address are not appearing in the next page with the item details.
Kindly help me to resolve this issue. I read many post telling the master page content will be repeated on all subsequent pages. Dont know why it fails for me . Am i missing something. Please help.

My issue got resolved, i changed my master page overflow to the same master page. Its is displaying the details on the next page when items are over flowing.

Master page content area height

Hello
I have a subform within a master page content area,
The subform has table which i allowed the content to break to the next page.
When i try to get the height of the subform it only gives me the height from the first page and ignores the rest on other pages the table broke to.
I need the height of the subsequent pages in order to position another subform at the bottom of the last page.
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

New to Muse - Help with Text sitting above my master page content header

Hi there, I am needing to know how to make the text box that I have created on my "Home" page scroll underneath the main content in the header section of my master page please.

They are the same width i.e. touch the edge of the visible page/background and pinned it. However, it's not filling the entire browser window. It's like it's only the page width and pinning it to the left side of the browser. My text however is going behind this now so thank you. Any chance you could help extend the graphics so they fill the browser width as per the master page please??

Master page content in foreground.

Hey there.
I'm trying to set up a site so that the contents of the master page display above rather than below the individual page content.
I found this; Adobe Muse Help | Working with Master Pages which says I should be able to right click on the required content of the master page in design view and select 'move to > Master Foreground'. I can't seem to find this command anywhere in Muse, or find any method at all of displaying master content in the foreground.
I'm using the latest (2014.3) version fully up to date.
Am I missing something or has this functionality changed in newer versions of Muse?
Can someone point me in the right direction?

With the release of Muse version 5.0.704 on June 17, 2013 the Layers panel replaces the Master Foreground/Background feature delivered as part of the Muse Q1 release.
Now to do the same you need to use the layers panel.Please refer to the links below to understand how it works.

Multiple Page Contents Page Fields In Custom Page Layout SP2013

I'm rather new so bare with me. I'm trying to add multiple page content page fields with snippets to a custom page layout html file in SP2013 Designer. Once I add the snippet and publish, I review the page and any text written
in the last created page content box saves for both page content boxes instead of saving unique text in both. How do you change the snippets to where they are unique snippets and won't be referenced as the same one?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

How to position chapter number on the master page according to the chapter number?

I'm working with a catalog for a customer with about 250 pages divided into apx 30 chapters. The person who made this document in the first place have a separate master page for each Chapter.
If I use the the Running Header (Paragraph style) text variable I can use the same master page on all chapters - this will be much easier I think.
BUT I have a problem because the chapter number is going to be displayed in different position according to the number (along on the edge of the page with white text in a black rectangle, with the first chapter number on top, the next one beneath and so on - so the reader of the book can see the chapters just by looking at the edge of the book without opening it)
Is there any possibility to have the Chapter Number text variable to be displayed in different location on the page based on the number it self? Or do you have any other ways to solve this in a easy way?

Well, you can not create dependencies like this, but you could use nested master pages. You would still need 30 master pages for 30 chapters, in order to place the chapter number in different positions, but you
would only need one or two main master pages for the rest of master page content. That would make it at least easier to change something on all master pages at once.

You can download the trial version (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html) to convert the PDF back to WORD if you do not have the original. The conversion may not be perfect, but it is typically better than starting from scratch. You may be lucky and get a good result. You might check the settings (in the save screen) to try retain format versus retain text flow. The format version can be a pain to edit since it creates a bunch of text boxes. The flow version may require you to reformat in WORD, but you likely would want to do that anyway.

Search Box is not showing in custom master page

I have added Search snippet from the snippet gallery but the search

How should I tag content created in a master page when addressing accessibility before exporting to Acrobat? I can't add the content to the articles pannel because it's locked. I would also like to know how I shold tag my cove content. I dont' want rea

I don't want the reader to get lost in content other than the body of the report, but I also don't want to ignore some content completely by tagging it as artifacts. What should I do y'all?

Hi Rob,
From the screen shots it looks like your script is not formatted properly (you may refer to 'Paladin Script' in 'Sample Project' to get an idea of how the script should be formatted.).
Further please follow the steps mentioned below to use Story to PP workflow.
Create a new Film script in Adobe Story
Create scene heading – INT. LOCATION – Day (these will show up in the outline view panel on left hand side)
Hit enter, hit TAB
Enter the name of the speaker, hit TAB or ENTER
Copy over the transcribed text
Build your script this way
Number scenes from the production menu
Export ASTX file for your script : File->Export->.astx
Open Premiere Pro
Create a new project, bring in media
In the project pane, find the "Scene" column
For the clip that contains the spoken text, assign the same scene number to the clip as you have in the story script (lets say both are scene 1)
Click out of the scene box in the project panel in Ppro
Right click on the scene that you just assigned a scene number to and select – attach Story script
Select the .astx fle you exported in step 8
Click ok
You should now see the script data in the metadata panel for the clip in the metadata panel.
You can now run speech to text based on "Embedded Script metadata" to time align spoken word to the script.

Editable text box on each page, but generated from Master Page?

I want to create a blank text box that lives on the Master Page so that it shows up on each page in the document, but I then would enter custom text into the field on each page ( or just leave it blank).
I know, I know, I can do simply copy a text box from one page, and paste in place on all subsequent pages... or set it up once on a page, then just keep duplicating that page... or some other work around. But simple as those work arounds are, I'd just like a blank text box show up automatically on each page as a master page item, then I can enter text as a see fit and not have to do any duplicating tricks. I've looked up a few tutorials, but none solve for my need.
So I guess the real question is, does InDesign allow the content of a master page text field to be individually edited on the pages of the document itself?

It's bet to NEVER use the override master page items command since it overrides ALL master items. That's like using a wrecking ball as a flyswatter. And you don't need to put random text in the frame either (especially since you said you don't want to use it on some pages, though it might be best for those if you create another master without the frame). To override any master object hold Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) + Shift and click on it with the selection tool.

Why sometimes Master Pages change/shift content on Content Pages???

I come to you with another conundrum. I hope one of you have seen something like this happen before!
Each month we create a newsletter and then we brand it for our various clients - each client getting a different header/footer on all the pages. So we created MasterPages for each client, and when it comes time to export, we apply the Client Master Pages to the content pages and export for each client separately.
However, we have SO many problems with this because inevitably SOMETHING changes in the process. And I am determined to figure out why.
Here is what the bottom of the page looks like. in this particular troubling document. This has our own master page applied to it.
Then when we apply a client's master page, BAM - this happens.
See that odd white space? The blue rectangle that the More Information is sitting on top gets PUSHED DOWN for no apparent reason.
I have investigated all of the master pages. There are no extra pieces of anything. Yet all of the master pages are doing this and I can't figure out why.
I've looked at the layers situation - there's nothing weird about how the layers are set up. I've even tried locking the content layer but this still occurs.
WHY does this happen?
The only way I've found to stop it is to GROUP everything in that section on the page before applying the masters.
But I'm trying to understand why this would happen?
Where should I look for anomalies? Would there be something about the grid or baseline grid I should check on the master pages vs the content pages? Is there some check mark somewhere I'm not thinking of?
I just am totally baffled since there's NOTHING in the middle of the Master Pages that would be affecting the colored box like that.
Any ideas, you brilliant people?? You guys have helped us solve other puzzles in the past and we are grateful for any light you can shed on this issue!

It would be important to see WHAT is on that master page? What is on the page?
Do you work with layers? This is very important! Are all items on the very same layer in both versions?
Do you work with paragraph and object styles? It is a must do!

How to remove the option "Search This Site" from search box on customized Master Page in SP 2013

I want to remove the option "This Site" from search box on Master page. I have searched this forum and found tips. I have added the
<Property Name="DropDownModeEx">ShowDD_NoContextual</Property>
in the file SearchArea under
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\14\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\OSearchEnhancedFeature
But it didn't work. The tips is for SP 2007. Anyone can help me to change this in Sp 2013?

How to link a text box to an anchor frame in the master pages?

Ok, as the title states, we are trying to figure out if it is possible to link a text box to an anchor frame in the master page. When you look at our Master Page layout, we have a text box in the upper left hand corner of the left hand page, this is used for our machine serial numbers. Then we have an anchor frame that automatically fills out the figure number. Let's say I have pages 2 & 3 (left & right), they have a S/N at the top of the page for the machine, then pages 4 & 5 have a different S/N. If I have to add more pages in between pages 2 & 3 (bumping the current 4 & 5 to 6 & 7), the anchor frame bumps to the next page, but the S/N text box doesn't. Is there a way to fix it so that they both move to the next page? Thanks for the help.
P.S. I can include images and other info if needed.

Master Page:
This is the master page set up, the "Page Text Box" has the flow set to "B" while the S/N text box has the flow set to "A". This setup is for our parts manuals, the left page is usually an illustration while the right page is usually a parts list. The text box, anchored frame & paragraph tag are empty in the master page set up. The "page text box" has a flow of "B" and the "S/N text box" has a master flow of "A".
Body Page 1:
When we create new pages, the paragraph tag automatically fills in the figure title on the left page, then we add an anchor frame within the text box to hold the illustration. You will notice that I added in a "test" serial number at the top of the page. Now if I need to go back and add two pages before this, the anchor frame, illustration and parts list will move to a new page, but the S/N text box will not. The "Before S/N TBD" would stay on the original page.
This is what happens, the text box containing the illustration and the parts list "bump" to the next page, but the S/N text box does not. So the question we have is there a way to link that text box to the page so when we create new pages the S/N text box moves with the illustration.
