Master page content in foreground.

Hey there.
I'm trying to set up a site so that the contents of the master page display above rather than below the individual page content.
I found this; Adobe Muse Help | Working with Master Pages which says I should be able to right click on the required content of the master page in design view and select 'move to > Master Foreground'. I can't seem to find this command anywhere in Muse, or find any method at all of displaying master content in the foreground.
I'm using the latest (2014.3) version fully up to date.
Am I missing something or has this functionality changed in newer versions of Muse?
Can someone point me in the right direction?

With the release of Muse version 5.0.704 on June 17, 2013 the Layers panel replaces the Master Foreground/Background feature delivered as part of the Muse Q1 release.
Now to do the same you need to use the layers panel.Please refer to the links below to understand how it works.

Error in displaying master page content in overflowing pages

Hi All,
I am having a master page with logo, bill to party address and item details. The logo and bill to party are in a separate sub form of the master page and the item details are in the design view of the page.
My problem is when the item details overflow to next page, the logo and bill to party address are not appearing in the next page with the item details.
Kindly help me to resolve this issue. I read many post telling the master page content will be repeated on all subsequent pages. Dont know why it fails for me . Am i missing something. Please help.

Hi,
My issue got resolved, i changed my master page overflow to the same master page. Its is displaying the details on the next page when items are over flowing.

Master page content area height

Hello
I have a subform within a master page content area,
The subform has table which i allowed the content to break to the next page.
When i try to get the height of the subform it only gives me the height from the first page and ignores the rest on other pages the table broke to.
I need the height of the subsequent pages in order to position another subform at the bottom of the last page.
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Master Page Content Boxes – Adjusting?

I thought I understood how to use content boxes on master pages, but I think I may have been wrong!
I have set up master pages, for example one right hand page has a square frame. I then drag and place an image in each of the boxes in the main document pages.
However, having then attempted to change the master page, moving or resizing the box on the master is not reflected in the dependent pages within the main document.
(From reading the help pages, I believe this might be because I have overridden it?)
I am part way through creating a document and I realise now that I want to change the page size. Having already added content, I want to be able to reposition all of the main document's image boxes.
Apologies for being ill informed about InDesign. I suspect more preparation would have seen me through here.

Notwithstanding this option in CS6 (I'm using CS5)...
If I don't adjust the page size and I simply move the image box on the master, it does move all of the images on the main pages.
Why should changing the page size first affect how master pages interact with main pages? Is there any way round this?

New to Muse - Help with Text sitting above my master page content header

Hiya Aish, thanks for your response. I have copied the header from master page and pasted it on my home page (assuming this is a layer??) They are the same width i.e. touch the edge of the visible page/background and pinned it. However, it's not filling the entire browser window. It's like it's only the page width and pinning it to the left side of the browser. My text however is going behind this now so thank you. Any chance you could help extend the graphics so they fill the browser width as per the master page please??

How to position chapter number on the master page according to the chapter number?

I'm working with a catalog for a customer with about 250 pages divided into apx 30 chapters. The person who made this document in the first place have a separate master page for each Chapter.
If I use the the Running Header (Paragraph style) text variable I can use the same master page on all chapters - this will be much easier I think.
BUT I have a problem because the chapter number is going to be displayed in different position according to the number (along on the edge of the page with white text in a black rectangle, with the first chapter number on top, the next one beneath and so on - so the reader of the book can see the chapters just by looking at the edge of the book without opening it)
Is there any possibility to have the Chapter Number text variable to be displayed in different location on the page based on the number it self? Or do you have any other ways to solve this in a easy way?

Well, you can not create dependencies like this, but you could use nested master pages. You would still need 30 master pages for 30 chapters, in order to place the chapter number in different positions, but you
would only need one or two main master pages for the rest of master page content. That would make it at least easier to change something on all master pages at once.

Setting elements in master pages to display in the foreground

Hi, I am following “Building your first website with Muse, part 3”, in order to learn how the header content displays in the foreground, above the page content as the pages scroll.
I’ve been following all the steps (with the Katie’s Café website), but I got stuck on this part: “With the entire header content selected, right-click and choose Move To > Master Foreground (see Figure 39). Notice that unlike the usual blue border for selected objects, items set to display in the foreground have a red border when selected.”
Here is my problem: when I right-click on the selected content, I don’t get “Move to > Master Foreground”. Instead, I get “Arrange > Bring to Front, Bring Forward, Send to Back, or Send backwards” (as in Object). There’s no sign of “Move to”. What do I do wrong?...

Master Page Gallery contents renders in old Sharepoint 2007 style after upgrade

I have a site collection that is still rendering the Master Page Gallery items in the Sharepoint 2007 style instead of the Sharepoint 2013 style, and I can't pinpoint where this is coming from. I'm sure it's from a resource that was customized some
time before our Sharepoint 2010 upgrade, preventing the view from upgrading properly at this point. I'm looking for advice on where to look to get to the root of this issue.
Possibly other libraries are affected, but it is most apparent in the Master Page Gallery.
Here's what the items should look like in Sharepoint 2013. In html, the item name column dropdown menus are populated with div elements, and it has a blue background dropdown arrow when hovering over it.
Here's what this site collection renders. In html, the item name column dropdown menus are populated using table elements, and it has a solid border with a different dropdown arrow when hovering over it.
Functionality wise, this is preventing master pages and page layouts from being checked in and checked out and approved from this view. I'm only able to do these changes using the sitemanager page for this site collection right now.
Other information:
- There are other site collections and web applications in this same farm that are not affected, so I don't believe it is a modification made in the hive files
- I've tried making new views of the master page gallery with no success
- I've compared the contents of the AllItems.aspx form in this collection with the AllItems.aspx in a working collection and could not find any difference.
- I suspected that the ListViewWebPart is not current, but I can't find where I can check on this and possibly reset it to site definition. I reviewed all webparts in the _catalogs\wp gallery but can't find a webpart in there that is named ListViewWebPart.
So, the million dollar question is where else should I be checking to get to the bottom of this? Thanks!

For your issue, you can view the Upgrade Status page in Site Settings to verify that upgrade has succeeded for a site collection.
To view upgrade status in Site Settings
1.Verify that the user account that performs this procedure is a site collection administrator.
2.On the Site Settings page for the site collection, in the Site Collection Administration section, click Site collection upgrade.
3.On the Site Collection Upgrade page, click Review Site Collection Upgrade Status.
4.The Upgrade Status page for the site collection is displayed.

Also you can go to _layouts/15/reghost.aspx (Site Settings -> Site Actions -> Reset to site definition) and reset the master page gallery to site definition version.

Page content disappears in Edit mode - Custom Master Page

Hi All,
Below are the two issues I have with my master page.
1) I am facing the strange issue with the pages created using custom page layouts and custom master page.
In browse mode, everything looks perfect and as expected. But when I try to edit the same page, all content disappears as soon as page ribbon appears. When I click back on Browse tab on the ribbon, everything appears back normally.
2) Also When I apply my custom master page as site master for Publishing site it works I can see all my custom design and layout. But when I apply same for team sites, unless I change system master to my custom master page, it doesn't reflect my design.
Does anyone face this issue before?

Once in edit mode, are you able to view the page's source and do a "Find" on a certain keyword that should normally appear in your page's content? Is it there?
I'm trying to determine if its a server side issue with your master page's code that's causing the content not to be sent back across the wire to the user or if the content is there but just not properly presented. Thanks

I don't want the reader to get lost in content other than the body of the report, but I also don't want to ignore some content completely by tagging it as artifacts. What should I do y'all?

Hi Rob,
From the screen shots it looks like your script is not formatted properly (you may refer to 'Paladin Script' in 'Sample Project' to get an idea of how the script should be formatted.).
Further please follow the steps mentioned below to use Story to PP workflow.
Create a new Film script in Adobe Story
Create scene heading – INT. LOCATION – Day (these will show up in the outline view panel on left hand side)
Hit enter, hit TAB
Enter the name of the speaker, hit TAB or ENTER
Copy over the transcribed text
Build your script this way
Number scenes from the production menu
Export ASTX file for your script : File->Export->.astx
Open Premiere Pro
Create a new project, bring in media
In the project pane, find the "Scene" column
For the clip that contains the spoken text, assign the same scene number to the clip as you have in the story script (lets say both are scene 1)
Click out of the scene box in the project panel in Ppro
Right click on the scene that you just assigned a scene number to and select – attach Story script
Select the .astx fle you exported in step 8
Click ok
You should now see the script data in the metadata panel for the clip in the metadata panel.
You can now run speech to text based on "Embedded Script metadata" to time align spoken word to the script.

Custom SharePoint Master Page with Content Editor Web Part.

Hi All,
I have created a custom SharePoint Master Page to apply within my SharePoint Site and it was a success.
When I want to add the content I have to use the script editor web part and add HTML snippets. Then the styles will reflect correctly. But when I use content editor web part some of the styles do not reflect. Lets assume that if I want to add a H2 with the
custom color, the color do not show in the ribbon. And how SharePoint know that this is an <h2> and reflect the other styles like padding, margin and so on.
Please can someone help me to solve this.

From your description, my understanding is that you want to add CSS code in your customized Master Page with content editor web part.
I tested your issue in SharePoint Designer, and I added CSS code successfully.
I accomplish your requirement with steps below:
Add a content editor web part in a list and add some CSS code in the web part.
Open SharePoint Designer, enter the master page.
Insert a content editor web part under INSERT tab in the Ribbon.
Open the list that have edited in step1 in the SharePoint Designer.
Copy code from the list to the Master Page as the screenshot below.
The screenshot below is my result:
In addition, why do not you add CSS code just with <style> tag in your page? Just add CSS code as below(in this method, you do not need any web part.):

Per site, list driven footer and other content areas on a SharePoint 2010 master page?

So I worked with a vendor to provide a js, a powershell script and <div> content holders in a master page that would pull the content dynamically based on the site or subsite, and more specifically from a custom list in that site. To explain, if I
have a root site collection but want to be able to have the end user control the site content, such as a custom top navigation (above the global) and custom footer, and custom place holder content that would appear under the navigation; I would like to have
that content pulled from a list.
My goal is to not have a "custom master page" for the many many sites we have in our environment. I am using twitter bootstrap as the foundation for the master pages, then a set number of page layouts pending whether they want left nav to show
or not. I also typically just use the v4.master for the system pages, but am not sure if that is a best practice either being that the list display forms for a publishing site are ugly so need customized per list.
Has any one done anything like this and if so could you point me in the right direction? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Right now am working within SP2010 but will be testing for SP2013 in the near future.

Include Master Page Items in Table of Contents

I am building a table of contents in InDesign CS3. I've got paragraph style applied to my section heading and well as section subheadings. However, my sections headings are located on Master Pages (as they are repeating on several pages), and my section subheadings are located directly on the pages themselves (as they do not repeat).
When I set up my table of contents only my section subheadings show up, not both. When I go to a page with a section heading and override the master page item and then update my table of contents my section header shows up. Is there any way to include my secion headers without overriding the master page items?

Content place holder in master page

I have created one master page and applied it to SP 2013 site and moved the content place holder at center of the page.
My master page is like top bar as a logo and leftside navigation. So, the content place holder is just down of top bar and right of left navigation.
Now i need to hide/remove all default links appearing at content place holder and have to place my required link. like blogs, news feed. some webpart.
Pleae tell the way how can i hide/remove the default links and put my required links.

Suggest you for create a new layout page for homepage and set the custom masterpage as default one. And do your customization using new-layout page and set as home page.
