  • Matrix report in condensed mode in dot matrix printer

    How can we print a 10g matrix report in condensed mode in dot matrix printer? The dot matrix printer is a Epson LQ 1070+ printer. I am tried using a printer definition file and given printer codes in the report. The printing is not taking place in condensed mode. This method however is working for other reports. Could any one help?

    Hi all,
    This is to inform that I have myself found the solution. It is possible to print matrix report in condensed mode. The method for printing is same as for any other report. The mistake I made was not checking whether the .prt file is getting referred correctly. The DESFORMAT system parameter was getting populated through the calling form. By referring to the correct .prt file the problem got fixed.

  • Xml matrix report not expending horizontally

    hi guys m trying to develop xml matrix report but m totally stuck.value are not expanding vertically.
    RTF tags are here.Plz tell me how can i attach rtf and xml file with this post so you people can help me in better way.
    plz help me its very urgent
    <?for-each:G_1?>
    <?ITEM_CATEGORY?>
    Organization : <?horizontal-break-table:1?>
    <?for-each-group@cell: G_ITEM_CATEGORY; ORGANIZATION_CODE?>
    <? ORGANIZATION_CODE?>
    <?end for-each-group?>
    <?for-each-group: G_ITEM_CATEGORY;ITEM_CODE?> <?ITEM_CODE?>
    <?for-each-group@cell:current-group();ORGANIZATION_CODE ?>
    <?current-group()// AMOUNT?>
    <?end for-each-group?>
    <?end for-each-group?>
    <?end for-each-group?>

    When you say "the values are not expanding vertically" do you mean that on the printed report it is not returning all the values for a given field, i.e. the field is too small to display the entire value.... OR the repeating frame for the group is not expanding enough to display all the fields???

  • Matrix Report overflows to other page

    We have a Matrix Report (Report Builder 6.0.8.20.1) with a lot of columns. The report is in landscape style, but still the matrix will not fit horizontally.
    The second part of the matrix will be displayed on the next page, while there is enough space to display the second part of the matrix on the same page, below the first part of the matrix.
    Does anyone know why Report Builder has this behaviour?
    Thanks in advance,
    Lennart de Vos
    PS: All properties Page Protect, Page Break Before/After have been set to "No". The property Print Direction of the repeating frames in the Matrix cannot be changed

    hello,
    if i understand correctly, the matrix overflows in the horizontal direction to another page and you would like this part to show up below the first part on the same page insead ? much like wrapping the matrix ?
    unfortunately reports does not support wrapping of layout objects. if a layout object exceeds the page in any direction the overflow part will be pushed to another page.
    thanks,

  • How to add a function field into the existing matrix report

    Hi,
    I have a matrix report , now i wanted to add one moe field into the matrix which is getting the value from a function , this function is a part of the ref cursor query(group) , i'm able to get the value from the function but it cannot display on the existing matrix report. i wanted to add this in the repeating frame which is printing down. how could i do this , looking for your help. thanks . bcj

    Here the scenario like,
    Data from Table_1
    NAME UNITS DAYS RATE
    AAA 10 1 1.2
    BBB 12 2 3.1
    AAA 20 2 4.1
    CCC 23 1 5.2
    Here, In the matrix report the NAME and UNITS are row fields and 'DAYS' is column field , RATE would be the cell field, and
    Data from Table_2 ,
    NAME BASIC
    AAA 2
    AAA 2
    BBB 2
    CCC 3
    In the report i have to display the 'BASIC' along with the NAME in row level ( repeating frame printing down),
    To get the multiple 'Basic' for each 'Name' using a ref cursor .
    and, using a function to do further calculation based on the basic value
    begin
    select basic into v_basic where name =:name;
    return(caluculated_value);
    end;
    and return the calculated value to the report. But at that time cannot accommodate the value in the matrix report with other groups frequency.
    looking for your valuable help. Thanks Bcj

  • Matrix Report - REP-1813:Object object name too large to fit in matrix cell

    I had this problem when running a matrix report. The report details are as follow :
    Query : select department,work,salary from sal;
    matrix row field : department
    matrix column field : work
    matrix cell field : salary
    data inserted into table sal :
    department : 10
    work : clerk
    salary : 1000
    I had created the same record for 60 times. Meaning there are 60 records(with same data) in the table. When I run the report, I got the error. But, if I deleted some records, it worked fine.
    In fact, I had already changed the 'Vertical Elasticity' property for all repeating frames to 'Variable'.
    Could somebody please help me to solve this. It is urgent. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Your problem is bacause the innermost fame which is printing salary per row&column is printed 60 times. (because the job & dep are same for all 60 records). You get this error when the inner most frame grows to next page. Try this with setting the max no.of records per page to some 38 or 30 depending on page size. You will get it without error.

  • Report Printing Height Problem

    Hello All
    The furthur detail to my previous problem is given as follows:
    I am getting problem
    with the Oracle reports. I have a dot matrix printer (Epson LQ-300, which is a
    tractor feed printer). While printing a report which is always not more than half a
    page, the printer does not stop after printing the report(the half page). It stops at
    the end of the page. I mean that half the page is printed and the rest half is blank.
    I want that the printer should print only at half a page. On the blank half it should
    print another copy of same report.
    Regards,
    Qaiser Qayyum Malik.

    hello,
    you need to set your printer to the correct page height. reports prints paginated, meaning it issues a page feed comand after each page to ensure the next page really starts at the correct position, the start of the next page.
    if your pritner is set to full page height,then the page feed command forces the pritner to skip the remaining free space on the page. the page size in reports and on your printer need to be the same. so if your report layout is based on a half page (e.g. US letter, 8.5"x11 ... half would be only 5.5" high) then your printer needs to be set the same, meaning with every page feed it only advances 5.5" if that's not the case. you will have to change your report layout to fit the printers page size.
    thanks,
    ph.

  • Matrix object in matrix report

    hi friends
    I am designing a simple matrix report,
    data model - "select deptno , job , sum(sal) from emp group by deptno , job"
    now in the layout model i see that report builder has created a frame in which there is an object called
    "MATRIX
    verti rpeating frame
    horix rep frame
    cross product group
    if i wish to create a matrix report manually without wizard i am unable to find this object
    pls help me how can i create amatrix report manually
    ps help

    Hi,
    in order to create a matrix object you have to:
    - create a repeating frame (say R_1), set its source property to the "column" for the matrix and set its print direction property to "Down";
    - create a new repeating frame (say R_2) that intersect R_1 (they must not be one inside the other, but they must intersect!), set its source property to the "row" for the matrix an set its print direction property to "Across";
    - drag a rectangle around both repating frames (R_1 and R_2) to select them, then choose Insert --> Layout Matrix.
    This creates a matrix object that is the intersection of the two repeating frames.
    Hope this helps you
    Bye
    Raffy

  • Need help with matrix report

    Hi all...
    I am having a problem with one of my report.
    I have a report of a tabular style...just a simple one. It has about 15 column heads like employeeID, employeename, salary , allowance, provident fund and so on. What I need to do is to insert a matrix into this existing report for allowance types (like ...to show what sort of allowance an employee is getting and the sum of allowance). The report column heads should look as follows
    emp ID|emp name|salary|allowance|(allowance type from matrix)|provident fund|......and so on.
    So, I want the allowance type matrix after allowance and before other columns in the report.
    I have already built this report. The problem is that the report doesn't fit in one page and expands to multiple pages. It is acceptable for the report to take more than one page...but the report breaks after the matrix prints and continues in the next page leaving the gap.
    I have tried all the combination of frames but still doesn't work..
    Any suggestions

    Dear ,
    In Matrix Report , There are 2 or more then 2 Repeating frames , As report in going out of page u may have to set the Left to Right Repeating Frame

  • Dot Matrix / Impact printing under MacOS 10.6

    As a last throw of the dice, after days of googling this is my last effort!
    I'm looking for any dot matrix / impact printer (9 or 24pin) that is known to work and compatable with a new iMac running MacOS 10.6
    I've read conflicting reports on using generic drivers on Epson printers, and wondered if anyone has actually tried it (with the use of a Keyspan USB adaptor for instance...)
    Any reports, either good or bad, greatly welcomed!

    Did you ever get an answer on this?
    I ask because I need to "pick one" regarding a new impact printer.
    I'm looking at a Lexmark 2590n...
    Wondering if anyone has any experience here?
    (getting info on dot matrix/impact printers for macs is.... difficult)

  • Matrix reports total -- urgent

    hi
    I want to make a matrix report with the total column reset at report level,i.e. the group total for each row. But instead of printing it at the end of the report, i want it to be printed on the first page before the matrix cell fields start. Now the problem is that on the consecutive pages, the space occupied by this total column is coming blank i.e there's a gap between the matrix column(printed down) and the matrix cells. I dont want this gap at all. Is there any way by which i can make the matrix cells shift to the left so that this gap is not there in the second and the consecutive pages.

    This doesn't work.Had already tried it but it always gives the errors that the matrix repeating frame cannot anchored with other objects though I select it as the parent frame. Also, if I try anchoring it to some other object it gives wierd results

  • Subtotals on Matrix Reports

    I have a matrix report.
    Rows are Items.
    Number of rows are based strictly on data.
    Rows are also grouped on 4 levels different levels with
    SUBTOTALS ON ALL LEVELS
    Levels are Line, Class, Department, Division (and of course
    report).
    Columns are Dates.
    I NEED SUBTOTALS ON ALL ITEMS ON ALL LEVELS FOR ALL DATES.
    I go thru the Wizard and choose Matrix with Group.
    I Define Groups, Rows, Columns and Cells.
    I indicate that I want totals on all cell fields.
    I finish the wizard.
    I get data broken out by item and week correctly.
    The subtotals for the first level (Line) print correctly under
    the appropriate date column. In my example I have 3 dates on the
    report. I get three sets of subtotal.
    BUT at all other levels the totals are INCORRECT and the report
    is summerizing ALL weeks for the items into ONE bucket. I need
    the summary to be broken out by week (column data). I would
    expect again three sets of data as was the base
    on the first level.
    Any ideas?

    You can summarise multi-levels in a matrix by creating matrix summaries and setting the appropriate "Product Order" and "Reset at" values. The "Product Order" defines the frequency at which the matrix column is evaluated. The "Reset at" simply allows you to create running summaries if required - though it needs to be kept in sync with the "Product Order".
    For this example, you need to create 4 Matrix summary columns. All columns have the same source - a column in the matrix cell group, and go into the corresponding matrix frame for the frequency you want to display:
    - CS_TotalForLine:
    ProductOrder - G_Date
    ResetAt - G_Date
    - CS_TotalForClass:
    ProductOrder - G_Line, G_Date
    ResetAt - G_Date
    - CS_TotalForDepartment
    ProductOrder - G_Line, G_Class, G_Date
    ResetAt - G_Date
    etc.

  • Matrix Reports Orientation!

    Hi,
    I have the following situation:
    Report Orientation: Landscape.
    Paper Size: Letter
    Report Type: Matrix.
    My matrix report fetches 20+ COLUMNS and 80+ ROWS. In this situation, neither all ROWS nor all COLUMNS fit on one page.
    What happens is, when the report prints from the 2nd page onwards, the MATRIX ALIGNMENT GOES HORRIBLY OUT OF SEQUENCE.
    (Note: U need to try this senario to see the output for visualizing).
    Please let me know if i can do anything to correctly print the output data under respective ROW/COLUMN.
    Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Report Printing - Excel error

    Hi all,
    I'm not sure what's causing this error.
    With a regular report (not Interactive) region, I have enabled the report printing. All file types open/save correctly except for Excel.
    When opening the file, Microsoft Excel actually pops up this error:
    File cannot be opened because:
    The server did not understand the request, or the request was invalid.
    Error processing resource 'http://www.w3.org/TR/xhmtl1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd'.

    This XML file cannot be opened because of an error. Check to make sure the file is a valid XML file, and that the XML syntax is correct.
    You can also try re-creating the file and closing other applications before you attempt to open it again.Excel version is Excel 2002 SP3 (v10.x).
    Some additional info that might be helpful:
    When Excel is opening, the status bar shows it is "Opening HTML.XLA", the shows "Opening {filename}.xls" but fails halfway through that.

  • Dunning Report Print Layout Issue

    How can I fix this. This is coming from the System template and we havent change anything.
    Could you please help me.
    Thanks
    Sanjaya

    Hi
    I solved the problem. But the issue was when i ran the dunning wizard the layouts messed up. For example if I had a dunning letter with 3 lines (overdue documents). The last line would copy itself 4-6 times (it would show the last document 4-6times so the total lines in the dunning letter would be 7-9 lines). But I solve the issue. Somehow the attention person (which I got from the contact persons (ocrp) and not from the document contact person (oinv) ) did the issue. When i switch it to the oinv the issue was gone.
    kind regards
