Maximum animation speed of UIImageView

I have a UIImageView containing a two-frame animation. I'd like to use an animationDuration as short as 1/40th of a second, is this possible or is there some hardware limitation that I'm going to run into first?
Thanks!

This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks mmalone84.
It looks like it tops out at 30fps. I'm not sure if that is a hard-limit or some kind of governed/soft limit (seems like too much of a coincidence that it would be almost the same as the NTSC standard video rate).
Thanks again for your help!

  • Problem with 'maximum achievable speed'

    Hello,
I'm hoping you'll be able to offer me so helpful advice.
I'm an Orange home broadband customer, which I believe is provided through yourselves. When I signed up to Orange they stated I could expect speeds of up to 20mb. I live as close to the exchange as you could get really. On my online account it states - "The speed estimate at registration or the speed we have measured on your line is 14.0Mb"
For the first couple of months I was regularly getting speeds of 8-10mb. To be honest I'm perfectly happy with anything over 2mb.
However, recently my speeds have been always on the 1mb mark, causing buffering for iPlayer, youtube etc. Having run the BT Speedtester, I find that my maximum achievable speed seems to have been capped at 1mb. What would be the reason for this? I've read my terms and conditions and have not exceeded any bandwidth levels, I don't even download songs, let alone movies.
How do I go about getting this 'maximum achievable speed' back to how it used to be?
    Thanks!
    Download  Speed
    927 Kbps
    0 Kbps
    1000 Kbps
    Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 927 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 400-1000 Kbps.
     Additional Information:
     Your DSL Connection Rate :1148 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 1160 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 1012 Kbps

  • Maximum upload speed of 2700HGV?

Hi. I'm using the 2wire BT2700HGV router on my Infinity connection, which should be about 66mbps download and 20mbps upload, according to the BT website when I ordered the connection.
When I've got nothing but a single ethernet wire connecting me, and wifi switched off, the maximum speeds I get are about 75mbps download and about 10mbps upload.
I've tried swapping the 2700HGV out for a Home Hub 3, and the speeds I get are up to about 75mbps download and 16mbps upload.
The problem is, I need to use the 2700HGV, or a better alternative, as I need to use BT Broadband Voice through it. The Home Hub 3 just doesn't have a phone port, so it's simply not an option.
I was wondering, what is the maximum upload speed the 2700HGV can actually achieve? Is it the router model that's the limitation, or just that I need to tweak it to get the desired upload speed?

  • Changing the UIScrolView animation speed on setContentOffset:animated:?

    Hi,
I am wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to change the UIScrollView animation speed when calling setContentOffset:animated:? I would like to control the speed of the scrolling animation, but I am not sure how. Also, I am wondering if it is possible to stop the animation before it has completed?
    Thanks,

    Hi ,
I just found your post while searching for the same thing.I see the post is quite old and doesnt have any answer.Did you manage to find how to do this though ? If so it would be very helpful to post how

  • Whats the maximum achievable speed of data transfer from RT to host PC

    Hi
Anybody can tell me whats the maximum achievable speed of data transfer from RT to host PC, in case of both PXI and CompacRIO.
    Regards
    Visuman

    Hi visuman,
To be honest, the dataspeed is dependent on how you architect the code, and the data communication channels that you use.
There are many factors that influence the maximum transfer rate, including network topology, types of interface used, OS, ambient network traffic etc.
You can control two things, packet size, and amount of sleep time between transmissions.
By altering the delay between consecutive TCP/IP transmissions and by varying the packet sizes sent from the embedded side to the host side, you can obtain a clear picture of network characteristics between the two devices. The end result is a report of the optimal TCP/IP configuration, that is packet size and sleep time.

  • Best configuration for maximum WiFi speed?

Hello, I am trying to configure my network for the best WiFi speed. I have a Comcast/Xfiinity Modem/ Wireless Router (SMCD3GNV) with speed of 50 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up (acutally 87 down and 11.5 up last time tested) and 3 Airport Extremes, and a 16 port GB switch.  I am really confused about what should be plugged in to what and how to set up the Airport extemes for best WiFi speed for laptops, iphones and iPads etc. . I have a large house and want the WiFi to be available everywhere. Shoud I plug the Modem/Router and the first Airport extreme into the switch and then set up the other 2 Airport extremes as extended networks, or should I plug all the Airports into the switch, or should I plug just the first Airport into the switch and then connected the other 2 Airports into the 1st?  Like I said I am really confused. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vic

For the best configuration for maximum WiFi speed, connect all your Extremes to the switch.
The effective range of your wireless network will be a function of the distances the Extremes are from one another. Each will be limited by Ethernet specification to a maximum distance 100m from the switch or adjacent Extreme.

  • V04 and maximum download speed - how do BT get awa...

I have been a BT Vision customer for only 1 week and all seemed well at first.
I moved to where I now live on the 1st November and my Total Broadband service was implemented on that date (I have had Total Broadband for many years at my previous address).
Today I have the dreaded "V04" message and a line sped check reveals a download speed of only 1230 kbps (with an apparent line maximum of 2000 kbps). What the heck is that about? Is this the 21st century or not?
I live in the middle of a state of the art city development literally next door to the new MediaCity in Manchester (soon to be home to the BBC) so I would have expected line speeds here to be as high as you could have got ANYWHERE
In addition, how does BT justify selling a product they must KNOW (based on the maximum line speed figure the speed test has thrown up) will not be useable
If there really are BT people on this forum, I would love some answers and not from someone in a Mumbai call centre who, whilst trying their best, is really just going through the scripted responses
Another day like this and frankly, BT can shove their box up their nearest junction box!

I take it from your post that On Demand was working?
If so and your line speed has now dropped then you need to report a line fault.

  • Maximum clip speed in FCE and FCP?

I'm currently using iMovie '09, which allows a clip speed increase of up to 2000% (two thousand percent). I'm considering purchasing FCE or FCP but before I do, I'm hoping someone can tell me the maximum clip speed increase. Just FYI, In iMovie '09, the slider stops at 800%, but a value of 2000% can be manually entered. Thanks for any insight.

  • How do you stop published animation speeds scaling with duration?

I'm working on a title effect in Motion 5 for Final Cut Pro X 10.0.1.
It's working very well - apart from the fact that if I change the duration of the Title, it changes the speed of movement of my text. This makes it difficult for users of the effect in Final Cut make the animation speed consistent between various instances of the title. It also means that if tech specs define specific speed in pixels per second, there's no way of setting such values in parameters published in Final Cut Pro X effects.
It currently uses a Throw behaviour - I've published the Throw velocity.
Does anyone know of a different behaviour or animation method that doesn't scale with the length of the generator. Ramp and Rate parameter behaviours don't work (they are time scaled). I can't use keyframes because they scale with time too.

I fixed this by using adding a 'Project Loop End' marker to the end of the effect!
I thought this sort of marker was only needed to prevent clips being time scaled...

  • No Animation speed options...!!!

In all the phones/tablets after android 4.0 have option for changing animation speed in developer options. But in my Lenovo A1000G, I didn't found one. And also many other options are missing. There are only three options. Actually in all other devices, there are 15-20 options. Where are they hidden Lenovo????
You can say thank you by pressing the star left to my post IF I HELPED YOU

    -Go to menu, settings,
    -about phone
-scroll to the bottom and find "build number"
-tap it 7 times (upon completion, it will say that you're a developer)
-the menu is now near the bottom of the main settings menu (just above about phone)

  • PSE 8 Mac version - Animation Speed settings not working

I just recently bought PSE 8 Mac version and pretty happy with it, I am having a problem with animation speed, I understand that you have to use the tab key in anination settings to get the speed to opne, but now It will not let me adjust the speed, it is stuck on 0.2 ! does anyone know how to correct this problem, Should I got to adobe with the bug?
    Sure would appreciate some help

How big is the file size for the completed gif? Does it display like this in other programs?
Also, are you sure that it's not affecting the display rate? Remember that .2 second is really fast. Even duping will still leave it going pretty quickly. What puzzles me is that you say it makes no difference at all. If you want a sloow gif, like one where an eye blinks every five seconds or so, you'll need to use something else to create it.

  • Maximum CPU speed?

What happens if I set 'maximum CPU speed' to 'highest' instead of 'adaptive'? If my laptop has a battery attached while also connected to AC, would setting it to the' highest' level of maximum CPU speed shorten my battery life? If setting it to 'highest' makes the CPU speed the fastest, what could be a reason for not setting it to highest when a laptop is connected to AC (as opposed to a battery, in which case setting it to 'highest' will shorten the battery lasting time). Thanks.

    joy2u,
Your processor will simply run at a its highest clock speed and give the best performance when set at "maximum". When left on adaptive, the processor will throttle down to a lower speed and only increase if more processing power is needed (running games, Photoshop, CAD software, etc.). This improves battery life by only using more power when necessary.
As far as wanting to set the CPU to adaptive while on battery or AC power, you would make the CPU last longer because it isn't working as hard, and thus, less voltage is applied, and less heat is created (both big enemies of processors). Additionally, you will reduce power consumption and lower your power bill, but the savings will probably be insignificant.

  • What's the maximum LAN speed with the Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter on my MacBook Pro?

While I was at Yodobashi Camera yesterday, I got a Thunderbolt to Gigabit ethernet adapter for my MacBook Pro. I figure, since I'm paying for the high speed fiber optic (Sony Nuro), why limit my self to wi-fi speeds at home?
Before connecting the adapter, via wi-fi it the speed was 143.8 Mbps down and 181.5 Mbps up.
After connecting the adapter and making a direct LAN connection to the router, the speed is 783.2 Mbps down and 940.1 Mbps up.
I'm certainly happy with the speed, but since Sony Nuro is supposed to be 2 Gbps down and 1 Gbps up I was wondering what the maximum possible is with this computer and adapter. Before asking the provider I was curious what the maximum specs where.
    The ether cable is a 3 m category 6.
    Thanks,
    doug

It's not really your computer that is getting the 2Gbps download - it is the router/ modem.
If you hooked better/ different hardware up you could probably push those speeds around your network too. The trouble is that most residential hardware is gigabit ethernet not fibre. Fibre cards & cable are expensive in comparison.
The existing hardware may allow you to 'bond or aggregate' multiple ethernet connections into one link to get more speed over ethernet. Obviously this requires more complex routers, switches & a network admin to set it up
Those speeds sound nice, this bottleneck will mean that other devices on you network can't choke up the whole connection & make other users sad.

  • Maximum write speed to log file, trying to get a log entry every 100ms.

I have a DAQmx application which data I want ot log. The aquistion is ran at a high speed, 1 KHz. I want to log the measurements to a text file which can read in Matlab or excel. I a wondering what the best approach is for this and what is the maximum speed.
I have created a program below to test. But it seems that the log is not consistent at 10 Hz alread. The log interval is set to 100 ms while the loop is running at 10 ms.  If I look at the time between the sampes 6 of them are higher than the 100ms. The time between some steps is 700ms which is quite high. Is this implementation wrong or is this just due to the undeterminstic computer?

    LennartM wrote:
But the program does not stop...It seems it is waiting on another notification to stop or something?
That is a very likely scenario.  The simple solution here is to destroy the notifier after the top loop completes and make your bottom loop stop when there is an error from the Notifier (when it was destroyed).  That would eliminate the need for the local variable and would ensure that both of your loops stopped.

  • Adjusting the animation speed from outside javascript

Is it possible? i want to speed up the animation if, lets say, someone clicks on a menu item an the visible viewport is at the end of the animation.
I found a variable called "pixelperms" in the edge.js but i don't know how to acces it.
    Help highly appreciated!

Are you using the Timeline for animations or jquery animate() methods?
