Media Player 11/empty PC Library/unable to transfer, import, sync - Micro Photo proble

I've just received a new computer and had to download my Micro software all over again - Media Source 5, burner, playsforsure. Running WMP . Windows XP Professional with SP 2. ?My problem -- my PC Library is empty. I can't seem to get the music from my mp3 to PC Library - by importing, transferring or syncing!? I have changed my settings in Sync Mgr to PC Library but cannot change the arrow to go right to left (ie - from my player to PC Library). What do I do? I've tried dragging music and playlists over from player to PC Library when in Organizer, but it won't let me (but it did before). Do I need to roll back to WMP 0? I didn't have any problems when using that on my old computer. If so, how do I do it's? My player is recognised, no problems with the firmware. No problems with the software either, as far as I can tell, other than having an empty PC Library and not being able to transfer music over from my player. Any suggestions?

i see a lot of threads about charging the battery.
i sell high end digital cameras, have for 6 years now. i'm not talking the stuff you find at fry's but the really high end stuff.
this stuff also uses proprietary lithium ion batteries (actually the only thing proprietary is the connectors, all cells come from the same manufacturers)
the key to lithium ion batteries is:
) let it charge overnight the first time you charge it
2) it takes about 3 full charges and full drains to get the proper life out of it
3) they dont have memory, ever. i have several abused lithium ion camera batteries that can attest to this
4) replace after 8 months without fail
my point is, don't stress over it. my micro only got about 7 hours of continous playback with eq on and it just sitting there, and not much more with eq off. the player's life on a single charge and constant crashing when switching off are the only reasons why i returned it on sunday for an ipod mini.

    Hey Pragyant,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities! It sounds like your iTunes isn't recognizing that you have your iPad plugged in. If that's that case, I'd check out the following article and the troubleshooting steps within should resolve the issue:

  • "Damaged" library unable to transfer to new Mac

    Hi,
I am trying to upload my pictures from my external hard drive onto my new MacBook. My old iBook was using iPhoto 2, which I believe is the issue because I have tried opening iPhoto with my EHD library, moving it to the desktop, and moving it to the pictures folder. Each time, after clicking "upgrade photos" I still receive the error message "Your photo library is damaged or unreadable and cannot be opened. Please restore from a backup." Will I not be able to view them at all?

Depending on the nature of the damage you might have to harvest the full sized files from the library to import into a new iPhoto 7 library. First download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, putting your administrator login name in the owner section and Staff in the group section. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field. Now try to open it with iPhoto.
If that doesn't work download and run iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild the library as follows:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 -Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 -Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: It may take some time to create the new library if you have a lot of photos. Report back on how long it took and how many photos you have in the library so we can give other users an idea of how long it may take.
Now try opening the newly created library with iPhoto 7. If that fails you can try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto 7 with the Option key depressed and, when asked, select Create Library.
2 - drag the iPhoto 2 Library folder into the open iPhoto window.
This will import the original and modified files as new files. However, you will end up with many, many Events which you'll probably want to consolidate. You can do that by making Smart Albums by Month or by Year, select all of the photos is those smart ablums and creating a new Event (Roll in a former life).
When you get the new library up and running you may want to cull out the modified files (which will look like duplicates) with Duplicate Annihilator. Be sure to make a backup copy of the library before running it in case the outcome is not what you wanted.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • How do I get music already on my laptop on (amazon, Emodio, Windows media player) into my itunes library, I have just done the icloud match as I thought this would do it for me, but the only songs on my phone are the 40 that I already had in itunes..

How do I get music already on my laptop into my itunes account library? I have just done the icloud match thinking this would pick them all up, but it hasn't, all it has done is match the 40 songs I already have in my itunes library. I wanted to get some more  music onto my iphone and I am stuck. If someone could assist, that would be great. Thanks. Sue

  • When I downloaded I tunes and bought Match all 3 of my computers synced. Now I download a song from Amazon into Media player or burn a cd and they are not syncing with the other computers. I update match and have my boxes checked in preferences.

When I originally downloaded i tunes and bought match all 3 of my computers synced. Now when I download a song from Amazon into media or burn a cd into media they are not syncing. I go in and update match thinking that might work, it hasn't. I have all of my boxes checked in preferences on all 3 computers.

Yes i've tried all of that. I've turned it all the way on and off and erased all of my music and put it back on and nothing works. And with the breaking up CDs and putting into compilation categories i have already fixed all of that stuff. It's fine it just doesn't show up in the list of artists. I can find the album in the songs category and the albums category it's just it doesn't show tha name of the artist. All of the other albums that i downloaded before i updated my itunes to th most recent update are fine. It's just the two that i downloaded afterwards. Thanks for trying though.

  • Unable to migrate, import, sync bookmarks to 2nd Firefox on partition

Started with Mac OSX10.8. Added 10.6 partition.
When I opened the same Firefox in 10.6 partition, my bookmarks didn't show up but browser.
I downloaded a new firefox just for the 10.6 partition. I was not prompted to import my bookmarks, and I cannot figure out how to import them. I looked at the sync options on this firefox and it mirrors the first one...meaning it has my sync account already on it, and the 'sync now' option under tools, not 'set-up sync' and it does not provide the 12 digit key code.
If I could just import the bookmarks etc that I already have that would be something, but I can't find a menu option for that. I wasn't given the option upon start up.
If I have to start clean and reinstall 10.6 first, I will. I just need to know what I can expect to work wit a partition. I haven't been able to find mac specific info in any forum.
Probably even more problematic, each time I open firefox, it prompts me to download yet another firefox download disk image???
    thanks for any help!

Also, I would love to know where the firefox bookmark folder is in 10.8. It doesn't come up in search. I can't find the path.
I do know that in 10.6 the bookmarks are here:
    Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<randomname>.default
    (found them...they are hidden lol)

  • How can I copy my iTunes library to windows media player?

Hi, I've spent all morning trying to consolidate all my music into Windows Media Player...so I can make playlists, etc. iTunes seems to be pretty tough....I've moved the library file around....copied, etc. and I can't seen to paste it into Windows Media Player. My itunes library has about 50 purchased songs, and another 100 from my own CDs.
Does anyone know how to do this? I'm getting really irritable over this!!!
    Thanks in advance!

The iTunes purchased songs will not transfer to Windows Media Player. Unless you have the iTunes Plus versions, iTunes purchased files are copy protected.
There is nothing preventing you from adding the other files to Windows Media Player except for maybe file format. Did you rip the CDs to AAC or MP3 format. Don't know if WMP can play AAC. WMP has no problems with MP3.
To add MP3 files to WMP just add them using WMP functions.

  • Trying to use Media Player

I have just upgraded my Mac to Tiger but i now cannot launch Media Player. It worked before the upgrade.
When i try to launch it the application attempts to launch but then crashes. I have tried reinstalling the application but the same things happens..
It says the application quit unexpectedly.....and i have a choice to Close, Reopen or send a report...
    Any ideas??

Some people have been having issues with Windows Media Player and Tiger 10.4.1.
The solution appears to be, exit the application, then to delete the three preferences files from:
    Home/Library/Preferences/
    They are:
    com.microsoft.mediaplayer.plist
    Windows Media Favorites
    Windows Media Player Prefs
Empty the trash and then then restart Windows Media Player, then see if that makes a difference.

  • HT1386 i am new to iphone and would like to use songs from my media player as ringtones is theire a simple way to do this?i was using an android phone and all you had to do was play a song you likedand push a save as ringtone button.

    i want to download ringtones from music on my computer,media player or external hard drive using windows computer;

Import the songs to your iTunes library, use iTunes to create your ringtones (see http://cnettv.cnet.com/create-free-ringtones-itunes-10/9742-1_53-50093086.html), then sync the ringtones to your phone.

  • I have tried to transfer files from my windows media player to my ipod but it saysthe device has stopped responding or stopped working.this is the first time ive connected nmy ipod to my new pc.any ideas?

I have tried to transfer music from my windows 7 media player to my ipod. This is the first time i have tried to use my ipod on my new computer .In the media player it doesnt give me the option to add to itunes library it just give me the option to send to my ipod and when i do this it says that the device has stopped responding or isnt working.Any ideas? coz i aint got the foggiest where i am going wrong. My ipod keeps telling me to update the software, but then will i lose the music thats already on my ipod?

You should import the music (that is listed in Windows Media Player) into your iTunes Library - on your computer - to add it to your existing iTunes Library. I take it you have moved (or copied) your music from the old computer to the new computer, haven't you?
Then Sync your iPod to that Library.
iPods will not respond to Windows Media Player, they're designed to connect to iTunes.

  • Moving music files from windows media player to itunes

when I first got my ipod, only half of my music files moved from windows media player into itunes. Is there anyway I can import the rest of the music from windows media player into Itunes? I have tried using the import function and add file or folder to library and they do not seem to work!

iTunes will not accept Window Media player tracks that are protected. If you imported them off your own CDs, did you check the option to apply protection to them? If so, your only choice is to re-rip those CDs.

  • J2me Media player with windows DRM support

    Hi guys
I am trying to build a j2me client , which will support windows DRM ,
has any one tried out this , or could point me to any links or information.
    thanks

Both work here without any problem. I suspect a bad installation. Start over by first deleting these from ~/Library/Preferences/: com.microsoft.mediaplayer.plist, Windows Media Favorites, Windows Media Player Prefs; these from /Library/Internet Plug-ins/: /Disabled Plug-ins/Windows Media Plugin, Flip4Mac WMV Plugin.plugin, and Flip4Mac WMV Plugin.webplugin; and the Flip4Mac WMV.prefPane from /Library/Preference Panes/Flip4Mac WMV.prefPane, restarting, repairing permissions, reinstalling WMP and see if it launches. If so, reinstall Flip4Mac and see if that launches. If you have any problems, report back.

  • I pod Nano and Windows Media player.

Can someone please help! All my music is in windows media player and I dont know how to transfer it over to by nano.

If the WMA files are "unprotected", iTunes can convert them when you add them to your library. It should do this automatically when you use the "file/add to library" option in iTunes.
If not, see: How to convert a song to a different format using iTunes.
However, iTunes cannot convert "protected" WMA files.
The only way to convert these files would be to burn them to an "audio" cd and import that into iTunes as you would any other cd.
Once they are in iTunes and converted to a format the iPod can read, they should transfer.

  • Cisco Media Player Indexing

When I opened the Cisco Media Player to my music library, I received a message the program was indexing and to try again later.  When I finally was able to open my library, a number of tracks from different artists and albums fell under an "Other" genre and were displaced from their normal positiions.  The features and help for the Media Player are pretty lame, and I need to know how I can get Cisco Media Player to re-index my library back to its original condition.  Refreshing the zones and locations does not do the trick.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Well, after a lot of teeth gnashing and hair pulling, I finally caved in and called Linksys support.  Most of the tech's suggestions were things we talked about earlier, such as the cache flush.  I described to him that I uninstalled the program and re-installed at least three times with no success.  After uninstalling I even went into the registry and elminated any reference or key which contained the words "Cisco Media" and CiscoMedia".  After each install the Cisco Media Player did not show my music library, but it could play the radio stations.   The program would also give me the same message it had earlier about indexing the files.
It was at that point the tech mentioned something which stunned me.  He asked about the LELA version and build.  When I told him I had the latest build, he said I was running the 32 bit version.  My operating system is Vista Ultimate 64.  When I loaded the program from the CD, it had an older version of LELA so the program automatically downloaded the latest '32' bit version.  The tech gave me the URL for the 64-bit version - http://update.linksys.com/lela/install/lela-64.exe.  I uninstalled everything including LELA and went in and scratched the registry as before.  Plus I made sure the Cisco Media Player folder was deleted from the Program files (x86) folder.  After I installed the 64-bit LELA and Cisco Media Library, everything came up right.  The music files were there and indexed correctly and LELA wasn't quirky about the connections as before.
What really aggravated me is the fact that the install disc did not ever query me on the operating system I was using.  It automatically loaded the 32-bit version and then downloaded the updated version.  Not only that but I never did see any reference in their support page about a 64-bit version .  This was Major aggravation with a capital "S".  Well at least I don't feel like I wasted $300 on a POS.  Things are working fine now and I guess that's what's important.
