Meeting Place 8.5 Calling Webex participants for Audio

I have MP8.5 intergration with Webex and Users are managed by Webex.
The Application Server is set up for Audio only.  Users are synced up with Webex.
MP is set up as the audio controller for WebEx meetings.
Users that log into Webex for a meeting are asked to either dial in or have WebEx do a call back using the MP AS.
Users who dial in get to the MP AS and can be seen using the audio, Audio meeting works fine.  Users who try and use WebEx call back are not getting called.  When users are asked to put in their call back number the Webex prompt is forcing USA (or anyother dial plan) and this is causing a "1" to be prefixed to the number the user wants called.  The MP AS is integrated with a CUCM across a SIP trunk.  The internal users all have to dial "9" to access a outside line.
I have two questions.
How do I force the Webex to stop prefixing the "1" to numbers it is calling?
When the AS tries to call out to users, how do I get it to prefix a "9" so it can dial out of my system?
As always any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Hello,
I have the same problem.
I cannot make internal call-back (to my Directory number) from the WebEx
There are some countries (including mine) that are not in the WebEx call back menu, even if I have control of the my MP and CUCM.
And the E164 is ot fullfilled. If i want to call another number.

  • Meeting place 8.5.1 WebEx deployment and recording audio calls

Have MeetingPlace 8.5.1 application server (Web Ex deployment model -- 1 server) and we need to record our audio calls and that option displays error.
I looked over docs and configuration guidelines, and see no recording options on our config pages for users/user groups like the documentation states to enable this.
Do I need a audiorecording license, and if so, is the WebEx deployment model the correct model to work with recording? The cisco docs on this are not very clear and I haven't found a document that really lists/compares every feature available for each deployment model. The documents that mention audiorecording license talk about an Audio server or meetingplace deployment.
    Thanks, Erick

I have this working now, I had to add a 1- to the access number so it was 1-XXX-XXX-XXXX on the Meeting Place web ex configuration page then redo the Webex configuratin setup.

  • Question in Cisco Unified Meeting Place 8.5 with Webex integration

    Greetings,
Let us say that I have the following requirements for fresh installation:
    UCS C210-M2
    CUWL-Pro for users (700 users)
    CUCM 8.6
    Cisco unified Meeting Place 8.5
My concern is about Meeting place; one of the requirments is to order Meeting Place 8.5 for local (on-premises) audio conferencing, and use Cisco Webex (cloud) for Web & Video conferencing.
    I have the following questions:
    - What part numbers should be ordered for meeting place and Webex?
    - CUWL-Pro comes with Webex ports included, can use those ports?
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi Anand,
For MP 8.5 new setup, you don't need a web server. Web server is an optional component only when you are upgrading the system from earlier MP releases.
If you are installing Webex node, it needs to be on a seperate MCS server (however, this is an optional component).
Application server and Express Media Server require only one UCS server if this is single node deployment.
Hardware requirements for application server and Webex node can be found in the following documents:

  • Meeting place 8.0 and WebEx Node Integration issue.

    Hello All,
We have installed MP 8.x and Webex node on seperate servers. After this we have installed a webserver.exe and sql server on a different server and configured the GatewaySIM and sql. connectivity is fine.
    1. Please let us know how to login to MP user portal. (What is the URL)
    2. How to integrate Webex with MP?
    3. Is there a good document to bring up the webex web interface.
    Regards,
    Shaijal

    Take a look at http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Cisco_Unified_MeetingPlace_Release_8.0_--_Integrating_Cisco_Unified_MeetingPlace_with_Cisco_WebEx
That has all the information I used to eventually get the MP WebEx integration to work for us.
If you have problems you may struggle to get a good answer from Cisco on this, unfortunately there is very little knowledge of WebEx within Cisco TAC, something they badly need to address.

  • Meeting Place and Webex Call Back Failing

    Hi
Meeting place 8.5 with WebEx scheduling, SIP trunk to CUCM 8.5.
Calling in using the specified number configured in call manager completes over the SIP trunk however call back from webex fails.
    Error:
WebEx call back failed; no answer.
Problem is I never recieve a call. I have enabled Webex call backs in webex.
Seems like there is an issue on either MP or CUCM.
Just looking for some ideas as I am stumped.

This turned out to be a few things:
    1) I needed to configure a SIP proxy to CUCM from meeting place. This was the CUCM IP address and TCP port number.
    2) The SIP trunk security profile needed to be reconfigured for this trunk.
    3) E164 was being used so I created a translation pattern to strip the + for the CSS associated with the RP.
A few things learned along the way.
    1) The "activity" command ran from a SSH prompt with allow you to simulate a call from meeting place. Option 4, enter the number to dial and "f" for port.
    2) In meeting place - Services -Logs - System Information Capture - Loading the index file and under the  CCA SIP LOG is the error being returned by CUCM. In my case it was Warning: 399 CSLCCM1 "Unable to find a device handler for the request received on port
    3) Command "cptrace" again from the SSH prompt will allow you to view the digits being sent from webex to meeting place.
I hope this information helps someone...

  • Meeting Place Configuration Doc

    Hi
I am configuring Meeting Place 8.5. Can anyone please provide me Meeting Place 8.5 basic configuration guide. I have the cisco guide with me. I have created sip trunk in cucm and done basic configuration in Meeting Place server as per cisco guide. But when I test calling meeting place number, the call gets disconnected. Something somewhere I have missed. I have successfully imported the users to the meeting place server.  Thank u.

    Hi,
Are you using EMS or HMS? Can you make sure you have correct configuration on SIP trunk (CUCM side) and make sure on MP you have configured the correct CUCM configuration under SIP config.
Login to your MP as root and see check below:
    1. cd /var/mp
    2. ls -l
and see if you see cca directory or not? If not then looks like you configured the MP for HMS but you don't have hardware MCU or possibly MCU is not online or not configure properly.
If you see above directory do below:
    cd /var/mp/cca
    tail -f tvsip* | grep -e '--'
make a test call and you will see sometihng on your screen, capture the whole stuff and post here will look tell you what's going on but if you don't see any calls coming that means call is not even landing to MP then check your CUCM for possibly PT, CSS, RP, RP, Trunk etc.
Please let me know if you need any more info.
If you need immediate assistance kindly open a TAC case.

  • Meeting Place Queries

    Hi,
I am having CCM(8.5) in cluster and meeting place,i have 2 Voice Gateways for my company,Currently Meeting Place runs on 1 Gateway which is used for calling and the other Voice Gateway is also usedfor calling but for other Office in same company,
question is :-The Other Gateway which is used by OTHER OFFICE OF SAME COMPANY CAN IT BE USED FOR CONFIGURING OTHER NUMBER OF MEETING PLACE(as a back up MEEITNG PLACE) number??
             Any Help will be appreciated

    Hi Yogesh,
MP does not perform digit analyisis. In other words, it will honour an INVITE sent to it regardless the number.
Be aware that MP is expected to be deployed on SIP trunk with CUCM.

  • Meeting Place 8.6 Integration with Webex

Hi, I would like to get a better understanding of workflow and packet flow for MP 8.6 integration with Webex.
My customer is looking to initiate an on prem meeting with MP 8.6 via outlook scheduling /jabber (if possible). All audio and video would be on prem. Also, this would be a multipoint video call, so I am assuming an MCU would be required (unless MP 8.6 provide MCU capabilities).
Then, through a federated IM environment, my customer would like to be able to chat with an external partner via jabber and escalete the on prem MP8.6 conference to a Webex meeting to add the external partner to the meeting.
    Questions
    1. Are you able to walk me through how this would work?
    2. Can you recommend a bill or materials based on the scenario and facts below? Right now I am assuming we need CUWL professional for required users,  a UCS C210, an MCU and Webex subscription.
    Current Assumptions & Questions
    1. In this scenario the audio bridge would have to remain on prem and the external partner could request a call from meeting place to join the audi bridge back via Webex. Correct?
    2. If am MCU is being used on prem for the multipoint video conference and the conference was escalated to a webex via jabber how many video connections to Webex would there be? Single multiplexed video from the MCU or individual video connections from on prem to Webex and Webex would combine the video sources?
    3. Is Webex Node still required?
    4. With MP 8.6 is scheduling still tightly integrated with Outlook?
    Facts:
    1. Users are a combination of CUWL standard and professional. Professional users for conferencing and mobile jabber.
    2. Customer has TP envrironment which would be multipoint video participants
    3. Customer has compatible CUCM and CUPS with MP 8.6
    4. Jabber desktop will be installed on all clients
    5. Customer is expanding PRI, ISR and DSP resources to support additional audio requirements

All - what have discoverd is Meeting Place node is going away. Meetings will be held in Webex moving forward and MP should be used as an on prem audio bridge only. Some new WebEx solutions are on the roadmap.

  • Webex (cloud) integrated with Meeting Place 8.5 no audio record

Meeting Place 8.5 fully integrated with Webex.  Webex scheduling is used.  Meeting participants use Webex for the sharing of video and desktop.  Meeting participants call into the Meeting Place Server for audio.  Recording is turned on by the Host on Webex.   Recording is saved.  When recording is played back, cannot hear any audio from that I was assuming is recorded on the Meeting Place Server.  I need guidance on how to get audio recording of meeting using Meeting Place as the audio conference bridge.  Host user is setup on Webex to use Meeting Place server.  As far as I can tell users are set up correctly.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

    Hi Thomas,
Is this a new deployment or a production environment?
What exact version for MeetingPlace 8.5 do you have?
Was recording working before and just stopped, or it never worked?
Can you attach the screen shot of "MeetingPlace Administration Center > Cisco WebEx Configuration > Cisco WebEx Site Configuration"?
Can you attach the screen shot of your "WebEx Site Administration > Manage Site > Site Settings > View Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Integration Settings page" page?
    How recording works:
When you start a meeting in WebEx, and participants join audio on MeetingPlace, and you click Record button, WebEx dials in to MeetingPlace using the  "NBR Dial-out Number" configured in "WebEx Site Administration > Manage Site > Site Settings > View Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Integration Settings page" and joins the meeting with recording user credentials automatically generated by the system and initiates recording of the audio portion of the meeting. Audio and web recording are afterwards mixed in the cloud and available for playback.
    Issues seen with recording:
    1. "NBR Dial-out Number" is wrong (wrong Access number is provided when Cisco WebEx Site Configuration was configured).
    2. DTMF digits weren't passed properly to MeetingPlace when WebEx dialed in to MeetingPlace to join the meeting and start the recording. However, in those case you would probably hear MeetingPlace prompts in the recording and not silence.
    3. Recording wasn't triggered properly in WebEx and needs investigation (investigation with WebEx support)
    4. Recording couldn't be started on MeetingPlace and needs investigation (logs, TAC case, etc.)
I hope this information is helpful for the start.

  • Meeting Place 8.0 + Webex Node?

    Hello to all,
We have purchased two IBM 7835 servers with the intention of building on as meeting place 8.0 (EMS) and one as a webex node,
The question I have is about the placement of the servers.
I have read the SRND and are still not sure where the webex node (collaboration) server is to be placed, the docs say this should typically be on the
    inside network closest to participants
Also where is the best placement for the MP 8.0 server DMZ or Inside the nework,
I guess the  collaborative model we are looking at is the
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace with Cisco WebEx Node for Cisco MCS
Any help or docs would be well appreciated.
    Thanks
    Rich

    Hi all,
I encounter the same constraint, so I want to ask you :
We've deployed a Meeting place8.0.0.393 in LAN. Then a Webex Node for MCS will be added.
The concern is that Meeting place is deployed in that LAN, then the WebexNode will be installed there also (on premise).
Thus the DNS that will be used is like "myenterprise.local". ( mpapps1.myenterprise.local and  wbxNode1.myenterprise.local)
Its not like .com or .org or any domain reachable from Intenet. the .local is not reachable from Internet.
So my question is : is it possible to use this domain.local in the place of the place of the FQDN of the webex node and Application Node fields?

  • Meeting Place 8.0 - Mute and Unmute Particular Participant

    Hi,
I have setup of Meeting place 8.0 Application Server (Express Media Server) and Web Server 8.0
Problem is when Meeting Chairperson (host), who schedules a meeting, can't Mute/ unmute other attendees (Particular Ones) in same meeting (Act as a moderator).
Now, If we provide Attendant privilege to the host, we gets those rights to Mute and Unmute of that meeting As well As all the other meetings running(which is an problem).
Can we have a meeting Chairperson with Mute/ Unmute access (Particular Ones) for only meeting which has been hosted by him.
Please provide some valuable inputs on the same.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ashish Bagla

    Hi Ashish,
If you have MeetingPlace Audio only solution, from telephone user interface there is no possible way to mute individual participants. You, as a host, can mute only all participants, and then individual participants can unmute themselves if they want to say something.
The only other alternative is to use Conference Manager. However, to be able to use this tool, the user/host has to be either Attendant or System Administrator type of user.
More about Conference Manager you can find here:
    1. How to install Conference Manager:
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Cisco_Unified_MeetingPlace_Release_8.0_--_Installing_MeetingPlace_Conference_Manager
    2. How to use Conference Manager:
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Cisco_Unified_MeetingPlace_Release_8.0_--_Using_MeetingPlace_Conference_Manager
    I hope this will help.

  • Meeting Place 8.0 + Webex Scheduling

We are using MP 8 with WebexNode for mcs, when opening a meeting, we always have to check the box  'allow external participants' otherwise we are disconnected from the meeting.
Can anyone suggest what setting may be causing this please.
    Cheers
    Rich

    Rich,
This is not normal behavior.  I am not sure what is causing this problem so need to understand a little more about your environment.
I assume you have a WebEx Node for internal meetings and the internal meetings work OK? Now with the above mentioned check box checked all meetings default to the being external in the cloud though you can still schedule internal meetings.
Does your WebEx support SSO and integrated with MP for security and profile maintenance?
Are you on the network when you try to join these meetings?
Can you sign-in as the host?
If you have the WebEx Node you have internal licenses?
    Sorry for all the questions.

  • WebEx Meeting Server 1.5 - Call drop after entering meeting number and #

    Hi everyone,
Just installed a new CWMS server version 1.5... all features seem to work EXCEPT when I use the call in function, I type in the meeting number, hit # and the call is terminated.
    I read through this document:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/collaboration/CWMS/b_troubleshootingGuide/b_troubleshootingGuide_chapter_01000.pdf
    From the document:
    Call-In Issues
    • Problem Users hear a reorder tone before or after the complete number is dialed.
    • Problem The "Your call cannot be completed as dialed" message is played by the annunciator.
    • Problem During call-back, a user's call terminates after pressing 1 to join the meeting.
    • Problem During call-in, a user's call terminates after entering the meeting ID followed by #.
Possible Cause You need to reconfigure your CUCM servers.
Solution Reconfigure your CUCM settings as follows: Use the "<NONE>" partition and "<NONE>" CSS
(Calling Search Space) for all Cisco WebEx Meetings Server related entities in CUCM (for example, route
patterns, SIP route patterns, SIP trunks, etc.).
Solution Use one partition and one CSS specifically assigned for all Cisco WebEx Meetings Server related
entities. For more information refer to the system guide for your CUCM version.
I configured my route pattern to use <NONE> and all other option as <NONE> and still the call is terminated.
I created a css_webex CSS and put in pt_internal and assigned that and I still get terminated.
    Am I missing something here?

Personally, I never really use the null partition but before we go there.  You have a couple different route patterns.  The first is an inbound call pattern(s) that are going to be standard route patterns (i.e. numeric) and you'll have some outbound PSTN patterns for the actual outdialing that CWMS does.  You then have some SIP route patterns that can either be defined as IP or FQDN for each media server.  After you connect and then want to join a meeting, those SIP route patterns are used to redirect you to the appropriate server where a meeting is hosted.  For those patterns, are you using IP or FQDN and what partition are they in?  If you are using FQDN then you may need to change to IP depending on your DNS configuration on CUCM.

  • Meeting place external calls

    Hi,
We have configured meeting place with webex-node.
When internal users join the meeting we can hear eachother.
When an external user calls the ISDN number he hears all the messages from meeting place, he gives the meeting ID and after that he should hear the waiting room music, or be joined in an existing meeting, but he hears nothing.
When a meeting of some internal users is place, we can hear that meeting place anounces that user XYZ joins the meeting. XYZ being the name that external user has given. But external user can not hear anything, and internal users can not hear external user. When external user hangs up, meeting place says that user XYZ has left the meeting.
It seems that the stream of exteranl user is not mixed with the internal users.
    any idea?
    thanks,
    JH

Something goes wrong between Meeting place/Callmanager/Voice gateway
Voice gateway uses H323 to Callmanager
    Meetingplace uses SIP to Callmanager
Solved problem by creating a SIP dial-peer on voice gateway pointing to MP
