These crashes were related to memory management (probably caused by a driver).
Please run these tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.
If you are overclocking (pushing the components beyond their design) you should revert to default at least until the crashing is solved. If you don't
know what it is you probably are not overclocking.
1-Memtest. (You can read more about running memtest here)

  • Attempting to insert a schema-invalid doc gives 'memory manager' error

    Hi
I can successfully insert schema-valid XML documents into my BDB XML database by adding the appropriate xsi:schemaLocation elements to the document root element. However, when I intentionally remove a mandatory element from the document in order to make it invalid, for testing purposes, I receive (actually, trap) the following error message:
    "Exception code 0."
"Error: nsToUTF8: no memory manager File: NsUtil.cpp Line: 159"
whereas I would expect to see a message relating to validation errors. Looking at the source file NsUtil.cpp I can see that the code is trying to use a memory manager to deallocate some memory. I don't know how this relates to document validation and I'm not about to go fiddling with this particular piece of code!
So, has anyone else encountered a similar problem, or at least have an idea as to what's going on here?
We're using BDB XML 2.3.10 on Linux. And we're accessing BDB using the python interface. My code looks like this (with some bits removed for clarity):
    stream = mgr.createLocalFileInputStream(filename)
    doc.setContentAsXmlInputStream(stream)
    docValue = XmlValue(doc)
    cntnr.putDocument(txn, doc, uc, 0)
    Thanks in advance,
    Phil

Try this patch. It'll probably be official soon:

  • BSOD - memory management error

    Hi,
So, I've got my other laptop, Compaq Presario CQ61. For like 5 or 6 month I've had a great deal of problems with it, like freezes, BSOD-s and not to mention that troubleshooter was down. I've transfered all personal files on external HDD and decided to reinstall Windows ( 7 ultimate - legal copy), hoping that the problem will be solved, but to no avail. Eventually, I installed Windows 8 Pro because as people in forums said, it may be a problem with installation disk. For like 4-5 days my HP laptop was running just well, all updates installed (haven't seen that lately), i just thought it was a miracle and my problem is solved. Today it appeared. BSOD. After reinstalling/installing both versions of Windows i got, it is my firm belief that this is a hardware problem. I tried memory management test and the result was something like "problems were found, contact your manufacturer". So my question is, is this a RAM problem or HDD? I've heard both versions, and if anyone had in the past the same symptoms as my laptop does and he managed to deal with it, please enlighten me as well. Thanks in advance.
    This question was solved.

    Hi @Calin1 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Compaq Presario CQ61 and working fine then getting the BSOD and shutting down. I recommend to restore the BIOS defaults if you can get it to go to the screen. You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings. Not rollback. Restore BIOS defaults are needed as I feel that this will resolve the BSOD.
Here is a link to resolving BSOD if the BIOS restore does not help.
If that does not help at the end of the document it shows you to do a hardware test.
The hardware test will show if any parts are failing or have issues.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • BB Desktop Manager error 1316 (windows 7) - cannot be uninstalled

    Hi,
I am new to the forum, because I cannot seem to find an answer to my query anywhere.
I have a fairly new Dell laptop which has Windows 7 installed.
When I first got it, I installed BBDM on it and did a couple of back ups (so it did work at some point).
However, it now doesn't recognise my BB (Curve 8900) anymore and so I wanted to uninstall it.
In the control panel - uninstall porgramms - it didn't show up as a software, so before uninstalling the previous version, I thought, I'd over install the software again, a newer version (5.0.1) in an attempt to fix the sudden problem.
It may be worth mentioning that the PC doesn't recognise the devise either anymore, when plugging it in.
Having now installed version 5.0.1 didn't fix the problem and so I thought, okay, uninstall the whole thing and whilst this version IS now to be found in the control panel, when I start the uninstall it shows up error message 1316: A network error occured while attempting to read from the file C:\windows\installerblackberry desktop software.msi
    The un-installation is then aborted.
On the BB support site it is recommended to uninstall the software (haha) and if necessary use the windows installer cleanup utility, however, at the link given, this cannot be found and when searching google it appears that that software has been pulled from the market and didn't work with windows 7 anyways.
So now I have probably two versions installed, neither of which works or can be uninstalled.
    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help!
(Otherwise I might be going crazy)
    Thanks,
    J

Can you try to remove the software by following the clean uninstallation steps listed here
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02206
I never tried using the tool on Windows 7, but you can find it here if you still want to try it

We do need the actual DMP file as they contain the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.
We prefer at least 2 DMP files to spot trends and confirm the cause.

  • Fatal Internal Error: "Memory Manager.cpp", line 547

    Hello,
I am using LV 2009 and I am also getting an error as follows:
    =======================================================
Fatal Internal Error: "Memory Manager.cpp", line 547
    LabVIEW version 9.0.1
You will lose any unsaved work. For assistance in resolving this problem, please relaunch LabVIEW, or contact National Instruments.
    =======================================================
I get this error when I start executing steps on TS 4.2.1 as well as when I do "Unload All Modules" in TS. Please find the attched logs. Further, I could not run anything in TS and need to restart the PC to re-run the sequence after everytime this error occurs.
We have transited through LV 8.0, 8.2, 8.5 and now 2009 over past 4 years for our project and this is the first time I could see this error.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Adding on to Pritam's post:
For the earlier "Fatal Internal Error: "Memory Manager.cpp", line 547" , we found that a couple of our dll's which were developed in LV 8.5.1 had not been recompiled in LV2009. After recompiling each of them in LV2009, and then running the same sequences in TestStand, this error vanished.
But now again we're seeing this error, and that too only on  3 PCs systems out of 5 PCs!
The same installer has been installed on all 5 sytems (after removing the earlier installers and running MSI Blast.exe them).
The error now appears again, only when we try to exit TestExec.exe and another tool built in LabVIEW.
So everything works fine and tasks are performed, etc, but when we close the window or try the exit that program, the "Fatal Internal Error: "Memory Manager.cpp", line 547" pops up.
If we say "OK" to it, the window closes, but the Task is seen still running in the Task Manager and has to be manually terminated (End Task).
Does anyone know what could be going wrong?

Here is a screen shot for reference.......
If anyone should obtain the MS Fix or hear of it, please post so that others who are experiencing this issue can find peace in their day.
I have given up, ended up performing a reinstall. ( sadly)

    Hi RF,
Based on your description, would you please refer to following operations and troubleshoot this issue?
    Please use
Sytem File Checker tool to scan all protected system files.
    Please
perform a clean boot to check if some third-party services affected.
Please backup the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Ole. Then delete following two registry key (if exist): LeagcyImepersonationLevel and LegacyauthenticationLevel
Then log off and logon and monitor the result.
In addition, please navigate to %windir%\logs and check ServerManager and CBS log file if you can find some
    relevant errors.
If any update, please feel free to let me know.
    Hope this helps.

  • CD Boot: memory overflow error! Trying to install Bootcamp / Windows 7 on MacBook Pro 2009 with external superdrive

    Hi all,
I'm trying to install Bootcamp on my machine.
I was running Parallels before but need Bootcamp in order to run heavy software on the PC side (e.g. Rhino/Maxwell/etc).
I have a Macbook Pro 17" from around 2009, running Mountain Lion 10.7.3.
Problem is, my internal CD Drive is broken and doesn't read discs, so it couldn't read the Windows installation disc (Windows Home Premium 7 64 bit - OEM System Builder Pack).
So, I rang Apple to try to fix it and they said it would be cheaper and faster to buy an external SuperDrive.
I explained that I wanted it to install bootcamp and they said, fine.
However when I bought the SuperDrive, it turns out its only supposed to be working with new Macbook Pro with Retina display, and other machines that don't have internal cd drives.
At first it didnt work, but then I found a helpful website which enabled it to work on my machine.
So I went ahead and started installing Windows through the BootCamp Assistant.
It partitioned my hard drive - success!
But then it turned into black screen, with message saying "CDBOOT: Memory overfloor error"
    Help please!!!
I suspect the problem is either:
    a) Old Macbook Pro can't boot from the Windows disk
    or
    b) The Windows OEM version is somehow not designed to work with Mac. I bought it secondhand off a guy, thinking it was the full version, silly thing to do!
Your thoughts and help is seriously appreciated!
Tomorrow I'm going to the Apple Store and also to buy a brand new copy of Windows, I guess.

This has been resolved. It turned out that in spite of the message at the end of installation - "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer restart the installation" Windows was installed successfully but the problem was the Bootcamp drivers, it could not read them(install them) from my original OSX Istall DVD and I thought that that the whole package was not installed successfully. I will copy the intructions here as well since this thread may attract lots of other people with similar problem who may think it was not a good installation. Here you go:
Ok, after 3 sleepness nights I have found a solution and finally have a working Windows 7 Ultimate. I hope this will be helpful for everyone having similar issues and not have to go through the same nightmare.
Right away after logging in Windows for the first time insert the original Snow Leopard Install DVD and if Windows does not read it or install any drivers after clicking on setup.exe do the following:
Right-click on Start » Programs » Accessories » Command Prompt
    Select Run as Administrator
Type cd /d D:, then press Enter
Type cd Boot Camp\Drivers\Apple, then press Enter
    Type BootCamp64.msi, then press Enter
If you do not how to right click before installing the drivers the following:
    Click on Start
Enter cmd in the search box
Instead of hitting the Enter key use Ctrl + Shift + Enter and will open a dialog box
Click Yes at the prompt and you will be running as an administrator.
If you do not have the original install DVD go the this link and follow the instructions(including the ones from the last comment):

  • Boot Manager error message on Windows 7 Toshiba Laptop

Well, I will start with what happened to it, though I don't really know. I was on the internet and it started freezing up horribly, then I didn't know what to do so I walked into the room of the house that doesn't get wireless, and gradually it unfroze. Then I went back to the other room got on again, then it just froze again, only this time walking into the next room didn't work, so I pressed the power button and shut it down. Then when I turned it back on I chose "Start Windows Normally"  and I entered my password at the login screen, then it was on the screen that says "Welcome" and has the blue loading bar next to it, but I waited for at least 10 minutes and it still hadn't loaded. So, I try safe mode and all I get is a black screen with a mouse cursor, in all safe modes. Well, I decide to go to setup by pressing F2 at the Toshiba screen when you first turn it on. So, I did that and I restored the default settings, then exiting saving the settings, and then I turned it on, expecting it to work or at least have the Welcome thing. It went through the Toshiba screen, then it had a black screen for while , then I got an error message:
    WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER
Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.
This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or CD-ROM drive that is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer.
If you continue to recieve this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer.
    File: \Boot\BCD
    Status: 0xc00000e9
Info: An unexpected I/O error has occurred.
So then what I did was I plugged in the charger, the mouse ( like on a desktop computer, only I stick this in my laptops usb thing) , my ipod, I put in the last cd I had in the disk drive, and I connected my computer to the modem from the other computer that I sometimes get on.  It didn't do anything, it still gave me that message.
I would appreciate some help. I just got this computer in December 2009 for Christmas, and I have taken good care of it as far as I can tell. I really can't afford to replace anything right now, but if I have to I will find a way. What makes it worse is that I just got a new video game sent from my grandmother for my birthday....
    Thank you for your help/thoughts/crap

it looks like a corrupted windows 7 OS or hdd issue , but you might try this one
Remove all usb devices and make sure that only ac adapter is plugged in your computer.
Turn on your computer and start tapping on F8. You should see windows advanced option when you do this.
Select on Safe Mode then Enter. If you can boot to safe mode you can try doing a system restore.
    OR
On windows advance option. Select Repair my computer
Just follow the prompt and select system restore.
    OR
On windows advance option. Select Repair my computer
Just follow the prompt and Windows Startup Repair

  • B570 - Windows 8 - Blue screen crash & energy management error

I upgraded to windows 8 on the day it came out in the uk with no problems, some of my apps had to be reinstalled but nothing major.
the bluetooth app had to be uninstalled, never use it so not a major issue. the energy managment error just pops up on each start and i just click run without help. Seems to work fine, but would prefer for it not to have to ask me this.
Anyway everything looked to be okay and then i got the blue screen crash. Said something about a kernal crash. This has happened about every 2 days now since the install and is very annoying, just happens very randomly even when the laptop is really fast.
I spoke to lenovo's support team and they said new drivers will be installed automatically and it should resolve. It hasnt.
Was just wondering if there is any fix for this? any new drivers out that have to be installed, or bios settings anything?
    Please help. Thanks

  • NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Errors on Lenovo T500 2082-58M running Windows XP.

NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Errors are occurring on
five out of five Lenovo T500 laptops 2082-58M tested.
I can get the error to re-occur consistently by installing
IBM Director Client version 5.20 or 5.23, taking remote control and then within
the remote session I initiate a PC restart. This re-produces these errors
    without fail.
I've also received this same error without Director but am
unable to cause this to re-occur consistently.
    My Findings:
Changing the BIOS Settings from the default settings of :
    BIOS Config > Display
    Default Primary Video Device:[Internal]
    Boot Display Device:[ThinPad LCD]
    Graphics Device:[Discrete Graphics]
    OS Detection for Switchable Graphics:[Enabled]
To the following settings resolves the issue though this
causes the installed and previously working ATI driver not to detect the video
    device.
    BIOS Config > Display
    Default Primary Video Device:[Internal]
    Boot Display Device:[ThinPad LCD]
    Graphics Device:[Integrated Graphics]
    OS Detection for Switchable Graphics:[Disabled]
    What I have tried:
o Updated the BIOS and Drivers to Latest available
o Re-Installed the Display Driver, Downgraded the
    Display Driver
o Removed the Display Driver and left BIOS
    settings enabled (NMI errors re-occur)
To get to the above findings I tried removing /
re-installing pretty much every driver and disabling every option within the
BIOS. I am only listing what I believe is now relevant to the identified
problem. I can provide further information upon request.
     Anyone able to help ?

    Hello,
the switchable gfx doesn´t work in XP. In XP you have to choose gfx options in bios before booting os.
    Please try:
    Default Primary Video Device:[Internal]
    Boot Display Device:[ThinPad LCD]
    Graphics Device:[discrete Graphics]
    OS Detection for Switchable Graphics:[Disabled]

  • Itunes will not launch, no error message (windows xp, itunes 10.7.0.21)

Itunes will not launch, no error message (windows xp, itunes 10.7.0.21)
    Yeah

OK, so i cannot enter into iTunes safe mode, whilst monitoring proccesses in the task manager I noticed that itunes will only stay open if i keep my fingers on shift and control-i dont know if that is worth mentioning- the proccess promptly ends after the release of the said keys, (I tried both the shift control keys on either side of the keyboard-same result) so i am stuck there.
    P.S.
This version of iTunes had previously worked before, I uninstalled everything apple related after noticing how many processes (-id est-) /applications, were using up my memory.
afterwards I had need for iTunes, (i needed to wipe my iDevice) I reinstalled and this problem has arisen.
