Message from loaded movie
I have loaded a movie (test.swf) into movieClip:
var ldr:Loader = new Loader();
ldr.load(new URLRequest("test.swf"));
addChild(ldr);
The code above is in the movieClip.
Now I would like to "send" a message from the loaded movie to
the main timeline of loading movie. I have a dynamic text field in
the main timeline named messageText. I have tried command
root.messageText.text = "something" but this doesn't work. What
should I do?

working with this:

Controlling main timeline from loaded movie
I have loaded an external movie onto the main movie in a
movie clip called "mainholder" - In the main timeline on the main
movie there is a "stop" command on frame 1. From the loaded movie,
I want to control the main timeline and tell it to go to frame 2.
Can someone tell me the actionscripting to do this, I have tried
several commands and getting frustrated. ;-)
Thanksmovies are loaded into levels. The main movie is always
considered level0 a.k.a _root in the AS. When you load a movie into
another, the main movie is also considered the parent of that
loaded movie a.k.a. this._parent in AS where this refers to the
loaded movie. If you want something in the loaded movie to control
the main timeline you could call it like this...
_root.gotoAndStop(2); or _root.gotoAndPlay(2); depending on
what you want.
but because of the parent/child relationship, it can also be
done like this....
this._parent.gotoAndStop(2); or this._parent.gotoAndPlay(2)
Although the first method is less to remember, the second
method proves the most friendly and re-usable. Let me explain...
Say that you did something like this....
[MAIN MOVIE]
[LOADED MOVIE]
{Loaded Movie with buttons to control LOADED MOVIE}
Your main movie loads a movie and when this loaded movie
reaches it's 10th frame, it loads another movie where the buttons
reside for controlling that clip. If you used _root in the button
movie, it would cause the main movie (_root) to be called and not
the LOADED MOVIE as you had intended during its design prior to
trying to make this new main movie (and it would work as intended
if you opened the LOADED MOVIE's fla file and exported). If you use
this._parent in the button movie, it will always make it's calls to
the LOADED MOVIE's timeline and not the main clips timeline.
Sorry if this confuses you but it's important to
understand. -
Close popup window from loaded movie
I have an html link which launches a flash movie into a
separate html window. The flash movie then loads another movie into
level 10. from this level, I am trying to close the flash movie and
its associated html page using the code:-
javascript:window.close();
This doesn't work. It closes level 10, but leaves level 0 and
the html page intact. How can I resolve it?
Any help would be very much appreciated.I have carried out a simple test using the above code to
close a single swf with no loaded movies. This works. However, when
I try to load a movie into a higher level and close the whole movie
together with its html page from there, it doesn't work.

Prevent mail message from loading on iPad?
How do I keep a message in mail on the iPad from not loading the message, I only want to see who it's from and the subject? I have gotten some spam mail lately and I feel like once it is downloaded even to delete it - it gets downloded anyway.
Also, why can't I mark something junk in mail on the iPad or put it in the junk folder?
Tx.You can't just load the subject.
Mobile email client does not have a junk button to flag an email as such. -

Hi!
I have a swf file which I call "Stage" and it contains 3
scenes.
In scene 1 of Stage, I have another swf- "Info1." loaded on
level 10. I know
how to get Info1 to unload and load Info2 but what I am
trying to accomplish
is when I click on Info1, it loads Info2 and it also go to
Scene 2 of Stage.
Is there anyway I can do this?

calling the function as a method of a movie clip. I was simply
calling checkTarget(event) rather than
event.currentTarget.checkTarget(event); which seems to work. -
I am trying to access a message from early 2012. When I load previous messages It will only go back to oct 2012 and then the program stops and kicks my to the home page. Anyone know how I can get to the message? Thanks.

Hi Allan, thanks for that. I've already set up a log in for my wife and that is all working fine. The problem is that when she logs in and opens iTunes and trys to associate her library with her iTunes account she gets the error message "This computer is already associated with another iTunes account". Whilst this is true, the computer is associated with my iTunes account under my separate log in, which should have nothing to do with hers. If she transfers the association to her account it will lock me out of my content on my log in for 90 days - I'm trying to work out how to associate each of the log in accounts with a separate iTunes account so we can access our music independently of one another without locking each other out. Hope that makes sense!

Failure to move messages from one account to another
I have recently started having problems when trying to move messages from one account to another. I get a message that says: The IMAP command "APPEND" (to INBOX) failed with server error: message contains NUL characters.
I have tried shutting down and restarting, repaired permissions. Not sure what to do next. Any help?Ernie,
One is POP thru Cox Comm and the other is mobile me (the old .mac accts). Why would all of a sudden there be an issue when I several times during the day have been able to move messages from Cox to mobile me? -
Move mail messages from one Acount to another...

I have several mail accounts on my iPhone (iOS 4.3.5) one Exchange ActiveSync and 2 GMail Accounts. I am able to Move mails from the ActiveSync Account to any of the Gmail Accounts, I can move messages in between the two GMail Accounts, but it is not possible to move messages from one of the GMail accounts to the Exchange ActiveSync Account. It fails with the message: "Unable to Move Message - The message could not be moved to the mailbox Inbox.". Is this a known limitation? I can reproduce this with different devices and different people from my company. It is always the same behavior.

How can I move my old messages from my PC to my new Macbook (not the profile, just the messages)?
I have used Thunderbird for years as I am a business owner who needs to keep a copy of old emails. I have just changed from a PC to a Macbook pro, and want to move all my old archived messages from the past 2 or 3 years to my Mac, including non-archived messages (Sent & Trash) from this year. I have already created my profile in the new Mac, and have been using it for the past couple of weeks. (By the way, this is a POP mail profile.) Now I just want to move the old messages over. Which exact files do I copy and paste, and into which folders? If the folders do not yet exist, I guess I need to create them first. But where on the Mac? I have found (on my old PC) the "Appdata/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles/*.default/Mail/username/ directory with Archives and Trash subdirectories. But each directory seems to have a name (like "Inbox", or "Sent" or "2013") and another file with the same name, but an ".msf" suffix (like "Inbox.msf" or "Sent.msf" or "2013.msf"). Thanks in advance to any who can help.
The file structure is a little complex. I will use inbox as an example.
Inbox (a large file with no file extension)
Inbox.msf ( An index of inbox with tags etc. Can be deleted with only loss of tags)
Inbox.sdb (a folder, indicating that the folder within Thunderbird has a sub folder.
POP mail is stored in
Appdata/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles/*.default/Mail/[Server name]/
Local folder is stored in
Appdata/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles/*.default/Mail/Local Folders/
As long as you do not overwrite, you can copy and paste whole folder trees into local folders (stuff on your old computer under a mail account is best relocated to local folder and then sorted as necessary afterwards.
Note that you should delete foldertree.json after making those sorts of copies (it forces a full refresh of the folder tree, no cache) and under no circumstances copy data with Thunderbird running. It can irrevocably corrupt things -
Is there any tools for move messages from errorqueues in WLS 8.1.5?

I have created a JMSDestination (MyQueue) in my wls 8.1.5.
I have also created an other JMSDestination (MyErrorQueue) in my wls 8.1.5.
In the wls it is possible to specify an "Error Destination:" for a JMSDestination. In my wls I have specified MyErrorQueue as error destination for MyQueue.
If anything goes wrong during consuming message from MyQueue the message will be moved to the error destination MyErrorQueue.
If this situation ever occur, for eg. there is a cable connection loss or something. The error destination will save me alot of trouble.

But now I wonder if there is any tool or function i wls 8.1.5 that helps me move the message back to MyQueue from the error destination, MyErrorQueue, when the problem is solved.? For eg, when the broken cable is replaced.
Or do I have to write such a application my self? Seems strange since the concept of error destination exists.

When I open itunes to play content I've already purchased and while attempting to view trailers for movies in the itunes store, I receive a generic error message from windows, and I'm directed to reinstall the latest version of itunes. Not a fix. Help?
after perusing other subjects with playback issues:
this is the fix:
-Launch Control Panel - Double click Quicktime, If you do not see quicktime, look on the top left side of control panel and switch to classic view. This will then allow you to see Quicktime.
-Now click the advanced tab and click on Safe Mode GDI Only, Apply, then ok. -

Mozilla what? as there is Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird and the ancient Mozilla 1.7.x suite along with other Mozilla products and projects.
