  • Early Watch Alerts Problem in Solution Manager

    Hello,
I am trying to configure EWA for my SAP R/3 systems in Solution Manager 3.2. RFC connections are working fine. EWA report that is getting generated is showing me following problem :
    <b>EarlyWatch Alert - R/3 System</b>**********
    <b>Download Problem</b>
We could not perform a correct analysis because essential parts of the download data are missing. The cause is probably a problem with data collection or transfer.
Recommendation: Please check the log for this session in the Service Data Control Center (execute transaction SDCC or the new SDCCN in your system). If an error entry is listed, perform the Service Preparation Check.
Implementation: To perform the Service Preparation Check, execute transaction SDCC and choose Information-> Service prep. check or if you use SDCCN create a new task 'Service Preparation Check'.
The result of Service Preparation check ( as recommended) is not throwing any error.
Can anyone help me out on this.
    Regards,
    Yashodhan

    Hello Yashodhan Mujumdar,
we have warnings about differences in the function interface, but all works, so we ignore them.
But the missing data interface seems to be the error.
    Did you read note 781680?
Do you have the newest ST-PI (2005_1_xxx SP3) and ST/A-PI (01G_xxx, this is an installation, no patch)? Do you have the right flavour of ST/A-PI?
    Are ST03N and ST06 working?
Do you refresh service definitions from sapnet? Did you generate (after service refresh) on the solution manager system the includes (SPRO -> SAP Solution Manager -> Basic settings -> SAP Solution Manager System -> Operations -> Setup Service Data Control Center -> Generate Includes....
If these checks are all ok you might deactivate SDCCN both in satellite system and solution manager (SMSY -> Goto -> Solution Manager Operations -> Administration SDCCN) and activate it again.
If this doesn't work you might use the big hammer:
    1) delete all the service definitions in satellite system like described in note 727998
    2) delete all entries in table /BDL/_GENER (satellite system)
    3) create in SolMan system a new session in order to collect and send data for this session in satellite system; if you don't see the session in the satellite system please execute there the "Maintenance Package"
    4) elaborate the data for this new session in SolMan system
If all this doesn't help, open a message in sapnet
    Bye

  • Question about Alert Framework in Solution Manager

    Hi all,
We are planning to use Solution Manager as Central Monitoring Server, so I want to know what the advantage to use Solution Manager is, especially in Alerting.
We can define auto-reaction methods for monitors to send CCMS alerts to Alert Framework where the alerts can be forwarded to the personal responsible via Email or CCMS.
Is there any difference when using Solution Manager? Which additional functions dose Solution Manager provide in alerting?
In normal SAP Alert Framework, you can only define one receipt for escalation. Can Solution Manager support multiple level escalation? For example, an alert is sent to A, if the Alert is not confirmed by A, then the alert is forwarded to B automatically. The same way the alert can be forwarded to further persons.
    Any idea?
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Hui

    Hi Hui,
On my opinion there is no any advantage in useíng SAP Solution Manager as central alerting systems in respect to RZ20. The arguments are as follows:
    - in SAP Solution Mnager you have performance restrictions on number of alerts to be displayed in one screen caused by the fact that the alerts are displayed in HTTP format
    - All the customizing in SAP Solution Manager for System Monitoring is Solution specific and not transportable. It means that if you have got corrupted your system monitoring session (that happens not seldom) your settings are lost. If you have created another Solution for the same systems you have to perform customizing from the scratch
    - Customizing is also not very esay to do. I would do recommend to use "User defined Alerts" Please have a look at the SAP Note 1023959 fro this topc
    - SAP Solution Manager does not provide alerting mechanism -> you have to relay to ALM in any case. Here by the way to your second question I would say that it is possible implement exactly process you have described. In the ALM category you can use button escallation to define another person that would be informed via e-mail in case the first Recipient have not completed alert from this category within predefined time
+ The only feature that is unique with System Monitoring with SAP Solution Mnager is the possibility to change threshold values for all the MTEs / MTE Classes that are defined in User Define Alerts an one button click
At the conclussion I would say that there are some custommers that are using SM as monitoring platform But more pragmatical would be to configure RZ20 with help of Rule-based alerts and self- defined system groups and use ALM as alerting infrastructure. In this case you can save in plain XML file your Alert configuration and export it in any other system. ALM has on my opinion enogh functionality for alerting

  • Configuring the Alert monitoring of Solution Manager 4.0

    Dear all,
How can I notify from the central monitoring system when alerts happened?
I have already create and assign auto-reaction method to specific monitor attribute with alerts, but nothing happend. I even looked at the table CSMCENTOOL where the alert data suppose to stored, and the table is still empty.
I will be greatfull if anyone can provide me appropriate document in this matter, or guide me with a list of things that need to be done.
    Kind regards,
       Yagel

    Hi Kai,
    Thanks for your quick response.
I have already create and assign the central auto-reaction method exactly as in the example,
and when I try to start the auto-reaction method I receive the alert information "Cannot determine data for method DUMMY_TOLL_FOR_DOUBLEHOP".
I have overcome this alert information by changing the excute method of the <i>defined central auto-reaction</i> from <i>Only in central system, trigged by CCMS agents</i> to <i>Periodically in process(Short running program)</i>, and still, nothing notify when alert happened.
Should I configure the "Related Solution Manager configuration guides on SDN" which describe in the bottom blug as well?
I also didn't understand you when you say to send from SAP-System to another account?
    Thanks in advance,
    yagel.

  • EWA: error message in CRM check for SAP Solution Manager system

    Hello!
In EWA report for SAP Solution Manager system I have seen error message: Many CSA* inbound queues in error status were detected in your system. As a result of this BDocs have not been delivered. And then table
Queue Name                                Status     Date of first entry             Entries

    CSA_ORDER_8000000001      READY     22.11.2007     3
    and others.
I looked transaction smq2. There are 11300 queues in it. Is it actual error or it is a normal situation? And that must I do, to remove an error?
Edited by: Mariya Kurbatova on Jul 2, 2009 6:27 AM

    Hi,
Usually problems with hanaging CSA* queues are caused because too many
indiviaual queues are created for the qRFC resources to handle. You can
limit the number of queues as described in note 763680.
Note 763680 would be useful if all of your qRFC resourcesa are in use
when you have a great number of queues. With a large number of dialog
WPs on the system it would probably make sense to reduce the amount
    as described in the note.
the casue when you have this problem would be to check SMQR -> GOTO ->
qRFC resources. You can also see if most of your dailog WPs are in use
    in SM50.
    Also refer to note 758677.
Please schedule report RSQIWKEX (Inbound) to run as described in the
    note.
And since your title has mentioned that the EWA is on your CRM satellite system; this maybe a further good reference too
When you replicate lots of data from CRM to R/3, there could be a qRFC
resource problem. In this case, the numebr of queues created can be
reduced by implementing the attached note 356228, particularly solution
    2.
    For CSA* queues is slightly different from the one decribed in note;
this is because the CSA queues exchange data within the CRM system.
The steps described should be followed, except that table SMOFQFIND
must be used instead of CRMQNAMES. In this table, fields TR_SNAEMS and
SEGM_FLD are equivalent to the CRMQNAMES fieds BAPISTRUCT and BAPIFLD
respectively. It should be possible to follow the solution 2 in the
note as long as you use SMOFQFIND instead of CRMQNAMES.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers,
    SH

  • Autom. replication of EarlyWatch Alerts in 2nd Solution Manager possible?

    Hi experts,
I just received a question from a customer whether it is possible to automatic replicate EarlyWatch Alerts generated for systems in SolMan A to SolMan B without having all satellite systems connected to SolMan B.
There are two reports available I know: BDL_GET_SESSION_DATA and BDL_GET_DATA_AND_CREATE_SESSIO
At least via the last report it is possible to read the session number in SolMan A and create a new session with this data in SolMan B. But it is not possible to assign the sessions to a solution or run it as daily job...
Do you know if there is such a functionality in SAP standard or do we need to build our own solution here?
    Regards, Richard

    Hello,
This is how you genrate an EWA for on Satellite system in two Solution Manager systems.
One will be created automatically via the Maintenance Package (providing you followed best practices) or periodic EarlyWatch of Solution Manager Task if you are not follwoing best practices.
Say we have Solution Manager A & B. In SDCCN in RFC Destinations, we define Solution Manager A as the Master.
So this will be where the EWA task created by the Maintenace Package task will be sent.
For the Solution Manager B you created a Earlywatch periodci task, only you make the RFC Destination the SM<SID>CLNT<NO#>_BACK (where the SID is the SID of Solman B) Yoy can refer to SAP NOTE 207223, which is the Note that explains how to send an EWA to SAP. Its the exactsame process, but the destination is changed to the second Solution Manager.
The data comes from the Satellite/managed system, but can be directed to different destinations.
But you can't send the data from Solution Manager A to Solution Manager B.
You can send the data to Solution Manager A & B and process the data on A and on B, or any other Solman system.

    Paul

  • Support Message Status should default to Incident in Solution Manager

    Hi Friends
    Need your Help!!
I need to change the Priority settings set for the support message in Solution Manager , If a user logs a support message in the ECC system (production) with any priority (low, medium, high, very high etc.) it should default to Incident in Solution manager.
From there the client wants to classify the Priority as per his requirement in Solution Manager.
The current settings are like below
For a Low Priority it is defaulting to Incident
For a Medium Priority it is defaulting to 1: Bug P1-2
For a High priority it is defaulting to 2: Bug P3-4
For a Very High Priority it is defaulting to 3: Bug P5-10
Really appreciate your help, many thanks.
    Kind Regards,
    Vattikonda.

    Hi
    thank you for response.
It is the clients requirement to default the priority status to Incident if a support message is created from a managed system (ECC).
    for e.g,
An user creates a support message in ECC production client giving the relevant input and he selects the priority as High, this created message should default to Incident in solution manager.
please see how the current settings are from my earlier  at the bottom..
    Kind Regards,
    Sandeep.

  • Doubt on viewing service message reply from solution manager???

    Hi,
How to view the reply(for Service Message) from solution manager in our satillite system? or how to view the reply for our service message? Please share your ideas..

    Hello Sriram,
Unfortunately it is not possible to display the replies of the support
desk in any satellite system. There are to ways to inform the creator
    the message:
A new action can be defined, so that a mail is sent to the creator, when
e.g. the status of the message changes. You can read in attached note
no. 691303 how to set up an action triggered by status change.
The second possibility is to set up a user in the Solution Manager
system with display authorization, then creator of the message must log
on to the Solution Manager system and can then have his messages
    displayed.
At the moment there are no other possibilities for the issue described
    by you.
    Hope this helps,

  • Solution Manager in EP

    Dear Experts,
I am facing 2 issues in relevant for solman in EP.
    1) I have created Portal standard Component for (com.sap.portal.epsolman)(solution Manger) create support message from EP.
I have mentioned all connection properties. when I click on the submit button with short text and description the message was posted to  solution manager system without any error. Where as when am try to post the message with attchment, system is throwing the error message
"Message was not created on SAP Solution Manager. Return code from RFCfunction call: 0"
    2) I want to know is there any option where i can my solman ticket status in EP.?
    Regards
    Ashwini

    Hello,
Could you please check whether there is a problem to create messages with attachments also from the Solution Manager itself, with the SAPGUI?
As for what you mention to view the message status, I guess that the only way is to have an URL point to a BSP or the issue management Work Center from the Solution Manager itself, and configure it so that the user can look at his own messages and see when they require his action. There is no specific EP iview that I can give you for users to follow their Service Desk support messages. I have seen the Solution Manager Work Centers or BSPs integrated in a portal, but not a special iview.

  • How to Configure Solution Manager for 1.Download SuppPacks 2. Monitoring 3

We recently upgraded to ECC 6.0 and installed Solution Man., very vanilla.  Basically just to get the Key to do the upgrade with.
I would really appreciate it if someone could share any documentation that would provide guidance on how to now further configure SolMan for the following
    1.  Monitor our Landscape which comprises of ABAP ECC (java is installed though not actively using), and SAP BI 7.0
Sandbox, Dev, QAS and Prdn  for BOTH ECC & BI
    2. Download Support Patches from SAP Marketplace (currently we have had to donwload the long way with download manager creating a message to get them apporoved whew... this is work..)
    3. Add messages to SAP Market Place (thru SolMan)
4 Possibly monitor security and manage userids etc (if possible)
And if there is functionality that will make the BASIS experience better I would definitely appreciate it.  We don't need the help desk as we already have it ,but, we may take advantage of Project documentation
I would really really appreciate it if someone could advise
    Kind Regards & Thank You
    Maria

    Hi Maria,
With solution manager you can definitely do a world of things, below is a list inclusive of the features you wanted:
    1. Dowload SP-Stacks, etc - you will have to configure Maintenance Optimizer for this (MOPZ).
    2. Monitoring - you can monitor your ABAP and JAVA stacks using the monitoring features of CCMS which is embedded in Solution Manager, please have a look at the monitoring setup guide (for NW04S) in the Service Marketplace. Basically, it uses agents such as SAPCCMSR for JAVA Stacks and SAPCCM4X for ABAP stacks.
    3. You can also configure availability monitoring using th same guide as above - this uses the CCMSPING tool.
    4. You can monitor your business processes using the BPM/BPMon features of solution manager - you will also get this guide in http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager.
    5. You can scheule your earlywatch alerts (EWAs) in solution manager system - have a look at the following link for this:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e0f35bf3-14a3-2910-abb8-89a7a294cedb
    6. You can also have DBACOCKPIT on your Solution Manager system and have it tomonitor backups, etc on your satellite systems. For thsi have a look at SAP notes 1028624, 1025707 and 1027146 (and the DBACOKPIT guide in SAP Note 1028624).
Hope this is helpful. Kindly award points if useful.
    Thanks, Dibya

  • Solution manager system log - strange entries

    Hi Everyone,
the problem we are facing in Solution Manager system log every five minutes appears a new error message:
2 Database error -30082 at CON

    0 > ("USERNAME AND/OR PASSWORD INVALID"). SQLSTATE=08001
First of all the landscape: ECC, BI, CRM, PI and Solman. Each system is DEV, QUA, PRD - except Solution Manager.
Result of going to see the logs within work directory:
    Connect to %_DCR_XXXXX as db2dcr with DB6_DB_NAME=DCR;DB6_DB_HOST=xxxxxx;DB6_DB_SCHEMA=SAPSR3;DB6_DB_SVCENAME=5912

Some of the systems are being connected successfully and the error messages in SM21 are not related to those systems. But some of the systems like DCR cannot be reached. And this fact causing the error messages.
I haven't configured Solution Manager because I have joined the project later. I would like to know what job is trying to access the satellite system and for what purpose.
On solution manager side I have checked all the scheduled background jobs - all of them have been executed successfully.
There some of them are scheduled but it is hard understand what is purpose of the job.
I have checked and corrected system landscape through SMSY and have maintained all the RFCs. They all OK now.
What else could force to make a connection to satellite system? And where is the place where it is hardcoded local(satellite) db2 connection entry?
Like I said before, some of the systems are being connected but some not. The one which has not been connected - there was recently changed SAP master password. I believe this is the key to resolve the problem. But the system itself operating 100% correctly.
Perhaps it could be CCMS that makes some extra connections to collect the data from the monitored systems. But I have checked all the RFC's in SM59 and they were OK.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kind regards,
    Artjom.

    Kaustubh Krishna,
    thank you for respond.
It was dbacockpit. The connection was maintained with old db2sid password. And it was causing problematic log entries.
    Problem was solved.
    Points awarded.
    Thanks,
    kind regards,

  • Solution Manager Workflow problem

    Hi,
I am triggerring a workflow for support message creation in transaction crmd_bus2000116 in solution manager. It been assigned to a particular agents by using a customized workflow . I am facing two problems...
    1. The person to whom I am assigning the workitem, if he simply displays it , then workitem is getting deleted. But I need to be there for particular period of time and then if he is not changed it then only it should get deleted from his SAP Inbox.
    2. If he changes means I should trigger an another event , which will call the same workflow in the next event, In this case how can I check the event getting called .....currently I am using an status flag to do so....
    Cheers,
    Sabari.

    Sabari,
    1. You should use an asynchronous task with the Changed event as the terminating event to create the WI. The WI will then stay in the inbox until the changed event is triggered. You will have to use modeled deadlines in order to remove the WI or end the workflow after a specified time. You can look in the online documentation for more information on terminating events and modeled deadlines.
    2) There is no need to check for the changed event. You can have the next step follow after the first step ends with the terminating event.
    Cheers,
    Ramki.

My problem is that when I first access to anonymous URL(3), and after, I return to html file, to access other URLs(1 or 2), these URLs don’t appear logon pop-up to authenticate.
Does anyone know about this ?

    Hi Raul,
The problem is : when you access link 3 , you are authenticated with user : ES02532022k and password=endesa, an one time authenticated ,the  system not inquiry logon pop-up anymore.
My suggestion is NOT access link with login and pass...
