Thanks

There are many ways to achieve this. I would use java mapping to get the desired result. You have to loop the source and in the target pick every two nodes as separate.   Please follow this link for java mapping. This might provide some idea.

  • XI message mapping clarifications

    Dear All
    I would like to know if XI message mapping(graphical mapping) can be
    used for mapping based on the order of elements given in the XML source
    message.
    For example I have a source message as below
    Source XML:
    <Source>
    <givenname>Ramesh</givenname>
    <givenname>Kumar</givenname>
    <givenname>Ganapathy</givenname>
    </Source>
    semantic is first instance of <givenname> needs to be mapped <firstname> in target,
    Second occurance of <givenname> needs to be mapped <secondname>,
    Third occurance of <givenname> needs to be mapped <familyname>
    Target XML
    <Target>
    <firstname>Ramesh</firstname>
    <secondname>Kumar</secondname>
    <familyname>Ganapathy</familyname>
    </Target>
    As I understand graphical mapping editor works based on Xpath
    expressions, Is it possible to achieve such mapping schematics with
    graphical mapping and UDF in XI.
    Please note I cannot use Java, ABAP or XSLT mapping programme.
    Can you provide me some hints on how to do this.
    Thanks
    Satish

    Hi Chilla
    This is how I am currently handling it. But my problem is
    The number of UDF's keeps increasing if I have a fourth, fifth element to handle. I have to create new UDF for every new level added.
    Is there a way I can do this with single UDF.
    result.addValue(givenname(X));
    X- will be the position and I can pass values as an argument to the UDF.
    Again the problem here is when I have second argument to specify which value of input to pick up say for example  givenname(1) or givenname(2)
    The second argument expects an String[] array as argument and not string(when i assign a constant its a string).
    So I cannot attach a constant to the second argument and pass the input.
    Is there any functions that can return a String[] array as an output taking sting value as input.
    Thanks
    Satish

  • Message mapping hangs when selecting communication channel

    Hi Experts,
    I have a strange problem. In message mapping, there is an RFC Lookup. For this RFC lookup, there is one parameter of type communication channel. I want to test this message mapping. So, I go to the Test tab and browse for all available communication channels. When I select a channel and click on Select, ESR hangs. I am not getting why this is happening. Please help me get rid of this problem.

  • Message mapping problem / experts needed / UDF?

    Hello experts,
    I have the following problem in a message mapping:
    Source structure is as follows:
    - Node a (min 1, max 999)
      - Subnode b (min 0, max 999)
      - Each Subnode b has the element "number" (1,1)
    This structure must be mapped to the following target structure:
    - Node c (1,999)
       - Subnode d (0,999)
       - Each subnode d has the following elements:
           - e1
           - e2
           - e3
           - e11
    1 Source node a should create 1 target node c.
    All numbers in all subnodes b of one source node a should be mapped to the e1, e2,...e11 elements of the target structure. As one target node d can only contain up to eleven numbers, there must be several d nodes.
    I have already tried to create a UDF, but it does not work.
    Any experts who would like to share their knowledge?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello again,
    meanwhile I have worked hard on it and I have found the solution (just one UDF (queue function) which gets the article numbers as well as constant(targetField). So the UDF covers the creation of the "groups" as well as the mapping of the article numbers.
    It was really interesting and it made me ambitious to find the solution myself I do not have access to the system today, but I will post my solution as far as I have access again. Maybe you still want to search for a solution? It really may be fun, just like some kind of a puzzle game.
    In order to make it more clear, here comes the source and target structure with an example. Let me once more explain it: In the source, there are positions, each with unlimited article numbers. Each position will create a targetPosition. The node "targetPosition" has the subNode "articlenrs" (unbounded). Articlenrs has 11 differnet elements, calles a1, a2, a3, ..., a11. That means, all article numbers from a source postion should be mapped to "groups of 11 target article numbers". Please be aware the there are 11 differnet target fields for article numbers: a1, a2, ... a11.
    I think that' why the solution of  Liang Ji and Rohit Kalugade will not work...
    SOURCE
    <position>
         <articlenr> 123   </articlenr>

  • Using useOneAsMany function in Message Mapping if subtree is optional

    Hi,
    I am trying to develop a message mapping for the following case:
    In the source message, there is a value "Value1" which is on the same level as a subtree "Struct2" which can occur 0..unbound times
    In the target message the value "Value1" has to be part of that subtree, so it has to be copied for each occurence of "Struct2" in the source message
    For the case that the subtree has cardinality 1..n there are some examples on the web, e.g. useOneAsMany (SAP-Bibliothek - Partner Connectivity Kit). But that does not fit my case. The subtree in the source message is optional here.
    See a screenshot of the message mapping and my solution for the mapping of "Value1" below:
    All other values are mapped 1:1.
    Sadly, this solution does not work when "Struct2" has cardinality 0..unbound, for 1..unbound it works perfectly. Here is my example:
    When I try the mapping, I get the following error message:
    That is true. The first queue of the useOneAsMany function has more values than the second. But I don't know how I can fix it, so that it works for my example. Can anyone give me a hint please?
    Setup is AEX 7.31.

    Hi Stefan,
    You can use this mapping.
    And for Struct2-Value1
    Result:
    Hope this helps,

  • Set a variable in Adapter Module and read it during message mapping

    Hi guys,
    is there any way, how I could set some variable and store its value during the adapter module processing and read back this value in message mapping and use it? Without using a database or files.. I mean, some j2ee storage or something like that..
    Thanks for your help,
    Olian

    Hi guys,
    thanks for your answers..  just a clarification, what the problem is.
    I need to validate a message in the adapter module, if it's digital signature is valid. If it is, I need to send back to the sender a return code (message) OK, otherwise ERROR. I can't modify the message (or dynamic configuration) as I'm using a WSS in the sender channel. The system doesn't allow me to change anything in the message, so I can't find out in the mapping what the validation result was. I then tried to do the validation directly in the message mapping, but I have some issues there with libraries or what, because the validation code, which works in the adapter module, doesn't work in the mapping java class. So my final thought was maybe I could validate the message in the adapter module and pass the result to the message mapping and then create an appropriate return message (in the mapping). However, I see no way of passing a value there. I'm stuck and have no Idea how to resolve the problem. Any hints guys?
    Thanks a lot for your help!

  • Runtime Execption Message Mapping

    Hi,
    I have created a scenario, receiving a sequential text file. The receiving container (CT1)is a process container type:abstract interface. CT1 is specified as source message for the following transformation process. Target message is a CT2 specified as abstract interface and process container. The transformation process creates the above mentioned error. The messages mapping test in the design repository is successful.
    Any ideas why this error occurs?
    Cheers, Jo

    Thanks for that hint. I still have problems to configure the adapter as required for the interface. The interface has an XML structure like :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns:BPNO xmlns:ns="http://pcs.acn.com/basicdata">
      <BPNO>12345</BPNO>
    </ns:BPNO>
    and the adapter either needs to have the document name or the adapter deletes the value of the fields like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <ns:BPNO xmlns:ns="http://pcs.acn.com/basicdata">
      <BPNO />
      </ns:BPNO>
    Any ideas how to specify the adapter?
    Any help is appriciated!

  • Missing message mapping in SXMB_MONI

    Hi All,
    I am doing a mapping from XI to 2 receivers CRM proxy and JMS adapter.
    When I executed the whole process, I can see success flags in both XI MONI with 2 nodes one for receiver grouping and other for response. The request message mapping node is missing. When i checked CRM MONI for the same message, the inbound message payload is blank. What could be the reason for the missing message mapping IN sxmb_moni.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Are you copying the source xml from message test tab to trigger the scenario.
    If so you need to remove <messages> <message> node from the input type.
    Always the root of your input xml should be your message type name.

    Any help in resolving these issues is greatly appreciated.
    Thanx,
    Homiar.

    Hallo Homiar,
    to the first problem:
    Do you get the same error, if you test the mapping in the Integration Builder:Design? I mean, you can download the XML instance which is entered into the Message
    Mapping  zMsgMap in the Integration Engine Monitor (R/3 Transaction SXMB_MONI) and use this XML in the test environment of the Message Mapping in the Integration Builder:Design.
    to the second problem:
    It looks like that the  Message Mapping xMsg_mapping could not be found by the Integration Engine. You can try to reactivate the Message Mapping in the Integration Builder. This is done for example by changing the description of the corresponding Message Mapping object and saving and activating the object.

  • Message mapping problem: BAPI with range table parameters

    A kind hello to all,
    I try to call the BAPI_ALM_ORDERHEAD_GET_LIST in a 4.70 system via RFC connector. The configuration already works with another BAPI. With this here I get message mapping exception:
    Trace level="1" type="T">com.sap.aii.utilxi.misc.api.
    (How can I switch the trace language to English easily? I try to translate:
    "BAPI_ALM_ORDERHEAD_GET_LIST cannot be created. Check if the XML instance meets the requirements for the output XSD and the destination field mapping meets the requirements of the destination XSD.")
    But the mapping test tool in the Integration Builder Design does not report any warning or error.
    My guess is that the problem lies in the parameter structure of the BAPI_ALM_ORDERHEAD_GET_LIST: I have to fill the IT_RANGES selection range table, so it looks as if I need several instances of the item in the corresponding XML. Can I use "Duplicate tree" in the mapping editor? Here I got another exception?
    Many thanks for any help!
    Regards,
    Carsten

    Hi Udo,
    you gave the final hint, indeed I used a XML file that was not evidently not compliant to the message type I created (even though it had been validated by Altova XMLspy).
    From now onwards I only use the "Create instance" function of the test tool to create the XML body of my test messages...
    Thanks a lot,
    and best regards,
    Carsten

    the best way to do it will be via value mapping

    in this case in future any change comes only your value mapping table needs to be altered unlike editing your UDF.

  • Hi , friends pls explain abap mapping and message mapping

    1) pls explain abap mapping and message mapping
       send me screen shorts also.

    Hi
    Mapping Techniques
    XI provides 3 standard ways of interface mapping between source and target.
    Graphical mapping
    Java Mapping
    XSLT Mapping
    Two more additional mapping types can be activated in XI by making changes to the exchange profile. Those two mappings are
    ABAP mapping
    XSLT mapping with ABAP Extensions
    Graphical Mapping
    Graphical mapping is a common approach followed by everyone for generating desired target structure. It involves simple drag-n-drop to correlate respective nodes (fields) from source and target structure. It hardly involves coding. (Exception - User defined functions). But sometimes with graphical mapping it is difficult to produce required output. For example ... text/html output, namespace change, sorting or grouping of records etc.
    ABAP Mapping
    A person comfortable with Object Oriented ABAP can go for ABAP mapping instead.
    Java Mapping
    Java Mapping uses 2 types of parsers. DOM and SAX. DOM is easier to use with lots of classes to help you create nodes and elements, but , DOM is very processor intensive.
    SAX parser is something that parses your XML one after the other, and so is not processor intensive. But, it is not exaclty easy to develop either.
    XSLT Mapping
    One can also think of Java mapping as another option but it is a bit complex and required knowledge of Java. In such cases, XSLT mapping can be the best approach to meet the requirements.
    A few example cases in which an XSLT mapping can be used:-
    When the required output is other than XML like Text, Html or XHTML (html displayed as XML)
    When default namespace coming from graphical mapping is not required or is to be changed as per requirements.
    When data is to be filtered based on certain fields (considering File as source)
    When data is to be sorted based on certain field (considering File as source)
    When data is to be grouped based on certain field (considering File as source)\
    Advantages of using XSLT mapping
    XSLT program itself defines its own target structure.
    XSLT programs can be imported into SAP XI. Message mapping step can be avoided. One can directly go for interface mapping once message interfaces are created and mapping is imported.
    XSLT provides use of number of standard XPath functions that can replaces graphical mapping involving user defined java functions easily.
    File content conversion at receiver side can be avoided in case of text or html output.
    Multiple occurrences of node within tree (source XML) can be handled easily.
    XSLT can be used in combination with graphical mapping.
    Multi-mapping is also possible using xslt.
    XSLT can be used with ABAP and JAVA Extensions.
    Disadvantages of using XSLT mapping
    Resultant XML payload can not be viewed in SXMB_MONI if not in XML format (for service packs < SP14).
    Interface mapping testing does not show proper error description. So errors in XSLT programs are difficult to trace in XI but can be easily identified outside XI using browser.
    XSLT mapping requires more memory than mapping classes generated in Java.
    XSLT program become lengthier as source structure fields grows in numbers.
    XSLT program sometimes become complex to meet desired functionality.
    Some XSL functions are dependent on version of browser.
    Different types of Mappings
    MAPPING SUPPORTED BY XI
    Message Mapping -> Graphical Design and testing environment. Default Provided By XI. Queue based modelling allow handling or large documents. Extensible via user defined functions
    XSLT Mapping - > Based on openstandard, Portable across application platform, Extensible using user defined functions kewl but disadvantage is Memory overload while handling large documents.
    SAX -> Simple Api For XML. -> Allows you to parse through a XML document. Doesn't consume any memory. But the message can be parsed only once from top to bottom. It Has evolved by contributions made by group of ppl itz a open architecture.
    DOM -> Document Object Model -> Itz designed by W3C. Consumes Memory as the message will be loaded. Allows parsing of document in both way top down and bottom up.
    Send me your email id.Shall send you very good docs for both ABAP Mapping and message mapping.
    Thanks

  • Message mapping crashes only in INterface Mapping

    hi guys,
    i have an issue with one of my interface mapping. the message mapping crashes when i run the interface mapping. however when i run the message mapping separately it works fine.
    any hints?
    thanks,
    ali.

    Hi Ali,
    If you are using try catch then in case of catch condition if you pass null to substring it will fail.. Either you call the substring inside your udf (so that you can make sure that the filename is available then only substring is called) else handle the null condition in message mapping before calling substring...
    Also you can try looking into the display queue entry for substring in Message Mapping for further analysis. Here also you will not get any filename by dynamic configuration, but i am not sure why it was not failing there.. May be display queue will help you.

  • Error while activating any message mapping in IR: very strange

    hi forum i m getting an error in IR while activating any messageMapping.
    the error is too long to be posted....i m posting a few lines of that:

    Sudeep,
    Let we try this way. I'm sure you might have some existing mapping objects in IR.
    Try to change that object(Description give some name) and activate again the object.
    Reply your results whether you are getting the same error.
    One sec before changing the object just test the mapping and change the object.
    Best regards,
    raj.
