MfE 2.5.0 & 2.5.5 No Account Permission When Synci...

Hi,
We've been running MfE since v2.0.0, and 90% of the time everything works fine. However, it seems that after the application has been installed for a few days, we start to get Sync errors. The most common is:
"Your account does not have permission to sync with current settings. Contact your administrator"
However, if you do a manual Sync, everything works fine again for a couple of Syncs, then errors again. I keep upgrading the versions in the hope that the issue will be fixed, however I've just installed 2.5.5 (for S60 3.1) on a users E51, and had the error pop up on the second Sync.
Can someone suggest a fix/work around? Are Tech Support aware of this issue? If so, is there likely to be a fix?
Any help appreciated
Ben

Hi Ben
Have/Could you try excluding your calendar from syncronisation?
This is my main bug bear with MfE day to day - I still have not tied it down 100% but it had something to do with recurring appointments in combination with ?????
And its a pain in the ........

  • N8 MFE google calendar multiple calendar sync

    Hi,
I have 2 stk nokia n8. One for me and one for my wife. We are using google calendar to sync/share our schedule between us.
I have set up MFE on both and it is syncing both my calendar and my contacts with no problem. In our gcal/gmail account I have shared our calendars so whatever she puts into here calendar I will see and visa versa.
The problem is that after changing from android to nokia n8 I can't see here calendar when sync via MFE. Via the web interface at my gmail account I can see insert and share my schedule, but our n8`s wont sync anything else than our separate calendars.
Any ideas? I don't want to install any 3`rd party software to get this done. Please nokia, if this is something that is not possible at the moment, can you fix it? We need it to work as soon as possible.
    Cheers

I must mention that I have tried ovi sync as well and shared both calendars via the web interface. We can see eachoters calendar notes when viewing on the web but when N8n is syncing it is not possible to see on my phone my wifes calendar notes. Strange

  • MFE Error, no automatic sync

    Hi,
We are using Nokia E51 (400.34.011) and MFE 2.09.158
Our Mail Server is a Exchange 2007 with SP2
Suddenly, our Nokia devices don't sync automatically anymore...
Our profile is set to sync automatically for allways.
When you edit something in the profile and click back, it saves the profile and start the sync.
This works like a charm. But after a couple of minutes, it doesn't sync anymore.

Our Windows Mobile devices don't have this problem.
Please help since this is really urgent, 60 people are facing with this issue at the moment...
    Thanks

well actually, i don't see what it has to do with the certificate, we have a certificate server and each 2 years we deploy a new certificate for our services. What we also did (i forgot to mention ) is that we have updated our Exchange 2007 with SP2. So it is running the latest updates now. could it have to do anything with this update? and how come that it works on the Windows Mobile devices, Outlook 2003/2007 RPC/HTTP and on Nokia E51 with sync "Every 15minutes" but NOT when syncing "Always".... it clearly has to do something with MFE, right?

  • E71 BUG - Contacts sync with MfE: Notes simple for...

I have set up notes per contacts in Outlook. When I synced these via Mail for Exchange, they have lost their linebreaks and become unreadable on the E71. This is even though they are still available and correct in Outlook.
Mighty bad for a business phone.

    Quick update:
I installed the latest trial version of Roadsync for Symbian S60 3rd edition and contacts sync. works perfectly both ways with the Zimbra server for creation and deletion of contacts. E-mails and calendars are OK.
It even syncs the tasks created on the phone to the server, something that MfE had never been able to do. It won't syncs tasks created on the server to the phone, though.
So, it's definitely an MfE problem...
But at 49 €, it's kind of a pain in my rear end to pay for something I was supposed to have built-in the phone...
Please MfE Team, heed my call...

  • How can I sync Google Calendar with my E75?

This is driving me insane. I've searched and searched and searched the web for a way to sync my E75 unlocked phone with Google Calendar. 90% of the threads and comments Google digs up simply say, "It doesn't work." Some people seem to have manged to get it to work with some very minor variations on the following directions:
    1. On the E75, press the Menu key.
    2. Select Email.
    3. Remove the Mail for Exchange mailbox (if it currently exists).
    4. Select New from the home screen of the Email application.
    5. Press Start.
    6. Enter a fictitious email addres that you know does not exist.
    7. Press OK.
    8. Enter a fictitious password for the fictitious email address.
    9. Press OK.
    10. Select Mail for Exchange.
    11. Type in your Gmail username/email address.
    12. Press OK.
    13. Leave the Domain blank.
    14. Press OK.
    15. Type: m.google.com
    16. Press OK twice.
    17. Type in your Gmail password.
    18. Press Log in.
    19. Go to the home screen of the Email application.
    20. Select Settings.
    21. Select Personal information management.
    22. Select Applications.
    23. Select Calendar.
    24. Select Calendar sync (this will enable calendar).
    25. Go to the home screen of the Email application.
    26. Select Settings.
    27. Select Mail for Exchange.
    28. Select What to sync.
    29. Select Sync email (this will disable email).
    30. Select Back three times.
    31. Press Options.
    32. Select Synchronize.
My problem is that my E75 Mail app doesn't have the Mail for Exchange option described in step 10. The rest of the procedure just goes down the tube at that point. After a great deal of research, I'm left with the impression that either something is wrong with my phone or these directions are out of date. Has anyone had recent experience configuring the E75 to work with Google Calendar either through MfE or through another (free) app?

     Hi there,
didn't read your complete rant, it's clear you've disappointed by substandard product and/or mismatching expectations, I on the other hand have had a exceptional good experience with my N95. It's reaching old age now, so I can't wait for the N900. However I do see Nokia has a challenge to overcome, well two actually. Yes you're right they're trying too hard to create some Nokia-bounded platforms, instead of facillitating the connectivity between platforms. Recently saw some intresting concepts in the beta apps, but they require a similar nokia app on the other side. Well I'm very sorry Nokia, nowadays I don't even know the number of the person I'll be calling, do you really believe I know (or want you to tell me = $$?) who of my contacts has this app enabled?  With some good will and some fantasy I could say it's a part of brandpositioning and solidifing (or some other fancy BS ;-) ). Nokia however also seems to have an issue with postdevelopment integration and streamlining of their apps. Developing apps as more or less seperate entities might seem a sensible develment strategy and it probably is when combined with good (read efficient and thus "cheap") projectmanagement.  If a contact has a birthday mentioned in contacts, don't you think I would want to see that in my calendar? If I try to be smart, I give the input myself, but then what happens? When syncing I get 2 birthdays is my outlook calendar ;-( Similar ennoying feat happens with GPS locations, I´m using serach address, use contactlist. Have a guess where I´d like the coordinates to go to when saved....no it´s not a new and seperate entry in favourites which in turn is read by the address book, these things should have seamless integration.  User experience and ultimately satisfaction cannot be achieved by solely developing series of new and improved functionalities,  cause to us,  the consumer it´s not primarily a functionality. It´s actually a person, either in direct communication or otherwise stored for future communication. As a producer of these communication devices Nokia should show they understand this, preferably through their products. Regarding your issue syncing with Google Calendar, I'm assuming you're already using the calendar. Why not download the Google apps app? Or if you only want the calendar, take the standalone calendar app, Basically you'll have a mobilized calendar view with most of the functionalities there. Can't be online indefinetly? Just save the page locally, nothing you can't handle ;-) The solutions with either MfE reconfig or syncing with outllook/windows calendar in the middle are feasible too, however you do need to be carefull when setting direction and/or dominance of the sync relation. Multipoint syncing can become a severe headache if you haven't set it up proparly..... I've also included a google info mail, they send me some time ago. Loads of info&links, I'm sure there's a solution there which will fit your needs

  • Mail for exchange v. 2.09

    Hi all,
I have a user with an E71 mobile and we have installed Mfe 2.09 on it. After we syncronized the first time with Outlook / Exchange something strange happened with her contacts.
80% of all contacts lost their phonenumbers ! Name and email were kept all right but some phone numbers got lost in the syncronization.
Have anyone tried or seen this before ? Or something like this ? And can give me a explanation on whet went wrong ?
    Rgards
    Martin

    Hi Martin
We experienced a problem where Contacts originating on old Nokia handsets end up with the number in the other number field when syncing with mail for exchange.
We used an Outlook macro to move them to mobile, office, home, etc. and all was well.

  • Nokia E7 ActiveSync stops syncing

    Hi,
I've recently been having an issue with syncing emails when using ActiveSync.
After a fews days, syncing no longer works and I have to delete and recreate the ActiveSync account. This works for a few days and then the problem occurs again.
Looking at the MfE logs, I can see the following error every time the sync fails:
    27/03/2012 06:25:03 Connected to connection method named <Connection Name> with type <Connection Type>
27/03/2012 06:25:08 The current ComamndHandler State is EFolderSync.
    27/03/2012 06:25:08 CEasCmdHandler:oRunL - Main state machine. PreviousMainState = 4.CurrentMainState = 4. CurrentPolicyState =0.Error =-6
I can't identify any factors that lead to the failure of syncing, but once it stops syncing, the only way appears to be to delete the account and recreate.
    I'd appreciate any assistance available.
    Device details:
    24/03/2012 13:00:14 Mail for Exchange Build : 1.00.000
    24/03/2012 13:00:14 Device Software Version: 111.030.0609 2011-11-26 RM-626 (c) Nokia
    24/03/2012 13:00:14 Device Model: E7-00

I think I found the cause for this problem. When syncing is in the middle of the progress and the phone is shutdown it remembers the last sync phase, but loses some data from RAM and thus stucks to infinite loop.
Haven't managed to verify if this happens with all shutdowns or only with total shutdown (i.e. power button pressed until phone shakes).

  • E71 - Birthday in Outlook contacts gets the wrong ...

I've discvoverd that the birthday date set in Outlook get one day erlier in the E71 when syncing using MFE (Nokia's Mail For Exchange).
I'm using Exchange 2007 SP1 and all the updates available for it and sync directly to the Exchange server.
Like if the date in Oulook is 23 may 1972. In My contacts on the E71 it's stated 22 may 1972 on that person.
Also it has been occuring duplicates birthday in the Outlook calendar after I synced. And they seams to occur a couple day in advance of the real event.
I have been using Outlook for over 10 years and Echange for over 5 years with many diffrent phones and PDA (anything from the old Palm III, Psion 5 and Windows CE), but this started to happen with the introduction of MFE
    Has anyone simular problem?

    Use the SEARCH Luke!

I had a similar problem when checking out the Nokia Communication Centre Beta release. For this reason I have stop using Nokia Communication Centre. Later when Nokia Communication Centre was released with PC Suite 7 this problem did not exist anymore. I have upgraded to firmware v.300 I think before the latest release of PC Suite, so I'm not sure whether it was the phone or PC Suite. I also wonder if the different time zones isn't maybe causing the problem as I remember when I did a firmware upgrade some time back the timestamp on files on my phone was out by the difference between GMT and my timezone although my timezone was set the same as before the upgrade. Maybe the times are save in GMT and displayed in your timezone and when sync to Outlook maybe GMT time are sync.

  • Mail for Exchange + exchange 2007 problem

I have a Customer with an Exchange 2007 SP1 server
Two of the workers has an E65.
They were using MfE up untill 3 months ago with no problems
now when they try to sync, it just gets stuck at connecting
i can see it reaches the IIS on the server with the exchange due to the cert popup(made it untrusted for testing purpose), and when i check the IIS logs i can see the connection attempt.
i installed the latest MfE that was released last week and the problem still exhists.

Missing Protocol Version Header. Reverting to EAS 2.0
    KerrError
i tryed ALL sort of setting in mfe, but the real thing is that an iphone 4 and my old sumsung are ok with same account in minutes....so is not a exchange server wrong setting...
    exchnage 2007 sp1 patched
no problem with iphone 4 same identical account and server (1 minute to set it and to see email) no request of ssl or not ssl, the autoredirect to owa internal default site is trasparent to the client....
no problem with my samsung shg-i780 win mobile 6.1
NO sync with my new E5 ....
if i login to same OWA server from nokia web browser, i access with my user but only in LIGHT owa and not FULL owa: i can't change it in the login page but after that i see without problems my mailbox. Not in MFE.....
in the iphone 4 or windows mobile 6 i try same public server like this :
myowa.mybusiness.com  and also in browser i can access to it in FULL mode.

  • E71 Mail for Exchange System Error, try again late...

    Hi,
    Please Help!
I installed MfE 2.7 on my E71, but whenever I try to sync my email and calender, I get a system error.
It begins to sync the email but after that it doesn't sync the calender and I get the system error. Also each time it tries to sync emails, it retrieves all the mail each time.
If I sync only the calender, it retrieves all the items and I get a system error. I've pasted the admin log below.
    27/10/2008 10:17:42 start Email sync
    27/10/2008 10:17:53 sync died (11), collection=Email activity=handling commands from server

    27/10/2008 10:22:42 start Email sync
    27/10/2008 10:23:01 sync died (47), collection=Email activity=handling commands from server
Does anyone know how to solve this?

OK - like many on the copius web discussions on this Nokia E71 model/MfE topic I have been getting terminally frustrated with an otherwise great phone.
A trawl through the websites gave me lots of things to try, but most didn't work.
Our large corporate IT dept also were left scratching their heads, and resorted to a full reset, which cured the problem briefly, but as with others' experience it soon returned (also having to fully reconfig is a pain in the proverbial). Things suggested on the discussion sites like disabling Tasks synch, or Secure Connection didn't have any effect.
The fact that most others with the same phone on our system hadn't experienced the problem seemed to hint at it not being a server issue, but something more localised. The apparent fact that 'Emails' did synch OK, but that the process hung on 'Calendar' synch suggested it was a Calendar issue
One post mentioned issues with no-finish-date recurring appointments in Calendar, so I investigated these. I found that one or two had no end date, so I gave these items one.
But interestingly, I also found a high proportion of appointments that had been created last year (09) had end dates like 'Wed 31/03/00' when clearly 'Wed 31/03/10' was intended - was this an odd default in Calendar, or just careless typing? The consequences were that Calendar was possibly wrestling with numerous recurring appts with either 100-year durations, or possibly just hanging on the date confusion - is '00' before or after '10'?.
Therefore, as a precaution, I checked all my recurring appts like this (the procedure may vary according to your browser):-
    - In Calendar, open each recurring appt in turn;
    - Open the series, not just the individual appointment;
    - Check 'Recurrence';
    - Check that an 'End By' date is there, and that it is not '00';
    - Click OK;
    - Click OK again if warned about exceptions;
    - Cick 'Save & Close'.
Do this to absolutely all recurring appointments in your Calendar.
Then do a full resynch (Menu/MfE/Synch Mode/Full Resynch etc).
I didn't hold much hope of any effect, but Lo!, it did work, and now Emails, Contacts, Tasks, and Calendar all synch fine so far, using Menu/MfE/Mail for Exchange/Options/Synchronise.
I hope this works for others...let me know if it does.

  • Why do you install stuff on my PC without asking m...

For a while now I've been woondering about an add-on to Firefox that appeared, PC Sync 2.  It was greyed out, ineffectual, and not officially removeable.
It appears to have been installed without my permission by Nokia PC Suite.
I'm very particular what software I install on my PC, and software that goes beyond its remit gets a big black mark.  If you think it's a good piece of software, ask me if I'd like to include it, please.
    Rick

Totally agree. Who Nokia think they are?. It`s my computer, can you at least ask permission to install stuff?.
Maybe they should consider solving issues like the all day sync between Google Calendar and MfE instead of installing non compatible plug-ins without permission. The extension is not compatible with FF 3.5.5 but can not be removed without editing the Windows registry.
Bad developers, bad attitude and bad support is what Nokia are showing these days.

  • Can't create new / forward / reply email on 6700 s...

I have google sync set on MFE account. It syncs well with the excising mail, calendar, contacts. But for some odd reason I can't create new mail message.
"Toimintoa ei voitu suorittaa loppuun" ( veeery vague, "Can't complete action!" I guess) says the modal dialog overlay over the recipient / subject fields. Pushing anything cancels the new message.
I have been hunting different setting for email, mfe, messages for a while but have not come up with anything that would have helped with the issue?

This solved it. Don't know why. Shouldn't be like this. When I searched for it, the file appeared. Not only it it appear but my three other attempts appeared as well. All four of them are in Contacts. That's a bit wacked I think.
    Thanks very much.
Wait it gets better. I went back to the email. Clicked the email address to save it. Selected Add to existing contact. Found the contact. Added it. Click Done, and the name is gone again from the Conatcts directory. Used the search function again, and it reappeared.
But there's more. Left the phone app. Came back to it and the name is gone again. Apparently every time I want this name I have to add it by searching in Spotlight, and of course it's not updating iCloud so it's never going to get back to my computer.

  • E61i Mail for Exchange error - any clues?

    Hi,
My E61i has recently stopped syncing, via MfE and now displays the message, "Your account does not have permission to sync with current settings. Contact your administrator."
I have tried various things including reinstalling MfE and creating a new profile (twice). I am trying to sync back to a Zimbra server  ZCS operated by my email supplier. I can sync my PC quite happily. But the E61i won't play either using 3G (vodafone) or over WiFi

    Cheers

ok, problem was solved. What was done:
attmpted to sync with WM device and got error 0x86000108. This means "there's a corrupted item in your mailbox". In my case it was one of the emails in subfolders in Inbox.

  • Mail For Exchange: Error 370

    Hi,
I'm using the Nokia E61 with Mail For Exchange (2.2.0).
It's configured to sync automatically and to send emails right away, (and not wait for the next sync to send them).
Recently the 'automatic send' has stopped working. Upon sending them I get a sync error report in MfE and the mail gets stuck in the outbox. When I go to the outbox and manually try to send them, the same thing happens.
If I now try to sync with MfE manually, or wait for the automatic sync to do its job. The mail goes away beautifully.
I have tried the 'usual stuff', and by that I mean testing different versions, formatting the phone and reinstalling everything, resetting the password for the account. I've even tried a different phone, (another E61).
The adminlog contains the following errorcode:
370 The request body needed to be rewound but the client but it doesn't support
Error Occurred During Sending Mail. Setting status to Waiting For Reconnect
    HTTP Failure while sending messages.
(To me, neither the specific phone, mfe version nor the mfe settings seem to be the source of error. I'm probably doing something wrong, but the errorcode simply does not help me).
This has now affected, including myself, at my workplace and any help would be much appreciated!

There's a new version available(Ver2.3), maybe it will solve your problem.

  • Mail for Exchange - N82 - Gmail FULL Sync Working ...

I've just installed mail for excange on my N82, and set up the sync for my google apps account, for calendar and contacts (as i was using System Seven and it kept loosing half my contacts when syncing)! - Not happy.
I noticed that Google and Nokia don't support the e-mail push, although i thought i'd give it a go and i activated it anyway - And it is working great for me.
It created a new 'mail for exchange' folder in my messaging list, and works perfectly as a push email solution.
I've tested contacts, calendar and email and it is very fast and just 'works!' - Just wanted to know if anyone else is using this as there complete solution to sync with their google accounts?? as i cant find anyone being positive about the service. and for free.
Let me know if it's working for you, as seems to be 1000 times better than nokia messaging, by snycing everything including emails!
There must be a downside?  Will my data transfer be high? Or does it keep an open connection and only update when changes are made (like most other push systems)?
    Feedback will be great

So you can use MfE for your personal emails, without having a corporate exchange? if that's true and i can set this up with my personal website, gmail and hotmail, i'll download it and give it a whirl
