MI21 Physical Inventory Report Sort by Storage Bin

Hi gurus.
I am working on INVENT, copied to ZINVENT SapScript and one of the requirements is to sort the report by Storage Bin. Currently the storage bins are fetched at print time item by item, not using an itab.
Is there any way to sort the items by Storage Bin (MABDR-LGPBE) in the code?
Thanks!
Julio

Hi Subas,
That's the problem, that field is not included in the items itab. This field is populated at item level, item per item when print form command is sent to SapScript. It is not stored in any itab.

  • Urgent: regarding physical inventory report display

    hi,
i had made a report in which i have to display the physical inventory report details in which details about the material is to be given.
I want to check the details which are present in the tcode MI07 . Can anybody tell me any tcode in which i can see the details of mi07 tcode(including the reason of it).

    Greetings,
It might shed some light to read about the display in your portable computer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LCD
LCDs are primarily plastic panels with various layers inside.  Pressure applied to those panels can cause them to crack, leaking the liquid crystal components about.  Pressure could be heavy books in a bag pushing against the screen, heavy cat sitting on a closed lid, dog, other animal, someone slamming the lid, child running through the room, etc.  This applies to any LCD whether it be in a computer or in a Television (don't press too hard on your TV screen!!).
Displays don't exhibit the type of damage you indicate by themselves.  A single pixel might go dead in an LCD but zig zag lines indicates cracking of the layers inside the panels themselves.  Something from the outside world made an impact on the display resulting in the damage you see.  You may not have been the one pressing hard on it and you may not have seen it happen, but something happened.
The 1 year limited warranty and AppleCare protection plan offer coverage for component failures, not damage.
Coverage for damage would be provided by something along the lines of insurances (home owners, renters, etc.)  If you purchased this computer with a Credit Card you may wish to contact your Credit Card company.  Many cards have included insurance for purchases you make so even if an item is damage during your use of it, they will cover it.
    Best of luck.

  • Last physical inventory report

Is there a report that we can run by plant to show materials and the date of their last physical inventory count?  Thanks in advance for your help.

    Transaction MIDO.
a last count date can be seen while clicking the button Inventory data for material.
But you can directly monitor the situation via SE16 on table MARD. MARD keeps field last inventory date.

  • HL Physical Inventory: Control data for storage type  is missing

    Dear experts,
When performing an ad-hoc HL inventory in EWM, I'm facing following issue after I try to save the countet inventory document:
This is how my storage type where the inventory will be performed looks like:
What could be a reason for such a behaviour?
    Thank you in advance
    BR
    Denis

Hi Denis, you need to have the parent object in the counted item list. That means it is necessary to count the HU with parent object as Storage Bin and then you can count HU content with the parent object as HU.
When I deleted the parent object I was able to simulate your error:

  • Multiple physical inventory counts for same storage loc

We have a plant where the same SAP storage location is used for multiple physical locations (e.g. individual build stations). We would like to be able to count by physical area rather than by part number per se. So the goal would be to enter multiple counts against the same part and post differences only when all counts are done, as defined by the aggregate of the individual counts.
Is this possible? I tested it using MI31 to create phys inventory doc, then Mi04 for count 1 and MI09 for count 2, but received a message M7700 "Physical inventory for XX is already active"
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

How do you know in your SAP in which area the material is?
can you know this from MMBE or MB52?
if not, then I do not see any chance for MI31, except you just create one inventory doc for the entire location and make copies of the document for each area you have. after counting you have to consolidate each copy into one and post then the count in MI04.

  • How to via physical inventory report?

I had run background job via mi30,then how can I to view all generated physical inventory document after running background job in mi30?

how could you execute MI30 if this transaction is not in SAP?
    I guess you executed MI31.
Inventory numbers can be found in the log of the batch input session. But it is not really necessary to obtain the numbers from there for the next steps.
If you want print with MI21 , then just enter the selection criteria equal to your selection in MI31. SAP finds the documents itself then.
Best you flag the boxes in from of status selection for inventory docs and inventory items. and search by status.

  • Creating Physical Inventory Documents using batch job in WM

We use transaction LX26 to create the physical inventory documents for the storage bins and the materials therein. and the new PI dates are proposed based on the cycle count indicators configured.
We want to automate the creation of physical inventory documents using a batch job. How can we achieve this?
I understand that the program RM07ICN1 generates PI documents only when materials are managed at IM levels and this does not work for WM. Is there any other standard program which can be set up in batch to create the PI documents for the materials at WM level? If there is something then please let me know details....
    Thanks,

    I entered following details,
    WH no.
    Storage Type
Inventory in Period (One year date range)
    Inventory Count date (Today's date)
The output in spool shows me the following,
No of Records Passed ;Quant Information; InventoryProposal; Later / block; Bin Information; Empty bins; Inventory active
The list of storage bin, material, description & inventory date is also displayed.
Description has Scheudled and Overdue and the inventory date is some dates in next months.
It doesnt show anywhere that inventory document is generated. Please note that I had not selected the Activate Inventory List check box because I just want the system to auto create the inventory documents based on the logic of cycle count indicators.

  • Not all storage bins in LX16 transaction Carry Out continous inventory

    Hello,
I would be please if anybody knows the way of working of transacction LX16. Our client is running this transaction and have the problem that for a warehouse number and storage type, the report not shows all the storage bins that is created and with stock. If we run LX03 transacction, for the same selection we obteins all the storage bins, but if we do the same for LX16 the storage bin is not showed.
    Can somebody help us??
    Thanks in advance

    hi
LX16 transaction is only for " Continious Physical inventory Counting Only"
LX03 is for bin status Report
    Take Continuous Inventory
    Purpose
With the continuous inventory method, you take inventory for a certain number of storage bins in a storage type. The inventory can take place at any time during the fiscal year.
Continuous inventory has the following advantages over the annual inventory count at the end of the fiscal year:
The effort and costs for the inventory is not concentrated on a certain day or days but is distributed over the entire year. This means that the warehouse supervisor can plan the workforce needed for the workload in the warehouse more accurately.
Inventory can be conducted during slow times in the warehouse, such as during summer vacation periods.
With a reduction in the effort required at the end of the fiscal year, you can respond better to problems that might arise during a year-end closing.
When an inventory is carried out on a continuous basis, up-to-date information about the correspondence between the warehouse stock and the book inventory is always available.
    Prerequisites
Inventory methods are defined for each storage type. To define a continuous inventory for a storage type, see Activities ® Physical Inventory ® Define Types per Storage Type in the Warehouse Management section of the Implementation Guide (IMG) documentation.
    Process Flow
To run a continuous inventory, you need to complete the following steps in the order displayed:
Plan the inventory by selecting storage bins, for which you want to take inventory.
    Create the system inventory record
    Activate the system inventory record
    Print the warehouse inventory list.
Take physical inventory in the warehouse.
    Enter the inventory results
    Close the inventory
Process differences in Warehouse Management (WM) and record them in Inventory Management (IM).
hope this helps to solve your issue
    regards
    KKY

  • In Physical Inventory Check_Which movement type used for stock difference.

In Case of Physical Inventory we are getting the stock differences after count results, Help me in doing the transaction thru which the stock is adjusted and which Movement types are used for the difference posting, What all documents are created in the process.

  • Physical Inventory vs. Cycle Counting

    Hi Experts -
In the absence of the Cycle counting indicator and ABC Analysis is it safe to say that Cycle Counting is not a relevant scenario?
Physical inventory is different PI doc > Count > Recount > Clear differences.
What is the standard functionality if both the ABC and CC indicator is not set?
    Thank you.

    Hi Gary,
you are right if the CC indicator is not set in the material master then cycle count is not a relevant scenario. Cycle count is one of the method however you can define the system for Continuous count or Annual inventory  in addition to both the option you can also activate
PlcmntInv(Continuous inventory upon placement into stock)
ZeroCkin (Continuous inventory based on zero stock check during removal of stock from bin)
The normal Physical inventory process is
    Create & Activate a PI Doc (LI01N)---- Count (LI11N) / RecounT (LI14, if required)------Clear difference in WM(LI20) ---Clear difference in IM (LI21)
SPRO-----LE---WM ---ACTIVTIVES----PHYSICAL INVENTORY ------DEFINE TYPE PER STORAGE TYPE

  • How to populate list of materials in IM level Physical Inventory document?

    Hi,
Suppose we have maintained 1000 materials in storage location ABCD. Now when I undertake physical inventory process at IM level, I have to create physical inventory document for this storage location ABCD and I will have to input all these 1000 materials manually for count process in the document.
Is there any other way whereby if I select the storage location, all the materials which are maintained in this location will get automatically populated in the physical inventory document.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sanjog

    Hello,
SAP provides standard transaction MI31 to create Physical inventory documents. In the selection screen, you may enter your storage location to include all materials of that location.
    Thanks,

  • Type of Physical Inventory

    Dear All,
how many type of Physical Inventory we can do in SAP.Please explain in detials & also Steps(T-code).
    Regards
    Pavan

    Hi,
Physical Inventory Locate the document in its SAP Library structure
    Purpose
This component allows you to carry out a physical inventory of your company’s warehouse stocks for balance sheet purposes. Various procedures can be implemented for this.
    Scope of Functions
In the SAP system, a physical inventory can be carried out both for a company’s own stock and for special stocks. Inventory for a company’s stock and for special stocks (such as consignment stock at customer, external consignment stock from vendor, or returnable packaging) must be taken separately (in different physical inventory documents), however.
Note that the blocked stock returns and the stock in transfer cannot be inventoried. If these stocks are still to be counted in a physical inventory, you must transfer post these stocks to other stocks capable of inclusion in a physical inventory.
The stock in a warehouse can be divided into stock types. In the standard system, a physical inventory can be carried out for the following stock types:
    ·        Unrestricted-use stock in the warehouse
    ·        Quality inspection stock
    ·        Blocked stock
    Note
If batch status management is active, the first stock type covers both unrestricted-use stock and restricted-use stock.
Inventory of all stock types mentioned can be taken in a single transaction. For the materials to be inventoried, one item is created in the physical inventory document for every stock type.
Physical inventory takes place at storage location level. A separate physical inventory document is created for every storage location.
If a material does not exist in a storage location, this means that no goods movement has ever taken place for the material in the storage location. The material, therefore, has never had any stock in this storage location. The material does not exist at stock management level in the storage location. It is therefore not possible to carry out a physical inventory for the material in this storage location.
This is not to be confused with a material for which a goods movement has taken place and for which the stock balance is currently zero. A physical inventory must be carried out in this case, since storage location data is not deleted when the stock balance is zero.
    Physical Inventory Procedures
The SAP System supports the following physical inventory procedures:
    ·        Periodic inventory
    ·        Continuous inventory
    ·        Cycle counting
    ·        Inventory sampling
    Periodic Physical Inventory
In a periodic inventory, all stocks of the company are physically counted on the balance sheet key date. In this case, every material must be counted. During counting, the entire warehouse must be blocked for material movements.
    Continuous Physical Inventory
In the continuous physical inventory procedure, stocks are counted continuously during the entire fiscal year. In this case, it is important to ensure that every material is physically counted at least once during the year.
    Cycle Counting
Cycle counting is a method of physical inventory where inventory is counted at regular intervals within a fiscal year. These intervals (or cycles) depend on the cycle counting indicator set for the materials.
The Cycle Counting Method of Physical Inventory allows fast-moving items to be counted more frequently than slow-moving items.
    Inventory Sampling
In Structure link MM – Inventory Sampling, randomly selected stocks of the company are physically counted on the balance sheet key date. If the variances between the result of the count and the book inventory balance are small enough, it is presumed that the book inventory balances for the other stocks are correct.
Updating the Logistics Information System (LIS)
The physical inventory is connected to the Logistics Information System (LIS). When inventory differences are updated in the LIS, they are displayed both on a quantity and on a value basis. The physical inventory items are aggregated at inventory number level, plant level, storage location level, and material level. If you need more detailed information on the inventory differences in the LIS, you can access the list of inventory differences directly from the LIS and continue the analysis at item level.
    Restrictions
The posting of physical inventory differences is subject to certain time constraints:
    ·        The posting period is automatically set during counting. Therefore, the inventory difference must be posted to the same period or - if postings to the previous period are allowed - in the following period.
    ·        The fiscal year is set by specifying a planned count date when creating a physical inventory document. All subsequent postings to this document must take place in this fiscal year and/or in the first period of the following fiscal year, if postings to the previous period are allowed.

  • Creation of Mass Storage bin

    Hi,
We need to created storage bin for warehouse. we were planning to use LSMW. We cannot use auto creation of stroage bin LS10 since the numbers are not in a proper sequence.
However we need to add value to the field 'Sort fld pick' for every storage bin which will be used latter for sorting the storage bin in pick list.
This field is not available when u create storage bin. This field is only avaialble when u are change mode after creating the storage bin.
Also we cannot use the customization for define sort sequence for stock removal.
Can anybody help me how to fix the issue.
    thanks in advance
    Regards

    Hi,
Storage Bins creations and Sort fld stck plcm/Sort fld picking are all  master data maintenance, to maintains these you need to create LSMW or BDC. There is now option on customization etc.
let me know if you have any more questions.
