Microsoft Word Report causes crash

Hi all.
I'm using the Report Generation toolkit to write some data to a MS Word file. On several computers here, this works just fine, both in development and as an executable.
However, on two computers, I keep getting the following error.
This is not exactly a LabView or National Instruments Error. It looks like a Windows error, but it's definitely being caused by my LV program.
The software works well enough to open the Word file and display it, however, it fails on the next operation which is "Word Find & Replace.vi"
I tried the solution suggested for the "Error 7" problem, but that did not fix it.
I appreciate your help!

Currently, I'm on one of the computers that crashes.  (We'll call her "Emily.")
This is running Windows XP Pro. It does not have LabView installed, but it does sucessfully run a variety of LabView programs (compiled to .exe and installed via an installer.)
We just updated the Windows .NET framework from 2.5 to 4.0 Extended, but this did not fix the problem.
It has Microsoft Office 2007.
The software the causes the crash is relatively simple.  It reads a data file, does a few calculations and then tries to write the results to a Word file using search and replace.  It opens and displays the Word file just fine, but crashes when trying to do the search and replace.
The error creates a .dmp file and an error log.   The .dmp file is attached, but I don't know what format it is in. (I had to change the extension to .txt to get it to upload, but it should be .dmp)
I really appreciate any help.
Here is the error log:

  • Microsoft Word and Xcel crashing on Yosemite!

Running MS Office 2011 for MAC - I upgraded to Yosemite soon after it's release and had problems with word and xcel both crashing.  Researched the problem and found duplicate font files were suspect so I cleaned that up and things seemed to be working fine.  Then out of the blue, both word and xcel are crashing again but now they crash without launching through a doc or spreadsheet.  First few lines of the error report below.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks APPLE for thinking of all of us out here that rely on this crap to run our businesses!!!

    Hello all,
I recently downloaded a printer driver for an HP LaserJet Printer. Subsequent to downloading the driver, whenever I would like to print in Microsoft Word 2011, and go to the tab File > Print, Microsoft Word immediately crashes. It is notable that when I print by clicking the printer icon on the toolbar, I am able to print just fine with no crashes. This is certainly somehow connected to the downloading of the driver. I've attempt to solve this problem by repairing permissions in disk utility, to no avail. Please Help! Thanks!

  • Microsoft Word 2008 keeps crashing with Mountain Lion 10.8.3.

I've had this problem off and on, and judging from the forums, it seems to be common. Following advise on one discussion forum and a visit to the genius bar, I tried deleting the .plist files in the preferences folder for Word (following advice found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948489). This worked for a bit, but now the problem is back. I can't type two words before Word crashes. Does anyone have a solution?

The first message I got referred to the Font Library, so I removed duplicate fonts and removed the Microsoft folder from Library > Application Support based on a thread I read elsewhere.
    Can anyone helo?

Uninstall Office for Mac 2011, and then reinstall it. Apply the latest Office 14.4.8 update. Use Disk Utility to verify/repair permissions on your boot drive. Revisit any duplicate fonts in Font Book. Reboot Mac into Safe Boot mode to rebuild system font cache.

  • MS word - flashpaper causes crash

I used to be able to print fine to flashpaper, creating
pdf's. but suddenly when i use flashpaper it causes the ms word
    program to crash. any help?

Noticed the same problem today when I tried to convert a word
2007 doc into pdf using Flashpaper - caused Word 2007 to 'not
respond' and crash. Would wait it out, even waited an hour and
still nothing. It has worked fine in Word 2007 before, but that was
on my old computer running WinXP, this new notebook I am on that
    this happened was running Vista.
For now I would just use PDF995. It is free and does the same
thing until this gets fixed - which I hope a patch does.

I'm using an iBook G4. I'm having a problem with a lengthy Microsoft Word document. It keeps freezing when I try to make a change in it. The computer is working and working. Then I have to use a forced shutdown. And it starts all  over again. Suggestions?

Is there sufficient free space on the iBook's startup disk (typically called Macintosh HD)?  The OS and apps use free space to write temporary files, and it free space becomes too low, it can cause the Mac to bog down.  Low free space also makes whatever free space is left fragment into tiny pieces scatter all over the hard drive, making the problem even worse.  If it more than 90% full, you should free up some space.

  • Microsoft Word 2008 immediately crashes after opening

Hoping to work on a paper for school after updating to OS X Mavericks, but as the title of this post indicates, Word 2008 crashes immediately after opening.
I'm working off of a 2010 Macbook Pro, though not sure if that makes a difference.
Happy to provide more information upon request.

Try going to Font Book and validating your fonts. If that doesn't fix the problem are you getting any crash reports you can post?
If you aren't getting any crash logs - The next time the problem happens, note the date and time the problem occurred, then go to Applications/Utilities/Console and copy the log starting at the time of the crash. Paste the log in a reply. Please do not use a screen shot as they can be hard to read. If there are repeated runs of the same messages, please post only one run. Be selective about what you post and don’t  post huge amounts. Make sure there is no personal data visible. Information learned from Linc Davis.

  • Microsoft Word and Excel crash on printing in a particular font

I am trying to print in word using a font called "Rupakara". I'm using this font because I want to print the Indian rupee symbol. But when print using this font word crashes. Even if I try to print alphanumeric characters in this font , word crashes.
The same is true for excel.
    MS Word Version: 2007
Printer model: HP 1510 All-in-one Series
Can I know the reason why this happens only for this particular font?

I'm also suffering the same issue. I checked the Mime Types in ifsmgr but they appear to be correct.
I'm a little bemused as to the cause.

  • Microsoft Word crashing/lag time switching between apps

My Microsoft Word suddenly started crashing constantly. Everything is up to date with both Word and Mac software. Now, I'm starting to experience a lag between trying to highlight a word—same delay is happening when I go between applications. I have OS X and Word 2008. Thoughts?

I have the exact same issue. Whenever I switch to another app via the Dock, cmd-Tab, or clicking on another window, after a few seconds iPhoto crashes with no errors in the log (just a crash log). I had iPhoto Library Manager rebuild the library of 12,000 photos which took most of a day and had to restart through several crashes. The rebuilt library worked, but isn't really acceptable since it changed all the key photos on my events, lost all my facebook albums and slideshows, and seemed to ignore a few days of recent organizing and labeling.
It seems like some idle process (detecting faces maybe) is kicking in whenever iPhoto goes in the background that causes it to crash when it's backgrounded and idle.
The thread that crashed in the crash log is pretty uninformative:

  • Microsoft Word crashes after upgrade to Mountain Lion

I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion on my 2011 Mac Mini.
Since the upgrade, microsoft word 2011 keeps crashing when trying to save a NEW document. It saves fine an existing document but would not save (or save as) a new document. I have also installed the latest software update from microsoft.
When I log into another user account it works fine, so it must be in my user's account.
Any idea on what to do ? the microsoft forum does not offer any help on this specific matter except changing user account !

I'm having this exact same issue too, and this is my third attempt to get things working again now :( what was weird was (before I also tried to start all over with a fresh win install) I were able to boot up the bootcamp install via VMware Fusion :S I've just did a startup repair with restore and it seems to have kicked some bad things out and lets me boot in again. I think I'll make a restore point and then install the driver one by one instead, and if things then blows up, I'm hopefully able to restore back.
But this issue is pretty pretty bad.

  • Microsoft word crashing constantly

Hi, ever since the last software update my microsoft Word has been crashing constantly. I hate using Pages, and Word is just a better programme. When it works. Anybody experiencing same thing? Any ideas on how to make it stop crashing? I'm a student and it's really affecting my work.
    thanks!

I think, since you are not running lion which is likely not going to work with '08, that you would hopefully get the answer you need at the Office for Mac forums.
