Migration issue - setId(String) in the type UIComponentClassicTagBase

P.S.: I posted this on the JSF forum but got no reply. That`s why I`m posting here too.
Hi,
I've looked everywhere and tried everything I could think of but, I'm still stuck.
I'm trying to migrate from JSF 1.1 to 1.2.10.
At this point, the migration of my custom tag is an issue.
I keep getting this error:
SEVERE: Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSP:
An error occurred at line: 84 in the jsp file: /JSP/Identification.jspThe method setId(String) in the type UIComponentClassicTagBase is not applicable for the arguments (JspValueExpression)
My tag extends UIComponentELTag. I have not defined ID anywhere in my custom tag files (class, tld).
I tried defining it in my TLD and class but it didn't solve the problem.
I'd like to know what this means.
The setId method in UIComponentClassicTagBase is defined as a String. I don't get it.
Any help is appreciated.

  • [svn:bz-trunk] 11030: Tweak the deserialization of ASObjects to treat an empty string for the type of an object as null .

    Revision: 11030

    Date:     2009-10-20 11:35:02 -0700 (Tue, 20 Oct 2009)
    Log Message:
    Tweak the deserialization of ASObjects to treat an empty string for the type of an object as null. It appears that there is some logic in the LC remoting code that relies on a non-null class name to always exist. This change reverts to the old behavior of not allowing empty string as a value for the ASObject.namedType.
    This should fix bug 2448442 and its duplicates caused by the recent serialization changes.
    I don't think this is the perfect fix. Pending further investigation, a better fix would be either:
    a. If it's OK to assume that empty string should always mean null for the type of the ASObject, the code that enforces it should be in the setter/getter inside ASObject and not in the deserializer.
    b. ASObject doesn't guarantee that a named type exists or is valid. In that sense an empty string is as bad as some random characters that cannot be a valid class name in java, so depending on how disruptive it may be, the fix should be in any logic that uses ASObject.getType().

    Hi Pavan,
    "In your payload there is no namespace prefix for the elements under PayloadHeader element."
    Yes, you are right - but this message is standard AQ Adapter Header message - it's not defined by me. I just used message which was automatically added to my project when I have defined AQ Adapter.
    "In your process is the default namespace is same as namespace value of tns ??"
    Do you mean targetNamespace? If yes it's different as it points to process "targetNamespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/PF_SOA_jws/PF_APPS/APPS_PROCESS" (names of application and process have changed as I try different ways to do that)
    ns1 is: xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/aq/PF_SOA/PF_APPS/PO_AQ"
    "another thing is tns and ns1 should have same values.."
    When I create a variable of header type, namespace ns1 is automatically created for it. I set it as property of receive activity. When process is instantiated on the serwer I get the error in which you can see that namespace is tns.
    Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I don't see how I could fix this in my process.
    You can see that the message I get on the server has nothing in common with the application/project/process names. Is it possible to define such variable?
    Regards
    Pawel
    PS:
    In Transformation xsl file, both variables (source and target) has tns namespace for Header and PayloadHeader, and no namespace for subfields.

    Hi Jia Jun Ng,
    Please check type of context attribute Birthday. If it is of type String, you can change the code to
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setBirthday(new Date(0)+"");
    OR
    change the type of value attribute to Date.

    For example,
    String str = "15";
    String type = "Integer";

    getNoc( strRppsId) throws Exception {}That's not a legal Java method declaration, so it's clearly not your actual declaration, so I have no idea what your actual declaration is, so I can't tell you what you're doing wrong.
    Now I am calling this method inside my JSP page :
    DataManagerDAO dataMgr = new DataManagerDAO();
    dataMgr.getNoc(strRppsId)..
    But whenver I am running it locally , it fails to compile and gives following error msg :
    The method getNoc(String) is undefined for the type DataManagerDAOQuite obviously you're calling a method getNoc(String) but that method doesn't exist on the DataManagerDAO class. No matter how much you may think you know that it does, you're wrong and the compiler is right.
    Maybe you misspelled or mis-capitalized something. Maybe you're passing the wrong type of argument. Maybe you're still using an older version of the DataManagerDAO class from before you added that method. Not enough information here to say for sure.
    ny clue wats going wrong in here ?I assume you mean "any", not "ny" and "what's", not "wats". Clear, correct, precise communication counts with folks here almost as much as it does with the Java compiler.

  • Issue with applet reading the zero-length string values

    In my application the javascript function is setting the values read from the text fields to an applet. If the text fields are blank the javascript is setting blank value only but in the applet the values have become null. Please can any one let me know what exactly is the problem here?
    Its working fine in jdk 1.6.0 I upgraded it to 1.6.0_12 update and facing this problem.

    In the applet class its checking the same way but there i m getting the value as 'null' for the parameter set from javascript.
    But in the javascript if i try to alert the value its giving me blank i.e., zero-length string.
    When i tried to google it I found the following information,
    In JDK 1.1 the Java language specification was loose in dealing with null and zero-length strings in the class libraries. Some APIs may treat a zero-length string as null, while other APIs may treat null as it is. In Java SE, the Java language specification has been tightened up to specify what the exact behavior should be.
    This issue is not fixable. Thus, in Java SE an applet that relies on the APIs to treat null as a zero-length string may result in an exception.
    Is there anything to do with this?
    The strange thing is it working fine in 1.6.0 i mean i m getting the value of parameter as blank in applet which is same set from javascript.
    But if the same is not working in 1.6.0_12 inspite of javascript setting the blank value, the applet is reading it has 'null'.

  • New ledger Migration issue: Account contronl on G/L Accounts

    Hello
    We did the Test validation Service report for the migration. There is an error that I can't understand how to solve it.
    The purpose:
    The classification of G/L accounts for document splitting is based on the assumption that, for example, a reconciliation account is defined as such in all company codes that uses the same chart of accounts. This check is only relevant if document splitting is used.
    Issue
    You made an item category assignement for a tax account or a reconciliation account for assets, liabilities, receivables, or material stock, and selected the "override" option, which means that your setting defines the behavior of the document splitting. These types of accounts are already categorized internally. Customizing takes place at chart of accounts level. This requires identical uses of accounts in each affected company code. This is note the case in at least one of the types of accounts mentionned.
    The tables gave to us is a list of accounts. There account are present into the table T074 Special G/L Transaction.
    COA    Account     SAP Linetype     User Linetype    Override flag
    PCOG 2880 0000  03000                  03100                  X
    I can't understand how to solve this trouble, someone know the solution about it ?
    Best regards,
    Philippe

    Hi,
    Only service type PO you may assign G/L Account. For item type, you have to change item G/L account determination. It cannot be done through document.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

    Hi,
    The issue here is the mapping of the interface to the service in question, and usually points to a possible mistype or rename of something within your service architecture.
    You need to make sure your namespace and service name here match your service name itself.
    For detailed information, you could refer to:

    Hi ,
       I have a table with one of the column(EmpHiredate) datatype is char(10). It has value like "20141023". I need to display this value as date format(dd/mm/yyyy) in report.
    Following methods i tried in textbox expression but no luck.
    =Format(Fields!EmpHireDate.Value,"dd/MM/yyyy")
    =Cdate(Fields!EmpHireDate.Value)
    Error:
    [rsRuntimeErrorInExpression] The Value expression for the textrun ‘EmpHireDate.Paragraphs[0].TextRuns[0]’ contains an error: Conversion from string "20041023  " to type 'Date' is not valid.
    Is it possible to convert string to date using SSRS textbox expression ? Can anyone help me with the solution.
    Thanks,

    Hi Jmcmullen,
         Found one more issue on the same. I have one value like "00000000" for the column(EmpHiredate)
    , when i use above expression values(ex:"20141023")
    are displaying in dd/MM/yyyy format in report except value like "00000000" and giving following error:
    [rsRuntimeErrorInExpression] The Value expression for the textrun ‘EmpHireDate.Paragraphs[0].TextRuns[0]’ contains an error: Conversion from string "0000/00/00" to type 'Date' is not valid.
    Even i tried to pass its original value("00000000") as below but no luck.
    =IIF(Fields!EmpHireDate.Value = "00000000","00000000",Format(CDATE(MID(Fields!EmpHireDate.Value,1,4) + "/" + MID(Fields!EmpHireDate.Value,5,2) + "/" + MID(Fields!EmpHireDate.Value,7,2)),"dd/MM/yyyy"))
    Also tried this:
    =IIF(Fields!EmpHireDate.Value = "00000000","2000/10/21",Format(CDATE(MID(Fields!EmpHireDate.Value,1,4) + "/" + MID(Fields!EmpHireDate.Value,5,2) + "/" + MID(Fields!EmpHireDate.Value,7,2)),"dd/MM/yyyy"))
    Please Suggest.
    Thanks ,

  • MBP Retina Migration Issues

    I'm simply posting this to share my issues with the community, on the chance that it might help or reassure someone, rather than look for help myself at this point. I used the Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant to move from a Macbook Pro with Snow to a new Macbook Pro with Retina display and, of course, Lion.
    1) Original migration was going to take 255 hours over WiFi. Did very little after running for a couple of hours. There is no way once started to change the type of connection, pause, nor restart the migration. You have to cancel on the source machine, not the new machine. Then do a second time.
    2) Bought an Ethernet to USB adapter for $40 and redid through Migration Assistant. Took 3 hours of an estimated 1 hr 55 minutes. Creates a duplicate ID, which worried me. OK to simply delete the original ID. This software needs some serious work on usability.
    3) MA said it didn't migrate incompatible software, including Snapz Pro X (movie and screen cap program). Yet, when I started up there was Snapz. Deleted. I'm on the beta program for the new release, completely rewritten in cocoa. Looks like it will be great.
    4) Dropbox could not find its own folder on the MBP-R. Relink didn't fix until I re-relinked, did manually, found and "merged" folders. Related to having to use a second name when I used MA because my "name" was already used in the first attempt.
    5) Google Drive did not work. Same problem. Had to delete the Google Drive folder then recreated. Works now.
    6) Apple Track Pad does not work with Lion, quite sadly since Lion supports more gestures. I've read there is a lenghty work around but can't confirm that.
    7) Wake from sleep had some issues at first but seems improved, perhaps by latest update of Lion. Still binks and flashes, minor issue.
    8) Had continued to use Apple's Backup to store select folders on external hard drives, even after MobileMe closed. Worked great on old MBP. No longer works. Boots as trial version, then asks me to pay up for MobileMe to use, which I would if I could
    9) Icons/ desktop does not properly restore when it switches between internal display and external, Apple Thunderbolt Display, i.e. icons moved from right edge to middle of screen.
    10) Adobe CS6. Migrated CS5, then upgraded. All fine (so far) except Acrobat Pro left old icon on Dock, which instead of failing to open the old program, or opening the new one, does some peculiar copy protection routine. Had a Doh! moment before I simply deleted and replaced the icon.
    11) Using Timemachine with external RAID 5 (Pegasus R4) over Thunderbolt. Great. Tremendous speed improvement.
    12) Bluetooth device set up had lots and lots of problems. Took forever to find Mobile Mouse, Keyboard, and extrarodinarily long to find Trackpad (which, again, doesn't work when found). Did find my other MBP half way across the house -- immediately. Had to try repeatedly. Once I got them set up, though, they work -- except for the Trackpad.
    13) Lastinly, you'll notice this form itself doesn't even include Lion / 10.8 yet. Same problem happens in many places on Apple.com Sigh.
    Good luck and enjoy the great new computer!

    14) iMovie problems. Apparently, prefs cause long movies to fail to save. There is an update, but the process doesn't work. Asks to a different Apple ID even when not needed.
    By the way, here is the WiFi transfer time:

  • The type initializer for 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection' threw an exception. InnerException: Requested registry access is not allowed.

    I have read some of the other posts for people that got this error, but none seem to apply to me.
    My program has been working for weeks.  I made some minor changes, and started getting the error (full details below).
    I did a TFS "undo pending changes" and still getting the same error, even after logging off.  The one odd thing is that I did change my Windows password this week. The connection string is using a SQL user id and password that has no issues.
    I'm an Admin own my own box (running WIn XP SP3).  I even tried "Run as Admin" on Visual Studio.
    I'm doing a Debug-Start, running a Console-Test-Program that calls a WCF service, which on local machine is hosted by "ASP.NET Development Server".
    We have two other developers, one has the same problem, one does not.  In theory, we have all done "get latest" and are running the same code.
    The SQL Connection is related to a trace database; we are using this library http://ukadcdiagnostics.codeplex.com which has worked fine for months.
    When I do "Start Run" in Visual Studio, I get this error:
    {"The type initializer for 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection' threw an exception. "}
    with InnerException: {"The type initializer for 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnectionFactory' threw an exception."}
    and it has InnerException: {"Requested registry access is not allowed. "}

    Thanks for any help.
    Neal

    I think I found it... this is sure a strange error for what is really happening.
    Apparently it had happened to me before, and fortuantely, I actually added the following comment:
                // Above is related to the WCFLOG SQL Diagnostics Trace
                // If you get error here an inner exception "requested registry access is not allowed"
                // inside exception "type initializer for System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection"
                // then make sure you have impersonation enabled in your client.
                // See AdminConsole web.config or FRB.EC.AdminService.ConsoleTester.app.config for examples
    Now I think I will do a try catch and spit out the same text.
    Still testing to assure that this really was the issue.
          <endpointBehaviors>
            <behavior name="FRB.AllowImpersonate ">
              <clientCredentials>
                <windows allowedImpersonationLevel="Impersonation"/>
              </clientCredentials>
            </behavior>
          </endpointBehaviors>
    The line below in BOLD below is what somehow seemed to disappear from my app.config - probably due to a TFS human error - still checking that also:
            <client>
                  <endpoint address="http://localhost:4998/AdminService.svc"
                                  behaviorConfiguration="FRB.AllowImpersonate"
                                  binding="wsHttpBinding"
                                  bindingConfiguration="WSHttpBinding_IAdminService"
                                 contract="svcRef.IAdminService"
                            name="WSHttpBinding_IAdminService">
                        <identity>
                              <dns value="localhost" />
                        </identity>
                  </endpoint>
            </client>
    Here's how I "idiot-proofed" this error for now, to give an error that actually at least points to a solution:
            public SqlDataAccessCommand(string connectionString, string commandText, CommandType commandType)
                try

                    // then make sure you have impersonation enabled in your client.
                    // See AdminConsole web.config or FRB.EC.AdminService.ConsoleTester.app.config for examples
                catch (Exception ex)
                    if (ex.ToString().Contains("The type initializer for"))

  • 10.1.3 Production - Strange migration issues with OC4J

    Hi,
    first of all my congrats on another great release of my favorite Java IDE. Bad thing is I can't enjoy it as much as I want currently because of the following issue:
    I'm working on a large project based on Struts, Tiles and Spring. The thing was born under 9.0.3 and happily survived several migrations since. It is running perfectly in 10.1.3 EA (OC4J and Tomcat 5.5). So I didn't expect any issues when switching to the production release. As I expected, everything worked without any errors. Fine. But then, when expectingly starting it in OC4J, things suddenly looked a bit different, for the login page came up somewhat naked. In fact, that is no wonder, as the app didn't find its CSS files, images, whatever. I import those resources (JSP 2.0) via the follówing line:
    ${pageContext.request.contextPath}/path_to_css.css
    As it turned out, the pageContext thing wasn't resolved and so contextPath stays blank. Furthermore, the JSPs generated can't get access to session objects via expression language (eg. ${myBean.myAttribute}. JSTL <fmt:>, on the other hand, works wonderfully. Now for the odd part: if I change the JSP while the app is running and
    then hit 'reload' to get it recompiled, the problem is gone. Looking at the .jsps sources, JDev generates something quite different from what OC4J does (the latter is the working version). I've spend the whole day now trying to find out why, including two fresh installs and setting up a test project, for I expected Tiles to be the culprit, but it's not; in fact, the issue also happens with a no-frills JSP page. Now I'm rather at the end of my knowledge. Has anyone had similar problems or knows how to resolve this issue? Any hint would be deeply appreciated :-)
    -- Chris.
    NB. My version is 10.1.3 J2EE (not Studio); I tried both the base one and later the complete version which comes with its own JDK.

    Alas, talking to myself is fun, so I'll proceed. Today, I set up another simple test project (Servlets 2.4/JSP 2.0) with a JSP that just issues the following:
    Context path: ${pageContext.request.contextPath}
    Upon comparing what gets generated, I noticed the following differences:
    1. What JDev generates and what does not work correctly:
    javax.servlet.jsp.el.VariableResolver __ojsp_varRes = (VariableResolver)new OracleVariableResolverImpl(pageContext);
    try {
    out.write(__oracle_jsp_text[0]);
    out.write(__oracle_jsp_text[1]);
    catch( Throwable e) { .. }
    2. The same fragment recompiled in OC4J:
    javax.servlet.jsp.el.VariableResolver __ojsp_varRes = (VariableResolver)new OracleVariableResolverImpl(pageContext);
    com.evermind.server.http.JspCommonExtraWriter __ojsp_s_out = (com.evermind.server.http.JspCommonExtraWriter) out;
    try {
    __ojsp_s_out.write(__oracle_jsp_text[0]);
    out.write( (java.lang.String)oracle.jsp.runtime.OracleJspRuntime.evaluate("${pageContext.request.contextPath}",java.lang.String.class, __ojsp_varRes, null));
    __ojsp_s_out.write(__oracle_jsp_text[1]);
    catch( Throwable e) { .. }
    As you can see, only the latter version contains code to evaluate the EL expression (the italic parts) at all! How on earth does this come from? Is there any switch in JDev to explicitly tell it to generate 2.0-compliant, EL-aware stuff apart from specifying 2.4 in the wizard?

  • Countdown Timer Error Msg: "Warning: 1090: Migration issue"

    Hey folks,
    New to Flash here (using CS3), trying to create a countdown
    timer.
    Following is the error message I receive when trying to test
    the
    movie:
    "Warning: 1090: Migration issue: The onEnterFrame is not
    triggered
    automatically by Flash Player at run time in ActionScript
    3.0. You
    must first register this handler for the event using
    addEventListener
    ( 'enterFrame', callback_handler).
    Does anyone know what this means? And please "dumb it down"
    for this newbie. :)
    Following is the actionscript I'm using:
    this.onEnterFrame = function() {
    var today:Date = new Date();
    var currentYear = today.getFullYear();
    var currentTime = today.getTime();
    var targetDate:Date = new Date(2007,5,10);
    var targetTime = targetDate.getTime();
    var timeLeft = targetTime - currentTime;
    var sec = Math.floor(timeLeft/1000);
    var min = Math.floor(sec/60);
    var hrs = Math.floor(min/60);
    var days = Math.floor(hrs/24);
    sec = String(sec % 60);
    if (sec.length < 2) {
    sec = "0" + sec;
    min = String(min % 60);
    if (min.length < 2) {
    min = "0" + min;
    hrs = String(hrs % 24);
    if (hrs.length < 2) {
    hrs = "0" + hrs;
    days = String(days);
    var counter:String = days + ":" + hrs + ":" + min + ":" +
    sec;
    time_txt.text = counter;
    Thanks in advance!!!

    It just means that you can't do things the "old" way. You
    have to use the
    AS3 event model, like so:
    this.addEventListener("enterFrame", enterFrameHandler);
    function enterFrameHandler(evt:Event) {
    var today:Date = new Date();
    var currentYear = today.getFullYear();
    var currentTime = today.getTime();
    var targetDate:Date = new Date(2007,5,10);
    var targetTime = targetDate.getTime();
    var timeLeft = targetTime - currentTime;
    var sec = Math.floor(timeLeft/1000);
    var min = Math.floor(sec/60);
    var hrs = Math.floor(min/60);
    var days = Math.floor(hrs/24);
    sec = String(sec % 60);
    if (sec.length < 2) {
    sec = "0" + sec;
    min = String(min % 60);
    if (min.length < 2) {
    min = "0" + min;
    hrs = String(hrs % 24);
    if (hrs.length < 2) {
    hrs = "0" + hrs;
    days = String(days);
    var counter:String = days + ":" + hrs + ":" + min + ":" +
    sec;
    time_txt.text = counter;

  • The type Comparable is not generic; it cannot be parameterized

    I´ve some third party sourcecode which i had to customize. I imported the code into eclipse (ganymede). The project is using a 1.5 SDK. There is some source file which shows the following error just in line 0:
    Description     Resource     Path     Location     Type
    The type Comparable is not generic; it cannot be parameterized with arguments <E>     ContentTransferComponent.java     LEMI_WEB/webcomponent/src/com/documentum/webcomponent/library/contenttransfer     line 0     Java Problem
    By copying the methods into a new class, i was able to track down the problem to the inner interface definition. Removing the inner interface removes the error from the class. However as the interface is implemented by two other classes from the same package, this isn´t really a solution.
    Is this some kind of source code error or maybe i would better have reported this issue into some of the eclipse forums?

These two statements make me wonder if you understand that Eclipse uses it's own compiler, not the Sun SDK, and that the JRE used to run Eclipse in, the JRE used to launch your projects in, and the version of the compiler, are all separately configurable, sometimes with unusual results. It's possible to set it up so that, for example, it's compiling code for 1.5 against 1.4 class libraries. Of course, I could be barking up the wrong tree, but this is something to checkWell, it's possible to do that with javac, too, just, there, it's much easier to notice that you're doing it (since you would have to type it in explicitly). ;-)You can make javac run itself in a different JRE?? :-)
