Migration of costs & revenues of open projects

Dear All,
I am new to CO & migrating the costs & revenues of open projects from old SAP system to new SAP system.
For costs & revenues of open WBSs/Network activities, we have three programs:
1. primary costs extraction & upload
2. secondary costs extraction & upload
3. revenue data extraction & upload
For primary costs, i am referring to table COSP and secondary costs COSS.
Incase of secondary costs, i am not sure what all the values i should consider
In COSS - i have cost center allocations - which need to be migrated through KB21N, with total qty & UOM
and also i have network activities settlements...do i need to consider this as well to get the value matching with WBS value in CJI3.
If yes, how do i migrate the network settlements? definetly not through KB21N.
Kindly clarify as i am not able proceed further on this.

When you say migrating from old SAP system to new SAP system, do you mean, you are in a upgrade project? If it is an upgrade project, you need worry to transfer data. The technical upgrade would address the need of data migration.
If it is entirely a new different system and you are planning total re-engineering, you may only want to post primary costs and redo the allocations and settlments.

Cost / Revenue for Project Role Types

Dear All,
I need your suggestion on cost / revenue rate for multiple project roles type of the project elements. I am defining various project roles such as account manager / project manager / Team leader / Team members etc. which will be assigned to project. There will be different cost / revenue hourly rate for each role type. I have defined hourly cost / revenue rate for organisation management. But i oberved that hourly rate is getting copied to all type of role in project & the same is update as planned cost.
Request you to suggest how to mainatin different hourly rate for various project roles in side project.

Make sure you have done following settings
SPRO>Collaboration Projects >Connection to External Systems>Accounting Integration>Define Cost/Revenue Rates
here you define Cost revenue rates
Now i feel you have assigned these rates in define Task types in SPRO>Cproj>structure>define task types
in this case it ll take same cost revenue rates.
you remove these
and in SPRO >Collaboration Projects > Resource Management>Basic Settings for Project Roles> Role types
assign the rates.
clear the browser Cache, cookies.
Make sure you log off and then try to create new Project with the settings
It shd help.

C project error in cost/revenue rates

I am facing problem in c project costing,
When i try for calulate costing.
I get the cost revenue rates screen.but in that screen revenue rates are not comes that field come blank.and cost of the resoure are come negative form.
e.g. 560- in such fasion cost disply
I am unbale to trace this error. please help for same .

Evaluation - Cost/Revenue Costing for Project

Hello,
executing the evaluation "Cost/Revenue Costing for Project" I get no results. Could someone tell me where the values for this report come from? Can I find somewhere a list with all the evaluations (except the one like completed checkpoint items, ... which are really self explaining) and the source of the shown values?

Hi,
I hope that you have assigned Cost revenue rate to Roles.
Check in spro> cProjects> Evaluation--> Define extract layout, Iterator for the specific layout RES_PART, Object and attributes.
Also check in Define evaluation assigned extract layout to Evaluation is correct which is defined in earlier step.

Open Project in PE9 takes a long time

Does anyone know why PE9 project files can take 10-15 minutes to load?
I have a 4 minute video I'm half way through editing. Every time i open my project it quickly shows 100% on the open project progress bar, but this can take 10-15 minutes to disappear and let me get to my files.
Any ideas?

PE9 doesn't seem to allow using removable media to store clips or project files, so that's not an option I can consider as an alternative.
In the case of a networked (academic environment in your case), it is not a limitation of PrE 9, but of the setup of the computers.
Networks, of various configurations, can be a real challenge, in, and of themselves.
I migrate Projects in PrE 4, with externals, just as I do with PrE 11 (do not have PrE 9), with no issues. The trick is to set the external to the same Drive Letter, in the OS of each computer, so that it is seen as, say X:\ in each machine's OS. Works like a charm. However, you likely do not have full Administrator permissions/privileges on the computer, so no ability to set up Drive Letters, etc..

JDeveloper 11.1.2.3 hangs when opening project from JDeveloper 11.1.1.6

Hello! I have a problem here which I can't solve. I also asked this question here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14365031/jdeveloper-11-1-2-3-hangs-when-opening-project-from-jdeveloper-11-1-1-6/14369211#14369211 . The whole story in short. I have a JavaEE client-server project in JDeveloper 11.1.1.6, where it works like a charm. Recently I had to upgrade JDeveloper version to the latest 11.1.2.3. The first problem was that the standard procedure of migrating project from the older version of JDeveloper to the newer one did not help: IDE was hanging forever all the time with no apparent (for me) reason, log file was silent about that. Then I tried another way: I just created the same project from the beginning and put there all necessary source files, libraries, set project properties etc. Still nothing, but now found the way to obtain a kind of error at least. I ran C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\jdev\bin\jdev.exe from the command line and got the following (e.g. when I started running debug):

Revenue Recognition in Project System

Hello All,
At my current client, they are using the Project System (i.e. WBS) only for Cost and Revenue collection. POC,RA,Milestone billing,Network, Activities are out of scope. Keeping the above thing in mind, I need to know how I do the Revenue recognition thru WBS.
Mu understanding is that If I assign a WBS element on a Sales Order line item, as an account assignment it should collect the Revenue. The only requiremnt should be that WBS should be a billing element and Cost/Revenue profile should carry SD relevant settings. Once the billing is done and invoicing is done, the Revenue should appear against the WBS on running the report S_ALR_87013563/64/65/66.
Please let me know if this will work or do I need to do some more configuration from PS perspective.

Hi Sarang,
1. Mark WBS as billing element.
2. Assign the sales order line item to the WBS in point 1 or any WBS below that in the hierarchy.
3. Create a billing plan for the sales order line item.
4. The billing plan amount would appear as planned revenue against the WBS element (provided no credit hold useVKM3 to release).
5. Once the line item has been billed ie. Billing document has been created using VF01 or VF04, the Actual revenue would appear against the WBS element.
In terms of Config:
Creat a planning profile that allows Automatic Revenue planning form Sales Order (tcode: OPSB)
Ensure that the planning profile is attached to your project profile (Controlling tab) (tcode:OPSA).

Cost status report in Project Workspace of Commercial Project Management

Is it possible to view planned cost of Easy Cost Plan version of a PS Project in Project Workspace (Commercial Project Management)? We have installed only Project Work space and not Project Financial Planning.
Is there a possibility to link Easy cost plan to master project in CPM? As we have not installed PFP, we cannot configure ' Define Plan scenarios, plan types, version types' under Project Cost and Revenue Planning in SPRO.

I wouldn't think you would be able to use PowerShell as that is more concerned with administration. However, you could probably use SQL to get at the data - the tables are defined in the SDK - http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=30435

Migrating Security In Oracle BI 11g - Project Amelia

We'd like to introduce an open source project that assists with the migration of basic security from an OBI 11g (FMW) source environment to a target environment. The project generates a WLST script that executes a security artifact migration process. It is also great for creating an inventory of application roles and principal assignments that can be used in project documentation.
This is a perfect tool for upgrades from OBI 10g to OBI 11g.
Advanced users should have no problem testing and running the solution. Please provide feedback or potentially consider contributing to the project.

Table for Settlement Cost(CJI3) for a project

Hi All,
I have a requirement to develop a report for a project, in that i got a req. to find out the settlement cost for a project.
we have standard report CJI3 to find the settel cost for a project but I am unable to debug the program as it use logical databases(PSJ).
Please advise me and let me know any table or Function module exists for same.

The table /s you are looking for could be one of these;
RPSCO Project info database: Costs, Revenues, Finances
COSP: Cost Object: Cost totals for external postings
COSS: Cost totals for internal postings
COSB:Total variances
COBK:Document header
COEP: Line items
You may need more than one table to meet your requirements.

Error to replicate cost/revenue rates

Hi,
Error regarding replicate cost/revenue rate .
We use PLM Dev server and gives RFC R/3 100 Dev and R/3 410 Quality server.
We use Project suit 4.0 and ecc 6.0 versions
We are tried to make account integrations between c project and R/3system
When we try to replicate cost/revenue rate
Form PLM Dev to R/3 Dev 410 it works fine (but Quality server is not modifiable)
So I try to do same PLM Dev to R/3 100 Dev it gives error
Function Module DPR_REPLICATE_RATES Not found
I check function module in R/3 100 Dev and 410 Quality it is present in the both client.
But when I check it in PLM Dev 100 it shows function group DPR_CALC does not exits.
Then what is exact problem? Please help for same, if problem in PLM dev 100 then how it transfer cost /revenue rate to R/3 410 and not for R/3 100 Dev.
We check RFC CONNECTION IT WORK FINE

Hi.
This is difficult to answer without seeing the system. I just can guess:
- An easy thing would be that the function module just isn't activated. You go to transaction SE37 in PROD and look it up.
- If you cannot find the function module it might have been lost in a transport. You check the object catalog entry of the function module: R3TR FUGR DPR_CALC first. You go to transaction SE03 and check in DEV and Q if the object is in a request or task and look up its status there.
By the way: The function module is part of cProjects. Has it been implemented in your PROD already?

Cost / Revenue rate for resources - cProjects 4.0

Having done the required accounting configurations, I get to see the the cost and revenue rate at the cProjects front end, defined (configured) in the system. I am also able to overwrite the system configured values and have my own. However, when I save, the system throws an error message - 'Cost / Revenue rate not defined for role / resource.'.
Where could I be going wrong??

collabration project-
      --Connection to External System
          --Account Integration
            --Define Cost/Revenue rate
              --Replicate Cost/Revenue rate
                --Replicate Accounting-Relevant charac.
                  --Make setting in the ERP system
Do this configuration setting
This will definetly solve u r problem.

Open project was canceled or RoboHelp was unable to load database

I have Robohelp 2002r2 and am creating Robohelp HTML help.
The project was ok yesterday but today when I try to open it I get
the error message "Open project was canceled or RoboHelp was unable
to load database". I tried the solutions in the knowledgebase
(rb_3245) but still no luck. I can't even create a new project
either or I get the same message. Anybody know what to
do????

Welcome to the forum.
The message is usually easily dealt with. I haven't checked
the article as you didn't include a link but I'm guessing it
involved deleting a couple of files and then using the HHP file to
open the project.
What is more worrying is that you cannot create a new
project.
Have you tried opening one of the supplied sample files?
Are your projects stored locally and not on a network?
Have IT given you a new profile to log on with?
Has anything else changed in your environment?

Unable to Open Project from a Networked computer

Hi All
We have just recently installed Robohelp V6 on a computer in
the office and after making sure that RoboSource is connected and
visible, I have come to my desktop machine and made sure that
1. I could connect to the Robohelp "Server"
2. that I could map to the drive that the project file
resided
3. that I could ping the "server" computer
All appears to be fine, except that when I try to open the
Project file from the "MAPPED" drive, I get the following error
msg:
"OPEN PROJECT WAS CANCELLED OR THE APPLICATION WAS UNABLE TO
LOAD THE DATABASE FOR: T:\Content\Grail2Aug07Help.cpd"
It is the Project file
grail2aug07help.xpj that I am trying to open.
The project WAS currently opened and in use my another person
on the "server" computer, so I wonder if this is the reason for the
message.??? If I cannot get the project opened. how do I then make
sure that files that I want to alter are "Checked In/Out" by me and
are also seen, by other users as being CHECKED OUT...??
PLEASE HELP..!!

Your project should live on a local drive (e.g., the My
Documents folder on your PC). Version control can live on a mapped
(i.e., network) drive.
