Missing apps within creative cloud manager

Hello,
I decided to remove Dreamweaver CS6 as I use Dreamweaver CC, and now when I open creative cloud the 'Home' tab shows what's installed but the 'Apps' tab is empty and displays a 'download error' but no code and yet does say contact customer support. A blue button with 'Download Creative Cloud' is offered, so click and download the software, install, reboot and still the same. All applications will open via LaunchPad, if that helps?
I must rightly assume something was deleted when it shouldn't but what do i do now?
Lee

I have a solution a quick search works wonder.
I use adobe's creative cloud cleaning tool (didn't know it existed) to get rid the Mac of all adobe products, rebooted, and then ran creative cloud installer and viola, all is working as it should

  • Missing Apps in Creative Cloud?

I don't seem to have all the apps available for download that are supposed to come with my Complete Creative Cloud version - I'm missing Lightroom, Premiere Elements, Edge, After Effects, Speedgrade, and Encore. None of these show up either online or in Adobe Application Manager. What am I missing?

Unfortunately, Adobe has made the baffling decision to simply hide download links for apps if the computer viewing the web page does not meet the tech specs for the app.
Repeated requests have been made to Adobe to add a simple note to the Cloud home page explaining this in order to avoid user confusion and unnecessary forum posts.

To date, those requests have unfortunately been ignored.

  • Creative Cloud management app failed to install, again, remedy, clue

It failed yet again today for me, but in a particular way, and thereby gave a clue at least of one probably unknown failure mode which I can pass on.
    - I was trying to install the very latest Creative Cloud manager, which self-announced itself today 12 February 2014 when I tried to use it to check for updated applications.
    - it downloaded and started to run, then failed with the very clever 'failed to install' small alert. A small alert for very small knowledge of the actual cause? Surely you can do better.
    - I went on the forums and found all the times and ways this has caught up others before. I saw the 'rename OOBE folder' trick, and remembered that thus was the only thing that would actually fix the Creative Cloud manager one or more times before on my computers.
    - thus I tried to rename OOBE after killing every Adobe-named app in the Windows 8.1 Task Manager, and failed -- due to some nameless program holding it open.
    - I then stopped and restarted the machine.
    - I thought a moment and realized I'd run another Adobe installer an hour or two before, to updated Premiere Elements 11 to the latest possible Adobe Camera Raw as its updater offered.
    - thus instead of renaming OOBE, I ran the Adobe Creative Cloud manager updater when it offered again towards the end of booting up
    - this time it succeeded, hence I believe that other Adobe ACR installer had been at fault, leaving files unclosed or otherwise locked within OOBE. That's the new clue to Adobe developers.
    - If this hadn't succeeded, I'd have stopped and restarted the machine again, and then renamed C:\Program Files(x86)/Common/Adobe/OOBE.
I think this renaming is a lot better way to proceed (stop/start, adding possibly safe boot with no startup apps if OOBE remains locked to renaming when that method may be needed) than using the AdobeCreativeCloudCleanup tool as the troubleshooting page recomnmends.
The reason: this benighted cleanup tool does _not_ offer any way to remove Creatuive Cloud manager itself, even though support here suggests that it does. You can only choose variations which insist on uninstalling all your Adobe programs, CS6 included with Creative Cloud ones. I am not going to do that except at extreme duress. So far renaming OOBE and thus forcing Creative Cloud to recreate it has fixed every one of the blind, unspecific, and prevalent errors with Creative Cloud.
I think that much better work can be done on this Creative Cloud software, but I am constrained by a particular American folk tale told to children, which suggests 'If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything.'
I can only say that respect will be gained not by talk, or telling a lot of complicated procedures to recover software that costs like an automobile.
Respect will only be gained by really involving yourself, learning, and then doing all of this correctly. That's what every respected software developer in the world does.

Jeff, thanks equally for coming back on this.
    - I did begin the process on the page you linked.
    - when I got to the step running the CC Cleaner tool, it offered me no option to remove the Creative Cloud Manager -- only to remove all my apps, which are largely CS6. This is counter to the suggestion that you can remove just the manager, and not welcome as you will understand.
    - it was at this point that I recovered the procedure of just shifting OOBE out of play. When this wasn't possible due to invisibly held open folders or files, I realized the problem might have been due to the earlier Premiere 11 ACR update (you have to think a bit for reasons why it might want to do that...).
    - Thus when I stopped and restarted to assure a clean reboot, I thought to just let the Creative Cloud Manager try again when it offered this.
    - Without further intercession, this time the Creative Cloud Manager succeeded.
I would say that the move-OOBE-out-of-play to force recreate (or sometimes it has been move a certain file in OOBE) is a much preferred repair that has always worked for me in the numerous failures of Creative Cloud Manager over the last year. We don't really want to spend the hours and take the risk of removing all our Adobe CS and/or CC applications, plus adding all of their updates again, as you will also understand.
This points to a way Adobe could very much lower the agony of the Creative Cloud Manager, its updates and its crossed wires. I do appreciate the problem, though not why at your budget levels it hasn't had a definitive response. Some experience directing projects and having to take over offshore team management directly might suggest where you are finding the difficulty, at least.
In the mean time, why not put in place a recovery for failed Creative Cloud Manager activities including updates, which would simply and automatically do the task of accurately renaming the OOBE folder (for each attempt, no matter how many times  it had been done before)j, then triggering a restart followed by reinstall and information recovery of the Creative Cloud Manager? It could be something like Microsoft's Fix-Its, for convenience, which would also leave open a doorway to reversal if somehow necessary.
I suggest you might lower the incidence of this genre of problems by a very large factor if you were to do so, replacing the presently procedure with its flaws for those employing Adobe software.
Anyway, I hope the suggestion leads in positive ways for your products, and wish your team a good day.

  • My new apps have changed to try within creative cloud; and my installed apps will not authenticate.  I recently canceled one subscription and replaced it with another.

My new apps have changed to try within creative cloud; and my installed apps will not authenticate.  I recently canceled one subscription and replaced it with another.  Can you please look at it and correct?

Solution for Windows 8.1: Locate the C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE folder.  Log out of Creative Cloud and from Task Manager end task for Creative Cloud.  From the OOBE folder delete ALL files.  Do not delete folders (com.adobe.accc.apps & com.adobe.accc.home).  When complete, restart Creative Cloud and log in with ID and Password.

  • Creative Cloud Manager - Download Error - cannot update apps

This is an ongoing issue for me.  Whether it's AAM or the new CCM, when I attempt to access apps and updates I receive a Download Error message (see pic) which will not allow me to update or download apps.
After experiencing this with the AAM in May, Adobe support provided me with a work around which amounted to creating a new user on my machine and installing the AAM for that user.  I was then able to update the apps I'd installed previously and install two more apps on my machine.
Now I'm experiencing this issue again - still for the default user on my machine and now for the new fake user I created per Adobe support's instructions.
I'm using Windows 8, Google Chrome browser (I can't update the apps through Adobe, either).
I'd love to get a handle on this issue and get it corrected once and for all and, hopefully, without having to create another 'ghost' user so I can update and install apps.
    Thanks.

For my particular issue I finally found a discussion from another user who was experiencing what seemed to be a similar problem.  I'm not sure why the AAMUdater folder is wreaking such havoc for some people but not for others.  'Tis a mystery.
I had to unhide the appdata folder (I'm in windows 8):
    Windows key + R
    Type in 'explorer'
    Click on 'View' tab
Tick box next to 'hidden' to unhide
Then I was able to find the AAMUpdater folder:
    users/myname/appdata/local/Adobe/AAMUpdate.
I renamed the AAMUpdater folder to oldAAMUpdater (just to make sure this was the issue) and et voila!  Success.  I could open the Creative Cloud Manager and update existing apps and download new apps.
Thank you, David, for your suggestion.  Since I wasn't having a server error I didn't think that fix would pertain to my issue of the anonymous download error.

I have the same problem. New CC subscription. After crashing trying to open a CS6 file. Premiere Pro will not launch. I have updated video drivers and Quick Time player. • Apps tab in Creative Cloud manager is blank

I'm trying to download a free trial of After Effects. I have downloaded the Creative Cloud manager for my desktop, but the Apps tab remains blank with a spinning wheel. The other tabs all show their appropriate options, but the Apps tab shows nothing. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Creative Cloud, but no luck. Is there perhaps a way to download AE without using the desktop manager?

Mkpanars for information on how to resolve the current error please see App doesn’t open | Progress wheel spins continually.

  • New CC apps from Creative Cloud

I just watched a new webinar from Terry White announcing the new branding and 15 new apps for Creative Cloud members. I'm an early subscriber and he mentioned cheaper rates than I'm paying? This upsets me because I thought early subscribers got the lower prices?
Also announced were new apps like Muse CC, Photoshop CC and more. How do these new apps affect my updates and functionality in Muse 2.0 which I update regularly to access the latest features? Are these apps touch apps for tablet development versus laptop or desktop development?
    Please advise me.
    LN Vaillancourt

    thebobwolf,
As soon as the new applications are made available ,you will have the same populated in your Application Manager . You can simply download them and there will be no need for any changes in your subscription plans at all.

  • Should Lightroom be shown in the list of apps on Creative Cloud?

    Hi
Should Lightroom be showing in the list of my apps on creative cloud on my Mac?
I am sure it used to be there, but perhaps I am mistaken.
    All I have listed are
    Thank you for you help

CC seems to be very odd about Lightroom.  The CC subscription (and the PS-CC subscription) includes LR, and it sometimes shows up in the list of apps.  However, if you have installed it or updated it other than through CC (i.e., installed the direct download, installed a beta version, or updated from within LR), CC seems not to recognize it as being either installed or available.  In some such cases, LR installs without problems, taking your CC credentials.  In other cases, LR says it's only a trial and asks for a serial number.  You may need to uninstall LR, close down CC (logging out), and then delete the opm.db file from the directory C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE.  You can't find this file with a search, and the directory is hidden, so you may have to type it out.  Once you have deleted opm.db, you can restart cc and it will scan for installed apps and (presumably) display the proper information.
