Missing features in OS2 Email client

There are two glaringly missing features in the slick OS2 E-mail client.
First, and most annoying when starting up with OS2, there is no "mark all as read" option.
This matters when adding a new but exisitng account, as we are all doing now.
Second, there is no "include me in all replies" option.
This matters when you are reading email on more than one platform, as in, your
desktop normally and your Playbook when travelling.  I need a copy of my replies
made on the Playbook sent to my email account.

A copy of the replies sent from PB are VERY much needed!!!

  • Bug in OS2 Email client

    The new OS2 email client is pretty slick and works well.
    However, it has a number of small bugs and quirks that need addressing.
    First, when you delete a message, the browser correctly moves on to open the next message.
    However, if the next one is a new message, no matter how long you view it, it never gets marked as read.
    You have to open another message, and then go back and hand-open it again.

    it also has some issue to get emails.
    I am not sure which type of email. it sometimes does not receive some emails which I can still view on browser.

  • Missing Features: Cut/Paste, Email Attachments....

    Sadly I have noticed that my iPhone will not allow me to add an attachment to an email, even when that attachment is a photo that was created using the iPhone camera. Sure, I know I can email a photo from "Photos", but what about when you want to use one of those photos in a reply to an Email.
    Also, no Cut/Copy and Paste feature? This is a basic feature present in all PDA phones. This needs to be dealt with quickly.
    Other than those two concerns about basic features that are missing, I am loving my iPhone.

    No cut & paste is my deal-killer. If I can't maintain lists on my iPhone & freely/easily re-org them at will, it's no good to me as a smartphone. Guess I'm getting a (bleah) Treo with it's tiny screen.
    If they gave us a drag-able checklist like Apple's insanely great Notes & collapsible checklist/outliner feature from the Newton (see <<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Newton#Notes">this>) then I'd be happy.
    We presume someday you'll be able to request stuff like this via

  • Alternative email client

    I am looking for an alternative email client that has more business features than Apple Mail (I.e. out if office reply etc). Does anyone have any suggestions?

    You can set up a rule in Mail to respond to incoming emails. You could also customize it so it would only respond to certain senders or other criteria.
    However,
    An out of office reply feature on an email client is a bad idea as it can easily get into an infinite loop when your out of office reply replies to another out of office reply.
    I imagine it could be programmed to behave appropriately to account for all possibilities.
    The other issue with client-based OOO replies is the client has to be running and receiving emails in order to respond to them. The server will always get the emails and can thus respond appropriately.
    You can set an OOO reply in iCloud using the Web interface. Your email hosting service might be able to do the same.
    Regardless, Mail is a very basic email client. There are some add-ons that can add features like tagging.

  • Email client problems. Emails stored in my saved folders are missing? What gives?

    I've lost all my "saved" emails in my folders?! (Mac email client) The folders are there, the contents are gone!

    I would also like to know about the company directory question.
    Is it just really well hidden, or actually not present.
    If not present, when will i be available?
    In general, I'm also missing a feature to enable a full sync/indexing localy on the phone.
    Todays phones has tonns of memory and CPU power, and for the user to have the phone look up the calling party directly is verry time saving. Also being able to quickly identify missed and/or placed calls is verry usefull.

  • Email Client Missing Issue in Reader XI

    Whenever I open a document in Reader (both X and XI) I get the email client missing error message window which I have to then close.  I googled this error and have looked in the Adobe questions for this.  What little I found was of no help.  I don't use an email client (in use gmail) and I don't want any email being used for Reader.  When I go to Edit/Preferences/email accounts I find that I can add an email address, etc.; but I can't delete the Outlook email item as when I select it the 'delete' box is greyed out ... so unavailable.  My question is this:  How do I stop the email client error message from appearing?
    Thanks in advance for your assistance!

    In Preferences | Email Accounts, specify a Webmail / Gmail address and make it the default.

  • How to change the email client for the 'Review' features.  Acrobat Pro X

    Acrobat Pro X (10.1.2) was installed on a system that used Lotus Notes (v8.5) email client, all was well.  The system was then upgraded to MS Outlook 2010, so Outlook is now the email client on system.  While reading a PDF document an email address can be double clicked and a new Outlook message is started.  Problem is on the Comment toolbar the features under Review will still prompt for a Lotus Notes password.   Seems Acrobat is still wanting to email ‘reviews’ using Notes.  Finding no Option to change here and GOOGLing at this to no avail am posting here.
    A registry tweak or some INI file to change here?  Any help please.  My fallback plan is to remove and re-install Acrobat Pro.

    Try making sure your default email program is set under Edit > Preferences > Internet category > Internet Settings ...Programs tab in Acrobat.
    You can also try doing a Help > Repair Acrobat installation since you installed Outlook after installing Acrobat.

  • Email client missing

    Hey in my nokia there was an inbuilt email client.....
    Now it has dissapeared i think because i updated it....now i want it back....pls any one help me...

    Have you checked via Nokia Suite that you have the latest firmware installed? If there is an update, please update to that. Failing that, please re-install your current firmware, and if that doesn't work, then Restore your phone to factory settings. Failing that, you will need to take your phone to your local Nokia Care point for them to inspect.

  • Cannot enable Entourage as default email client in SL

    Help, this is driving me bonkers! I want to use MS Entourage as my default email client and I set it as the default program via "preferences' in Mail.app, however, every time I try to email a document via Preview it opens Mail.app. Same goes for when I try to send anything using the 'Mail PDF' option in the print dialog. I've recently been forced to move to a Mac as my PC died and I inherited my wife's old MacBook and so far her claims of 'it just works' are not sitting well with me! Please help, this is just so frustrating. Thanks.

    Starting with Entourage 2008, you can set Entourage as the default in Preferences > General.
    You can also use one of the freeware applications to change default applications.
    I like to use IC Switch. It places an icon in the menu bar so I can easily toggle between default applications for web browsers, mail clients. ftp etc.

  • Email client problem with 11.0.3

    I recently upgraded to Reader 11.0.3 and evertime I lauch the application I get an error message along the lines: "This application has failed to start because GAPI32.dll was not found.  Re-intalling the application may fix this problem", followed by "Either there is no default email client or the current mail client cannot fulfil the messaging request.  Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
    I am running Windows XP SP3 with Outlook 2000 as the default mail client and have gone through the MS fix for missing GAPI32.  The point is, I DO NOT want Reader to email anything for me at any time.  I prefer to go into Outlook, prepare an email and attach a PDF.   Reader works okay but I am getting pretty cheesed off with having to OK the two error boxes everytime I open a PDF.
    Can I just remove the email facility from Reader?   In Edit|Preferences Email Accounts, I get "Default Mail Application (Microsoft Outlook)" but the delete button is greyed out.

    Timcarson1 in general the error message you received is accurate.  Have you tried applying the update under a local administrator account to see if you face the same difficulty?  If not then please work with your computer department to allow this test to occur.

  • Missing Features, Bugs, and Wish List for Apple Engineers

    I LOVE my iPhone. It is by far the best phone I have ever had. The interface is awesome. Great job Apple, but there are missing features and bugs that all of us want updated or wish were added. I know they were probably already thought of by Apple, but in an effort to make the phone perfect removed to make it more stable. Now that it is out lets make it perfect.
    This thread will hopefully give you guys guidance from the early adopters who share your love for the phone (and others who want to chime in). I want to separate the list into a few categories and hope everyone will add to this thread with their ideas:
    1) BUGS/CHANGES TO EXISTING APPS:
    - Period should be in alphabet keyboard (make space smaller) or when you go to symbol keyboard and hit period it should automatically go back to the alphabet keyboard (unless you double click the symbol button which means stay there like caps lock)
    - Individual delete (like Mail) of all lists (eg. call list, bookmarks list, history etc.
    - Multiple item in a List delete (see below for how to select). This is also so un-Mac like to not be able to select multiple items to delete. It is all or none for clear/delete on the iPhone.
    - Implement double finger slide...in maps double finger tap zooms out so the OS recognizes this, why don't you use a double finger drag to mean "select". There is no way to select some words in a sentence or a group of items. This could be how. eg. In a list (eg Mail) double finger slide over items you want to select (instead of singer finger drag which moves the list) then one finger slide to the right to delete the selected items from the list.
    - Copy and paste. Since there are no menus this would require a gesture (ala newton)
    - when you tap the battery icon it should bring up a battery status dialog (ala wifi join dialog where the screen dims): present charge, big battery icon (like the charging one), time left. In addition, instead of giving battery usage details only after a full charge, give it at any point.
    - Since you know that nights and weekends are at set times (and not variable like it was on Sprint where I came from)...the phone usage details should be broken down into: peak minutes used and N+W minutes used (not hard to figure out since you know the time and dates of calls)
    - Be able to change font/background etc in Notes app
    - faster way to get to favorites in the killer phone app after turning on phone. Just seems like it takes too many taps to get there to make a call on a phone.
    2) WISH LIST FOR NEW APPS (apps that can be added with existing hardware, see #3 for other wishes)
    - iChat (obvious and probably almost done)
    - VOIP (probably not going to happen, and wouldn't work in Europe where I would need it most gven network speeds there)
    - Flight tracker widget
    - Exchange support (probably in the works)
    - Push email from gmail and .Mac (probably in the works)
    - Bluetooth sync
    - DUN (probably not going to happen since AT+T does not want it)
    - Data/File storage with sync
    - TODO APP that syncs to to do in iCal
    - Ringtones, definitely from songs from iPod side (obvious and coming soon I am sure)
    -Search function like spotlight. Global would be awesome, but even just in contacts
    3) FUTURE HARDWARE RELATED WISHES (stuff we wish could be in hardware version 1 but know require a version 2):
    - GPS
    - 3G
    - LED that changes color and/or pulses (like MacBooks sleep light) that indicates things (eg charge status, Voice mail status, roaming status etc) without turning on the phone
    - Move camera to front to allow video conferencing (I doubt Steve would allow since it would mess up the clean front look)
    Well I could go on and will add to this thread later, but I need to go to work to show everyone (and sell more apple stuff since many of my colleagues have been converted to macs). Now, all you pioneers, start adding things to help our beloved phone become better!

    I agree with your post! I'm amazed by the simplicity, the screen, and the apps on the iPhone. They all have worked wonderfully for me, with just a few crashes while surfing or loading big email images. (I heard that shutting down the phone and restarting helps that.)
    The single flaw for me is that the phone app itself should be primary, with more options (quicker access, unique ringtones, voicedial?) and ease of use. The other applications are so elegant, but I need my phone to be very accessible and practical too.
    My wish list:
    1) Make it fewer taps to get to the point where you can make a phone call. How about the main button can be programmed to take you wherever you want. I'd choose to go to Phone Favorites, so I could speed dial right away.
    2) Be able to set a preference as to what app you're in when you wake up the phone. I'd choose phone keypad, some might choose iCal, etc.
    3) Add the period and comma symbols to the alpha keyboard.
    4) Allow different ringtones for specific caller ID's.
    5) Copy and paste.
    V2) With new hardware, add a "back" button to return to prev. screen. It could be small, on the side near volume?

  • Submit Button Acrobat 9 Pro & Select Email Client Screen

    I'm new to Acrobat and creating forms and need help.  I've created a few forms for work using 8 Pro, which have been successful.  I decided to purchase 9 Pro for home and use for our school's PTU membership drive.
    I created a form using a Word doc and the Acrobat Form Wizard.  It worked, I adjusted my fields, added a Submit button with mailto:[email protected] as the URL and want to distribute the form as "save and distribute later."  This works.  When I bring up the form for a test run, and submit to myself I get a pop up asking to Select Email Client - do I use Outlook (a few others are also listed) or Yahoo or Hotmail as my email servers.  If I click Outlook, everything is fine, the document gets forwarded to me with no problem (because I use Outlook).  My concern is for members who don't use Outlook (or the others).  They have to go through more steps by saving the doc to their hard drive and emailing it to me as an attachment.  I would really like to avoid extra steps for them.
    It there a something I'm missing in setting up my Submit button so it automatically gets emailed to me irregardless as to what they are using for email server?
    I have searched for 2 hours and have come up with nothing that I understand.  If you respond, please remember to be clear as I'm not a techno person.
    Thanks for ANY and ALL help you can provide.

    You are running into some of the classic problems/concerns for new users with forms. I will try to summarize the issues related to your work:
    1. You can create forms directly in Acrobat under the TOOLS menu using the form tools found there, or by selecting the options in the FORMS menu that generally take you to LiveCycle Designer. Questions on the forms should be put to the appropriate forum of these two, since the processing and menus are different.
    2. Having the forms be allowed to be saved (necessary for submitting the full form and not just the data that can be imported to the form) requires Reader Rights to be activated for clients using Reader. This activation limits the form use to 500 uses (check section 15 of the EULA for more details) that could be a problem for you, depending on the school size. If you have the form data submitted and do not activate the Rights, then there is not a limitation. Simply import the XML or FDF file into the form when you get it.
    3. The e-mail submission you have concerns about is valid. If you do not mind getting questions that it would not work on their machine, then fine. The e-mail submission will not work on all machines (PC , MAC, or UNIX). It depends on the client setup (you have no control), historically requiring MAPI to be active (typical of Outlook, but not other packages). In AA9/AR9 there appear to have been some extensions to this, but a lot of folks use version 9. In fact I have a different version that has come on every machine I have and do not have AA9 yet (AA4-AA8), with even older versions lying around some place. A few weeks ago someone checked in who was using AA4. Since I mentioned this problem, the solutions are:
    a. live with it and ask folks who can not submit to copy the info into the body of an e-mail or such.
    b. find someone who can add the proper scripts to a web server to receive the data. The school IT folks (if any) might be able to help there.
    c. submit the data in HTML form through a cgi-mail or formmail server that is available on many ISP servers (you may have to ask). These servers require some hidden fields telling the server where to send the submitted form data.
    Hope that helps. Bill

  • Microsoft Outlook is Wrong Email Client for Form

    Forms I have developed using the Forms button in Acrobat 9 Pro that have an email button properly launch the default mail client in Windows,even if Microsoft Outlook is installed but is not the default mail client. Forms I have developed in LiveCycle, however, try to send the form with Microsoft Outlook if it is installed, even if another mail client such as Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail is the default client. Where the user has not configured Outlook as a mail client, the user cannot send the form. Is there a way to force LiveCycle to use the default email client instead of Outlook? Or am I missing a configuration someplace in setting up the form?

    Solution on how to set the Default Email Client can be found in http://forums.adobe.com/message/2005281

  • Form distribution error with email client

    Hi All-
      I have an extremely frustrating problem.  I have designed a form in LiveCycle ES 8.2.1 for users to fill out and submit via xml.  I would like to use Acrobat Pro 9.1.0 to track and collect responses from this form.  When I test the original form, the submit button works perfectly and it opens my email client (Groupwise) attaches the xml and populates the To, Subject, and Body fields perfectly.
    The problem comes when I try to use Acrobat to distribute and track the forms.  It creates a filed called 'form_distributed' that adds a bunch of code that completely screws up my form submission.  When the form_distributed is filled out, and the user clicks the submit button, Groupwise is invoked, but I get a 'Check Names' dialog box that states
    "Windows Messaging does not recognize "1. Double-click the attachment".
    After I click cancel on that dialog box, the JavaScript Debugger shows:
    Exception in line 63 of function top_level, script XFA:form1[0]:p1[0]:Button1[0]:click
    RaiseError: One of the specified recipients is not resolvable.
    Doc.submitForm:63:XFA:form1[0]:p1[0]:Button1[0]:click
    ===> One of the specified recipients is not resolvable.
    The distributed version has this extra code inserted
    < script contentType="application/x-javascript">//@@SUBMITURL "mailto:[email protected]?subject=Submitting Completed Form&amp;body=Instructions to add this form to a responses file:\n1. Double-click the attachment.\n2. Acrobat will prompt you to select a responses file.&amp;ui=false"&#xD;
    and further down....
    // submit the form&#xD;
    if (bContinue) {&#xD;
        var rawURL = "[email protected]?subject=Submitting Completed Form&amp;body=Instructions to add this form to a responses file:\n1. Double-click the attachment.\n2. Acrobat will prompt you to select a responses file.&amp;ui=false";&#xD;
        var submitURL;&#xD;
        if (app.viewerVersion &lt; 9.0)&#xD;
            submitURL = "mailto:" + rawURL;&#xD;
        else&#xD;
            submitURL = "mailto:" + escape(rawURL);&#xD;
        currentDoc.submitForm({&#xD;
            cURL: submitURL,&#xD;
            cSubmitAs: "PDF"&#xD;
        });&#xD;
    }&#xD;
    Are these lines of code always inserted when the form is distributed?
    How can I distribute and track these responses?
    It seems to be reading
    "[email protected]?subject=Submitting Completed Form&amp;body=Instructions to add this form to a responses file:\n"
    as the first email address and then getting hung up on the body and interpreting it as an incomplete email address.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Is this in the wrong forum?  The problem I am having is with Acrobat's Distribution feature.
