Missing loops?

Hello,
I can't find my loops! I have GB2 and an iMac G5 and my loops are not showing up in the loop browser. I still have the folder with all the loops in it, however, when I try to drag it into the loop browser, nothing happens. The computer says that it is adding the loops to the browser, but afterwards, nothing has changed and my loop browser still has no loops.
Help...Please!

What time signature is your song set to?

  • Software Update not finding missing loops

I've just updated my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.8) from iLife 09 to iLife 11.
In Garageband most of the loops are missing (greyed out). When I click on one I'm given the option of downloading later or now. When I choose 'now' it opens Software Update which searches for updates and tells me that all my software is up to date. If I click on a missing look again the message says that the software instrument or Apple Loop is currently being installed and that I should open Software Update for additional information.
How do I install all the missing loops if Software Update is telling me all my programs are up to date?

  • No Vintage Funk Kit 03 on Garageband 10.0.3. Am I missing Loops?

I'm running Garageband 10.0.3 but I don't seem to have certain famous loops such as 'Vintage Funk Kit 03'. I have made all in app purchases and have 3337 loops. Has 'Vintage Funk Kit 03' just been deleted from new versions of Garageband or am I missing loops? I'm not massively bothered about not having 'Vintage Funk Kit 03', I just wanted to check that I'm not missing anything.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Okay guys and gals, I figured it out... I hope they'll let me post the pic.  Basically, with the icon up on the corner pressed for controllers, you get a few new options.  For some reason, they were grey'd out unless I had the keyboard open at the time... but once I did I could fiddle with it.  Since the modulations for smart strings seem to be awfully specific, you wouldn't notice any difference with any fine changes, but I noticed it changed dramatically at about 50 and 70... 50 ended up being the pluck I was looking for.

  • Missing loops in the new GarageBand

Hi, I have installed the last version of GarageBand 10.0.1 (AppStore).
Where are the missing loops who was available with the previous version.
    For example :
    70s Ballad Piano 03.caf
    70s Ballad Piano 04.caf
    70s Ballad Piano 05.caf
    Thanks for help !

Don't know if this is still an issue for you, but I had a similar problem after upgrading; some loops from an old song I did were gone. I did a custom upload of the loops from GarageBand '08 install disc, which replaced the missing loops in my AppleLoop file. It also somehow deleted GB 10. I reinstalled GB from the App Store. Most of the loops were then available. Some were dimmed. Some were still missing from the list, even though they appeared in the Apple Loops folder. So I did a reindex of the loops and all now seems -- for the present, anyway -- to be working properly.
Another possible path I discovered too late: go to the link here, download the missing loops, place them in your Apple Loops folder in your system library. Then reindex the loops.

These are aif files but should work okay. I think the caf files are the same thing, only compressed.

  • DVD problem with missing loops, instruments

(trying to get a helpful subject there for those searching for answers)
the fact that the loops are greyed out and instruments missing in new garagebands is well known. so is the solution of installing from DVD. i cant seem to get that to work for my high school music class.
back story is that every student has a macbook (yes i know.. amazing). thing is, most students give their macs to the IT department to get their machines 'set up' and the IT department collects their DVDs. i borrowed a bunch of those DVDs from the IT department and inserted the DVD when asked but its just not working..
any ideas? do i need to get the EXACT DVDs that came with the machine? i doubt that.
also - why doesnt any of the download options work? does anyone from apple know thats broken?
lastly - what about instruments? i can get the students some loops by dragging loops of my machine into garageband (using target disk mode), but how do i get instruments? i dont drag them into the loop browser, so where might they get put? should i put them in /Application Support/?
as we're talking about 37 students (this semster - last semester we had an ugly fix) i thought i'd ask before i did something.
    thanks a bunch..

  • How to reinstall only the missing loops?

When installing Logic, I accidentally interrupted(cancelled) one of the installers. (Audio Content 2).
When I tried to reinstall logic, after inserting disc1, it asked me for Audio content 3.
As a result, I do not know whether the loops installed properly. For some of the loops, it looks like I am missing some in the series, but I don't know for sure. I suspect I am missing some since I have "Acoustic picking 03",06 and 7, but no 1,4, and 5.
What is the best way to ensure that all the loops & audio content are properly installed (for my situation)?
What should I do to verify this?

Short answer: reinstall all the loops.  Insert the first install disc from the Studio bundle and choose to install only the audio content.  I don't have the discs here with me, so I can't try it out to explain the process much more than that, but I'm pretty sure you should be able to start the process with that first install disc.

  • Missing Loops Icon

The Eye icon for loops is missing from Garageband for me.
I've never used it, but I only have the Plus icon and the Scissor icon.
How do I get it to display?

do you have more than one page? if you don't know look right above the dock and if you see dots you have more than one page. if you do maybe you moved it to another page if you don't have more than one page i recommend a restore.

  • Missing loops on garageband

hi i have the most recent garageband on mountain lion. I noticed in the loops browser that im missing vocals, celesta, harp, harpsichord, and slideguitar and i was wondering if anyone else ran across this and why theyre missing. thank you!

Vocals, celesta, harp, harpsichord, and slideguitar all come with the JamPacks and are not part of the basic GarageBand '11.
Have you been using JamPacks before you upgraded? Then you will need to reinstall them again. Only some JamPack installers will not run on Mt. Lion, because they are PowerPC applications.
Do you have another Mac with the JamPacks installed, or a backup?

  • Garageband missing loops like Island long

    Hi there.
Last year I took music in school. We used the schools macs on apps like garageband and Logic Pro.
I decided to buy myself a mac this year and, after installing the addon loops in garageband, I still only have 2000 loops.
I am unable to find the ones that are proper 'songs'/jingles like "island" and "Lowrider". How do I get these on my mac
    Thanks in advance
    Logan

    Logan,
"island long" is a loop from the iLife Sound Effects.  It is not a GarageBand Loop, but a loop that could be used with GarageBand, if the iLife 11 package has been installed. Do you own a copy of the iLife '11 DVD? Then try to reinstall the iLife '11 version of GarageBand. GarageBAnd 10 can use the loops. Or restore them from the last backup you made, before you upgraded to GarageBand 10.
    -- Léonie
added: I don't know about "Lowrider" loops. The only loop I have with this name, is "Low Rider Sub Bass" in the "Tech House" collection. What is the fact name of the loop that is missing?

  • "There are no Loops Installed on your System." Missing Loops?

Hi everyone. I just purchased my very first Mac today and so far the experience has been great with the exception of two things. One of the things being that I don't seem to have loops on my Mac for GarageBand. When I open the Loop Browser, it simply says "There are no loops installed on your system," and gives me an empty loop browser. Did I miss something? Was I supposed to install the loops off of a disc or something? I would've assumed that the loops would've already been on my Mac, but please inform me if this is not true. Also, I still have all the discs that I got with my Mac since I just got it earlier today, so if anyone knows what discs the loops are on or any other way to get GarageBand Loops, please let me know. I'd appreciate your help very much. Thanks.

    Good.
Do a search for this folder: "Apple Loops Index".
There will likely be more than one, although only one folder probably has all your Indexed Loops.
So, when you find the one with the "Search Index..." files, delete them.
Then, open a project in GarageBand, open the Loops Browser, and drag that Loops folder onto the Loops Browser.
Wait for it to index them, and you should be good to go.
    Good luck,
    WH [:c)~

  • Please help me find my missing loop!

I have a song I made a while ago that wants to load a loop named "*WM Latin Shaker.aif*", but I can't find it anywhere. It's driving me nuts, I really want to work with that piece.
Since I made the song with GB I've installed Logic Express then Logic Pro, so I would think I should have everything, but this puppy is nowhere to be found. Couple of other loops have gone missing on me, too. Yarg.
Can anyone tell me where this might have come from originally? I fear it may have been in one of the now-unavailable Jam Pack samplers that used to be up on .Mac, which I have not kept. Or maybe it's on an earlier version of GB, the disk of which I can still dig up. So it may be somewhere on my drive or in my apartment and I would dearly love to track it down!
    TIA...
    Mark

Yeah, I figured the "WM" prefix was from its name in a sampler pack (all of which I definitely did download once) but there's nothing called "Latin Shaker" in the full World Music pack (or what came with Logic Pro 8, which I assume is the same collection). The loop may be in there somewhere, under another name, but even if it is, I can only hear what I'm seeking in a bounced-down stereo recording and it's difficult to perceptually isolate that one loop out in a fairly heavily layered piece. Which would make it hard for me to recognize even if I found it! I'm kicking myself right now for making a point of purging my loop collection of the sampler stuff once I got the whole shebang with Logic.
Do you (or anyone else) know if the same loops have worn different names in different versions of the jam packs? If so, any chance there's a reference doc somewhere that gives the translations?
Oh, and do you know if by any chance those free sampler packs are still available somewhere? I'm a MobileMe member and they're not on the iDisk where they used to be.
    Thanks for the response, Christoph.

  • BOOTMGR Missing - Looping restart

I refromatted my hard drive and am trying to reinstall from the restore disks I ordered from HP.  I keep getting "BOOTMGR Missing Press ctrl-alt-delete to restart".  I have tried everything from using the HP Disks to a Dell restore disk but within a few seconds the power goes out and it restarts the process over again.  This loop continues even when I look at the bios or any other function.  Within 5 seconds, the power will shut off and it will come back on.  I can hear the CD running and when I eject it, the disk is spinning so I am assuming the drive is okay.  Any ideas?

I guess maybe your boot order is not correct in terms of booting from cd rom drive first.
Look in bios or use the quick access key (google for details) to bring up a boot selection option menu if supported on your model.

  • I ran Logic Pro 9 recently, and I realised I had missing loops. When I checked the index, I realised all the loops were missing from Soundtrack Pro. Is there a dummies guide to uninstalling Logic Studio (not logic pro), or another way to retrieve my loops

Can someone help, I'd really like to get started on my software!

  • Logic Express 9 - missing loops

I've recently installed LE 9.1.8 on a new Mac mini (2.3 GHz core i7, OS X 10.9.3) and can't get Apple loops to work.  The loops are there in Library/Audio/Apple Loops just like they should be, and Garage Band loops appear in GB.  But in LE, nothing.  I'm pretty sure they were there when I first installed the application, but the first time I went to browse the loops, everything was greyed out.  Now, each time I launch LE I get a message that no Apple Loops were found and I should reinstall them.
I've read a lot of posts on Apple Support, and tried all the suggestions. Dragged my loops folder into the loops browser: asks for my admin password and looks like something is happening, but loops still don't appear.  (Tried that lots of times.)  Reindexed from within the loops browser: nada.  Used Disk Utility to repair permissions on the disk - no result.  Reset permissions manually in Finder: ditto.  Forced Spotlight to reindex the loops folder: no effect. Reinstalled Logic Express: no change.
Don't know if it's relevant, but this is a reinstallation on a different machine.  I had LE on a MacBook that was stolen, and I've installed from the same DVD on a new machine bought to replace the lost one.
I'm kind of stuck for what to do next.  Anyone out there know a trick that works when all the above has failed?

After a bit more searching I found a solution.  I copied my Apple loops folder to a different hard drive, then dragged *that* folder into the loops browser in LE.  This time it worked.  Don't understand why it should be so, but it looks like it is a permissions problem.
