MISSING VOLUME SLIDER BAR SOLVED!!!

I have found the culprit! It has taken me a very long time to figure it out what it was but it has finally been found. The volume slider disappears when playing music or watching videos but otherwise works.
The problem is the 32pin connector. If you don't believe me take your phone and place a hard plastic card of some sort (creditcard, school I.D) and place it underneath the 32pin connector. Look at your volume slider and it should appear! You must get your 32pin connector replaced.

I wouldn't go as fr as getting a new iPod yet. Take it into a genius bar and see what they say. I got my old iPod nano that got sent through the wash replaced for around $50. I don't promise anything.

I do not think apple will do much to help you under warrenty, as this was caused by a fall. (alas!)
I think the case is, as you suggest, jamming the rocker down, and it may have damaged the swith itself. Can you carefully lever it out of the way? Very very carefully. If it is already broken, there is not much harm you can do by trying.
If it is just the switch being jammed, you might be able to move it out a little. If it is the swith itself, you will need some real service after your three hour drive. You might check your loacl area for a closer service repair source.

No response from the the volume slide bar on keyboard

i recently purchased a new dv6 model. However, its volume slide bar on the keyboard doesnt seem to work anymore. I have tried restart the laptop but i still cant get it to work.
Is there any way to fix this problem?

ITouch not recognising headphones(no volume slide bar)

hi I have an ipod touch 32GB 1st Gen running OS 3.1.3
and recently a new problem has arisen.
when my headpones are plugged in, they play very quietly and I have no option of adjusting the volume, slide bar just isn't there.
I have tried various headphones, and the ones I use with my ipod I tried on my laptop and they work fine.
this has been happening for about 2 weeks now, and sometimes after resetting my ipod (holding lock and menu button at the same time) it makes it work but very raerly, and sometimes after disconnecting and re plugging in the headphones the slide bar appears, however nearly always asoon as I stop using the ipod and then go to use it again the problem returns.
and now for past 2 days I've been unable to get the slide bar up at all.
Anyone know ways to fix it.
also if it's not possible to fix from home, would I be able to get it repaired by apple despite I do not have warranty for it (bought it second hand off ebay)

Volume slider bar has changed appearance

My volume slider bar has disappeared & in it's place I have a series of dots. Anybody have any ideas?

I have a itouch 3G and I cracked the screen a couple of months ago. I know that my 1 year warranty does not cover cracked screens, so I did not do nothing about it because it was just a crack on right corner of the screen and I checked everything else and I saw no other damage. Just the other day I was listening to my itouch and when I was changing the volume of my music using the volume bar on the side of my itouch I saw that part of my volume bar was crack and fell out of the ipod. Well since that happen the rest fell of the volume bar fell out and I have no volume bar on the side anymore.Is my warrenty still good to get that fixed or am I better off saving up and buying a new ipod?

Ringer volume slider bar keeps turning on, how do i disable it while I'm taking pictures.

I have gone in and tried to set all to vibrate, but still the ringer volume keeps coming up and the volume bar shoots all the way to high

I am missing the "slide" bar on the right side of my mailboxes.

i tried reseting my ipod today and had a similar problem... it wont be recognized by itunes, the only thing i havent tried is putting it into DFU mode, or the state that it is in when u recieve it telling u to connect it to itunes.i recommend putting it into DFU mode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34v8HMC9B98 this should better explain it. if i find another way, ill keep u updated

I have an I phone 4 and since I upgrade to the lastest ios 6.1.3 , my volume slider is missing. The sound works when but I can't mute or turn up or turn down the volume. I've tried a hard reset , reboot, blowing air in the dock and earrplug jack. :-(

I tried almost evrything to restore my volume slider( + & - ). My phone rings, plays music and every other sound but I can't mute or put the volume up r down with the side buttons.. My volume slider bar is missing. This is only simce I upgraded to iso 6.1.3 .. What's with that?? I figured out how to manually mute the phone through (General, Accessibitily) by muting the bell for sound and unmuting the bell for silent mode. But what a freaken pain, when you have to take all those extra steps to turn your volume up or down or mute your Iphone??
We have no Apple Store here so no luck to bring it in to get looked at.. Please , does anyone out there know what else I coold do???

Does it work with headphones plugged in? That is typically the culprit, the device mistakenly believes that a pair of headphones are plugged in.

Volume Mixer Slide Bar Controls display on screen and interfere with internet and other functions.

Without warning Volume Slide Bar Controls will display on my screen fluctuating levels like I was changing the volume/bass/treble level. This stops/blocks whatever I'm doing on the the notebook such as typing, internet, turns on my "wireless" connection, turns on the volume mixers (I keep it turned off), and stops my typing. This will go on for varying lengths of time, and then all goes back to normal. It happens on or off the internet, wireless or wired.
Performed HP scan & all checks out o.k. Scanned for everything possible. Everything is up to date.

Playing Music No Slider bar Showing

I notice now when I play music that my volume slider bar shows but the fast foward or rewind slider bar is missing how do i get the bar back.

Where has my iTunes mini volume slider gone?

I have iTunes 11.0.4 on my Macbook. I use the mini box all the time, and until today, a slider would appear in the 11.0.4 mini box if I ran the cursor over it. (Not, in my opinion, an improvement over the previous version, where it was visible all the time, but oh, well.)
Today I opened iTunes and the volume slider in the mini was gone. Can anyone tell me how to get it back without wasting time going to the regular iTunes window (or having to adjust the volume on my computer)?
I found a thread from December, 2012 complaining about the missing volume slider and asking why Apple would do such a dumb thing. But that would be so dumb, so totally unnecessary, and such an inconvenience to so many people that I can't believe Apple would do such a thing, or at least fail to get it patched by now, 7 months later. (Tell us it ain't so, Apple.)
Besides, it was there yesterday, and I haven't updated anything in the last 24 hours. Anyone know where my slider might have gone to? Thanks!!

My speaker doesn't work when I try to listen to music or open up a quick time file, however they seem to work perfectly when I listen to a voice memo (p.s. the volume slider disappears in a song page and even in the multi tasking bar)

Thanks for your solution, it wasn't quite what solved the problem but i remembered that i had a bit of salt water on my phone recently and spraying the charging port with an anti-oxide spray solved my problem, do you mind if i ask, how is the charging port related with the volume or/and speakers?

Volume and Volume Slider Missing

Recently, I dropped my 32GB iPod Touch 4th Generation into a bowl of water. I had an Otterbox Survivor Case on it, however, the rubber pieces were missing where the headphone jack and the charging jack are. After drying off my iPod and placing it in a bowl of rice, I soon came to the realization that my volume slider was missing. Panicking, I attempting pressing the sidebar buttons, sliding my fingers across where the slider should be, even turning off and restarting my device.

If/when the iPod is totally dry:
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a hardware problem caused by the water.
