Missing Web Items

Hello,
We have migrated from BW 3.0 to NW2004s SP13.
The users are complaining that some web items like broadcaster and whatifprediction is not available on portals.
1) What could be the issue with this after upgrade.
2) There is a migration of web items from 3.x to 7.0 Program:- RSZW_ITEM_MIGRATION_3X_TO_70 . will this solve the issue ?
3) If yes to point 2, Is RSZW_CHART_MIGRATION_35 required prior to step 2.
4) Is there any work around without going for step 2 & 3.

Do you mean BI 7.0 WAD does not have some web items?

Web application designer web item missing

Hi,
I have a problem with the WAD designer, when I'm designing a new web template and I drag and drop any web item to my template layout, the item appears without image and with a message "Table: Image missing". I try to solve the problem deleting the wad cache, and eve reinstalling the SAP GUI, but it still happening.
Can anyone help me please!!

Web Item Report Error

I am running a web report that just has a query in it (testing). When I run it I get the error:
Web template error in specifications for the Web item report
The parameter REPORT for the Report Web item in the Web template is empty or missing
Add the Report Design (parameter REPORT) with the BEx Web Application Designer
Contact your system administrator. This error was recorded
Has anyone experienced this before?

I know this is a very old thread, but we just recently upgraded a sandbox to 7.0 and just trying out all the functionality.
I received the same error as the starter of this thread did but I'm just executing a query (that I created from the Query designer) on to the web (no WAD involved)... This function could've been calling the 0REPORT_DEFAULT_TEMPLATE where it's getting the error from. I reactivated the business content but I still couldn't resolve the problem.
That said, I couldn't really alter the business content using your suggestion for this because it is a template where other queries might be calling it... right? or am I missing something?

I tried to create a Web-Template (WAD). By executing the report, I get the selection screnn, but by confirming the selection I get the following message:
Web Item Report Error
Web template error in specifications for the Web item report
Parameter REPORT for the Report Web item in the Web template is empty or missing
Use the BEx Web Application Designer to add parameter REPORT to the report Web item in the Web template, and assign a report name to the parameter
Contact your system administrator. This error was recorded
What can I do to solve this error?

As DP_1 Type Query_view_Data_provider, I have assinged a Query Designer Query wich works fine, if I execute it as QDR.
The entry Query_view_Data_provider makes sense for me, but what do I need to maintain for the type "Filter"?

Web items not visable in PDF.

Hi all,
I'm using a generic "display"-web template in WAD. Printing, "Print Version" button, this template from a browser the standard analysis and chart are displayed in the PDF output file. If a add a new web item, like Analysis, the browser is showing the new added web item. But when I print this report, the new added web item is missing, not shown.
Any ideas what the solution is for this problem?

Hi Coen,
Yes, you have to choose by EXPORT Command by Data binding web items which should be exported.
If you did not choose anything all web items should be exported

WAD - Export to Excel: Information from Web Item "FILTER_PANE_ITEM"

Hi all
In a report header I would like to display all the restrictions (filters) that have been placed on a query. I do this by adding a FILTER_PANE_ITEM in the web application. I works fine in the IE: In the top of the report all restrictions are displayed and below the query result from ANALYSIS_ITEM part.
I have created a Buttom called "Export to Excel". The Command is EXPORT and in the web items for Data Binding I list both the FILTER_PANE_ITEM and the ANALYSIS_ITEM.
When I run the report in the IE and push the "Export to Excel" buttom the data is exported to Excel...but only the ANALYSIS_ITEM part. All information from the FILTER_PANE_ITEM are missing... And I don't understand why!
Can anyone give me a hint to what I am doing wrong?

FILTER_PANEis not an exportable item and hence the web item binding is ignored.

Alternatively, you can use INFO_FIELD Web Item to display the list of static, dynamic filters and variable values used.

WAD: Push button not displaying some Web Items

Hi All,
I have a web template 7.x in which there is a push button for "Export to PDF". There are some changes carried out to this web template, to include one radio button web item. My requirement is to display this Web Item on the export to PDF page.
I have included this radio button web item in "Export to PDF" button list. However still it is not displayed on Export to PDF page.
Is there any other setting which i am missing?

As per SAP Note 1069368 which talks about the limitations of Export to PDF functionality in WAD 7, the following webitems alone are supported on Export to PDF:-
Supported Web items
Analysis item
Report item (see also the section 'Web application export with report items')
Chart item
Map item
Information item
Text item
List of conditions
List of exceptions
Images (only from the MIME repository, see Note 484390)
Thus Radio Button cannot be included in the exported PDF.

Hierarchical Filter Web Item causes validation warning.

When I validate my web template which contains a hierarchical filter web item agianst the server I get the following warning (W1):
Mapping for Service item_validation_service for Object HIERARCHICAL_FILTER_ITEM missing
Maybe this also relates to my problem of not having the possibility to choose a characteristic for the hierarchical filter (see my post <a href="https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=209968&tstart=0">https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=209968&tstart=0</a>)
How can I fix this mapping issue?

Hello,
Your first problem is that ABAP SP does not equal Java SP. This is not a valid scenario.
Please update both to <b>the same SP level</b>.
After it, please retest your problem. I think that the problems will be solved (at least this one with validation service).
Short explanation to validation service:
Every template created in WAD will be validated before saving it. We have two validations:
1. one is locally with the meta data this checks if:
- all used parameters are on its place,
- all parameter values are valid,
- all defined items are existing...
2. second one is extended validation on the Java Server: this one checks i.e. following:
- are all used data providers valid
- are all used characteristics valid
- item dependent validation (e.g. if one item needs a dependency between to setting - this can be checked here)
The first one will be executed in Front-End and in ABAP Back-End. The second one in Java. Because your Java stack is /probably/ lower than ABAP, this validation does not work.
I hope I have explained it clearly.

Container Layout Web Item supported for PDF Printing (Stack 11)

Dear all and Mr. Prakash Darji
I had an information that PDF export would be supported for Container Layout Web Item with SPS11. We hrecently have installed SPS11 but the functionality is still not available.
Does any one have more info on this ? Has SAP changed the plan ?
The current document at the service marketplace about functional enhancements on the following link does not say any thing about this.

I' an APEX newbie and believe I am having the same or a similar problem. I am (for now) developing a system using the hosted Apex development system online. I have created a Report Query which works fine with the default layout. I downloaded the XML (tried both sample data and schema) into Word 2007 with the BI Publisher Template Builder. I used the table wizard to create a simple layout containing all columns with no customization at all. Saved as an RTF, uploaded to Apex as a Report Layout, associated it with the Report Query, clicked Test Report -- and I got nothing.
When the is a PDF, I get the same error you mention ( Adobe Reader could not open the <file name> because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded ). If I switch to an HTML file the out is just a blank screen.
If I switch back to generic report layout, it works fine. This suggests there is something wrong with the template, though it looks fine in Word with the sample data.
I've searched the forums and Google for the better part of a day. What am I missing?

Handling Multiple web items

Hi,
How do i code multiple web items for:
a) Web printing - i've referred to the HOW TO GUIDE..
however it shows illustration of a single table item.
I have multiple web items including graphs/chart that I would like to print.
Also some columns are not shown/missing. Is there other solutions
b) Changing scalling factor(for all columns / drilldown multiple hierarchies by clicking a single custom 'toolbar' button. What's the code for this ? So far examples only shows for a single characteristics/columns.

I haven't tried printing multiple tables, but I know that with most of the standard BW commands, there is an additional command that you can specify which is MULTI. I think once you have used MULTI, you can then specify a pattern to match, so if you had 2 tables, you would specify MULTI=X and then ITEM=TAB* ... something like that may help.
Here is a function that I have written to change the number of rows in multiple tables on the page:

WAD Web Item : Custom Extension

Hi,,
I have created a class for basically exporting data to excel sheet. i have created a web item custom extension and mapped the class to it through the parameters DP:included data provider details, variable details, navigation access and result set access.
and ultimately mapped to Button.
now when i am executing the Button doesnt work, so i have created a break point in the methods initialize and execute inside the class, but it doesnt seem to work. please suggest, if i have missed something while creating class/webitem/button.
I am basicaly trying to Export data to excel through class.

Dreamweaver missing CS6 items

Dreamweaver is missing these items. Is it a setup issue or are they not included yet?
Design Notes indicator on site files tab.
Date of modification on site files tab.
Layout choices limited to compact and expanded.
Upload indicator missing.

There were many changes between DWCS6 Disk > DWCS6 Cloud > DWCC
Many items that were in previous versions have been removed. You can check out a lot of it in the DWCC Blog: http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/tag/dreamweaver-cc
If you have DWCC and attempt to use a DWCS6 resource (web tutorial, book, etc) there will be many missing items.

2004s "Group Web Item" Explanation

Hi, Can someone explain the "Group Web Item" to me? I put several items in it, but when I configure the "Group Web Item" it requests a single subordinate web item? And when I run it only the one assigned web item shows up on the screen. Is it supposed to only display 1 item? Doesn't seem to make any sense to me.
What am I missing here?

In a group item you can have web item assigned to
1. Caption
2. toolbar
3. Design
All the webitems (that can be container/conatiner layout or any other web item) can be assigned to 1, 2 and 3.
Also you can use conatiner layout and assign couple of other web items and specify all the web items correctly in the conatiner layout or
you can create a table in a container and drag and drop other web items in the table.
Then you need to assign the conatiner or the container layout to the design subordinate item. (3-design)
When web template with group item is executed, the web report will only shows up the web items that you have assigned in the 3 areas; (design/caption/toolbar).
Can I ask what web items do u want to display? And what web item did you assign in the design (3)?

Following are some of the things you should test -
Export -
1. Exporting to File: For different file types check the way data is getting extracted as compared to report results in URL. Here you need to check - a. if the correct values are getting exported (w/o any conversion of data types, or any format changes). b. Layout of the exported data (ex. row data is appearing in rows, etc.),
2. Check files for any missing data.
3. Check if exporting the data, with selected drill levels, filters, etc. is working fine (or is exporting everything irrespective of the data from current report reults).
Print -
Print your report using the default printer on your machine & check the following -
1. Reports is getting printed as expected in terms of data & layout.
2. The rows or columns are well within the page defined in your printer settings (ie nothing is running out of page).
3. When printing, change in orientation works for both the options without any loss of data.
All web items will not be printed, so you need to make a note of this.
