Mistakenly applied security exception to web site

I downloaded JAVA and started getting a lot of security errors. I mistakenly clicked "Get me out of here!" on one of these error messages, so now I can't access that site. Is it possible to reverse or remove a security exception?

  • How to apply security trimming control on Site Action (Gear) in SharePoint 2013?

    I want to apply security trimming control on Site Action (Gear) & change the position of the welcome control, but I am not able to find Site Action delegate control and welcome control in seattle.html or seattle.master page.
    Can you please let me know how to find Site Action & Welcome control?
    Thanks
    G Goyal

    If you would like to implement security trimming on site action through custom code then following could help you,
    In your visual studio project create a class which implements System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebControl. In the
    CreateChildControls Method you could get the FeatureMenuTemplate control which is SharePoint’s
    WelcomeMenuTemplate.
    After creating control, you could add it as an menu item into your site action menu using a
    customaction xml.
    You could get the child controls from this and can remove them as required.
    Note: using this approach, if you have User profile service running then it will not remove the “About Me” link. But if you have forms authentication enabled then you could change your logic to remove this link.
    Hope I have contributed to your issue.

  • I failed to Confirm Security Exception for a site confirmed to be trusted, but apparently only supported by Internet Explorer, and am now barred from the site, so how do I access it?

    I have been successfully accessing a secure site using a Citrix plugin. The security certificate for the site was renewed on 17 September and is valid, but is apparently supported by Explorer. When I accessed it today, Firefox reported it as Insecure. I attempted to bypass the Firefox block, but must have failed to Confirm Security Exception, so that my access is now denied as I 'have said this is not a trusted site' (error 183). Is there any way I can now access the site.

    Thank you for your reply.
    My problem isn't removing my log-in name and password for a site.
    The problem is I already had the log-in name and password saved by FF, but I was required by the site to change the password. FF did not recognize that it had changed and refuses to prompt me to save the new password.
    After several attempts to force the prompt, I deleted the site from the Saved Password list, hoping that the next time I entered my log-in name and password on that site FF would ask if I wanted to save both. That did not happen even after exiting FF and relaunching it.
    So, right now FF will not save my log-in name and password for a site that it used track for me. Given the complexity of the new password, I really do not want to manually enter it every time I use the site.

  • Security Exception in Web Start

    Hi,
    I have an application that maps the users local directory to a JTree.
    I have implemented a drag and drop interface to move files from the user file system to a remote directory that sits on my server. The application runs fine without web start.
    On deplyoing with web start I get following exception when I try to copy a file from the local file system to the remote file system.
    java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.io.FilePermission D:\706\WS_FTP.LOG read)
         at java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(AccessControlContext.java:270)
    My jnlp file has the security set to all permissions.
    <security>
         <all-permissions/>
    </security>
    All my jar files are signed.
    The lines that causes the exception are below.
    DataSource ds = null;
    // getting the data from the file object f
    try{
    ds = new ByteArrayDataSource(f,null);
    }catch (IOException ioe)
    System.out.println("IOException creating data source for tranfer of file
    ioe.printStackTrace();
    DataHandler dh = new DataHandler(ds);
    // call is a Call object.
    call.setMethodName(methodName);
    My understanding of web start is that if I have the "all permissions" set and the jar files signed, I should have unrestricted access to the users file system. However I am getting an error.
    That about sums up my problems.
    I am absolutely lost and am eagerly awaiting some replies/suggestions/clues.
    Thanks
    Shahid

    I have this problem too. For me I have 3 jars but not the same key signed.
    When start app it ask user only one key add method in other class which not the same key throw exception
    java.security.AccessControlException: access denied(java.io.FilePermission C:\file.txt read)

  • Help!! Security Issues with web site

    Whenever we start our webservices, web visitors can view our folder list. The option is disabled on the server and the web folder is not being shared.
    Any ideas? One of my sites was hacked into.
    thanks!!

    Without an index.html file, the directory structure is shown by default in Apache.
    The easiest thing to do is have an index.html file in every folder. Nothing elaborate, just a simple html page will do.
    Hope this helps

  • Applying Security policies to Web Services using WLST

    Hi,
    I can create security roles and assign the role expressions using WLST. I am just curious to know that if we can apply the security policies to the applications/any weblogic resource using WLST.
    If yes, Can you please let me know how I can do that? I checked the Mbeans for applications and security realm, but was unable to find a way.
    I am using weblogic 81 sp6 platform.
    Thanks

    The language used for security policies is not public in 8.1.
    In 9.2, WLS supports XACML.

  • Safari and the Secured Western Union Web Site.

    I have using Safari 3.1.2 (525.21) and the Secured Western Union website, in order to use their money in minutes service, I have to open it with IExplorer. I reset safari, uncheck the block pop-up windows, but Safari doesn't work with it. How can I add WesterUnion to the safe website list in Safari? maybe this is the reason, that the following Wester Union Screen, after the log in, are blocked by Safari.
    Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

    There is no Internet Explorer available for Mac (or Linux for that matter). I hate when sites 'require' IE, it's just lazy programming since there are other sites that do the same thing, but don't require it.
    So, you have 3 options
    1. Use a different computer that has Windows
    2. Get Windows and put it on via:
    a. Boot Camp http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/bootcamp.html
    b. Parallels http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/
    3. Use IE4OSX http://odetoapple.com/2007/run-multiple-versions-of-internet-explorer-on-mac-os- x-without-the-need-for-windows/(I've used IE4Lin, but haven't tested the western union site)

  • Applying security to Internal Content of Note Board

    Hello Techies,
    I am using Note Board Web Part in on of my application. Now my requirement is to apply security on that web part as some of the user will be able to write or insert the note in it but they will not be able to see it and some user will not be able to insert
    not in it but they will be able to see it.
    Please can anyone help me on this?
    Thanks in Advance
    Swap

    Hi SwapnPro,
    Do you mean, that some users can use the post dialog to submit posts, then he/she cannot see the posts below the submit dialog in the web part? Whiles other can see the posts, but cannot use the post submit dialog?
    If so, in my opinion, if it is used in one page, use JavaScript/JQuery is easier to do this, add Content Editor Web Part, in the page load, JavaScript check current user account, if it is in the group that not allowed to see the posts, then hide the posts
    part div, otherwise, for users that cannot submit the post, add action to posts button, disable to submit the post.
    If I have misunderstanding, please provide more information what the web part would like.
    Thanks,

  • Connection untrusted for Twitter even after addition of security exception

    I use Firefox on my office computer behind a company firewall and a server re-issuing security certificates for secure sites. Like for many other users, normally this only leads to the annoyance of having to add security exceptions for https sites manually. However, for Twitter.com, even that won't work. First I got the connection not trusted message with "The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided". Then I enabled browser.xul.error_pages.expert_bad_cert, but all that happened was that the error message reloaded.
    I tried deleting the certificate, the cookie, cache, history, the cert8.db file, and also tried it in secure mode with all addons disabled, still no luck. I had no such problem with IE9 on the same computer or Firefox on my home computer (Windows XP) or on my Android tablet.

    Hi Daneelro3,
    Thank you for your question, I understand that there is difficulty with creating a certificate that is not allowing Twitter, I have asked the security irc channel for more information for troubleshooting this and will be back shortly with more information.

  • An unknown website just appeared in my 'exceptions' list (Tools Options Security "warn me when sites try to install add-ons"-how could this happen?

    downloaded Firefox onto friends' laptop last night. Found it necessary to place two websites in the (afore-mentioned) "Exceptions" category. shut down/re-booted three-four times over the next few hours before shutting down the laptop and going to bed. Booted up this am and, WHOA!-suddenly my menu/toolbars have new, undesired toolbars(?) search boxes(?): the search box, if I remember right, was labeled "My Web Search sponsored by iwon!" Whilst eliminating the intruders I became aware that by some unknown means I had fetched up on some webpage I've never heard of and had no reason to go to-( the very top of my display (above the menu and address bar) read: 'reason upgrade Search' (separated by a line symbol I can't reproduce here), then 'Musician's Friend' ....HUH? (feeling like Dorothy w/o a tornado transport). So I finish getting rid of the invaders and check out my History to try to figure out how I wound up at this website. my history indicates the last site I visited before going to bed, then 'aclk' (www.google/aclk? followed by a string of mixed symbols letters etc. Then 'redirect' (www.rkdms.com/redirect?c=....and a string of numbers and letters. Then the website"reason upgrade Search (?) Musician's Friend " then 'redirect.jhtml' (www.search.mywebsearch.com/mywe.........) Them 'Firefox Web Browser& Thunder....' still no clue how or why I wound up at that site..didn't go there, (not of my volition, anyways!!) so im checking my security settings and in Tools>options>Security>advanced> in the "Exceptions" category of "Warn me when sites try to install add-ons" is a website I've never heard of (getpersonas.com) and DID NOT enter!!!!!!!.Need to know how this could happen, how to prevent recurrence and how hard should I hit the panic button because right now I'm totally freaked!
    == today

    These prefs get set to an empty String once the sites have been added to the whitelist if the pref is not empty if you open the exception window.
    Tools > Options > Security : "Warn me when sites try to install add-ons": Exceptions
    You can reset these prefs on the about:config page.
    xpinstall.whitelist.add - addons.mozilla.org
    xpinstall.whitelist.add.36 - getpersonas.com
    To open the ''about:config'' page, type '''about:config''' in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

  • Unable to Activate Screen Buttons on Secure Web Sites with Safari 5.0.2

    I often pay bills online with secure sites, but today I was unable to complete any of those actions. The problem was that I could not produce the desired action when I clicked on action buttons (associated with secure emails in a list), such as SEND or REPLY. The problem was highlighted by red text notes telling me I should have used the onscreen buttons rather than my browser's arrow keys. Obviously, that's exactly what I was doing. It never cleared itself, even with a Reset Safari or Empty Cache. I did not have any of these problems before the recent upgrade to Safari 5.0.2.

    That certainly could be true,...I guess. I did use Firefox 3.6.10 to accomplish what I needed with these secure sites without experiencing any of the same problems. So, it almost sounds like you have to *drink the kool aid* to believe it is the web sites themselves. I had this problem with more than one web site; as, I was in the process of paying four monthly bills online on different web sites. At least three of them were secure sites, and Safari would not work on any of the three web sites...I am pretty sure they were the secure ones. It also appears possible that to the degree that Safari is NOT standards-compliant, some fault in systems engineering might be preventing its ability to work with secure sites. I did encourage, through an independent email, one web master to investigate with Apple why his web site/Safari interface was not working. So, he might take you up on your advice to become more standards-compliant if it applies. I'm still in need of a fix that I can really use.

  • Not able to access secure  web sites

    I have a satelite modem that connects via WAN port to my Airport Extreme which then is connected via LAN port to Netgear ethernet card on my PC. After just getting the broadband last week, I noticed that I cannot access certain secure sites such as my bank or american express site on my PC but I can do it via wireless from my PowerBook G4. When I bypass the Airport extreme and connect the modem directly to the PC ethernet card, I can then acess the secure sites on my PC.
    Can some please help to solve this so that I can acess the secure sites on my PC as well when using the Airport Extreme?
    After taking to tech supprot at the Hughes.net they say that the router is somehow blocking the sites into the PC- something about a MTU or something like that?
    Thanks for your help
    Faltu1

    Thanks Duane for your prompt reply.
    My knowlede of computers in very shameful. I am not aware of any software on the PC that has the wireless port more restricted. All I have is the AVG free Anit-virus and the Free Microsoft Fire Wall installed.
    If it is a software blocking the ports; how can find out which one it is and what can be done to fix it.
    Are there some settings on the AEBS that can be adjusted for it to communicate better with the PC to all the sites to pass through.
    I did find some thing on the appple web site about restricted website but I don't understand what it means and wether it really applies to my situation. See below:
    Restricted address ranges
    Using AirPort Admin Utility or AirPort Utility, check the "Public" or "WAN" IP address. If this address starts with a "10" or "192", your ISP is using restricted address ranges. This may affect the ability of the base station to share the Internet connection among computers. If you have difficulty connecting to some websites when the base station has a public IP address beginning with 10 or 192, use AirPort Admin Utility or AirPort Utility to turn off connection sharing for the base station. Only one computer will be able to connect through the base station. If you have a broadband modem, you may need to unplug its power supply for a few seconds to reset it. If that resolves your issue, contact your Internet service provider. In this configuration the base station is serving as a wireless bridge between your computer and the ISP, rather than as a wireless router. To connect more than one computer, your ISP would need to assign additional IP addresses to your account.
    Thanks for your help again.

  • Disable Java Security Warning: Allow access to the following application from this web site?

    Dear all,
    When I open web intelligence with BI launchpad, this warning has been shown:
    "The web site is requesting access and control of the Java application shown above. Allow access only if you trust the web site and know that the application is intended to run on this site.
    Allow access to the following application from this web site?"
    and it has just three button of "Yes", "No" and "Help".
    I go to Java Control Panel and Security tab, then set security level on the "Medium" and add my site in the Exception Site List but this warning is shown each time I open web intelligence.
    I have searched the internet very much but I haven't found any solutions for disabling of it. How can I disable this security warning?

  • On the Washington Post website, when I try to click on an article, I get the message, "Invalid URL". I don't have this problem with other Web sites. I recently upgraded to the secure version of Firefox.

    I never had this problem before. I don't know if it's related to now having the secure (HTTPS) version of Firefox. Some WaPo links DO work, but most don't. One other thing: at least once when I Googled "The Washington Post" and clicked on the apparent result, I got a message saying that the certificate was "Not Trusted" and that legitimate Web sites did not ask me to override this issue and proceed to the site. Yet the website I'm trying to use is "www.washingtonpost.com", which I know for a fact is THE Post Website. What's going on, and how can I fix this? Thanks.
