Hi all
Is it possible to restrict the number of lync session that use enterprise cal if i got more standart cal than enterprise ones.
I mean if i got 200 enterprises cal an 1000 standards cal how can i restrict the use of this 200 cals.
The goal is when 200 users uses theres cal nobody else can use the enterprises features given by Lync.

  • Difference between standard edition and enterprise edition?

Is there any document describing the feature differences between Oracle 9i standard edition and enterprise edition?
Specifically is Oracle Text bundled with the standard edition?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
    Check this document:
    http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=112591.1
Apart from the features that are present in E.E. and not in S.E., there is little difference (except the license price...).
Note that some seperately purchased options are only available with E.E., not S.E. (e.g. Partitioning, Enterprise Manager Packs).

  • What is the difference between 9i standard edition and enterprise edition

    hi,
who can tell me what is the difference between ora 9i standard edition and enterprise edition?? relevant http links are also appreciated. thank you!

If your 'professor' really said that then I think you need to find a new college!I agree. 11g is a superset of 9i. In fact, you can tell 11g to run in 9i compatibility mode.
    >
I firmly believe that you would do well starting with
9i and then going through the new features with each
release to 11g.Since 9i is officially about to start it's second year in 'Extended Support' (which, due to the surcharge in support fee, will likely see a drop-off in adoption) I would encourage anyone studying Oracle database to start with 10g.
But the idea of starting at 9i is not bad.

'Client' is the software required to
    access/interact/maintain an Oracle database remotely
from a client machine. Different features become
available as you progress from Personal to Standard
to Enterprise editions. They are cost related to
whichever license you buy in a production environment. One point of confusion is that Personal Edition really is targeted for the Developer and therefore includes all capabilities, features and options of Enterprise Edition turned on and included in the license. (Except RAC and OEM packs) When I draw a picture, I put Personal Edition at the top as most capable.

  • Weblogic 10gR3 standard edition and enterprise edition

Difference between weblogic 10gR3 standard edition and enterprise edition ??

WebLogic Server software is the same in all of the various download distributions available that vary on platform and 32/64 bit architecture. However, which features are licensed for use vary by the edition customers license, which is covered here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e14860/products.htm#i1041725
That link is for WLS 11g, but it applies generally to WLS 10.3.0 as well.

  • Selection on Oracle 8i Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition

I have seen "Oracle8i: A Family of Database Products" which states the feature difference between oracle8i standard and enterprise edition, for example, failover, parallel server, ...
However, if I only use one databse in my application then it seems that there is no difference between standard and enterprise edition.
Is there any significant difference between those that I must use enterprise edition one, e.g. performance???

    Hi,
Can anybody give me a short explaination about the differences between the Standard Edition and the Enterprise Edition. Is the standard edition a fully qualified development and production environment?
    Regards,
Joshua The diff between SE and EE has to do with what you license. SE for example, is not licensed for REP and Parallel Server but that might not stop someone from implementing them ? I consider SE and EE to be 'fully qualified development and production environment' but that is just my opinion.

Disaster recovery in Enterprise = automated
Disaster recovery in Standard = manual (or use dbVisit product)
Recovery time in Enterprise = effectively no time at all.
Recovery time in Standard = how well, fast and accurately do you type ... especailly archivelog file names from your backup
Data loss in Enterprise = can be configured to 0
Data loss in Standard = depends on your skill and on what broke
Support cost saving ... disaster recovery is part of the enterprise license and does not officially exist as part of standard. Therefore (savings = (x - null))
Do you include the DBA and end user time in the true support calculation, or are you simply stopping the calculation at 'what we pay Oracle'? The trade off is in "is it supported by Oracle or is it supported by you"

  • Oracle standard edition vs. enterprise edition

    Hi all
Due to cost constraints, we have had to downgrade our 8i Database Enterprise Edition installation to Standard Edition.
My question is: do we have to re-create our database under Standard Edition, to make it a 'Standard Edition' database, or can we just re-open our existing database (created under Enterprise Edition) with the Standard Edition?
I installed 8i SE and opened our database but, of course, SELECT BANNER FROM V$VERSION suggests we're still running the EE.
Are we breaking the terms of our licence by using this existing database?
    Very many thanks

    Hi!
My impression is during the database creation time, Oracle incorporates in data dictionary the options available for each product edition in that time.
Try to execute a specific operation that needs an E.E. license just like parallel query, advanced replication, and Partitioning.
    Execute this query:
    select * from v$option;
And compare to the Database Feature and Option Availability ( notes available on metalink ):
Differences Between Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition in 8i
    Note:112591.1
Differences between Oracle 8.1.x Personal, Standard and Enterprise on NT/2000
    Note:70059.1
As long as this is only my impression, try opening a SR to make it sure.

  • Discovery search licensing (standard CAL or enterprise?)

    Hello,
when adding user to Discovery Management role Group, server summary reports that all mailboxes need ECAL.
    But according to this blogpost:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2012/07/13/announcing-a-licensing-change-for-multi-mailbox-search.aspx
    and Exchange licensing page:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/microsoft-exchange-server-licensing-licensing-overview-FX103746915.aspx
standard CAL covers the multi-mailbox search feature.
Should I just ignore Organization Summary info in EMC?

    Hi Aurimas,
I would like to verify your Exchange version, Exchange 2010 RTM, SP1, SP2 or SP3? If not Exchange 2010 SP3, I recommend you upgrade to Exchange 2010 SP3. Things have improved on it.
The Enterprise CAL is no longer required for Multi-Mailbox Search after 10/1/2012.
What's more, here is a helpful thread for your reference.

  • SharePoint Enterprise CALs

I know Enterprise CAL is required for InfoPath (forms) services and BI stuff in SharePoint. The question is do we need the license for the designers of these systems or the consumers of the end product? for example, if I bought 10 Enterprise CALs for my
inforpath designers, and they design a form to be used by 500 employees. do I buy enterprise CALs for the other 500 employees too?
    Alert from TechNet Posting

You would need it for both designers and consumers. If they interface with the feature, they need the license (Standard + Enterprise, in this case).

  • DLP feature vs Enterprise CAL

    Hi,
I am trying to test the DLP feature.
My install: Exchange 2013 SP1, Enterprise Server License.
Client: Outlook 2013 Pro ( can work with EX13 for DLP)
    Standard CAL license.
I tried to create a DPL test rule. It doesn't work.
It said that I need Enterprise CAL ( ECAL). I don't see where I can "Install" the Enterprise CAL. I want to test this feature before spending $10K on the Enterprise CAL. Can someone shed a light. ALL googling come up with the different between
    SCAL and ECAL.
I ran this comment and it shows that all users are using SCAL: Get-ExchangeServerAccessLicenseUser –LicenseName “Exchange Server
    2013 Standard CAL”

    Hi,
The DLP feature is available on “Standard plus Enterprise CAL” edition:
    http://products.office.com/en-us/exchange/microsoft-exchange-server-licensing-licensing-overview
    And it requires Outlook editions:

  • I Cal and conflicting apt notification

I use basic I Cal and make a lot of reoccurring apt. I cal is great that it gives the dates of all apt, but it does not notify if there is a conflicting apt. Is here a setting I am missing or do I need to upgrade to another software, or is this just one of those things that has not been addressed?

For all those not exactly impressed by standard RTFM&GTFO info:
    xfce4-notifyd provides notification-daemon
So it should be safe to replace notification-daemon with xfce4-notifyd (just trying out XFCE while using Gnome.

  • After Downgrading 2012 Cal and RDS can i later "un-Downgrade" back to 2012

So here is the deal.  I have a system that came shipped with 2008R2 Standard server but had shipped with 2012 5user Cal and 5 user RDS.  (i have no idea why they did that) So i inorder to use my Cals and RDS i had to call MS and downgrade the 2012
Cal and 2012 RDS to 2008R2.
Now that i have done that 15 months has past and our core database is now 2012 compliant. We would like to upgrade the server to 2012 standard and use the old 2012 5 user Cal and 5 user RDS with 2012.
Just to be clear the card i have in my hand says 2012 5 user Cal and 2012 5 user RDS. However i have called MS and downgraded these to 2008R2. Will these now work with Server 2012, or are they stuck in 2008R2.

    Hi,
If you have a Server 2012 RD Licensing server you may install your 2012 RDS CALs on it and then set your Server 2008 R2 RDSH to use the 2012 RDL server.  The 2012 RD Licensing server will automatically issue the CALs as 2008.
Apart from that, for Licensing terms I suggest you to contact MS clearinghouse directly for more clarification.
Locate the Microsoft Clearinghouse Telephone Number for Your Country or Region
    Hope it helps!

  • Exchange 2010 Org Health check telling me I need Enterprise CALs, bug?

My new install of Exchange 2010 Enterprise organizational health check  is telling me I also need Enterprise CALs for all of my test users. This does not seem right since I have not enabled any features listed as ecal features at http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/en-us/licensing-exchange-server-email.aspx#Exchange2010CAL
in fact the setup is a very basic one. The test users were migrated from an existing exchange 2007 server but again no enterprise features were enabled there. Is there a way to tell what it thinks I need enterprise CALs for? Is this a bug? I saw a notice that
the RTM version had counted the default exchange active sync policy as an ecal requirement but I figured this would have been fixed by now.

looks like it has reared its head in update rollup 8-v2 for sp3. Last year I was playing around with the archive mailbox to see if it was something we may want to implement. At the time our enterprise cal requirements went from 0 to 1 for the test system
I was using. This ended up being something we did not want to pursue at the time so I disabled the option on the account. Happened to run the organizational health link today and now it says that all accounts need enterprise cals. Did not appear to be an issue
    in update 7.
