Hi Sue,
Yep - irritating.
2 options:
1. Use the SAP EP 6.0 UWL as your SRM inbox - where of course you do have the preview pane.
2. Custom coding - e.g. read the work item long text, replace variables and display the whole thing in a tooltip against the work item line. Not fun.
But the thing is - if you've made it that far, why not just open the work item and look at the shopping cart itself?  You can always use sRM screen variants to tailor what columns are included in the SRM item overview, there are icons that highlight if there are any attachments or notes to look at and everything.
You really need to work through the process with your users - otherwises you'll do a whole lot of development that they don't use anyway.
By the way, you can also turn off the approve/reject icons in the inbox list by changing the Dynamic Columns in inbox settings.  Much safer.

  • Customer Workflows Not Working from SRM Inbox

    Hi everyone,
    We are upgrdaing our EBP v3.5 system to SRM 5.0 (SRM SERVER 5.5 SP 5).
    We are using integrated ITS and have many bespoke workflows which need to executeable in the SRM inbox via the integrated ITS and ultimately the portal (EP 7.0).
    We have various issues with our bespoke workflows not working. The 2 errors we have found are:
    1. When the users click on the workitem from the SRM inbox they sometimes see 'Service Cannot be Reached' error.
    2. Other times they see the workitem details with no user decision buttons shown.
    3. Other times the user decision buttons are shown but if the user clicks on one, they see a blank page with text "workitem currently locked by user WF_BATCH" at the top. This is an 'advance with dialog' task which works fine via SAPGUI.
    Any ideas on any of the specific issues, or anything which we need to do generally to get custom workitems to be executeable via the ITS?
    Thanks a lot,
    Nick

    Hi abhijit,
    I checked that but I set it to blank in debug mode..but its still disappearing...the button disappears after pressing enter on error message.
    actually the BADI when I implemented there is one method where I set E_ADD_ON_ACTIVE flag to 'X' to bring that button(recommended by SAP). that method is not getting called...

  • SRM inbox

    Hi All,
              I'm suddenly getting the following strange issues in the SRM inbox  ( SRM 5.0 )
    1. The Long text of the workitem is visible at the bottom of the screen but the workitem does not appear in the list .
    2. Employee creates shopping cart , and approval workitem is being sent to the employee himself instead of the approver . After some time  the workitem vanishes from the employee inbox and moves into the manager inbox .
    So in effect , the employee or the approver is seeing the long text at the bottom of the screen without a workitem in the list , sometimes workitems which he is not responsible for etc but this is automatically getting corrected after a few minutes .
    Looks like a refresh issue but cannot track down why this is happening . This is urgent as we are going live in a few weeks .

  • When approving a PO through SRM inbox, the 'Back to Approval' link ismissin

    When approving a PO through SRM inbox, the 'Back to Approval' link ismissing

    The issue that you have reported is not a bug, but a strandard. Once the
    application is integrated to the Portal, the navigation between screens/
    transaction is handled differently and should not be compared to ITS.
    In EP, you will have to use the Portal's 'Back' button to navigate back.
    Please refer to note # 933450 as the correction is the same for this
    issue also.
    The link has been removed because navigation in EP is handled
    differently as compared to ITS. In EP you use the EP's navigation and
    not ITS links like ('Back to Sourcing') or ('Return to Change Version')

  • Identify if Approved via SRM inbox or by email

    Hi,
    Is there a way of identifying which Shopping Carts were 'Approved' from within the SRM inbox and which ones via email?
    Regards,
    John

    Basically if a SC approved via offline email, It should be proceed by WF-BATCH user ID (I mean the inbound email) and passed the decision to the workitem.. There should be some standard workflow table should be there to store this log..
    I will try to find you..
    Note: your concentration should be more on workflow standards tables only..
    Thanks!!

  • Regarding SAP SRM Inbox configuration

    Hello Guys,
    We are in the process of configuring the SRM workflow approvals in Portal.
    We made the basic mandatory configurations and we are able to see the workitems in the UWL.
    But unfortunately, we need configure the Inbox iView comes with the SAP SRM business package to work.
    With the configurations recommended, we manage to get the workitems in the standard Inbox iView.
    Only the header items are shown and when opened, a new window opens with just the header. Information of the workitems are not shown. But the same is shown in Universal Worklist.
    We are just wondering what could be wrong.
    Any suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vivek

    Hello Siddharth,
    Thanks for the quick response.
    I think it is POWL. After making some entries in the SRM system table, we are able to get the workitems in the Inbox view, but no details were displayed.
    We tries modifying the xml
    <ItemType name="uwl.task.webflow.srm.TS93107952" connector="WebFlowConnector"
    defaultView="DefaultView" defaultAction="launchSAPAction" executionMode="default">
    <ItemTypeCriteria systemId="SAP_SRM" externalType="TS93107952" connector="WebFlowConnector"/>
    <Action name="launchSAPAction" groupAction="" handler="SAPIACLauncher" returnToDetailViewAllowed="yes" launchInNewWindow="yes"
    launchNewWindowFeatures="resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,directories=no">
    <Properties>
    <Property name="display_order_priority" value="5"/>
    <Property name="newWindowFeatures" value="resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,directories=no"/>
    <Property name="openInNewWindow" value="yes"/>
    <Property name="IAC" value="BBPCF02"/>
    </Properties>
    </Actions>
    </ItemType>
    We just want to see the workitem details like we do in the UWL.
    Thanks and regards,
    Vivek

  • Moving workitems between SRM inboxes

    Is there a way I can move work items from multiple user inboxes to a single inbox? I can use swi2_freq to view their items, but don't seem to be able to move the items or reassign an different agent. Is there an easy solution to this? I have lots of workitems I want to process, but they are spread out in many inboxes so I'm having to log-in and out of each user to process them. It would be much quicker if I could just move them all to one user and process them that way. Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance

  • Modifying SRM 7.0 Portal standard iview

    Hi Experts,
    we are implementing SRM7.0 standard business packages with EP7.01. In purchasing tab ( which is a standard portal role comes alongwith SRM7.0 BPs )under purchasing link in detail navigation we can see the table for displaying all the shopping carts. Here we are getting number of columns such as shopping cart number, shopping cart name etc.
    We want to reduce the number of columns in this table. I tried implementing the below solution but the problem is that this setting only per user. It's not happening centrally for all the users. Please check below the steps which I did and let me know the correct solution for this.
    1 . click on the Settings button
    2 . and go to Display tab
    3 . now you can change "Display Columns" from all to for example 6 and then save  it as the new View.
    Do you know if there is a way to change it globally across the system? Can we change "Standard View"  or apply custom one to all users?
    Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

    iView personalization at Portal level might not be the right idea for SRM Portal iViews using Web Dynpro for ABAP.
    Such customizations are to be carried out at the SRM / ECC level.

  • How can I modify my inbox ?

    Is there a possibilty that I only show my unread emails in the inbox with the opened emails hidden.
    Thx for your reply
    Toon

    Hi and welcome to the forms!
    Your options are to hide the sent and filed messages. What you can do is save the rest of the opened, and keep a cleared mailbox.
    Just make sure you empty the saved messages often, to prevent to much device memory use,

  • Filtering workitems from SRM approval Inbox

    Is there a way to filter non shopping cart related workitems from the "Approval" in box in SRM. We have some custom workflows for E-forms and would like filter these from showing up in the SRM approval inbox.
    Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
    Regards,
    Ram Enaganti.

    Hi Ram,
    Just curious - if the users aren't going to receive the e-forms work items from the SRM system in their SRM inbox then how are they ever going to execute them?
    The easy answer (assuming you have Portal) is to pull all your SRM work into the Universal Worklist and use the UWL configuration to create different views for the different types of work.
    Trying to do the same thing in SRM would be a pain and would involve modifying either function module BW02 or the BBPAPPROVAL html templates.

  • SRM / Shipping cart

    Hi SRM Gurus
    I have the following requirement in SRM,Please tell me how to modify the SRM shipping cart
    Modify SRM Functionality
    1.     Modify the SRM functionality to support an “embedded form” requiring additional information’s like Material Description, Internal note, Quantity, Unit, Price, Currency type, Material Category, Required on date to be part of the PO requisition based on price logic at the line item level. If the value of the particular line item goes above USD 7000. Then only the new fields with embedded forms to be populated keyed from a specific dollar amount (i.e. > $7000) and material group code
    Approval Process – (Discretionary)
    1.     The approval workflow requirement will be available to the “Approvers” for a review.  The logic on the price (it is >$7000) and the material categories variable should be configurable (modified) if the price limit needs to be modified.  When Purchasing changes the dollar amount the targeted (above it is >$7000) for this form to appear and should be able to modify this requirement.
    2.     Add the  “embedded form “ to the workflow going to the BU President for approval. The categories pertaining to Discretionary spend are:
    ·     Advertising
    ·     Marketing
    ·     Professional Services
    ·     Training
    ·     IS / IT
    ·     Legal
    ·     Meetings and Conventions
    3.     All Material Group codes associated with the above categories are to be included in this request for systems change.
    4.     Approver must be able to view the Purchase Order Form, during the approval process and Approval or rejection cannot be completed until the form is displayed and the Approver acknowledges the form. This acknowledgement is done by a “ Yes or No “ approval of the document.
    SRM " Embeded from" including discretionary and NON-discretionary items - Additional
    1.     ALL PO Requisitions discretionary and NON-discretionary items, all material categories and Total price greater than or equal to $50,000.00 must have the completed required fields from the PO request form and must be forwarded and approved by the BU President and must be directed via Workflow to the CFO for final approval.
    Regards,
    L Srikanthan.

    Hi
    <b>Please go through this -></b>
    For (1), (2) and (3) you ned to create Active Custom Implementation, using the BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI using SE18 Transaction for filter type - BUS2121(Shopping cart). Read the relevant SAP documentation using SE18 Transaction, before implementing this BADI.
    For (4) point, you can implement - we use BADI - BBP_WFL_APPROV_BADI / BBP_DOC_CHECK_BADI.
    For this point,
    "ALL PO Requisitions discretionary and NON-discretionary items, all material categories and Total price greater than or equal to $50,000.00 must have the completed required fields from the PO request form and must be forwarded and approved by the BU President and must be directed via Workflow to the CFO for final approval."
    - We have to implement the BADI - BBP_DOC_CHECK_BADI for filter type BUS2121 (shopping cart) to make the required/mandatory fields, by issuing a custom message added in ET_MESSAGES[] table.
    <u>Try to code your logic in using BBP_DOC_CHECK_BADI for filter type - BUS2121 (shopping cart). You need to add your custom message in ET_MESSAGES [] table.</u>
    <b>For sample coding, refer to the link below -></b>
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/srm/bbp_doc_check_badi-CheckPurchasingDocument&
    <b>Hope this will definitely help.</b>

  • Vendor Issue in SRM

    Hi All,
    I have question regarding vendor mapping to purchase organization and company code.
    I am working on SRM 4.0. Suppose I created a shopping cart for company code A and purchase organization X using vendor XYZ.
    This vendor is defined for only company code B and purchase organization X at the backend.
    Logically the PO(extend classic scenario) should not get replicated to backend as company code for the  vendor is not correct in the shopping cart.
    But in my case it is getting successfully replicated.
    Please let me know what should be the standard behavior.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Archana

    Hello Archana,
    Behaviour you describe is SAP R/3 standard. I don't remember if you will have the same process (i mean no checks at PO creation in R/3) with an existing info-record.
    If yes, you need to make your own checks in SRM using R/3 RFC call on vendor data to test if your SC company code makes part of vendor company codes.
    A more elaborate solution is to modify SRM vendor search-help in order to add company code as a search criteria.
    Summary also in this thread:
    [Vendor filtered by Company Code and not Purchasgin Organization|Vendor filtered by Company Code and not Purchasgin Organization;
    Regards.

  • Inbox Substitution Restricting

    Hi,
    I have got a requirement which says
    "User should be restricted to create substitute who is equal or higher approval authority."
    Scenario 1:
    When a user clicks on the "Find" button it should display the users who are equal or above his/her level in the Org Hierarchy based on the approval limit of the user.
    Scenario 2:
    If the user enters the substitutes user id or name and clicks on "add" button without using the 'Find', validation should occur and pop up a message if the substitute is below the user level in the Org Hierarchy.
    I have gone through sdn on this.. Many posts say, "its better to train the users whom they can substitute for".
    Let me know if you have any ideas on how to achieve this...
    User clicks on the "Substitute" in the SRM inbox not the SBWP inbox.
    Regards,
    PR.

    I have found the solution for my requirement.
    Brief outline of the reqt:
    User should delegate approval authority to another approver with equal or higher approval authority.
    sol:
    Include LBW02F01 contains " Form  D1328_FIND_DEPUTIES" which fetches the approvers based on the search criteria.
    gt_deputies table is the one in which the users are stored.
    By Enhancement option i was able to add code and remove the unwanted users from gt_deputies table.
    Hence closing this.

  • How many days completed task reside in SRM

    Dear Experts,
    Does any boday has any idea on Completed task in SRM inbox. How long will completed tasks remain visible in the completed list?
    Is it possible for an SRM user to remove the completed tasks or can the system be set up to automatically remove the completed tasks after a certain time frame from completion of the task?
    Please let me know if any has any information on this.
    Thanks in advance.

  • SBWP in SRM

    Hi,
    I want a work item in my SRM inbox, but it should appear to the user in his SRM inbox on web, and when he executes it, it should show him any page like the shopping cart/PO create change etc. Only that page will be developed by me with one custom field, which the user can populate...
    I"m aware that I should use services or something like that, to achieve this...but not sure how to do it...
    Regards,
    Vijay

    Hi
    For this you need to make modifications to the HTML Templates in the Internet Service - BBPBWSP (Either in BBPAPPROVAL or BBPBWSP Service ) and call your custom web page from that template. You need to take care of all your logic without affecting the standard HTML Template functionality.
    Beware, this might require expert knowledge in HTML and Internet Programming.
