Monitor Unrecognized Through DisplayPort, OK Through HDMI w/ R9 270X

I just upgraded from Sapphire AMD R7 260X to Sapphire R9 270X and am having issues with the DisplayPort. I get the wrong resolutions and unknown monitor only when connecting through DP, but everything works fine through HDMI. I am using an ASUS PB278Q 27" monitor at 1440p. The DP worked fine on the R7 260X. I was able to manually add my resultion using this xrandr guide but of course this does not persist through reboot,  is quite annoying, and should not be necessary. Does this sound like a hardware bug to anyone? Should I be contacting Sapphire?

Your EDID is probably invalid.
Looks like VBE was successful. Have a good day.

This is still a problem with the 3.19 kernel in testing as of today.

  • Dual Monitors with Zotac DisplayPort to Dual HDMI Adaptor?

Has anyone had the chance to try the "ZOTAC DisplayPort to Dual HDMI Adaptor" with the MacBook Pro's yet?
    http://www.zotacusa.com/zotac-displayport-to-dual-hdmi-adaptor.html
I'm currently using a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort adapter to connect to the Zotac device, but I'm not having any luck on getting the MBP to detect the displays.  I wonder if I need a specific adapter, or rather just a mini-displayport to mini-displayport?

FYI, the ZOTAC mini-displayport to Dual HDMI Adaptor doesn't quite work as advertised on my 2009 MBP 13.  Under MAC OS X 10.6.8, limited to 2560 x 1024.  (That's spread across the two external displays, as expected.)  If you try 3840, the external screens just flicker madly.  Under (bootcamp) XP, also limited to 2560.  3840 is not even presented as an option.
I know my monitors support 1920.  Indeed, if I unplug either of them from the Zotac box, I can get full 1920 resolution on the other.
The reduced resolution is at least usable since I use this setup just to write code.  It's frustrating though.  Maybe it's due to my older laptop.  I've read of this working better on newer MBPs.

  • No Audio through DisplayPort in W500(Displayport to HDMI)

I have issue in getting audio when i use DisplayPort to HDMI cable to connect  HDTV with  in W500(ATI mobility FireGL V5700 ) with Lenova provided driver 8.752.4-101022a-107489C
But from ATI website can i use Driver version 8.773.1.1 for W500 ATI mobility FireGL V5700 TO SOLVE the audio over display port to HDMI Issue?
HDMI option is not shown up when i press Fn + F6 (advanced audio)
Is there any separate audio drivers for this model ?
Can i able to install microsoft HD audio UAA driver for this model?
In 2009  forums  , Intel limitation was mentioned . I thought by this time any fix available for this issue
This model has discrete switcable graphics option between (intel AMT and ATI fireGL mobility)   And ATI has the feature of Display port audio  , HDMI audio from the latest drivers.
Does it mean Lenova have n't integrated the latest reference driver from ATI to solve the issue?
Any way to enable audio in BIOS level ?
I heard the same model with NVIDIA graphics card can able to get audio through display port to HDMI cable
    Thanks in advance

This wiki page says it is possible for w500
    http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/DisplayPort
Audio over DisplayPort when used in conjunction with a DisplayPort to HDMI conversion cable is confirmed to work on W500, T410 and T510 both on integrated and discrete graphics options on Windows systems.
    So it is confusing.
please justify for the reply/answers so that we can conclude.

  • Can we monitor the CAN bus load through a vi

Is there a way to monitor the CAN bus load through a vi? I am using USB 8473 to establish a CAN communication.
    Thank You,
    -Raghu

    Hi Raghu,
Are you referring to fuctionality similar to the percentage bus load the NI CAN Bus Monitor shows?
If so, there are no built-in LabVIEW VIs that access this information.  You would have to use the available CAN VIs and implement it yourself.
Alternativly, if you only need this for testing, you can use another NI CAN device on the bus to monitor the bus load and then simply remove this device for deployment.
    Hope this helps!

  • Can someone recommend a Mini Displayport Female to HDMI cord/adapter?

I would like to get an Apple 27" to use with my PC, which has both HDMI and DVI inputs. Thanks!

Please clearify which Apple 27" display you want to connect.  Is the the 2010 model which uses a mini-displayport.  Or is it the current thunderbolt model.
If it's the TB model you're out of luck.  You cannot connect a TB device to anything other that TB.
    Confusing Mini DisplayPort with Thunderbolt
I generally recommend monoprice.com for cables and components.  But a female mini-displayport adaptor to hdmi may be a problem to find.
Note, for DVI, if you want to use a 27" to it's full resolution you need dual-link DVI if you decide to use a DVI port.  Also DVI does not pass audio.

  • Imac 27" Intel Core 7 CPU. Screen goes black and will not respond except with a push of power button. Second monitor connected via displayport continues to display fine. Apply Store did full hardware scan and all is fine. Did clean wipe from Mavrick back

Imac 27" Intel Core7  CPU 16 Gig RAM. Screen goes black and will not respond except with a push of power button. Second monitor connected via displayport continues to display fine. Apply Store did full hardware diagnostic and all is fine. Did clean wipe from Mavrick back to Mountain Lion but problem remains. Apple Store can do no more.

I did some more digging, it appears to be a backlight problem only. I can see the screen very dimly if I use a bright flashlight in a very dark room. It also seems to run ok if the brightness is turned down a LOT.
So I'm thinking this is a LED driver board issue or the display itself. I'll open it up and check the connection between the two and see if I can get any more clues. At least I can use it somewhat now by dimming the display significantly...

Are you using a stereo receiver or surround sound system for the audio by chance.  What you are describing sounds like a receiver that is not setup correctly, or does not have the speakers connected to it correctly to support Dolby surround, 5.1 or 7.1.  Which is why it is only happening on some content.  It would only be on the ones that are encoded to support Dolby audio.

So today I tried the 4.0-rc6 kernel using the linux-git pack in the AUR repository. I can now use my DisplayPort! However, `get-edid` still throws errors and my display is 'unknown' to Cinnamon.
Update: It's not always reliable. Sometimes I reboot and it's back to it's old tricks

  • New 13" Macbook Pro trying to connect to a Panasonic VIERA TC-L42U30 as second monitor. I've used multiple hdmi-thunderbolt/mini displayport adapters and multiple hdmi cables and still no success. The Macbook does not sense the second monitor (TV). Help?!

I've been a Mac since 2008, so I know my way around the system pretty well. This issue, however, has me stumped. I had an iMac until now and only now am I experiencing some difficulty with my new MacBook Pro. The model I have is the newest 13" Macbook Pro model and I'm trying to connect a Panasonic VIERA TC-L42U30 42" HDTV as a second monitor via the Thunderbolt port.
It worked the first two times and hasn't worked since, after 10-15 attempts with different configurations, turning things on n off, restarting the mac, unplugging the cables, adapters, TV, resetting the P RAM, etc... I've used multiple hdmi-thunderbolt/mini displayport adapters and multiple hdmi cables and still no success. No matter what I do, the Macbook does not sense the TV as a second monitor anymore.
I took the MacBook Pro to the Apple Store, and their "genius" there had it working fine with a DVI connection to a regular monitor. The Panasonic TV I have has HDMI connections and one VGA connection which does not support HD, but no DVI option. I want an HD connection to mirror or extend my MacBook Pro screen. At the Apple Store, they didn't have a Thunderbolt/Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, so he could not try that out for me.
Anyone else have this configuration or another similar one with a Panasonic HDTV?
    Ideas? Suggestions? Anything?! Help!!
P.S. I'm running Mountain Lion, if that wasn't already obvious. Everything is up to date in my App Store as well.
    Thanks!

    Hi There,
I have had the exact same issue but with a projector.
The issue lies with Mountian Lion 10.8.2.
I tried many a combination with no luck to get HDMI working.
Took my mac into the apple store and came to the conclusion it was the software, so I asked them to install 10.8 onto it (this is destructive so a backup is a must)
Bought my macbook home and voila, now displaying through my projector.
There is a small graphics update after 10.8.1 which seems to be the cause.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

I have a HP Elitedesk 600GI which has DisplayPort and VGA. I would like to connect to a projector which has both HDMI and VGA. I would like to free the VGA cable for any other computer that might need to project through the same projector while i connect Elitedesk to HDMI cable with the help of a DisplayPort to HDMI adaptor. My callenge is the HDMI connection is not working without connecting the VGA cable as well. Is there a way to deal with this? Your help will be highly appreciated.

    Hi,
You might get better assistance on the HP Enterprise Business Forum since you have a business class PC.
You might need an "active" display port adapter rather than a "passive" adapter.
