Moving a dataobject record into an external DS

Hi,
My situatiion is like, after a particular field in a data object gets populated, I want to delete that row in the data object and move that particular row to an external data source table.
How can I use BAM alerts to move one data object row into an external data source table? Pls suggest!
Thanks

You could use the web services action in the alert to write the data to an external store . There is a webservices doc under BAM 11g technotes that will be useful.
This should be the first thing triggered from the alert.
Then the next action in the alert should be to delete the row which fulfills a particular criteria

  • Can not insert record into database

    Hi:
    I have problem with inserting a record into oracle database .
    can some one please give some help?
    I created a project which connected to a external database. My project is on one of the tables called family.
    I followed the steps in the example "TwoPageCrudTable" from "Technical Articles & Tips". I have 3 pages: family,
    family_create and family_update.
    In page family: I have one table which bound to family table in db.
    In page family_create, I have a bunch of text fields
    In page family_update, I also have a lot of text fields which are bound to the fields of the family table.
    In each of the page, there is a dataprovider, they all refer to the same rowset in the sessionbean.
    Here is my code of create button:
    public String create_action() {
    if ( familyDataProvider.canAppendRow() ) {
    try {
    RowKey rowKey = familyDataProvider.appendRow();
    familyDataProvider.setCursorRow(rowKey);
    familyDataProvider.setValue("family.familyID", rowKey, fid.getText());
    // familyDataProvider.setValue("family.countryoforigin", rowKey, counOrigin.getText());
    // familyDataProvider.setValue("family.ELOD", rowKey, elod.getValue());
    // familyDataProvider.setValue("family.power", rowKey, power.getValue());
              familyDataProvider.commitChanges();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    error("Cannot append new family: " + e);
    } else {
    error("Cannot append a new row");
    return "created";
    FamilyID is the primary key of the family table which is type of String. There are also some other
    fields with String or Number. I tried to insert a new record with value in all the fields and with
    only some of the fields, neither succeeded. I also did a search in this forum and tried some of the
    suggestions, no help. So could anybody help me to find the problem? Thanks in advance.

    It keeps giving me the error:
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: FAMILY.FAMILYID
    Does anybody know what is the problem? Thanks!

  • Loading multiple physical records into a logical record

    Hello,
    I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this thread.
    I have to import data from a fixed length positioned text file into a oracle table using sql loader.
    My sample input file (which has 3 columns) looks like:
    Col1 Col2 Col3
    1 A abcdefgh
    1 A ijklmnop
    1 A pqrstuv
    1 B abcdefgh
    1 B ijklmn
    2 A abcdefgh
    3 C hello
    3 C world
    The above text file should be loaded into the table as:
    Col1 Col2 Col3
    1 A abcdefghijklmnpqrstuv
    1 B abcdefghijklmn
    2 A abcdefgh
    3 C helloworld
    My question: Is there a way tht i can use the logic of loading multiple physical records into a logical record in my oracle tables. Please suggest.
    Thanks in advance.

    Kulash,
    Thanks for your reply.
    The order of the concatenated strings is important as the whole text is split into several physical records in the flat file and has to be combined into 1 record in Oracle table.
    My scenario is we get these fixed length input files from mainframes on a daily basis and this data needs to be loaded into a oracle table for reporting purpose. It needs to be automated.
    Am still confused whether to use external table or a staging table using sql loader. Please advise with more clarity as am a beginner in sql loader. Thanks.I still think an external table would be better.
    You can create the external table like this:
    CREATE TABLE     fubar_external
    (      col1     NUMBER (2)
    ,      col2     VARCHAR2 (2)
    ,      col3     VARCHAR2 (50)
    ORGANIZATION  EXTERNAL
    (       TYPE             ORACLE_LOADER
         DEFAULT DIRECTORY  XYZ_DIR
         ACCESS PARAMETERS  (
                                 RECORDS DELIMITED BY     NEWLINE
                          FIELDS  (   col1        POSITION (1:2)
                                      ,   col2        POSITION (3:4)
                               ,   col3        POSITION (5:54)
         LOCATION        ('fubar.txt')
    );where XYZ_DIR is the Oracle Directory on the database server's file system, and fubar.txt is the name of the file on that directory. Every day, when you get new data, just overwrite fubar.txt. Whenever you query the table, Oracle will read the file that's currently on that directory. You don't have to drop and re-create the table every day.
    Note that the way you specify the columns is similar to how you do it in SQL*Loader, but the SEQUENCE generator doesn't work in external files; use ROWNUM instead.
    Do you need to populate a table with the concatenated col3's, or do you just need to display them in a query?
    Either way, you can reference the external table the same way you would reference a regular, internal table.

  • Moving a folder in applications to external hard drive

    Hello! So background story: I recently started moving all of my photos, music, and video library from my Macintosh HD to my external hard drive. I do have my Adobe CS4 suite installed on my Mac HD, and it is a folder inside 'Applications.'
    So here is my question...
    If I simply drag-n-drop into my External HD, will it copy a) the applications and b) all of the, you know, 'background files' that keep it running and such, or will it just copy the applications and lose all of the other information that may be tagged along with it hidden somewhere else in the HDD?
    I was a PC user back in the day, and I know this happened alot with Windows, where an application would have other hidden files attached to it somewhere...
    Thank you!

    Moving applications off of the system drive is a bad idea.
    Many will not run at all. Some will run but have problems.
    The install to do updates will not be abloe to find applications that have been reloacted.
    I strongly recommend against  moving the applications.
    Moving the data is fine.

  • I moved my itunes library to an external hard drive and now when I try to sync my ipad it says it is already synced to another library.

    I moved my itunes library to an external hard drive and then I tried to sync my ipad.  I got a message that says my ipad is synced to another library and it will erase my ipad, which I don't want to do.   I'm not sure how to fix this problem, any ideas?

    Ok. progress...
    So is your media folder called iTunes Music or iTunes Media? And does it have a folder called Music inside it?
    Before going any further you should first attempt to use File > Library > Organize Library > Rearrange files in the folder "<Media Folder>" (ignore if grayed out). This will make sure that any iPod Games or Mobile Applications get placed inside the iTunes Media folder which is needed for portability.
    If your iTunes Media folder is called iTunes Music, close iTunes, rename the folder as iTunes Media and start iTunes again. iTunes will automatically adjust. Close iTunes again.
    On your external drive rearrange the folders that you have already copied there so that they match the layout in your active library. You should end up with a folder called X:\iTunes where X: is the external drive letter, and the media folder is X:\iTunes\iTunes Media. If the library layout was upgraded then you will need to create a Music folder inside this and move all the artist folders and Compilations into Music. You will also need to copy iPod Games and Mobile Applications from your internal drive into the new media folder. Next copy the files iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Library Extras.itdb, iTunes Library Genius.itdb, sentinel and the folder Album Artwork from the internal drive into X:\iTunes. The preceding manipulations should make the internal and external copies of your library match without you having to copy all of the media over again.
    Now hold shift as you start iTunes. Click choose, browse to and open X:\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl.
    Finally use File > Library > Organize Library > Consolidate files. This will ensure that any stray files that might have been added from outside your original media folder will be copied into the new one.
    You can now reclaim the space used by your library on the internal drive, however before you do so I would advise you to obtain another external drive and make use of this backup tip.

  • Moving the iMovie app to an external drive

    I currently download a lot of video each day into iMovie and I am constantly running into an issue where I am out of hard-drive disk space. It really limits how much video I can work on at one time. I called and spoke with a member of the Apple Support App Team and he advised that I move the iMovie app to an external hard drive to resolve the issue. I have since done that, but the video clips are still saving to my internal hard-drive instead of the external hard-drive where the app is. When I moved the iMovie app to the external hard-drive, I disconnected the external hard-drive and deleted the app from my internal hard-drive. After emptying the trash, I re-connected the external hard-drive and opened iMovie and began importing movie clips. A little while later, I ran Omni Disk Sweeper and all of the clips that I imported still show on my internal and meanwhile, the external's capacity is only showing the iMovie app itself and no clips. Any ideas on how I can route the clips to the external instead of my Mac's internal hard-drive?

    Instead of moving the iMovie application, click here and follow the instructions.

  • Vinyl records into my imac

    I would like to know if anyone could tell me the easy way to get my old vinly records into my computer?

    I ran a cable from the RCAs on my turntable to the mic input of my iMac, and imported the vinyl using Audacity. It's a free software that is pretty intuitive and has some basic features like removing pops.
    It was a long process for me - just over 500 45s, equal to more than 1,000 tracks. I cleaned the records first, then streamed them in one by one, saving each 45 (side A and B) as an Audacity file. After all were imported, I moved to Phase 2: exporting the Audacity files to 320kbps mp3 tracks.
    I would recommend you import a few, then export them, just to test the process. I ended up having to re-import about half because I had streamed them in at a high volume and the audio was peaking out. It's probably better to import them at a lower volume, as you can always boost it up in Audacity.
    Oh, and some other advice... KEEP YOUR VINYL!!

  • Using Crystal 2008 to insert records into a table

    Hi,
    We have a unique need to use Crystal to insert records into a table. We have managed to test a report that can write into a temporary table.  This is done by using sql command object  and uses  the following code :
    INSERT INTO TEMP_TABLE  (ORDERID)
    VALUES ({?orderid})   (-- where orderid a parameter).
    This test report asks for an order id and then inserts the record perfectly fine.
    Now moving on to the real report - This report basically prints orders in batches and we want to insert order id into a temporary table to ensure we don't print orders that were already printed. To do this we created a sub report "insert orders" that has the above insert command. The main report passes the orderid to subreport and the idea is that the subreport would insert each time an order is passed. So if main report printed 50 orders ids, the then it would do 50 inserts individually into the temp table.
    This however is NOT working. The report runs fine but there is no insert.  Our hunch is that  Crystal is not committing after every order id is passed from the main report.  Not sure if we can set the AUTO COMMIT ON  as a default somewhere?
    Wondering if any one has attempted this or has any insights?
    Regards,
    Mohit.
    Environment is - Crystal 2008 and Oracle 11GR2, we are using Oracle drivers (and not odbc)

    Hmmm... I don't use Oracle but the syntax looks good...
    You've already tested it and I assume that you are using the same driver in the production report as you used in the test, so that shouldn't be an issue...
    how are you pulling the data? Is the final SELECT statement that pulls the report data in the same command as the INSERT script, or is the INSERT script in it's own command?
    The reason I ask... If you are trying to pass a multi-valued parameter to a command, it won't work. If you have the insert command as it's own command while the data is being pulled with linked tables or a separate command, it is possible that the report itself will execute as expected w/o passing a value to the insert script.
    If it's all in 1 command (as it should be), a bad parameter would fail in the final SELECT causing an error.
    Also... are rows null or empty string values being added to table when the report executes? This would be an indication that the command is being executed but isn't getting the parameter value.

  • Rejected records into different Table.

    Hi ,
    I have a .ctl file and .txt file. for the normal scenario, I use SQLLDR to load data into my table using ctl file and all rejected records will be sent to bad files. But I wanted all the unloaded or Bad records into different table.
    do we have any attributes in sqlldr to accomplish this?
    Regards
    Bala.

    Bala,
    You can load bad file (rejected records) in different table with all the column defined as varchar2 using sqlldr or external table. But you have to defined another table with all the columns as varchar2 and load it up using a different sqlldr control file, you can also consider using external table to load bad file (bad records).

  • How to get audio from a tape recorder into FCE?

    Hello All,
    I have a older Sony TC-D5 tape recorder (the sound recording is still extremely good and, in fact, much better than any of my digital camcorders at 16bit). My question is: how can I get this into FCE4? The TC-D5 has a left and right RCA audio out plugs. If I plug that into the external mic connection in my intel iMac will FCE4 recognize this as an audio source? Is there some other way I'm not thinking of?
    Thanks for your help.
    Mike

    Hi Ian, Martin and Michael
    If I understand you, you'd like to shoot sound with your TC-D5, and Video with your Canon HV20 - Correct?
    If so, I suppose you're getting better audio quality with the AKG and Tape set up. Of course you'd be limited to shooting where there's AC Power available and logistics with your set up.
    In any event, sure I'd give it a try, but as Ian pointed, be prepared to fiddle and jiggle the sound around on the Audio Track to get it in sync. Tape Speeds are subject to change. There are a few tricks you can use to cue your tape recording to when you start filming; (Ian's Tips)
    But there are also other methods, (as Ian Pointed out), probably many dozens to choose from. If you're able to use/barrow a mixer you can still use your AKG. Other methods; Using an overhead boom with a really good shotgun Mic. The approaches are endless.
    In regard to strickly narrative, I've settled on a combo of both an Audio Techinca Lapel Mic and an Audio Technica Shotgun Mic. You can hear some of this in my trailer below.
    Don't forget Michael, as long as you get 'SOLID' audio with strong peaks and no distortion, with minimum background noise, you can always choose dozens of Post Audio applications, (including FC's plug-ins).
    Good to see you both again Martin and Ian!

  • Adding an Array of Objects into an external Web-Service

    Hi all,
    I want to populate an Array of Objects into an external Web-Service which I have introspected into BPM. But I am finding it difficult to do so which should be very easy I guess.
    When i use the EXTEND keyword for adding the array of objects, it gives me the following parameters which are not required:-
    testArray.records.extend(name : "", attributes : null, value : "", children : {  }, tagName : "", namespace : "", isNil : false);
    I only need to populate the name and value pairs and do not need to populate others. But there is no way for me to do this.. How do I populate other parameters or skip them especially
    children which is a Fuego.Xml.XMLObject[].. How do I populate that? How do I populate attributes which is an associative array and not required..
    Is there a proper documentation of consuming external Web-Services into BPM?

    Very interesting, I am going to have to really break this down and see if I can make sense out of it with my 300 lines of code LOL.
    I think this may jsut work at first glance and will let you know!
    It works. We all use it all of the time. The old Add-Member was a big pain in the neck.  InPowerShell V2 New-Object -Property ws added to take a hash of name/value pairs and convert them into an object in one step.  It is faster and more reliable.
    $myprops=@{
        Name='joe'
        Birthdate=[datetime]'02-12-1965'
        Weight=[int]130
        Married=$false
        Flags=[byte]0x3F
    # we can change a value on the fly
    $myprops.Weight+=5  # adjust weight for liars
    New-Object PsObject -Property $myprops
    OR get name=value pairs from a file and make into an object
    $fileprops=Get-Content mydata.txt | ConvertFrom-StringData
    New-Object PsObject -Property $fileProps
    There are more than a dozen other variations of how to levcerage this to create objects out of other things like results from old DOS commands.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
