MRP purchase orders consolidation

Hi
In the MRP order recommendations section I would like to combine all the purchase orders that have the same supplier and due date but different item in each one.(one supplier is providing 200 different items for our company).
It is now consolidationg the total quantity of an item in 1 single purchase order but I was wondering if we can do the same for different  items from  the same supplier.
thanks for your help

There is a better way to do this.
On the order recommendation window, click the form settings window. Go to the document window. Select Consolidate Recommendations.
These are the rule for document grouping:
For purchase orders and purchase quotations, group recommendations with the same vendor into one purchase order or purchase quotation.
The consolidated document may contain multiple lines due to different warehouses, items, due dates, and delivery dates.
For production orders, group recommendations with the same due date into one production order.
You can manually change the Due Date for recommendations. After you make the changes, the application takes the changed due date into calculation.
For inventory transfer requests, group the recommendations with the same From Warehouse and Due Date.
Finally, if you have two lines in a PO order recommendation with different dates and you change the delivery date to the same date, it will become one line in a document and the quantities combined.
What sucks is that quantity based BP special prices do not get applied in the PO document for the new quantity based prices (if you set that up). When you try to change the pricing in the PO to force it to recalculate, it will not, as it appears to be using the order recommendation prices that were generated prior  to the PO creation. If you make a new line in the same PO for the same part, quantity based BP special prices will work. Go figure!
It also appears that a developer made some enhancements to the basic MRP to solve that issue. See slide 15.

  • MRP - Purchase Order recommended

    Hello,
Is it possible for MRP to recommend Purchase Orders to be created per warehouse(based on minimum inventory levels per warehouse). Currently, MRP recommends one Purchase Order with a total of the qty's across all the warehouses.
    e.g. Warehouse A Min Qty = 5
           Warehouse B Min Qty = 5
           Warehouse C Min Qty = 5
MRP recommends one Purchase order, Qty 15 and for Warehouse A.
    Thanks
    Janice

    Hi......
The only alternative would be to record the scene of the initial MRP to generate then all orders for a store, changing the numbers in the window of recommendations. Thus, in a second step, MRP run the wizard again to record the new scene will consider the remaining balances to successively make the process as many times as purchase orders from different stores there
    I hope it will help

  • Sales order - MRP - Purchase order

    Hi all,
I am making sales orders (item category TAN) for items which are not on the stock, after that I am rolling MRP (MD02) and in the final, I have lost the connection between Purchase Order and Sales Order.
Is possible to avoid this (maybe with other item category?)
    Thanku2019s.
    John

    Hi,
If you use third party process, sales order will be connected to your PR and (after converting the PR to PO), to the PO as well.
The same situation is with individual PO scenario.

As for normal purchasing process, if you are in MTO environment (e.g. planning startegy 20 in material master), your PR and PO will be connected to the SO (account assignment "E"). If you are in MTS environmenmt, you cannot achieve your goal.

  • Purchase order status in MRP run

    Hi Gurus,
I have a doubt in MRP run.
While doing the MRP run, can there be any open PO s or is it mandatory to close them.
Can you also please suggest me on how to run the MRP.

    Hi,
    MRP Run
    Purpose
The Material Requirements Planning (MRP) function enables you to plan material requirements for complex manufacturing processes. You use the MRP Wizard to create and run MRP scenarios. The MRP Wizard generates recommendations for the production and purchasing orders required to produce the final product on time and in the required quantity. You then use these recommendations to create production and purchase orders in the Order Recommendation Report.
The order recommendation cannot be issued for requirements that happened in the past (before the present day). Since the purchasing or production process cannot be completed in time, the MRP does not mix the real past data with new recommendations for the same period.
    Prerequisites
    ●     You have defined the
    ○     Planning system
    ○     Procurement method
    ○     Order mutliple
    ○     Minimum order
    ○     Lead time
See also: Item Master Data, Planning Data Tab.
    ●     You have set the time interval between orders. See also: Define Inventory Cycles.
    ●     You have defined the appropriate items as non-production bills of materials (if required). See  also: Item Master Data, General Tab.
    ●     You have defined default warehouses. See also: Define Warehouses.
    ●     You have defined forecasts. See also: Forecasts.
    ●     You have selected the Consume Forecast option to make the system exclude existing sales orders from the forecast. If this is not selected, the forecast considers existing sales orders as an additional requirement. See also: Sales Order.
    ●     You have set the planning definitions. If you chose Consume Forecast, you have defined the consumption method, days forward and days backward. See also: General Settings, Inventory Tab.
    Process Flow
           1.      Start the MRP Wizard.
           2.      Create a new MRP scenario or select an existing one. (See also: MRP Wizard: Select New or Existing Scenario.)
           3.      Define the parameters for your scenario, such as the planning horizon and item details.
You also choose your display preferences. (See also: MRP Wizard: Scenario Details.)
           4.      Define the data sources for requirements that you want to include in your MRP scenario.
For example, you define whether you want to consider the existing stock or the minimum stock level. You can also include a predefined forecast. (See also: MRP Wizard: Data Source.)
           5.      Save the scenario or run it.
After you run the scenario, the system displays the MRP Results.
If there are red figures in the result table, solve the problem and re-run the MRP.
           6.      Analyze the MRP results. You can display the final stock quantity before the MRP run or after it.
           7.      Save the recommendations and exit the MRP Wizard.
    Result
After completing the MRP Wizard, you still need to create the purchase and production orders in accordance with the MRP recommendations. See also: Order Recommendation Report.
    Hope this will help.

  • Open Purchase Orders not considered as requirement for MRP Run

    Hi ,
We are facing a issue of Open Purchase orders not appeared in Stock requirements list and also it is not considered as requirement for MRP Run against reservation.
As aresult for a reservation demand of 10 units we are ending with Open POs 10 units and a additional planned order 10 units.
    Material Type : ERSA
MRP Type : PD (or VB)
Lot size : EX (  HB if MRP Type is VB)
Could you please throw some light to correct our settings to MRP to consider Open POs?
    Saravanan

Can you check to see if there is a re-order point set up for this materia? That could be causing the problem too.

  • MRP Type V1 - How to take open Purchase Orders into consideration

hi I'm having a problem with a material which is setup as MRP type V1.
When running MRP using NEUPL a purchase requisition is created as expected based on re-order point on the material master. At this point the Purchase Req is converted to a PO, but the delivery date maybe pushed out before saving. Running MRP after pushing out the deliver date on Purchase Orer generates another Purchase Requistion with a delivery date before the PO. Is there a way to get MRP to take the open PO into consideration rather than suggesting another PO ?
Our planning horizon is set to 365 days.
Is it possible to get MRP to see the PO and not suggest a req ?
    Thanks for any help

I have checked the availability check and we are using one that is ticked to include purchase orders. this does not seem to have any effect.
The lead time on the item is 5 on the material master and 15 on the infor rec which is not that high ?
and when running MB02 for the item I am running with Create Purchase Requistion = 1
is it that what I'm expecting is unrealistic? i.e that for re-order point materials MRP is only going to take into account the lead times and if there is a Purchase Order with a delivery date outside of the leadtime the system will see that we need to reorder and generates a Req within the leadtime without looking out futher to see what's on order ?

  • Automatically creation of Purchase Order from MRP

Material type = ROH (raw material)
    In MRP1 I have mentioned
    1. RP type =VB ( manual reorder point planning)
    2.Reorder point = 1000
3.Lot size =FX (fixed order quantity)
    4. Fixed lot size = 300
In purchasing I have checked the automatic P.O. option
I have created a source list for the material and fixed the vendor for the material
Quantiy of the material in stock = 0
But Purchase Order is nor automatically generated during the MRP run ( MD03)
IS there any step missing ? please suggest if any .
    Thanks in advance .

    Hi,
As others suggested standrad SAP will not create PO as output of MRP.
You need to check why you need AUTO FUNCTION.however you can use T code ME59n to create auto PO from Preqs.
    About AUTO PO
One example is that while  taking delivery of the raw materials which are delivered by trucks and since it is not possible to capture the actual receipted quantity at the time of PO creation.
    To create AUTO PO
Check in customizing whether you have maintained creation of automatic PO during good receipt.
Menu path : MM -> Inventory Management -> Goods Receipt -> Create Purchase order Automatically -> Activate Auto PO creation for Mvt type and then activate Auto PO creation in vendor master.
    Hope this helps.

  • Creation of purchase order in MRP

    Hi All,
Is it possible to create purchase order as an output of MRP? If yes, then how?
    regards,
    Mohit

    Hi Mohit,
SAP has not provided such facility of directly creating the Purchase Order in MRP run, intentionally, so as to
    1. Provide an Authorization Level over the P.O. creation
    2. Provide a chance to change the Planned order or Purchase requizition before PO creation
    3. As this is a procurement proposal that is directly linked with the vendor, quantity and Price, it has to   be created very carefully.
    I hope you got it.
    with regards,

  • Creation of Purchase Order automatically via PR after mrp run.

    Hi Experts,
I want  to know that , after MRP run  i got the no of PR'S. As i know , through MD04  i can create purchase order from particular pr but is their any option from which purchase order  get generated automatically from pr's which are generated afrer MRP run.
    Thanks n Regards
    Anupam

    Hi,
You can maintain source list Tcode ME-01 and make it MRP relevant by selecting Sorce list MRP relevant. In sorce list you can maintain vendor and material data valid for particular period and make it MRP relevant.
With this you can automatically generate purchase order from Purchase requisitions after MRP Run.

  • Purchase Order Based on MRP

    Hi,
when ever i create PO from the order recommendation based on MRP i see same items in multiple rows.
For eg If raw material RM1 and RM2 are to be ordered based on MRP and required qty is RM1=10 , RM1-20, RM2=4, RM2=9
when i raise PO through Order recomd the PO takes 2 RM1 and 2 RM2 material in PO
Is it possible to consolidate this similar item in PO.
    swap

    Hi...
It seems strange that he says, because MRP Wizard by consolidating units of a single product when the delivery dates are the same. Now, what clearly if you can do is to select only one of the lines by modifying the quantities. The lines will be used is not possible to eliminate the recommendations so as not to lose the consistency of it.
I hope you will be helpful,
    Best regards,

  • MRP - firming Purchase Order dates for MRP run

We are using demand management and MRP to create purchase requisitions for external procurement. It works fine and creates purchase requisitions based on the monthly demand entered in MD61. However, if I have a purchase order with a delivery date of a few months in the future, MRP always asks me to reschedule the order to meet current demand. i.e. it reduces the quantity on a requisition because it expects the rescheduled PO to meet the demand. In addition, it creates a requisition for the full demand a few months out, even though I have a PO delivery on that date (as it expects me to move the PO to the current date) See example below
Does anyone how to get MRP to treat a PO delivery date as fixed or firmed and create requisitions based on this?
We are using MRP type PD,  a planning strategy that looks only at LSF in demand management and KSL in SD requirements.
    Thanks
    Donal
    Scenario:
    Current Stock:               500 KG
    Safety Stock Level:        1000 KG
    Demand:
    Aug: 1500
    Sep: 2000
    Oct: 3000
    PO del date 01.10.08 : 750 KG
When I run MRP it proposes the following
01.08.08 Requisition: 1250 KG. Aug demand (1500) + deficit below safety stock (500) = 2000 less PO that it is saying I should move to July (750). (I want this qty to be 2000)
    01.09.08 Requisition: 2000 KG. Sep demand (2000) - OK
01.10.08 Requisition: 3000 KG. Oct demand (3000). Doesnu2019t look at PO dated 01.10 at all. (I want this qty to be 2,250)

    OMDW
    rescheduling horizon days fixes this.

  • Error while closing the open purchase order for MRP run

    HI expets,
We are facing issue while closing the old purchase order(18.12.2007) for MRP run, if we are clicking delivery completed for the particular line item ,system is showing the error NET PRICE MUST BE GREATER THAN ZEROthough we have made GR and IR aganist the line item an value is also showing in the purchase order history tab, but in the condition tab there is no value showing for the particular line item .Kindly suggest the way forward.
    regards
    Karthick sundaram

one thing for sure, you cannot proceed without maintaining proper conditions in the PO.
Why they are not there or not anymore there is probably caused by customizing or vendor master data changes.

  • MRP and purchase order delivery date

    Hello
    Question about MRP
we would like that the MRP run takes into account purchase order with a delivery date in the future
Say the MRP run 10th of Oct we want that all purchase orders open with a delivery date in the future takes into account the quantity that needs to be ordered TODAY
    EXAMPLE
    Minimum stock 5
    Wse stock 0
Purchase order delivery date D+1 10
    Lead time is 5 days
So if you run MRP the systems proposes 5 to order today but they do not want  to order 5 because there is a coming purchase order D+1 of 10
Does anyone knows how the pruchase order of 10 is taken into account in the MRP run ?

Unfortunately, one of the weakness of SAP MRP is if a purchase order and/or production order is late, MRP will tell you to order it again instead of expediting.
We have overcome this and other issues with our own economical planning enhancements. If you are interested you can contact me with your contact information
