MS Office has stopped working on Satellite C660

Its the home premium version which was pre installed when bought last november.
All been fine until now.
I have not added any new software and have tried to reinstall factory settings but no luck. error message reads:
Cannot be opened. try again or repair in control panel.
Anyone got any ideas please?

Hi
Maybe the trial version of MS Office is not valid anymore.
As far as I know if Windows 7 is available for this model then MS Works and MS Office Trial or ready are preinstalled.
What version do you have? Trial version or full version?
I assume you dont have any MS Office disks. Right?
Well, in such case either you will try to set the OS to the early time point before the MS Office has worked or you will try to recover the notebook using HDD recovery or Recovery disk.

  • Publishing error "MS Office has stopped working"

I have an issue with Presenter 6.1:
When I'm trying to publish a presentation it sais "MS Office has stopped working". When I'm publishing the same presentation on my laptop everything is working fine (same MS Office, same Presenter). I had a similar issue with Dreamweaver, but I found that it was due to uncopatibility of Adobe products with Empowering Technology of ACER, but after installing a patch from Adobe this problem with DW was resolved.
Can you please help me ?

    Hi Xaxer, hi there,

The touch pad on my L300 has stopped working. (Vista 32 bit). Fn and F9 does not change anything.
USB-Mouse works fine. Downloaded new touch-pad driver.
Touch pad is not shown in the device manager.
    What should I do?
    Any idea?
How can I check whether the tp-driver is installed properly?
    Thanks in advance.

    > How can I check whether the tp-driver is installed properly?
Go to control panel -> mouse -> last tab (Advanced or Pointing device) -> Advanced button
There you should see all touchpad settings.

  • "Microsoft Office has stopped working"

I have Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 running on Windows 8.1.  Word crashes every time I attempt to create a document. Publisher and Power Point work just fine. What's the glitch?

    Hi,
Since when did you start experiencing this crash issue? Have you made any changes recently to your computer?
Please try to launch Word 2013 in safe mode and see if issue persists. If it works well in safe mode, then it is due to add-ins:
Press Win + R and type "winword /safe" in the blank box, then press
Enter. (Please note there is a space between ‘WinWord’ and /. )
Please also check for updates and install any required ones, then check result. It’s always a good idea to keep current with updates.
Hope it helps and please feel free to post back with any findings.

  • Microsoft Office 2013 has stopped working

Please can you help?  My PC is running Windows 8 Professional Plus 64 bit.  I downloaded and installed Microsoft Office 2013 32 bit and it worked perfectly until I changed my graphics card to an Asus Radeon HD6450 Silent.  Since then, all
the programmes, Outlook, Word, Excel etc. have stopped working.  I have Microsoft Office 2010 32 bit installed as well and that is still working fine.
I have tried removing COM Add-ins and have also repaired MS Office 2013 but neither have worked.  I have read the KB article but the driver dlumd32.dll does not appear to be installed on my machine.  All the applications will run in Safe Mode.
I have uninstalled Office 2013 and re-installed it but at the end of the installation I got the ‘Microsoft Office has stopped working’ message.

    Hi Lesley,
By checking the event log you provided, it seems this problem also occurs with Internet Explorer, isn't it?
And most of them are related to the atidxx32.dll file, I'd suggest we remove the graphics driver and see if this problem will still occur, if no, try to install any ohter version of graphics driver to see if this problem will still occur.

  • Microsoft Standard 2010 setup has stopped working

    Uninstalled Office Standard 2013.
I downloaded ISO Microsoft Office Standard 2010 from Volume license site, and burned to a dvd, launched the dvd and was able to get to the screen "click" to install office. I clicked the button and
The progress bar launched, but after a couple of minutes the application stopped closed, and the message "Microsoft Office has stopped working" was displayed.
I have run "Fix It" but still the same result.

Please Save the Fix it tool locally and then use it. Clicking "Run" directly won't work.
I would suggest you to follow the manual steps listed in follow article for uninstalling Office 2013, not only run Fix It tool:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501/en-us
Please restart your computer after you finish the manual steps, then retry the Office 2010 installation.

  • Satellite A60-652: ati2dvag driver has stopped working

    Hello,
Recently I have some problems with my graphics. My satellite freezes up, and goes to a low resolution with a few colours. A message says the ati2dvag driver has stopped working. After rebooting the satellite shows a blue screen and reboots...same thing happens. Only shutting down and retrying after a few minutes gets me back to normal Windows.
I tried to look for some new drivers, but I can't indicate my model (SA60-652)... is this model too old for updates???
    Toshiba SA60-652
    ATI MOBILITY RADION 7000 IGP
    ati2dvag driver (6.14.10.6430)
    Windows XP (SP2)
    AVG virus scan
    Hitman Pro anti-spyware
ATI hydravision installed but never used :-/
Notebook recently has been rising in temperature...I will deal with this after my final thesis (8 may)
    Please can you help me?
If you can, please be clear in instructions, 'caus I don't know a lot about computers... (PEBCAC)
    Thanks!

    Thank you for this answer,
I found the driver myself, uninstalled the old one and installed the new one (same driver, so actually just a reinstallation).
I use the programm Speedfan to monitor my cpu-temp, and I noticed a few months ago that temperature stayed between 60 and 70 degrees. Now my laptop is easily rising to temperatures of about 87 degrees. Think this is the answer... The notebook even completely stopped working suddenly a few weeks ago, due to high temp. I will look into it to clean the fans and stuff. Guess I'll find some more info on that on other forumthreads.
    Thank you for your help

  • Satellite 1130-Z24,system has stopped working altogether

    Hi
My system has stopped working altogether, since it was dropped, only from a small distance though. When connected to AC power, the light work, so I suspect power is getting to it, and I suspect I have damaged either the motherboard or power supply, but I am hoping something simple. Has anybody any manuals showing how to dismantle the satellite 1130, or any other suggestions.
    Kind Rgrds
    Chris

    Hello Chris
Unfortunately there is no official document how to disassemble/assemble your Satellite. In my opinion the best solution is to contact service partner in your country.
I am pretty sure that they can help you. Who knows which hardware part is damaged.
    Good luck!

  • Satellite U300-130 - TosBtMng has stopped working after Nokia PC Suite installation

I've got the same problem too... with Toshiba Satellite U300-130.
Bluetooth had worked pretty well before I installed Nokia PC Suite for my mobile on my PC (the newest version 7.1.26.0 from website).
To be correct, at first I even managed to maintain a Bluetooth connection between PC and Nokia and ran syncronisation of contacts. I made several attempts but each time syncronisation run ended with message "PC coudn't get answer from your Nokia".
After rebooting, my PC went crazy and started issuing message "TosBtMng has stopped working" and it restarted every time I ask it to close.
Installation of new version of BT Stack (6.40) didn't fix this error.
    Please help

    Hi there
I answered an existing thread with the same problem, but no-one can help apparently.
Anyway,,, I can at least help you with getting rid of the looping setup. You need to rename the directory with the Toshiba bluetooth stack.
I also have Nokia syncing and it worked fine until recently. - I have to say I think the problem relates to a Windows auto upgrade.
How to solve this is a different matter. At this moment I have given up. The Toshiba bluetooth stack disabled.

  • Satellite P300: Display Driver has stopped working using external monitor

I have a number of these Satellite P300 PSPCCA-OC201Y and recently bought external monitors for them.
Since then we seem to be getting "Display Driver has stopped working and has recovered" messages, then after about 5 of these, it crashes.
Starting with one machine, I have updated display drivers, bios was current, all to no avail.
I then did a complete system restore back to original. Has not solved the problem.
    Any ideas?

    hi Keven Dickenson,
as you said you restored the system and still there is no way to get things work it may be a hardware issue...
i my opinion you should consult a servicepartner to check this out...
is there any of the machines working with the external monitor at all?
if none of them is able to connect to ext. display maybe your installation has a problem or the monitor is faulty...
try it with another monitor and recover one system to factory installation....

    Hi
Did you try to reinstall the Toshiba BT stack?
Usually this should help to get rid of this error message.
Here you can download the newest BT stack:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/
Remove firstly the old BT software from the system and after new reboot install the BT downloaded from the Toshiba BT page.

  • Office 2013: Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working

    Hi,
I have problems with adding additional e-mail address to my Outlook. When I open the Mail Control Panel Item, go to my Exchange Profile and add a new e-mail address I get a popup indicating that the Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working.
The only way of adding extra e-mail addresses is to remove my entire Outlook Profile. In the initial wizard I can add all Exchange mailboxes that I need (I have 3). After I've configured my Outlook profile I always receive the Rundll32 error. When I try
to create a second Outlook profile I still get the same error.
    I've tried the following:
    - Repair OST file
    - Repair Office -> Control Panel and Online Repair
    - Reinstall Office
    - Reinstall my entire PC
It doesn't matter which e-mail address I add in the initial Outlook configuration wizard. I always receive the error when I try to add a new mailbox, even when I add a mailbox that does not exist (e.g. [email protected]).
Even after reinstalling my PC I still get the same error. I'm using Windows 8.1 (x64) and Office 2013 (32-bit) on a Lenovo W540. None of my colleagues have this issue. It's a domain joined PC and we are not using Roaming Profiles.
For troubleshooting I also created a local account on my laptop but I get the same issues with this account.

    Hi,
I'm also using Office 2013 32-bit and Windows 8.1 64-bit on my computer but doesn't get this issue. As you mentioned you reinstalled your PC, the first thing I suggest is to make sure your Windows and Office have been up to date.
The second thing is to make sure you are using the system with an administrator account, this ensures you the enough permission.
There is a possibility that some 3rd-party programs are interfering with "Mail", we can try to perform a clean boot to determine whether background programs are interfering with this:
1.Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. Or, if you are using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then click
    Search.
2.Type msconfig in the search box, and then tap or click
    msconfig.
3.On the Services tab of the System Configuration
dialog box, tap or click to select the Hide all Microsoft services
check box, and then tap or click Disable all.
4.On the Startup tab of the System Configuration
dialog box, tap or click Open Task Manager.
5.On the Startup tab in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then click
    Disable.
    6.Close Task Manager.
7.On the Startup tab of the System Configuration
dialog box, tap or click OK, and then restart the computer.
If in clean boot the issue doesn't exist, the issue was probably caused by the 3rd-party programs. For further information to troubleshoot, you can refer to this kb below:
