MS Word 2011 - Where to get a question answered?

Where can I go to get a question about MS Word for Mac 2011 question answered? Microsoft's website indicates a $99 charge. My question seems pretty simple (for a $99 answer...) When I reopen a previously edited document, the default the 'final showing markup' format. I don't want to see all my previous editing as the default opening format. I want to see only the 'final' version. How can I change this default to 'final'? I've looked everywhere in MS's 'help' options, and asked five friends. So far, zero. Hope you can help me. I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" > tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select "done", in the upper right corner
sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the security questions.
At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

How do I get a question answered if it isn't answered here?

I posted the question "Some flash videos don't show except as admin" well over a week ago and no replies. How else can I get this resolved? I'm not inclined to commit to $40 unless it's my fault. If I'm doing something stupid, fine, I'll take the hit. But I don't want to commit to $40 to go through some debugging that doesn't really reveal if it's my fault or an Adobe bug and I end up paying for their mistake. I can't believe no one else has ever run into this. I just want to know what the fix is.

You must be searching different (better) than I am because I searched for the same question from others before posting and found some variations (works for one user fine but not at all for another, or some videos start to load but get stuck there, etc) but none that were this same problem.
It is discouraging that Adobe doesn't monitor these forums (or are you with adobe?) for problems that aren't answered, problems they are working on, etc., if only to say that's one we don't know the answer to yet but we're working on it. I know it's a free program but when you position yourself to dominate a specific function in the market and get all the benefits (name cred, sales of flash development software) then support should go with the deal.
How and why did you manage to get your name to display upsidedown/backwards, not only here but on the email notice I got?

I'm not complaining, I have a legitimate question that hasn't been answered. If you'd like to be a little snot, please do it elsewhere, I'd like to get my issue resolved, thank you. I live in Montana, there are no apple stores.

Giving your posting a clear layout is helpful to the other participants in this forum, because it makes your contribution easier to read. Here are some tips for increasing the clarity of your question or reply.

Mixed case (at least in English) has the greatest variety of letter shapes and therefore conveys the most information to a reader's eyes. Also, netiquette considers all capitals to be the equivalent of SHOUTING and is thus rude.

Can I get two questions answered? Seems like Veriozon answers question number 1 but evades answering question number 2.

1. Can I buy a new 2014 Moto X at full price?
2. Can I retain my unlimited data plan?
This is all I want to do. Why do they make it so difficult.

I am going to guess here that Best Buy can do it because they are Verizon Wireless premium partner.
However I have read here and online that when Best Buy places a click in the "Retain unlimited data" radio button that sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.
But even corporate stores are removing it from what I have read. They claim the code to retain unlimited is no longer available due to the unlimited plan no longer being offered.
However 8 months ago when I bought my second iPhone it was able to retain it.
Just a guess on my part.

Word 2011 for mac wont open on pc

I have tried to open files on my PC at work that I have created or edited on my Mac Pro - Office 2011. However, when I do I get an error code saying
Word cannot start the converter mswrd632.wpc. I have been able to solve this problem on other computers I have at home as I can download the file format convertors from windows that corrects this problem, however I do a lot of work both at home and work and cannot download above file as I do have the administrator rights.Any one got any ideas . They will open on PC at work if I save file as rich text format and tried saving as a word 97-2004 file but this will not work either. love my macbook but this is driving me insane.

I'm a bit late but I'm faced the same problem too :
- when you try to open a Word Document (.doc) saved with Word 2011 Mac, you get the mswrd632 error with Word 2002 (or later)
- even with the Microsoft Fix it does not work.
Solution :
-On your Mac, when you "save as ..", click the compatibility report. it will say that you have the Word 6.0/95 compatibility mode, you have to change it in compatibility preference dialog box.

Change the combo "recommanded options For" to Microsoft Word X 2000/2004
- Go To Save As again, save the document under a new one. Do not just do the save command, it won't work.

MS Word 2011 for Mac toolbar missing and cannot get back. tried disabling toolbars, deleting Normal.dotx to no avail. Sometimes just pops up for no reason. Also reinstalled Office. Any ideas please? Driving me nuts as cannot use shortcut icons

I have MS Word 2011 installed on my iMac running Lion. Have overcome the problem of the hidden Library but still unable to see toolbar with the shortcut icons such as Format paster. Have researched and tried deleting normal template. no joy. reinstalled Office. no joy. unchecked standard and formatting toolbars and rechecked and a blank line appears where toolbar icons should be. Sometimes they magically appear after a few minutes! Often not.
this is driving me nuts so please any ideas

I've had this problem since upgrading to the latest release of word 2011. Thre used to b a losenge in the top right corner, when this dissappeared it lost the toolbar strip. Really frikkin' annoying it was. Thanks for the tip!
So can someone tell Microsoft about this problem? their forums are as useless as their desktop help files.

Word 2011 for Mac: Advanced question regarding the navigation pane--aka sidebar

Hi everyone--
I'm a new Mac owner, with a Macbook Pro 13" 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, with 8GB RAM, 256GB storage. I'm operating on the latest OS (Maverick), freshly purchased from the Apple store today (July 5, 2014).
Can you help me figure out if there is some way, in Word 2011 for Mac, to use the navigation pane (aka Sidebar) to click and drag entire sections of the document to a new location? This was basic (advanced, but fundamental) functionality in every version of Word I've used in recent years on Windows machines, and it is the critical reason I purchased Word instead of using one of a dozen free options. My job involves managing and editing large documents--from 2500 to 90,000 words--and the navigation pane/sidebar is crucial to my sanity.
Previously, I would open the navigation pane and it would show me the structure of my document based on the Heading types. I could click on a heading (say, a chapter title), inside the navigation pane, and drag it to a new location elsewhere in the document. So simple to rearrange the structure of large documents this way. Now, in the Word 2011 for Mac, I can call up the navigation pane (now called the "sidebar") and view the structure of the doc, but I can't actually click and drag anything in the navigation pane.
Other than this, so far my switch to Mac has gone swimmingly. I love the machine, and am amazed at how much cleaner and easier it is to set up than Windows machines. I'm so frustrated that I even have to interface with Microsoft any more, but this one piece of functionality is critical to me.

I don't know the specific answer to your question.
But as a new Mac owner, you should make sure that you are using the very latest version of Word 2011 for Mac.
My recommendation, if you haven't already done this, is to open Word and do Help > Check for Updates from Word's menu, and install any updates Microsoft has released.
They typically issue updates once or twice a month.

The current Apple thinking is that the entire world has access to fast broadband and wants to distribute home movies to friends and relatives via download (iCloud) rather than mailing them a DVD. The fact that nothing could be further from the truth has so far had no effect on this policy. If you scream and shout loudly enough down the phone Apple may send you a free copy of iDVD. That worked for some, but is now said to have been withdrawn by Apple. Also, you can complain bitterly here, perhaps suggesting that Apple could have provided a choice between using iCloud and burning DVDs:

Whilst Macs with a Superdrive continue to be able to burn video DVDs, the software for so doing, iDVD, is no longer included in the iLife bundle that comes with OS 10.7 Lion (which also omitted iWeb) or will come with OS 10.8 Mountain Lion. And it is no longer included in the iLife 11 from the online Apple Store: http://www.apple.com/ilife/. Your only solution is to look on Amazon or eBay and try to get an older version that includes iDVD.
However, the vastly more expensive FCPX can burn a DVD without iDVD or DVD Studio Pro involvement, but lack the themes etc of iDVD.
