how can i identify the card is something wrong or not ?? help plseeee

okay, first off, for that VGA setting, you do not want to use any system memory for textures.  especially being that it is PCI textures.  you have an AGP card, PCI does not even apply for you.  even if your video card was 64mb or 128mb, you would not want to use any system memory.  let the card handle what its supposed to handle.  if you are primarily playing games and you're not editing intensive media, the card can hold its own just fine without using your precious system memory.  and trust me, your system memory, when doing ANYTHING at all, is precious.  the more system memory you can have dedicated to a certain thing at one time, the better that certain thing will run.  turn that setting all the way down to 0.  i have found that sometimes it will not accept a value of 0, so i just place it at 1.  keep it as low as possible, that system memory is important.
the BIOS aperture size should also be turned off.  i believe (don't quote me on this) that the aperture is referring to a PCI card.  which, as stated before, you do not have, you have an AGP card.  so turn this off, the system will recognize the card and all its available memory from the bios directly.  having an aperture is using that precious system memory i was talking about.
one benefit of AGP versus PCI cards is that an AGP is much more capable of using its own memory instead of having to steal memory from your system's ram.  of course, there are many more noteworthy benefits of AGP vs PCI, but for this question, the applicable answer is, turn that stuff off and down.
++++++++++++++++++
VGA SETTING : PCI Texture Memory Size ,Use up to 31 MB of
system memory for textures in PCI MODE
what is that can i change to a bigger size
BIOS :APERTURE SIZE : = ? MB
how to set so that i can get the best performance ?

  • FX5600 VTDR-128 performence

Hey guys, i jsut got HALO for pc and tried it out on my FX5600 VTDR128
it runs VERY slow, so i had to turn the graphics all the way down and need to run it at 800x600. is this just the video cards slowness? or could it be somethnig else with my system?
    I have a :
    amd athlon xp 2500+ barton
    asus a7n8x deluxe
    1gb ddr400 ram
    80gb WD hardrive
msi geforce fx5600 vtdr-128 video card
benq fp767 17" lcd monitor (16ms response time)
Im jsut wondering, is this the performence i should be having? or is it a little slow?

    yup
what are your system specs?  what kind of processor how much ram?
i have not personally bought the game yet, but i have read two reviews that stated unless you have a bawlin system running top speed, your framerates are gonna be very unsatisfying.  its not a problem with your card or even the drivers, the game was written poorly with mid-range systems in mind.  the fact that this is a 2 year old game, makes this situation EXTREMELY disappointing.  yes, the developers had to port it over to the PC platform, but if you wanna look at it like that, the XBOX is the closest console there is to a PC.  they had 2 years to tweak this game, even with a FEW improved graphical effects, it is STILL running on technology that is 2 years old.  GeForce 3 graphics + some more current pixel and vertex shaders, and the game CHOPS like a cooking show on the food channel.  very disappointing.  maybe there will be patches to the game in the future to deal with this situation.  for now, you're stuck like the rest of us unless you upgrade to some serious firepower.  sorry, it sucks.

  • Temp tab in 52.16 forceware driver for MSI FX5600 VTDR

    Hi all,
I've installed new forceware (52.16) driver from Nvidia, and I cannot find the "Temperature" tab in the driver's control panel. (MSI FX5600 VTDR on K7N2 Delta-L).
This temp. feature is enabled on fx5600 gpu?!?
Also I noticed that the menus are not very clear with this driver.
    Any hints?!?
    Many thanks:)

  • MSI GeForce FX5600-TD 256Mb Tv-Out, DVI

    Hallo!
    I have a AND XP 2000+, 512 DDR 266,  MSI KT3-Ultra, MSI GeForce FX5600-TD 256Mb Tv-Out, DVI
and a 450W psu. Win XP Professional sp1
I have a problem with games and when i tested in 3dMark.
    It's score bad.
    3dMark2003: 2312
All drivers are up to date and i have tried to reinstall all components
Can Somebody help me Please? ;(

sorry but the only way you will improve your score is to lose the MSI FX6500. This is a renault 5 in ferrari clothing. It simply does not have the necessary fill rate to compete with even a Ti4200, trust me I spent 2 weeks trying to get it running to spec.
Basically only an Ultra or FX5900 will improve it.
Nvidia boobed on the design of the Graphics processor, the card can throw out frames well beyong a ti4200 capability but because it cant fill them quick enough it cant maintain the framerate.....still dont believe me ? Try thi, run 3d MARK, any version, in 640X480, youll notice that the score doesnt improve dramtically. 640X480 should mean more FPS but still no fill rate so it cant process any quicker.
I am well pi**ed of with my FX5600.

  • MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card, Pinnacle 8.8.17 SE REBOOTS Windows XP when it renders.

The Problem is that once video is captured by the MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card,  Pinnacle 8.8.17 SE crashes Windows XP when it renders.
I am using the latest MSI 44.03 drivers and the WDM drivers as shown in Windows XP system properties, hardware, are 2.0.3.0 09/04/2003.
The VGA card is set to CLONE mode and OVERLAY controls to FULL SCREEN DEVICE = SECONDARY DISPLAY, to get video output using thesupplied 9-SSCCR adaptor and
S-VHS cable to an analog VCR.
IF I DISABLE THE OVERLAY CONTROLS, RENDERING COMPLETES, XP DOES NOT REBOOT, BUT I CAN NO LONGER EXPORT TO THE VCR!!!!
I would appreciate any assistance or explanation.

Another issue I have relates to video captured by the MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card showing distortion or tearing in the bottom lines.
I am trying to capture, using an MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card, I am using the latest MSI 44.03 drivers and the WDM drivers as shown in Windows XP system properties, hardware, are 2.0.3.0 09/04/2003.
The capture system is PAL, I have selected PAL-I, my video sources are either an analogue VCR or an analog Camcorder. I use the analog VIDEO IN or the S-VHS IN of the supplied 9-SSCCR adaptor.
The software packages I have used are Pinnacle 8.8.17 SE, Intervideo WinProducer 2.0 or MSI Media Centre II deluxe (including patch).
    Thanks for your support.

What is under the switches tab?
Oh -- By the way, that picture is over the size limit defined in the forum rules in tems of pixels, but the file size is okay.  I'll let it slide.  Watch the bumping as well.
If you want to post the switches tab, upload it to someplace like http://img3.imageshack.us/, copy the thumbnail (which has the link to the original)  back here, and you are golden.
I had a bear of a time getting the microphone working on my HP DV4, but it does work.  I'll look at the set up when I get home tonight [USA-PDT].
Sorry for the picture and the "bumping"... I have asked in irc in arch and alsa channels and no luck yet... one guy from alsa said I had to wait for the alsa-driver-1.0.24 package (currently I have alsa-driver-1.0.23) but it is weird because the microphone worked some months ago...
So here is what it is under the switches tab

  • Msi Fx 5600 Vtdr 256mb

    anyone know the max mhz for 2d / 3d / memory for msi fx5600 256mb ??
    and also the default ?

Well, I personally do not have any FX5600... so I'm not sure of the core clock speed for the 2d/3d/mem, but if you a good o/c info of the max range of the clocks, you can go and register to Futuremark or AquaMark3 and look under their comparison charts and see how muh any experts can o/c'ed...
For my system... I'm listed 2nd in my specs range in AquaMark3.
All the best in your o/c'ing times...

Just some info for owners of the Gigabyte GA7-VAX-A M/B: When using an MSI FX5600 gfx card, you should d/l the latest M/B BIOS (version F3). This should fix the garbled 3D output.

  • FX5600 VTDR Remote control

Does anybody know if the remote control that comes with the VTDR MSI video cards, can be used for something else than the Media Center ?
    Thank You.

A Plugin for Girder would be absolutely great!
Unfortunately mail to your hushmail-account returns.
Do you have anything online or could you send it
    to me?

In some other thread, ou wrote about four DLLs that handle
IR-IO and some documentation on it. Could you point me to them, too?
I'd really mutch appreciate that and thank you
    very much in advance.

  • My fx5600 vtdr does not exists!

ok, I have installed the Media Center, and it does not work (script error, see my first post on this forum), I have installed wdm drivers 2.03 to enable video in, and my sb live! 5.1 can't play any dvd in othr way that stereo (see my second post on this forum)...
now, anyone can tell me why latest version (2.14) of 3D! Turbo Experience does not recognize my fx card, and live update 2 (latest version, 3.39) does not recognize its bios version (nvidia detonator 44.67 say 4.31.20.40)?
    my configuration is:
    amd athlon 1800+, 320mb
    abit k7a (via kt133a, agp4x)
    win2k, sp4, ie6, via hyperion 4.48, dx9.0b

most likely for the same reason that my Ti4200 8x -vtp (MS-8889) is not recognized by that sw, but it seems that ony god knows what that reason is..... I have posted about my problem but only got slagged off by the person replying for not reading bulletins etc... if he would have read my post he would have realized that I had read the bulletin, but hey....
I also emailed the support and the suggestion they gave me was to uninstall the WDM drivers but that didnt help in my case, you might have better luck tho if you want to have a go at that... I replied to the support that I tried uninstalling the WDM driver but still had a problem and havent heard anything back, thats a few weeks now.....
I have basically given up on MSI....
The support suggestion indicates to me that my card should support hardware monitoring but it doesnt seem like anyone in MSI knows exactly what cards do or dont support this function, the fact that they suggest removing the WDM driver to get the HW monitoring to work is not actually an option for me either as I need both functions, I'm currently looking for a new card from another manufacturer....
good luck in getting your card to work....

    Hi all,
same problem here, not with Linux, but with VESA3 modes under DOS!
Setting refresh rates with UniRefresh does not work, I always get 60Hz.
UniRefresh says that the video card (MSI GeForce 5900 Ultra VTD 256) HAS a VESA 3 BIOS, but you can't make any changes to the display settings. (This worked well with my former video card, a GeForce 3 TI500)
Is there any official statement that GeForce FX cards DO support VESA3? I am beginning to doubt this...
Shouldn't it be possible to edit the card's BIOS to set the refresh rates for VESA modes (640x480x8, etc.) to a higher value? Anybody know how this could be accomplished?
    Thanks for your help

  • FX5600 VTDR 128mb - AGP Sideband ??

    Hi,
     i´m new here....
When i open the 3D turbo experience, at the right botton side, there apears the status and information of my VGA card, but there is something about: AGP SideBand What is that ??
At my sideband status it is shown: AGP SideBand  Disable
    Please....give some help about that,
Rmk: Sorry about my english, i´m from Brazil
    Thanks!!!

    NovJoe,
Not everyone can enable the feature as I said, I downloaded and installed MSI's 52.14 driver that I have to mention is NOT WHQL'd, your signature says you have a 5216 WHQL'd driver. What's up with that?
I cannot enable the feature due to the fact that MSI disables the feature in the BIOS as outlined by nVidia spec. That's one of many reasons I avoind manufacturers drivers, not to mention the mess it just made of my system
That is why you see so many problems on this forum, I think the forum Tinkerer is also part of the MSI driver team.
I had the new nVidia drivers 53.03 installed previously, used driver cleaner to remove the remaning files and ended up not being able to install the drivers because of the problem that users were reporting after using the Driver Cleaner Utility about the section missing in the Inf file. Additionally, I had MSI's drivers installe to test yet another problem prior to nVidia's 53.03. Another reason I do not like MSI's drivers. They are mixing and matching files from older versions, hence the INF problem.
    Heres proof:

  • Gosh darn msi! need help urgently!

ok, I posted this in another forum, and I am not getting a quick enough reply, I basically need a reply asap.
Here is the story so far...
I am building a pc for someone with the following specs...
80 gig Maxtor SATA hard drive
    athlon 2500xp
    MSI K7N2 Delta motherboard
    512 megs of crucial ram
    DVD drive
    DVD writer
    Radeon 9600
    and so forth...
I have xp installed so i know its accessing the drives ok. I have the dvd drive on primary master, and the writer on secondary master. And obviously the hard drive is on the sata 1. The problem is that when I plugged in the IDE LED to the motherboard all it does is pulse constantly. It doesn't changed if I leave it idle or access the hard drive.
This is really annoying not only cause the person has paid good money for the system and I don't want to give him something that doesn't function properly, but the hard drive is well quiet and you need the light to know what its doing. If the board can't even offer me a simple led to work properly then it says a lot for the quality of an MSI board.
I have checked the manuals and they offer no help to the problem (unless I missed that section)
Can anyone offer any ideas as to solve this problem??
    Cheers
    Smiley Smile

    Hi,
You could use the old "SATA is so far ahead of it's time - they haven't figured out a way to make the HD LED work in concert yet" explanation - it's BS but it might work!
Seriously though, problems similar to this have been reported on other motherboards (not MSI) although they have the problem that the LED stays on constantly (some of these problems can be fixed by BIOS upgrades - dunno about MSI though - there may be wisdom in contacting MSI themselves on this LED issue).
I think SATA may have been rushed onto the latest generation of motherboards, meaning of course (as with most new technologies) that they haven't "Ironed out" all the problems yet. For my part, I try not to buy hardware with the latest specs -  I prefer to watch (forums are a good place to start) and wait before I buy.
As you say it's not unreasonable to assume your hardware should work as advertised - however, this has never been the case either with computer hardware or software (Patches, BIOS flashing, PCB revisions, Bugs etc. etc.) I agree though, that something as simple as the HD LED shouldn't be a problem.
Anyway Good Luck in future endeavours and let us know if you have any further problems.
BTW, none of this forum's members actually work for MSI!
