MSSQL Polling Issue with SAO 10.1.3.5
Hi All,
We have an BPEL Process which is polling MSSQL table and it was working fine and suddenly it stopped working and when we saw the domain logs we got error as
ORABPEL-11624
DBActivationSpec Polling Exception.
Query name: [GetEmailData], Descriptor name: [GetEmailData.XfrSetEmployeeEmailAddress]. Polling the database for events failed on this iteration.
If the cause is something like a database being down successful polling will resume once conditions change. Caused by ORABPEL-00000
JTS transaction was marked rollback only.
and after inserting the mcf properties we got the below error
<AdapterFramework::Inbound> Delivery Thread 'JCA-work-instance:Database Adapter-14 performing unsynchronized post() to localhost
Can anyone please help me out in this.
Thanks,
Nagaraju D
Im having the same problem. There is any solution or patch?? Please help!

Issue with MSSQL server connectivity from ODI 10.1.3
Hi,
In one of the interface we are populating data to target table in MSSQL server version 2005.
The physical topology connection results successful.
Since so long there is no problem and it is running successful. But suddenly I'm facing issues with this.
I cannot see teh datastores under the model created for this table. When expanding the model, when trying to reverse the model or when I am trying to save any changes in the package I am getting the below error.

I have verified below:
The SQL server version is: MSSQL server 2005
the "sqljdbc.jar" file is there in place "<ORACLE_HOME>/oracledi/drivers"
Java version: jdk1.5.0
There is no change in source or target db. Please help me to fix this issueHi,
Thanks for the reply. The link is helpful and its the same what is there in the environment.
"The JDK version is 1.5 and JRE version is 1.4.2."
But, this was working fine till last week. I am worried, if the issue is due to version compatability why we were not facing this issue before. There is no changes in the environment since go live of this interface.
Thanks, -
Hi all,
I am trying a Polling service with Logical Delete as polling option. Unfortunately, service is not polling the database. We have only insert and update rights on the database is that the problem.
Do I need admin rights on the database for the polling. ?? I am really help less and not able to find the issue.
I have created the datasource as XA and with all default settings.. added the outbound connection pool and updated the DBAdapter project, restarted the servers and then created the datapolling..
I have created a data polling in another database and it is working fine, but I am not sure why exactly the polling is not working in the database which I need.. :'( please help me and lemme know
if you need any other info for finding out the issue? If you mean Sys/SYSDBA rights then no, you do not need that to be able to poll. What you need is Select/Update/Insert rights on the particular table. If the table is created in the tablespace of the DB schema which you have configured in the datasource, then there should not be any issues and you should not need any grants done in DB.
If table is created in tablespace of a different DB schema(user) and you are polling using a different schema user (which is configured in the datasource on weblogic) then make sure that the DB schema you are putting in the datasource has select/update/insert rights on the table you are trying to poll from. -
Apple has Major Issue with Podcast Updating
I have been getting reports from a large number of the folks we represent at RawVoice indicating they are having the same issue with the podcast listings updating in iTunes.
We are going to poll our 6000 podcasters and have them start watching this more closely. Everything has been working perfectly for such a long time most of us never check iTunes anymore.
It could be some update that iTunes is doing but it is negatively effecting many podcasters because the listeners do not know enough to hit Refresh on the subscription listing.
I know my download numbers are way down over the past week because it looks like I have not updated my show. Please check your podcast listings. If you see that they are not updating within a couple of hours of posting start submitting trouble tickets.
Something is broke and I don't think Apple is aware of it. I am getting standard boiler plate responses back from tech support. But if they have enough submissions then they will know something is jacked up.
Here is the info to submit a ticket, you will have to be persistent or you will not get a response.
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'.try taking down the power to the ATV since the last update. Then power back on.

CR2008 connectivity issue with BOE Universes(sap and non sap universes)
Hi Experts !!
Recently we tried to build/connect to a Universe in Crystal Reports2008 via 'Make a new connection tab'.
The universes are of SAP BW or non SAP Lying in BOE Servers and we are trying to build reports on them by conncting/utilizing the universes as a database for Crystal Reporting.
Our issue is most of the time we are not able to connect to the Universes and the connectivity blows out by some 'communication Error' thing initially.
While at some other points in time, the connectivity takes us to the Universe and we are able to select few characteristics and key figures from the Universe but the moment we go futher and try to run by pressing 'OK' button it blows out and say' LOGON FAILED'.
Apparantly, it is an connectivity issue with BOE server and from the different blogs it looks like it is a known issue for long.
The proposed issue resolution were like either CR2008 should be SP2 with BOE SP3 or there should be some additional .dll files defined in the paths in case of MSSQL database. None of this applies to us as we are on CR2008 with SP3 and going back to SP2 is probably not a viable option for us, and we are using Oracle as underlying database in this specific case.( i would like to tell you here that we are able to connect to Oracle Database directly though).
We have raised a message with SAP and was just wondering if we do have some solution/workaround already available to this known issue in place please?
Thanks&Regards.

Moved to Universe Forum.
If you have a case logged then no point posting here also, this is a public site and not a case management tool.
Once you do get the solution from your case please post it here also to help others if they have the same problem.
Thank you

Hello,
I m facing issues using the FTP adapter. I am using 10.1.3.1 standalone installed in my desktop.
1) The FTP adapter doesnt poll continuously for the files. It dies off as soon the folder is empty. If there are incoming files after sometime, the BPEL process fails to pick them. I created an empty BPEL process that has a recieve activity from an FTP adapter as partner link
2) The files are fetched and deleted but are never archived, despite setting the archive files. Can we not archive those files in another folder of same FTP server ?
3) Sometimes, the files are deleted, but there is no activity or process shown in the BPEL console.
Can you please help me with these issues
Thanks
Harinath GandhiAre you able to upgrade to 10.1.3.3. A lot of issues with adapters are solved in this release.

ODI 11.1.1.5 Issue with In-Memory Engine!
Hi All,
I was in the process of testing an Interface (Flat File->Planning) using Memory Engine as the Optimization Engine; and was getting the following error;
ODIPlanningException: The source result set contains column [C1_CHILD] which has no corresponding column on the planning side.
After some reach, I found on John's blog
http://john-goodwin.blogspot.com/2011/09/odi-series-issues-with-11115-and.html
that this is a known issue in V11.1.1.5 and changing the Memory Engine to say MSSQL (or as John suggested to Oracle) had my Interface run successfully. However, I do have a few questions on this;
1. The first step of Drop Work Table failed after changing the Optimization Engine with the error: Cannot drop the table "abc" because it does not exist or you do not have permission.
I dont understand this messege completely. Does it mean say its not able to drop because the Table becauase it doesnt exist? Well I ran the same interface a second time (so the Table exists from previous run) and I still got the same messege.
Any comments?
2. What is the impact of changing the Optimization Engine from Memory to MSSQL (essentially my staging area)? Is there anything else I need to be aware of by doing so?
3. Finally, is there a patch for this now so In-Memory Engine could be used?
Appreciate your comments.
ThanksIt is fixed in 11.1.1.6 or for 11.1.1.5 then have a look at patch 12905298
Cheers

XI adapter polling issue & JDBC / DB2 driver connection timeout properties
Hello Group,
We have a long running issue with our XI 7.0 system running on iseries. (V5R3) The issue occuring is that our XI adapters stop polling and the only resolution is to restart the J2EE engine or to resart the adapter framework services.
We have had several OSS messages open on this subject for over a year and are going round in circles with the a number of different SAP consultants.
The one topic that we keep coming back to is that we are being asked to set DB2 driver connection timeout properties. We are using the toolbox driver and have upated to the latest JTopen driver, but have not managed to find any inofrmation on how to set the timeout parameter. Does anyone know where the timeout parameter set?
Has anyone experienced polling issue like this before and how did you resolve?
SAP referred to the SAP note 1078420 - XI/PI JDBC Adapter: Setting JDBC driver properties for DB which is for Oracle, but this will give an idea of what timeout parameters SAP are asking about.
Extract of the note is below:-
Symptom
This note gives an option to set JDBC driver properties while acquiring a DB connection. When connecting to DB using JDBC adapter there are instances
where DB connection take a long time to establish connection. Some times call made to Driver will hang permanently. Setting driver properties would resolve this problem.
More Terms
Connection timeout, time out, query timeout
Cause and Prerequisites
Solution
In the advanced mode table section of sender channel and receiver channel configurations, we can set driver properties for each DB connection. Any
such property would have to contain prefix 'driver:'(with out quotes) For example, for Oracle Database JDBC thin driver 10.2.0.3 version, the
property oracle.jdbc.ReadTimeout helps to set read timeout while reading from the socket. Also for setting login time out in Oracle, we use
oracle.net.CONNECT_TIMEOUT. To set these two properties use as follows:
driver:oracle.jdbc.ReadTimeout 1000
driver:oracle.net.CONNECT_TIMEOUT 1000
(The TimeOut Driver properties like ReadTimeout and CONNECT_TIMEOUT are in milliseconds)
Refer to your DB documentation/ JDBC driver documentation on this. Please note that properties can vary from each driver version. For instance, some
of properties of Oracle JDBC thin Driver 10.2.0.3 properties may not be present in older version drivers. Please contact DB vendor for the complete
list of driver properties. In addition to above, we also provide another parameter for query time out.
sqlquerytimeout (prefix 'driver:' is not required) is the parameter that is to be used for SQL query time out. This is case-sensitive and should be
configured as positive integer value in seconds(greater than 0).
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
With regards,
StevenHello,
I am not talking about the XI timeouts. But the timeouts which can be used to get the connection timeouts for DB2/AS400 databases.
So please provide that information.
THanks,
soorya -
Business Connector 4.7 connection issue with GB HMRC
Inland Revenue have changed their URL's and SAP issued a new note 1614588 for this change. As instructed in the note I installed the new package and now when we try to poll with Inland revenue we get a connection refused.
I am not too familiar with the Business connector. I have looked in the log but cannot find what URL it is trying to access. I also noticed the package in the note is exactly the same size as the old one and the files included in the package are all modified in 2006. This implies to me that nothing was changed between the old package we had and the new one. I have raised this issue with SAP but have got no response yet.
Any suggestions on how to investigate this connection refused issue?
Thanks in advance
ShamshudinI never found and anwser to this problem, I was forced to create an webclient and exchange an XML file. Which also only worked correctly if the content-type was equal to:
ContentType = "application/x-sap.rfc; charset=UTF-8";
Hope this helps someone.

So I appear to have some sort of pciehp module. -
AAA issues with VPN and IPCP?
Hi,
I have been struggling to find a solution as to why my L2TP tunnel comes up, but, no ip through IPCP is working. I have a few third party VPN providers that I can connect to with no problem. My config is solid as far as the Virtual-PPP interface is concerned. So, as far as the AAA is concerned, here are a few commands that I have used:
aaa new-model
aaa authentication login local_auth local
aaa authentication ppp default none
So, here is the revelant debugs:

I don't have this issue with other providers. I don't have the whole radius / tacacs things setup as it's not necessary for our needs.
Ideas?
Thanks for the help.

Issue with JMS inbound Adapter and Asynchronous BPEL
Hi Gurus,
I am facing the below issue with JMS inbound Adapter and Asynchronous BPEL .
I have 2 JMS Queues one inbound and one outbound . The Composite has multiple BPEL Components around 4 on an average and i have 4 composites similar to that .
Totally 4 Composites * 4 BPEL Components = 16 Services
Propoesd Solution :
I have used MessageSelector in the JMS Adapter for selecting the incoming message. The BPEL gets invoked if the message selector is true and proceses the Message and writes the response to the other Queue.
Initially i had no problems but intermittantly the BPEL processes are getting invoked but they are not processing the data ( Bpel process is supposed to invoke an external service and get the response in a sync call) and each BPEL processe instance is in running state for ever . This remains even if i restart the servers .
The message gets read by the JMS Adapter , BPEL instace gets created but it wont proceed futher and remains in the runnign state for ever.
If i redeploy the Composite then messages get processed but the issue creeps up again ( i tried to checl the logs but ino cluea about the issue .
Getting frustrated day by day tried the bpel.config.transaction, increased the JMS Adapter threads , inreased the worker threads but all in vein..
please let me know if any one has faced similar issue .
Anticipating a quick response from the gurus.
Lakshmi. We are also facing this issue in 11.1.1.5.
Breifly the issue is : The BPEL process which polls an inbound JMSAdater ( consume_message) either stays in running state forever ( whatever we do) or go to the recovery queue. It doesnt recover even if i try to recover it. This happens intermittently. Redeploying the application / restarting servers sometime solve the issue but as know we cant do that on prod systems .
Can some one look into this on priority and help us giving a solution/workaround. -
Adobe Connect audio and polls issues
Hello Everyone,
When I'm using Adobe Connect I have these problems (always).
* Sound cuts in and out.
* (Not Responding) comes up for polls (or any time I'm interacting with the Group or Host).
I have a Compaq Laptop with Window 7/ Windows Explorer 9 / Adobe Flash Player 11.3
Please help this is urgent!
Thank you.It sounds like a network issue. You say you have connected in different locations, did you connect in a location where others were not having the issue? Could your IT staff work with you to identify why you may be having connectivity issues?
If everyone was experiencing the problem, then I'd be inclined to say it was an issue with your Connect account, but being isolated to you, it seems like the problem may be local. Sometimes wireless routers get overwhelmed in busy environments, and may cause some individuals to see temporarily lost connectivity. Other times it may just be a wireless router going bad. If you are hard wired, then it may be router that is beginning to fail. Be sure that when you test other locations, you are connecting to different hardware.
Since you are running the add-in, I don't believe the browser should make any difference. -
DPS 6.3.1 issue with startTLS
I have DPS 6.3.1 with LDAPv2 enabled and SSLv2 and SSLv3 enabled with all the ciphers. I am getting an error from older ldap authn modules.
[14/Sep/2009:16:24:20 -0700] - CONNECT - INFO - conn=1368 client=101.101.101.101:60944 server=server.hr.com:636 protocol=LDAPS

[14/Sep/2009:16:24:20 -0700] - DISCONNECT - INFO - conn=1368 reason="other" msg="Exception caught while polling client connection LDAPS.101.101.101.101.60944 -- javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Inbound closed before receiving peer's close_notify: possible truncation attack?"
Anyone else seen this truncation error. Is it merely a timeout issue? Does Maximum Read Wait Time default setting of 2 seconds have anything to do with it?
In other connections like the one above it is using EXTENDED oid="1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.20037" startTLS, but doesnt switch to SSLv3 but to SSLv2 for the bind. From what I can tell the DPS is having an issue with SSLv2, and maybe LDAPv2.
Web server: Apache/2.2.8
ldap client: OpenLDAP 2.2.13-12.el4_8.2
PHP Pam Auth: pam_auth-0.4-4.3LDAPv2 does not support extended operations (See [RFC1777|http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1777.txt] ), so your recent apps seem to use LDAPv3 + startTLS extended operations on the LDAP (clear text) port.
Older apps using LDAPv2 should contact the LDAPS port.
In the latter case, SSL channels are established before the first LDAP request (containing the protocol version) is sent, so the problem is not related to the LDAP protocol version. The error shown in the logs may corresponds to the case where a client app contacts the proxy on the LDAPS secure port w/o using SSL. -
Issue with db connection to prod
HI Experts,
I’m facing issues with the DB connection from MSSQL in windows to Oracle (PROD). I get the error code – TNS 12203
I’m able to do a successful tnsping to PROD from the windows machine.
Moreover, the DB connection to DEV works perfectly fine.
Thanks in Advance12203, 00000, "TNS:unable to connect to destination"
