Multi-Mappings in BPM (XI 3.0)

Hello,
I´am trying to create a multi-mapping to merge a list of messages into one single message.
Does anyone know if there is a multi-mapping testing environment ?
If I test the multi-mapping in the normal message mapping test environment every things is fine - nevertheless I get a mapping error during workflow runtime.

Hi Karl,
It tries to create an IDOC element in the second PROACT element and fails, because the source structure contains exactly one IDOC element, while the result document must have as many IDOC elements as there are PROACT elements. In 99% of the cases when a target node has minOccurs=maxOccurs=1, the best thing you can do about it is to leave mapping blanck, i.e. map nothing to it, then you won't get such problems in runtime. If you really want to map something to it you should map a node, which occurs in source document exactly the number of times, that the target node must occur in result document. In your case it would be E1EDP31 but you should not map it directly to IDoc, but through a SplitByValue function.

Hi ALL,
Im working on a scenario in which multiple purchase orders are selected from a database and i want to post an idoc for each purchase order.
Im using JDBC and IDOC adapters respectively.
I tried to split the source message using Multi-mapping (Enhanced Interface Determination), but according to SAP Documentation, you cannot use IDOC adapter in case of multi-mappings.
Is there a way to do this?

Multi mapping before BPM and then message routing to different IDocs

I am working on PI 7.0.
I have a scenario where a message from a third party needs to be split and then mapped to multiple IDocs in the target. This decision happens based on an RFC call to SAP ECC. Before the message passes to BPM, I have done a multi mapping to make the RFC call and split the message into multiple messages. Subsequently I have taken a multi line container inside the BPM to receive these messages and process them Parforeach and then a switch is applied to handle the rest of the scenario.
Problem is when I am trying to execute the scenario, it fails in first step(multi mapping) before the BPM, it is not able to create the node for the multiple message.
To explain a bit more, Message type say M1 is linked to Message interface MI1_OB. Then I have created an abstract message interface MI1_ABS and made it as 0---unbounded. Similarly in the message mapping I have changed the occurrence of the target message type (same as source message type)

Using multi mappings in a synchronous intergace mappings scenario.

Hi XI Gurus
I have a synchronous soap --> XI --> Sync. RFC scenario (non BPM) which works fine.
My requirement is to add another mapping object using multi mappings in this scenario, but since XI has a limitation which prohibits me to use multimappings as interface mapping used is a synchronous one.
Can this be achieved using a BPM ?
Is it possible to use two asynchronous message mappings instead of one synchronous Interface mappings?

To explain the issue in other words..
I would like to use a asynchronous interface mapping instead of synchronous one being used currently to access RFC.
I need to use asynchronous Interface mapping as the multi mappings are not supported by synchronous Interface mappings in XI
as has been described on help.sap.com "If you want to map multiple messages to each other by using a multi-mapping, you can only specify asynchronous interfaces" on link

So the burning issue boils down to if I can break a synchronous call (RFC request/response in my case) in to 2 asynchronous ones.

Duplicate Message ID issue in case of Multi mapping (without BPM)

Hi Experts,
I am doing one sample Example for my requirement of converting the single source message data into the multiple Target messages.
for example, when sender system is sending the 5 sale order details into a single message in PI then my Inbound proxy class of ECC R/3 receiver system must get this sale orders separately, that means inbound proxy class method must be triggered separately for 5 sale orders from sender system. for achieving this, I have used the Multi mapping concept in ESR (without BPM).
This scenario is in Asynchronous mode.
The below screen shots give the details on what I have configures so far.
IN ESR
IN ID
IN SXMB_MONI of PI
IN SXMB_MONI of ECC R/3 Receiver system (Error in Processing)
due to this error, inbound Proxy class method is not being triggered for the single Sale order details as well,
please let me know how to tackle this duplicate message ID issue when we have multiple payloads to process in a single message.
please also let me know if is there any other workaround to fulfil this requirement.

Messages that result from the split in a mapping-based message split are sent using one AE. So only adapters running on the AE are supported. In particular, this means that target IDOC message splits are not supported since the IDOC adapter is not part of the AE.

ID will have only ID under it. instead of creating flat structure like the one above Jin has changed the strucutre below . you will have only ID field in it or you want u can add other fields in it .

Error: 1:n multi-mapping using BPM for file to file scenario

Hi. Iu2019m trying to do 1:n multi-mapping using bpm scenario. I use file to file. Input file consists of many records and then I want many record to be transformed into many file at target system. I follow step in http://www.riyaz.net/blog/xipi-1n-multi-mapping-using-bpm/. However, I have a problem when file is retrieved in to XI. It doesnu2019t create any output file.
When I look at SXMB_MONI, it shows u201CNo object type found for the message Check that the corresponding process is activated.u201D Besides, it shows error message "Unable to perform action for selected message" when i clikc at PE in SXMB_MONI.
I have check at many previous posts with the same error message but still couldnu2019t solve it. I already activate my BPM and check that status in SXI_CACHE = 0. There is noting left in change list of my IR and ID.
Here is my design and configuration.

Data Type: DT_file_split -> for both input and output file
Message Type: MT_file_split_sender, MT_file_split_receiver
Message Interface: SI_file_split_in, SI_file_split_out, SI_file_abs_source, SI_file_abs_target

Hi,
Yes, thats the problem.
You are creating file from test tab of 1..N mapping .
In case of 1..N mappping in mapping Extra tags of messages are addded to the data.As shown here:-
Messages
 Message1
 MessageType
When you use this mapping to generate xml message then it will add additional tags for <Messages> and <Message1>, which is not correct. it should only have structure of you MT.
So remove start and end tag of <Messages> and <Message1> from your data file. Mentioned below in bold.

<MT_...>
</MT_...>
</Message1>
</Messages>
This should solve your problem.

Error in Multi-mapping without BPM

Hi frnds,
I am doing a scenario File-XI-File. I am using the multi-splitting thing in the Message mapping. I have taken care of all the occurance's and "enhanced" thing in the IR and ID resp. I m using SP16. I want to avoid BPM.
But therez sme error cming up. When I check the MONI, its shwing "No messages created from split mapping" and when I test my interface using the Test Configuration in the ID, its shwing error in the Receiver Determination -- "HTTP connection to ABAP Runtime failed. Error: 403 Forbidden"
I have checked most of the blogs and forum suggestions. I have checked the ICF activations as well ...
So, do come back to me with your valuable suggestions, and I will award them points, if they really help me out.

When I check the MONI, its shwing "No messages created from split mapping"
For this, Can you check the source XML. Does it contain Tags like <messages> .. If yes, you need to remove them from your source XML.
If i am right, you have copied the XML from the TEST tab of the message mapping and pasted it in a notepad and saved it without making any changes at all..... Just do as i have mentioned above and i am sure you will no more get that error message in your MONI....

Interface Mappings in BPM Collect Pattern

I am new to XI development and currently facing problems while implementing collect pattern of BPM.
I am trying to map IDoc structure with target legacy format.In BPM I had a block with infinite loop where I am transforming IDocs to target legacy format.Then I am trying to transform list element (Multiline Abstract container variable) to form a single message.For this I tried to have interface map with Occurences 0..unbound..but while activation of Interface Map it gives error
 Mapping program Message does not match the interface mapping. The number or frequencies of source or target messages for the message mapping are not identical to the number or frequencies of source or target interfaces.
If I use single line in Interface map then in BPM it gives error when passed Multiline element to this Interface map.
I checked the sample program provided by SAP but I found out that every message interface was using same Message Type which has got occurence as 1 but in the message mapping program its 0..unbound.
My question is can we have data type (or Message type )with Occurence as 1 and Message Mapping program using same message type with occurences 0..unbound..I tried to find such option but could'nt find that.Otherwise how to do Interface Map for transforming Multiline parameter of BPM to a single message.

Initially I tried to perform test by tree view and it worked fine.But it was one message in the source and the same was in target.Later as given by you I updated XML source message.The source message looks like

Multi Mapping without BPM (JMS 2 IDoc)

Hi,
i have a JMS-Query where it is necessary to map the given data to two different IDoc Types.
Therefore i have to mappings in two different namespaces. Is it possible to use these insde of the interface Mapping?! Or does the target types have to be in one mapping and one namespace?!
Can i use context objects?!

With context object , we can route based on condition , this will be used in interface determination with condition , to this condition , we can use Context object, but it should be configured in MI.

Multiple mappings without BPM

Hi Gurus,
I have to change an existing scenario in which I have to send message from SystemA to systemB like this.
(SystemA)SoureceMsg to ErrorMsg & ErrorMsg to MailMsg, TargetMsg(in SystemB)
in this case the error message will not go to any system it just an intermediate message which just hangs in PI 7.0 system..
I should not use BPM according the requirement and I should n't create temperory file for error message and pick it again to create the mailMsg.
Once the source message is generated it should go all the way to create mail message.
I have different existing mappings for
1. SoureceMsg to ErrorMsg
2. ErrorMsg to MailMsg
3. SoureceMsg to TagetMsg
Please guide me how to do it.

If the error message is created using file adapter then may be you can try using Response one way bean in module tab of the communication channel(file adapter) to route the message to mail adapter for creating the mail from it and you need to have configuration set up for this. Please refer the below links

Question on use of multi-mappings in interface mappings

We have the following scenario :
1. XI receives a orders05 idoc - xml and does a first message map - splitting this xml into two - a lookup key msg type and a copy of orders05 msg type ( 1:n )
2. These two messages from the first mapping are used in a second message mapping ( of type multi-mapping too ) ( n:1) to create the final orders05 message.
3. These two message maps are put sequentially in the interface mapping.
orders05 -> MessageMapping1 -> MessageMapping2 -> orders05 . Please note that our objective is to send one single ORDERS05 idoc into the end R3 system - using the idoc adapter. The use of multi-mapping is in the interim - and not in the idoc adapter.
Issues:
a. the "ns0:Messages" and "ns:Message[n]" tags are not being created automatically.
b. In the interface determination we do not see the interface mapping when we select the 'enhanced' option.
Any ideas, pointers as to what I am missing here ? I am on a critical timeline to implement this and can't understand whats going wrong ?

In your suggestion - to use two interface mappings - how I can configure the two interface mappings as a part of a single interface determination so that they execute one after the other . Or is it two interface determinations - one for each interface mapping - how do I relate these two ?
Also, I assume that since the message mappings in the interface mappings are multimappings , I need to use enhanced interface determination .
Could you share one of the scenarios wherein you had two interface mappings execute in a series - ? Thanks for your time.

Idoc multi mappings in a single interface

Hello Folks
I have to send three different types of Idocs (MATMAS, CLFMAS, BOMMAT) from R/3 to XI.
The sender application sends only one file and I need to map the data relevant to each of these Idocs and post in R/3 separately in a defined sequence. Customer wants me to incorporate all of these idocs in a single interface. How can I achieve this?
If I want to create the interfaces separately in XI for each Idocs, then how can I use the same inbound file to XI for all of the Idoc interfaces?
Which is the best way to achieve this type of scenario? I would like to know the solution without BPM preferably.

This is the scenario again
Send a single File from a sender application.
Receive the file in BPM.
Create three message mappings/interface mappings for MATMAS, CLFMAS and BOMMAT in XI repository separately for each.
The file has the data for these three idocs. I wil keep the file message type as the same source for these three interfaces in the mapping and change the target message type accordingly.
Create a interface determination with three interface mappings involved.
Create a receiver determination
Create a receiver R/3 at the end to receive the messages.
For all these three idoc interfaces, I am going to use a single receiver agreement and sender agreement
In this BPM, the ALEAUD message should also be incorporated. When the MATMAS is send across to R/3, I need to receive the ALEAUD from R/3 and find the status of this. If it is success, then send the CLFMAS to R3 or else, roll back the MATMAS idoc sent and end the process. If CLFMAS is also success, then send the BOMMAT idoc or else, roll back the BOMMAT idoc and end the process. If BOMMAT is also success, then end the process.
In R/3, I have to run the report RBDSER04 to generate and post the idocs based on serialization group. Here I am not sure about how to use the roll back of Idocs sent to R3 in BPM since the idoc is only generated and posted together when this report is executed. SO what do we do to roll back the message sent from XI to R/3?
