Multi-Site WAN With Centralized Call Manager

The customer has HQ with 15 Branches. Head quarter has about 4300 Phones, and Branches has:
Branch 1 = 420
Branch 2 = 256
Branch 3 = 385
Brnach 4 = 298
Branch 5 = 262
Branch 6 = 171
Branch 7 = 200
Branch 8 = 97
Branch 9 = 198
Branch 10 = 254
Branch 11 = 269
Branch 12 = 224
Branch 13 = 90
I would still like to propose Centralized Call Manager Cluster with SRST, but little confused since the number of phones per branch is very high.
What would be best deployment model for this type of scenerio along with VoiceMail and CER.

Of course you can use CME/CUE, but the problem is that you need 3845 for SRST with CME/CUE, which cost a lot of money CISCO3845-CCME/K9 is $16495 plus CUE ($3000, not include voice mail subscriber box).
So I will agree what people suggest here.
I have centralized design (Publisher, subscriber) at Main Location, and another subscriber at remote site coz 500 users. I chose put subscriber there rather than use 3845 with SRST.
They share voice box at Main site (Unified).
The rest of remote site use SRST for backup.
Large remote site with T1 PRI with SRST if WAN down.
Small remote site with vic2-2fxo/4fxo with SRST if WAN down.
You can read the SRND here:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_implementation_design_guide_book09186a00806e8a79.html
Also, you can design multiple cluster depends the location of main and branches. For example, half office located at West Coast, another half at East Coast. If I were you, I will create two clusters.
Again, it depends a lot of things, for example bandwidth, round-trip delay etc...
Hopefully, thats can help you.

  • Hi Team, I wuold like to know if you have any app to make Firefox OS working with cisco Call Manager 10.5. Something like Cisco Jabber for Android or iOS.

I'm interesting on buying a Firefox Smart Phone, but
I would like to know if are any app to install on Firefox OS smart phone in order to work with cisco call manager 10.5.
Something like Cisco Jabber for Android o iOS.
    Thanks,

    Hi Itech,
If Cisco Jabber has a webapp, or mobile version of their website available, you should technically be able to access it through Firefox OS.
You may also search Firefox Marketplace for an alternative solution:

  • Is it possible to integrate Nokia E62 with Cisco Call Manager 4.x?

The Nokia E-61 can be integrated with Cisco Call manager 4.x using a Nokia Call Connect 1.0 client.
1.Is it possible to do the same with Nokia E62.If it can be done, what would be the requirements?
2.Is Nokia E-62 PDA a Cisco Compatible Extension device?

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply. You are right in saying that nokia and cisco are increasing the number of models supported.Infact the E65 has already joined the club. But my point of interest is the nokia E62 in particular. This Nokia E62 device
    1) does not support WLAN interface(while E61,E65 does).
    2) It is not Cisco Commpatible extension device.(I did not find E62 in the list of Cisco Compatible extensions.chk out the attachments for more info).
3)It is not compatible with Nokia Intellisync CAll Connect 1.0(while E61 and E65 are compatible.chk out the attachment for more info).
I found this rather weird and i wondered if Nokia E62 can be integrated with Cisco Call manager ,especially a device which is not Cisco compatible. The only possibility i can see from your answer is that the Nokia E62 might not be SIP enabled(correct me if i am wrong here!)
My objective is to send a message from a CUAE script to a nokia E62 device. Please excuse me if my posting is not in the right place.i would be highly grateful to you if you could give me pointers to an appropiate location where i can get my queries answered.

  • Integrating multiple UCCX clusters with same Call Manager Cluster

I want to know if I can integrate multiple UCCX clusters with 1 Call Manager cluster? If yes, can someone please point me to the documentation.
    I appreciate all the help..
    Thanks!!!

    Hi
Yes, you can. I'm not aware of specific documentation for this, but a couple of notes:
    - Make sure you use unique resource accounts (e.g. JT user in particular as that is automatically managed by UCCX and one cluster WILL break the other)
    - I would also use unique AXL accounts and probably RM accounts. RM you could share between clusters to just have one RM account to associate any agent phone to, but it's safer to have single-purpose service accounts.
    - You can't assign a user to a particular cluster - so you enable IPCC Extension on one user, they appear in 'resources' on both UCCX servers.

  • Integration with Cisco Call Manager?

We have Cisco VOIP phones and we would like to continue managing calls with Cisco Call Manager.  We currently have voicemail on Cisco Unity.  We currently have Exchange 2010, but plan to start using Exchange 2013 soon.
However, we would like to migrate voicemail service from Cisco Unity to Exchange Unified Messaging and also want to take advantage of most of the voicemail-related features of UM such as voice to text sent to email, voice mail waiting indicator light on
the phones and sending voice mail audio attachments to email.
Is Exchange 2013 Unified Messaging compatible Cisco phones that are managed by Cisco Call Manager?
We have 500 users and 2 Exchange 2010 servers (1 CAS and 1 Mailbox Server).  We now have a few Exchange 2013 licenses available in addition to our existing 2010 licenses that are already used on our existing 2 servers.  Can we keep the 2 existing
Exchange 2010 servers as they are and create a new Unified Messaging server on  Exchange 2013 in the same environment or do we need to upgrade all the 2010 servers to 2013 if we use Unified Messaging on 2013?

  • Multi-site Webdialer/Click to Call not working

    Hello pros
I have a CUCM 7.1 deployment  with 50+ sites.  I got Click 2 Call and Webdialer to work on the central site, but trying to start a call from a phone that is not on the main site does not work. I guess is related with some filtering access/list on the path... Before checking routers and switches access lists like crazy, I would like to know which ports CUCM uses to control the IP phone and which ports would use the phone to answer to those requests. ¿Can anyone give me a hand with this? I haven`t found it on the documentation.
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Inder,
Thanks for your input. However Im not sure if 8443 is all I need, communciation between Click2Call and CUCM seems to be fine. I´ll explain what I got.
PC in central site, phone in central site WORKS
PC in remote site, phone in remoet site FAIL
PC through VPN (bypassing WAN restrictions), phone in remote site FAIL
PC through VPN (bypassing WAN restrictions), phone in central site WORKS
PC through VPN (bypassing WAN restrictions), IPC in same PC WORKS
So the problem seems to be between CUCM and Phones in remote sites...
    Please share your  thoughts
    Thanks again, pros

  • SQL Server 2012 Multi-Site clustering with 2 nodes for HA and DR

Usually we setup 2 Node Prod cluster for Local HA and 1 or 2 Nodes in other data centre for DR
Given that we have an option to setup multi-site / multi-subnet clustering from SQL 2008 R2/2012. I am planning to use just 2 nodes, 1 in prod data centre and 1 in DR data centre with 2 or 3 instances. This will act as both HA and DR solution.
I would like to know if this solution is good, and any disadvantages, any best practices, etc.? By implementing this I can save some cost on physical servers.
    Following will be configured:
    * Will be using different subnets, quorum on different server with "Node and File Share Majority"
    * All virtual IPs will be registered for virtual name, and Subnetdelay, Subnet threshold will be modified accordingly
    * All nodes on same domain
    * Use SAN Disk with replication to DR site

SQL 2008 R2 doesn't support multi-subnet clustering. You would still need 3rd party component like VLAN and Disk Replication. SQL 2012 is the first version to support multi-subnet clustering without using VLAN. you would still need disk replication hardware/software.
    Taken from my book
Since nodes are often located in two different data centers at geographically dispersed locations, there is no shared storage between the nodes in a multi-site cluster. Clustering across two different data centers provides a higher level of availability and
protection at the storage level as we have more than a single copy of the data.
For SAN replication technology implemented in such clusters, the main activity is to keep data replicated between the sites. Typically, if we have nodes on two different sites, we would have two different network infrastructures and the nodes would be in
different subnets. In such cases, if we are on a SQL Server version before 2012, we need to use third party VLAN (Virtual LAN) technology so that one IP address travels between two sites. This is called wide-IP. Companies hesitate with this solution because
of the need to buy a third party solution to deploy the VLAN. Using VLAN technology means the same IP address would failover to the remote site in case of a local site disaster. Network administration might consider this as an overhead to maintenance and an
extra piece of the networking component that needs to be secure.
With SQL Server 2012 we do not need to use stretch VLAN technology but SAN replication is still needed for multi-site clustering. The OS version for this can be from Windows Server 2008 R2 and above. In this deployment, we can have a SQL virtual network
name having an “OR” dependency on two different IP addresses. One address would be representing each subnet. With the “OR” dependency, if IP1 or IP2 is online we just use the network name. This is one of the Enterprise Editions only features.
Other option which you can think of, without using 3rd party solutions would be AlwaysOn Availability Group. I have written details about it in my book.

  • PRAA in combination with central address management

    Hello,
In our system we have central adress management activated. All the
personell nrs are entered with the correct address (sreetname and
housenumber in 2 separate fields). We use this information to create
the corresponding vendor numbers in FI (transaction PRAA).
However, with transaction PRAA both the address (streetname and
housenumber) are copied into one field (streetname). As a consequence,
the corresponding batch input session, which is using program SAPMF02K,
cannot automatically (in bcakground) create all the vendors, since we
always get a message about central address management. (Streetname does
not exist, because it wrongly contains both the streetname as well as
    the housnumber.)
The field USE_ZAV which is automatically ENTERED in the background
processing of the SAPMF02K batch job, is causing this address check.
We think this is a bug.
Ideally the PRAA should be entering the streetname and housnumber in 2
separate fields in FI-vendor master data, of the automatic check of
field USE_ZAV should not be entered in this batch input background
    processing.
Can you please give us some advice on how to deal with this situation?
    Kind regards

  • Exchange 2010 - Multi Site DAG with DAC - Node evicted

I have a 2 site DAG with 4 members, 2 at each site with DAC set.
    Primary Site:
    EXMB01
    EXMB02
    FSW
    Failover Site:
    EXMB03 - PAM
    EXMB04
    AFSW
After updating and rebooting one of the members in the primary active site (exmb02), it looks like the server was removed from the cluster as it was booting back up:
    Event ID: 4621
    Source: FailoverClustering
This node was successfully removed from the cluster.
Directly preceding that, in the Failover Cluster Manager events, I can see the following progression:
    Event ID: 4620
    Task Category: Cluster Evict/Destroy Cleanup
Unloading the cluster service registry hive during cluster node cleanup failed. The error code was '3221225569'. You may be unable to create or join a cluster with this machine until cleanup has been successfully completed. For manual cleanup, execute the
'Clear-ClusterNode' PowerShell cmdlet on this machine.
and then: Cluster node cleanup encounted at least one error. You may be unable to create or join a cluster with this machine until cleanup has been successfully completed. Please review and resolve preceding cluster node cleanup events. For manual cleanup,
execute the 'Clear-ClusterNode' PowerShell cmdlet on this machine.
And then from all three other nodes:
Node MGR: Cluster node USTRYCO01EXMB02 has been evicted from the failover cluster.
I intend to move the PAM role back to the primary sight, I had not noticed it was there.
Curiously, if I run Cluster.exe node, I can see that all 4 nodes are listed as UP.
What do I need to do to recover EXMB02?  I've read that sometimes just a reboot will clean up the cluster configuration,  but how would I add the node back into the cluster?  Why is it still listed as a node if it was evected?  Also,
what is the significance of having the PAM role in the primary data center as opposed to the failover data center?

    Hi,
From the error message, you need to run the following cmdlet to force the cleanup on server EXMB02.
    CLUSTER NODE /FORCECLEANUP
For more details about error 4620 and 4622, you can refer to these two articles: Event ID 4620 — Node Cleanup Success
    and
Event ID 4622 — Node Cleanup Success.
About PAM, the PAM role is automatically held by the DAG member that owns the cluster’s core resource group. It doesn't matter what site the PAM is in, if the server that owns the cluster quorum resource fails, the PAM role automatically moves to a surviving
server that takes ownership of the cluster quorum resource.

  • Toll fraud traffic pumping on a Call manager express and unity express with an 800 toll free number.

I have a customer with a call manager express and a unity express. They have an 800 toll free number that rings in to an auto attendant on the CUE. The problem is something called toll fraud traffic pumping. The caller, always from a different number, reaches the auto attendant by dialing the 800 number. They then somehow manage to keep the line connected for up to 12 hours by somehow staying in the auto attendant. I opened a TAC case and was informed that it is not in Cisco's hands to create a way to disconnect a call that is connected to the CUE. I need a way to have a call that stays in the auto attendant or voicemail after 3 to 5 minutes. I can't see a way to do it in the auto attendant script. Can someone help with a method that will disconnect the caller if they stay in the CUE for a period of time?

Thank you for the response Jaime.
That is what TAC told me. I am not familiar with TCL scripting and I have been looking at some guides on it. Any advice on a source to go to for assistance with that, possibly someone to help?

    Hello,
My costumer has call-manager 5.1 and Cisco Unity 5.0 (voice e-mail only) working perfectly on his company.

Use office communicator (presence) according to the status of user's phone; also implementing functions like "click-to-dial".
Is there any kind of software or license that I should get from Cisco to implement these functions?

  • SPA112 use with Call Manager

We have used ATA 186 devices with our Call Manager system for use with fax machines and analog phones in a manufacturing environment.  I am hopeful that the SPA112 can be used as a lower cost alternative to the older ATAs.
I have searched for basic configuration information for use with Call Manager but haven't come across anything.
Can these devices be used with Call Manager and is there basic information available on how to configure them?
    Thanks.

The SPA112 is essentially the same as the Linksys PAP2t adapter.
They both use SIP protocol, and can be added to Callmanager, but I don't think the SPA112 is supported in this configuration.
I was able to get the SPA112 to work with CallManager by adding it as an Advanced SIP device.  That uses more licenses (6 I think).
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2082101
That details getting a Linksys PAP2 device working with CallManager 7.1
I got SPA112's working by using the info in that link.  You have to set it all up manually, but it does work.
