Multiple characater set data

I have data in multiple character sets, eg. ASCII, IBM850, Windows1252, UTF8 etc. I want to insert them into the database. How do I specify the character set of the data at bind time in ODBC.
If this is not possible, what is an alternative?

thanks matt; despite a questionable layout for this setup i think that you'll end up with problems exporting those values to xml as you can't join them in a say, people subset, as each person is basically a standalone value.
in any case i can argue that this is a real deal breaker for a bunch of organizations given that you would expect a simple multiple choice field based on existing lookup values with an optional possibility to populate the set with new values for the end user (based on your permission) -- or alternatively a text input with auto suggestion based on lookup values that allows you to add/remove multiple records via [+/-] which again end up in one single field.

I've never seen this used the way you are using it. In my experience the only way to do this would be to execute a single SQL statement that returns multiple result sets - you are trying to append two SQL statements.
You could define an in-line procedure wrapping your two select statements, or you could define a stored procedure to do the same thing. Then (either way) use CallableStatement to execute the call to the procedure.

I have an issue where i have created a stored procedure that returns multiple result sets

SELECT * FROM Addresses

WHERE Addresses.OrderID = @SalesOrderID AND Addresses.AddressType = 'Billing'
This is just a quick sample, the actual procedure is a lot more complex but this illustrates the theory.
When I set the report source in Crystal X to the stored procedure it is only allowing me to add rows from the first result set.
Is there any way to get around this issue?
The reason that I would prefer to use a stored procedure to get all the data is simply performance. Without using one big stored procedure I would have to run at least 6 sub reports which is not acceptable because the number of sub reports could grow exponentially depending on the number of items for a particular sales order.
Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated.

Adam, apologies for the redirect, but it is better to have .NET posts in one place. That way anyone can search the forum for answers. (and I do not have the rights to move posts).
Anyhow, as long as the report is created, you should be able to pass the datasets as:
crReportDocument.Database.Tables(0).SetDataSource(dataSet.Tables("NAME_OF_TABLE"))
Of course alternatively, (not sure if this is possible in your environment) you could create a multi-table ADO .NET dataset and pass that to the report.

Multiple events per date with only one photo each - Unwanted

I have the eyefi wireless sd card in my camera and it is setup to transmit my photos into iphoto automatically, which it does. However, the problem arises in that iphoto creates multiple events for the same date each containing only one photo. I would prefer that iphoto create individual events per date and have the multiples of that date's photos within. I thought I had the settings configured to do so as I have preferences set for autosplit events one per day but I still see events such as - July 3, 2008 - July 3, 2008 - July 3, 2008 - each with only one photo inside.
I am wondering if it is something in iphoto's settings or the way in which eyefi transmits the photos into iphoto.
Any thoughts?

I do not have a WiFi connection to my camera so can not test but am just guessing
I can think of two possibilities
- 1 - if you are taking the photos with the WiFi connected then each time you snap a photo it may be being sent which would be looked at as a new import and therefore create a new event - to stop this I believe you would have to not have a full time WiFi connection to your camera or somehow set the camera to send batched - not each one - iPhoto will take each batch into and follow the rules for making events for that batch even if you camera is sending many batches of One photo
- 2 - You have the preference for making batches set to one every two hours and there is a long time between photos - I'm guessing that #1 is more likely

Multiple result sets from stored procedure into CachedRowSet

How can you obtain multiple sets of data from a stored procedure that returns multiple result sets, when you'd like to use CachedRowSet rather than ResultSet?
My database's stored procedures return multiple result sets, but I'm not sure how to manipulate that using CallableStatements and CachedRowSets... I read the RowSet tutorial from java.sun.com but that didn't cover the case of multiple result sets and CallablStatements.
How might I do this? Thanks a lot.

1. Create a table with structure same as SP resultset
2. Populate table with SP result as per below
INSERT table
EXEC SPName param1value,...
3. Add a query like below
SELECT columns..
FROM tablename
FOR XML PATH('NodeName'),('RootName')

Expand Multiple Version Sets

I just upgraded to PSE9 from PSE6. I am doing a little housecleaning and need to move many many many files. Is there a way to select a whole bunch of pictures and expand all the version sets in there? For instance, if a find by a date range, then find all version sets, now I would like to 'select all' and be able to expand the version sets. Not Possible??? Doesn't seem to be. Any ideas how I can use a workaround?

That's not the answer. I know there are a number unrealistic expectations with the organizer. Let's see if it's the case here.

It's very different from the original subject, not about expanding multiple version sets.
It's simply about trusting, or the limits in trusting in the 'file/move' function of the organizer, which is a subject you'll have seen discussed many times, and for which I have never seen a clear answer. On the other hand you have seen hundreds of times the advice to use the organizer move feature instead of doing this outside of the organizer. Where is the truth? It's not because I have personally never met a problem with the move feature that it can work in all circumstances, in all versions and OS.
The reported behaviour is that the algorithm plays nicely and ends without warning nor freezing after skipping many files. This is very unusual, but it seems to be repetitive in a given environment (we don't know the details of...) This hints rather at a 'bug' in the algorithm rather than a compatibility problem with the OS or an available RAM or disk space, but we can't know without searching further.
You'll note that the move feature is a basic and fundamental argument in favor of a database management system : it's not anecdotic, so it is just natural to expect it does work properly.
If there are limits in the conditions the move feature can work properly it's realistic to expect to know them. And if those limits are known to the developers, something should be done to warn the user and avoid program crashes or false results.

Create Multiple Signature and Date fields with a custom Toolbar Button

First off, thanks in advance! I am a scripting newbie and I am trudging my way through with very little experience with scripting of any kind. I am good at taking other's scripts and forming them into something I need, but I can't seem to find anything to do what I want.
Using Adobe Acrobat X, I am trying to create a toolbar button that I can press to create multiple signature and date fields with predetermined locations.
Below is the script I have that is working to create just a single signature box, but I can't seem to figure out the exact syntax to have that same button create multiple fields. In total it is 9 signature fields and 9 date fields need to be created. If you can just give me an example of what the button would look like with multiple scripts? I was assuming I would set up multiple variables and then in the cExec property of the toolbar button I could just call out all of those variables?

I do have one more question. What I want is when the signature field is clicked it fills out a specific date field. I beleive the script I want would be:

I found this on another thread that mentioned it could be placed in the Signed tab of the signature properties dialog. I am assuming it would be placed in my button script file as a setAction script for each signature, but I am not real sure exactly where or how?

Convert the resultSet from the db to a Object[][], let's call it result.
Then create a JTable (jTable1).
On the JTable you need to define the headers, and the data itself.
You can get the headers from ResultSetMetaData. Convert these to an array again (headers).
Now use these methods to create a model and set the model of the JTable.
Model model = new DefaultTableModel(result, headers);
jTable1.setModel(model);That's about the basics.

Dynamically Set date not changing in schedule Job

Hi,
I have created a report with "Order Date" as one of the parameters on the selection screen. I have created a variant, say 'X' , to set this date parameter dynamiccaly as "Current date - 31 days".
I have scheduled this program to run in background with the 'X' variant daily at certain time.
Now, for the day on which I created this job , the Order Date is set to correct date . For ex if I am scheduling the job tdy it will be set to 06/10/08. However, for next day , that is tom this date is not getting changed. i.e Tommorrow again Order date is 06/10/08 but it should have been 07/10/08.
So basically this dynamically set date is not chaning in the scheduled job.
Any idea why this is happening and what is the corrective measure for this.

There is an INITIALIZATION event in the program.......
Do the processing your date in that event only....
for ex....
select-options: date for order-date.
INITIALIZATION.
date-low = sy-datum or wat ever.

2.It will again stuck on that setting, ignore it by press menu
3. Unplug ethernet wire
4. Try to connect with wifi, it should be work with wifi connection as mine.
5. Then you can switch back Ethernet wire after get fixed.

I'd suggest you consider a cloud-based file sharing service such as Dropbox for this sort of use. iOS is not designed to be synched with more than one iTunes library at a time, so attempting to use it as you describe, connecting a single iPad to multiple computers, almost certainly won't work as you intend and is likely to cause nothing but headaches.

HT5706 I have not used my apple tv in a few years, and just got it out of the bag. I connected it up, and it cannot set date, time. it also does not interact with the remote. Could it be as simple as a new batter is needed for remote?

Programatically set date of picktime.vi

I am using the picktime.vi calendar as a subpanel (yes...i am aware there is an activex calendar -- using it is not an option right now). Anyways, what I want to do is if a user wants to edit a record that was on the date 1/1/11 but currently the date selected in the calendar is 2/2/11, I want to programmatically set the date back to 1/1/11. I can use value signaling properties to set the month and year, but because the date is a MC listbox controlled in the VI only through mouse up/keyup events I am not sure how to set this. Does anyone have any ideas?
One thought I have is to add a state to the VI called set date, but I'm trying not to modify it since it is native to LabVIEW and is called when the calendar icon is pressed next to a timestamp control. I could make a copy of this VI and do that, but again, I'm trying to avoid this.
Suggestions?

Thanks for the response, but no this is not exactly what I want. I don't want to actually change the date of the computer, I just want to set the date the calendar has selected to some other date. The computers date/time is only used on initialization of the VI or when the user pressed the "now" boolean.
Think of it this way --
I select 1/24/11 on the calendar and add a record for that date, which puts an entry in a MC listbox
I then select 1/22/11 on the calendar and add a record for that date which puts another entry in a MC listbox
So, now the calendar shows 1/22/11 highlighted
Then I say, oops, the record I entered for 1/24/11 has a typo, so I select that record in the MC listbox and press edit to make the change
The calendar should then be set back to highlighting January, 24 2011.

Would like to know whether anyone has attempted matching across multiple character sets, for example, between English and Japanese: what are the pitfalls to avoid, what are the best practices, and what you would like to see from application/tools perspective as an ideal solution. thanks

If you upgrade to Logic Pro, you'll get WaveBurner as part of the package which helps you do this, including tweaking your pauses between tracks, fades etc.
If you have Toast, you can do it there too.
If you don't have any 3rd. party software, the work around would be to assemble all your songs in order, end to end in a new Logic file, and listen to all your tracks and adjust the relative levels between songs, then bounce out the individual tracks which have volume changes with their new volume settings. Finally you could then use any burning app such as [SimplyBurns|http://bit.ly/c1oglP] to create CDs or bounce them out in Logic with the additional .mp3 option.
Obviously it's important to listen to your material in order, in context, as some songs will be at the wrong subjective level depending on the tracks either side in the placement. This isn't really important in digital distribution where your material probably won't be listened to as a whole, but as individual downloads.
