then when i said  sqlplus / as sysdba
The new instance is starting.. then i tried sqlplus  sys/sys  as sysdba previous instance password.. it's asking for user name & password.. ??? which i did give & its promting error..
how to deal with multiple instances in windows 7??
& i created a user using net user administrator /active:no ... now i cudn't get to add this user to DBA group?? As while editing tnsnames.ora & etc.. it's saying access denied so created admin user.. now cudn't login to dba user using administrtor profile.. how to add this in dba group ??

Did you create both databases from the same ORACLE_HOME, or did you actually install oracle twice, into separate ORACLE_HOMEs and create your two databases from those separate homes?

  • Run Multiple Instances of Windows Store App

    We have a desktop app which we are considering porting to Windows Store. Our app allows the user to generate orders. If the user wishes to generate several orders simultaneously, they open several instances of our app.
    Is it possible to run multiple instances of a Windows Store app on Windows 10?

    Hi,
    Another thread in MSDN forum already answered this question:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/windowsapps/en-us/19b5bd94-d772-46b0-b5af-a1be475b0e16/multiple-instance-in-metro-app
    The app is still single instance, but it can now open multiple windows by calling
    CoreApplication.CreateNewView. This is demonstrated in the

  • How can i run multiple instances of Photoshop EXE at the same time on windows 7

    Alright. You may ask why do you need multiple ?
    Assume that i have 10000 PSD files in 10 different folders
    I have a script that just save as them as PNG
    And these files are each 3000x3000 px
    My computer has 8 cores and 1 photoshop exe is only using 1 cpu core
    Also i have SSD raid system it has 750 mb read write per second
    So right now i am wasting my time with running only 1 photoshop exe instead of at least 4

    I'm not aware of a way to run multiple instances or different versions of photoshop at the same time on windows.
    Assuming of course they are all installed on the same operating system.
    On mac versions you can running two different versions of photoshop at the same time, but i don't think that's possible on windows where it
    appears that only one version of photoshop can run at a time.

  • Multiple instances of Word launching when opening files from Explorer window

    I am seeing an odd behavior with Word 2010 (32 bit) that I could not replicate in earlier versions of Word.
    Here are the steps:
    Note: When performing these steps, I am on a 32 bit Windows 7 machine. Word is not running yet, and the Task Manager dialog is open with the processes sorted in reverse alpha order so that WinWord.exe will appear at the top.
    1. Go to a folder containing a set of word documents or templates (all are in either .docx or .dotx format) in Windows Explorer.
    2. Select a group of files (I am selecting 4 .docx files in my tests).
    3. Right-click and select Open.
    4. Four instances of WINWORD.EXE appear in the Task Manager (one of them then goes away, leaving only three instances running, but I think that's beside the point).
    Could someone shed light on why this is happening with Word 2010 and if there's anything that can be done to make it "behave" and open only one instance?
    PS - The templates contain no code, and no add-ins are loaded at the time that I perform these steps. Also, all Word and Office updates have been installed on the machine.
    Thanks

    Koero, did you try the registry hack proposed in this forum?
    I started getting multiple instances of Word 2010 two days ago in Windows 7 on my company PC after a reboot following a Windows updates pushed out by the IT department.
    This also happened immediately after a Windows update on May
    27, 2014, but somehow I was able to stop that behavior then.  That fix happened after I restored a old copy of Normal.dotm but evidently that
    was not the solution because restoring that copy did not fix the problem today.
    The fix suggested by
    peebs7384 in this forum on April 19, 2012 of changing the "Lay
    out this document" setting did not work on my PC.
    One support person who has both the 2010 and 2013 versions indicated that he also gets multiple instances with 2010 but not with 2013.
    I plan to ask my IT department to attempt a fix tomorrow and will suggest that they try registry hack posted in this forum by
    kit_jj on Aug 16, 2012 (based on Pierre's posting) (thanks
    kit_jj and Pierre).
    By the way,
    kit_jj's posting has only 1 vote & I would had hoped to see more votes.  Now that I look more closely I see that this solution was "Proposed
    as answer by kit_jj" himself.  At least others have posted comments that indicate that fixes posted by
    kit_jj & Pierre have worked (at least partially).
    Any ideas as to why this started happening again?

  • Deploying Windows Azure Cloud Service to multiple instances

    Hello folks,
    Currently, I have Windows Azure Cloud service on one instance, if I move to multiple instances, will Azure deploy it to all instances during the time of deployment? Basically, the fact that there are multiple instances behind the Cloud Service will be transparent
    to the whole deployment process, is that a correct understanding?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    From my experience, all the instances in one cloud service were the same, and we just focus on the application and not the infrastructure. Refer to
    http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/services/cloud-services/ for more information.

  • Multiple instances of AcroRd32.exe while using Windows Explorer Preview Pane

    I'm trying to understand why our computers behave differently while browsing PDF files using Windows Explorer with the preview pane turned on.
    All are Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
    The scenario:  Open Windows Explorer with the preview pane turned on, go to a folder full of PDF files, and start single-clicking on them, one by one down the list.  Keep Task Manager open, on the Processes tab, showing processes from all users, as you click on the PDF files.
    On two of the computers, you can keep clicking right on the down the list, and the preview pane shows the PDF file contents immediately with each click.  The Task Manager does not show any instances of AcroRd32.exe running, and the machine does not slow down no matter how quickly you go down the list of files.  You can keep clicking all day.
    On the other two computers, as you keep clicking down the list, after about six or seven clicks, the machine starts getting slower and slower in responding to display the PDF contents.  In Task Manager, you see multiple instances of AcroRd32.exe executing, and the list keeps growing with more instances - I've seen up to 8, with memory allocations to some of the instances approaching 700MB!  One of the CPU cores goes to 100%. If you stop clicking in Windows Explorer, eventually, the machine recovers, and the list of multiple instances of AcroRd32.exe shrinks, but never goes away completely until you close the Explorer window.
    What could account for this difference?  One of the users is complaining - he often browses folders of scanned PDFs looking for invoices, transactions, etc., and has to go slowly to keep his machine from bogging down.  I don't know when this behavior started.
    It doesn't matter if it is a shared folder on a network resource or one locally on the machine, or if it is an admin or standard Windows account - the behavior is the same.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Reader, to no avail.
    Thanks for any ideas.

    Yes i'm having this issue to.
    Becomes worse after display many documents in pane, worst even if scanned images are in.
    After killing the  process, sometimes it generate even more process.
    After Killing all the process, sometimes need to deactivate the pane view and activate
    again to restore normal preview.
    Sometimes it takes a lot of time to progress to file below, if i wait, going to files above, it pass
    the file that shows delay, without any problem.
    I add received from Microsoft, in answer to the same issue to uninstall adobe reader and install
    latest version. It become a bit more stable, but problem still shows.
    Abobe reader: 10.1.0, ATI latest drivers 11-07
    Please, Help!

  • Multiple instances not starting using Windows services

    Hi,
    We have two Oracle instacnes installed in same oracle home. They are not starting using windows 2000 service manager.
    I have to go to svrmgrl and set the ORACLE_SID environment variable to startup each instance. How can I make them start through windows Services instead of manually doing it.
    Is installing multiple instances in same home a good idea?
    These multiple instances are not part of paralell server.
    Regards,
    Wasim.

    Hi,
    I have checked the registry keys and everything looks ok.
    ORACLE_instance_AUTOSTART is true
    ORACLE_instance_PFILE is correct
    ORACLE_instance_SHUTDOWN is true
    ORACLE_instance_SHUTDOWNTYPE is i
    Above values are right for both instances. I even have recreated the services using ORADIM. I can start both instances by going to command prompt set ORACLE_SID and start the instance using SVRMGRL. But they'll not autostart when the machine is rebooted.
    Regards,
    Wasim.

  • Adding multiple instances of a site column to a content type

    I read the posts at the link below (which references the exact same question that I will now ask), but is there any way to include multiple instances of the same site column (SC) to a content type (CT)?  The recommendation in the referenced thread is to create a copy of the SC for each column in the corresponding CT.  However, what I am attempting to do is create a document library, which contains a source document with an associated language, and a target document with an associated language.  Either, I need to create a list with both a source and target document that each store their own language, OR I need to add two columns, source language and target language, that are copies of the language column, OR I need a way to add the two aforementioned columns the way that I SHOULD be able to, which is by adding the language column twice, then changing the name accordingly.  Can anyone suggest the best way for me to do this?  Thanks,

  • Multiple instances of explorer.exe running in task manager

    I got a dropper trojan virus on my computer that microsoft security essencials do not recognized but after running "superantispyware" antivirus I got discover it and delete it. After that, I still could find the infected files in my
    administrator folders as .temp files and I just erased them. After that my computer started crashing and runing several instances of explorer.exe in the task manager with different memory values, some of them ascending to 350,000. I have set up my computer
    to run just the basic services, I have tried windows in safe mode, ran other antivirus programs but still it is performing the same. As far as I have noticed other unusual process present are host.dll, dllhost.exe, and logonUI.exe. Any idea about it? Thanks
    in advance for your help.

    I have the same issue. It started about a month ago when I was filling out a form online and had to quit and close the window.  My system got very buggy (can't remember details), flashing, then really slow.  Found a bunch of explorer.exe instances
    in Task Manager.  Ran Security Essentials and several other anti-viruses, nothing found.
    Running Win7 Pro, sp1, 64-bit, CoreI5, 4Gb Ram
    Restored system to a previous version, didn't work
    Restored last system image, didn't work
    Used System Repair Disk - ran Memory Diagnostic.  Said it would give me report after reboot.  Never saw a report after reboot. But only one instance of explorer.exe in task manager at that point.  Took disk out, rebooted normally.  After
    20 minutes or so, the multiple instances were back.
    Used Repair Disk again, ran Memory Diagnostic. Again, no report after reboot (leaving disk in machine both times), but only one instance running again.
    Did this a few times with the same result, so now leaving disk in system and always boot from it.
    Ran Security Essentials again, found that rovnix virus, removed, ran again, found it again.
    Ran search for instances and found many.  Here's an example:
    C:\Windows\explorer.exe
    C:\Windows\winsxs\wow64_microsoft-windows-explorer_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17567_none_b9fc4815c4e292b5

    C:\Windows\SysWOW64
    When I check properties on the now single one on Task Manager, this is what it shows:
    C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-explorer_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17567_none_afa79dc39081d0ba\explorer.exe
    C:\Windows\explorer.exe
    I was going to reinstall entire system, but was from an Anytime Upgrade which now says it's invalid.  Much more to story on that (calls to MS support, etc.).

  • Problem with multiple instances of shared printers being installed on client computers when the spooler service is started

    Hello,
    We have Windows Server 2012 and clients using Windows 8.  We've been having some printer problems for awhile now that I haven't been able to figure out for the life of me.  The main problem is the fact that printers are installed on computers automatically
    once the drivers are installed.  The side-effect of multiple instances of each printer showing up is very annoying but I suspect fixing the initial problem will resolve this secondary one.
    Here is the rundown:
    We add the shared printers on logon to the clients using the GPO thus installing the drivers locally.
    Whenever the spooler on the client is restarted with the drivers installed, all of the
    shared printers that were previously installed get duplicated 5 more times (for a total of 6 instances of each shared printer) on the "Devices and Printers" page.  This happens
    all the time.
    Removing them only fixes the issue temporarily, as soon as the spooler or computer is restarted, it seems these shared printers are somehow found on the network and the duplicates return.
    Two of these printers are located on different clients, installed locally and shared while the other three are all installed on a server and shared through it.  The issue is the same on all of them.
    Cleaning the spooler completely (registry and files from C:\system32\spool) fixes the issue temporarily as well since, as soon as the drivers are reinstalled, the issue occurs again.
    I've tried many things (disabling the GPO, editing the GPO, printer shares, registry, etc.) and searched tirelessly online for a cause and solution but I'm stumped.  Does anybody have any idea what might be causing this problem and how to resolve it?
    Thanks for your time!
    Update #1: I just tried adding the NoNetCrawling option in the registry found in this article -> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320138/en-us
    I couldn't find the same for Windows 8 unfortunately.  I also tried disabling network discovery and all other sharing options to no avail.
    Update #2: I tried isolating the computer to a different subnet and restarting the spooler and, sure enough, the issue didn't occur.  This proves that the issue is network share related.  Also, as soon as I change the IP back to the regular domain
    subnet one, the multiple printer instances re-appeared again.
    Update #3: I just tried doing the same thing but on the server where the printers are installed and shared and, sure enough, despite being in a different subnet, the issue occurred.  This leads me to believe there is a setting on this server at fault.
     Question is, which one?

    We have deployed a brand new Active Directory domain for a customer. ALL the servers without exception are Windows 2012 R2 and all clients are Windows 8.1 32bit VDI clients.
    The issue that we have is around network printers.
    We are deploying 4 printers  from a Windows 2012 R2 Server via the print management/Deploy Printer and assigning that to a GPO. The printers are deployed to the Computers which should mean that the users get all 4 printers which they then should be allowed
    to set their default and personal settings for that printer.
    Our printers are deployed like this:
    1. Created security group
    2. Assigned VDI computers to the security group
    3. Created GPO to reflect security group
    4. Modify GPO to do security filtering based on computer group membership
    5. Deployed 4 x printers through Print Management to the GPO on a per machine basis
    However, on the users Devices and Printers screen we are not seeing the 4 printers. For some users
    they see duplicates of all 4 printers so e.g they can have upwards of 8 or more. Other users have no printers displayed whatsoever. The next time they log off or restart they then have a different amount of printers displayed.
    If they try and set the default then it will set and the next time they check the default may have moved to another printer even without logging off or back on.
    Now, where this gets strange is within an application such as MS Word 2013 or Notepad if they use the file and print menu the printers will be listed, even if the user has no printers displayed in Devices and Printers. If the users selects a printer then they
    can then print OK.
    If we check HKCU\Printers||Connections then the CORRECT 4 printers are showing as to what is being deployed via the GPO so I know that the Windows 8.1 terminals are receiving the correct printers from the GPO.
    To try and correct this over the course of the week we have deployed the printers via Group Policy Preferences to the user and then the PC to no avail. Currently we are using the Print management\Deployed Printers to deploy all 4 printers to the computer via
    the Computer GPO.
    I believe that this issue is related to the display somehow in Devices and Printers rather than a GPO or print server issue as we can see via the registry the clients are receiving the 4 correct mentioned printers as shown in the registry.
    FYI: We only have around 30 users and all users are getting this problem. All users are receiving the same GPO's and have the same few apps installed, Office 2013, Adobe Reader etc.
    What we want is for the computers to receive all 4 printers. All users should be able to use all 4 printers but the user should be able to select their particular default, depending where they are located or what they are printing that particular day. Their
    particular default should persist after reboot. (We have 2 x Copiers and 2 x HP Laserjets) All users have redirected documents and desktop but the rest of the profile is on the VDI and persists after their reboot. The profile is not roaming as the user is
    assigned a particular VDI.
    After a week of scratching our heads with this we are open to suggestions and any would be appreciated.
    We have tried following the issues on this thread to no avail either as they still return.

  • Multiple instance of UIscrollbar problem

    Hi,
    In a project I have 10 textfields that I turn visible or insivible according to need. Some of those textfields must scroll. I used the UIscrollbar and it worked fine until I added another textfield that used it. At first, I thought it was the variable names and changed them all but it still didn't work.
    The only way I can make this work right now is by putting all my text movieclips (containing the textfieldand, scrollbar, etc) directly on stage instead of all in one container MC for all my text movieclips. That's really impractical.
    Is there any reason the UIscrollbar refuses to work in more than one instance if the MC they are in is inside the same MC?
    To explain better here's a bit of my code:
    private function createTxt():void
                   var mcEncadre:MovieClip;
                   mcEncadre = new MovieClip();
                   mcEncadre.name="txt3";
                   //mcEncadre.alpha=0;
                   zoneTxt_mc.addChild(mcEncadre);
                   creerEncadre(mcEncadre,1,668,181,0x676767,0,0);
                   txt = creerTxtfield(mcEncadre,txtExpl_arr[2],txtExpl_fmt,627,150,25,20);
                   txt.wordWrap=true;
                   var vScrollBar:UIScrollBar = new UIScrollBar();
                   vScrollBar.direction = ScrollBarDirection.VERTICAL;
                   vScrollBar.move(txt.x + txt.width, txt.y-19);
                   vScrollBar.height = txt.height+29;
                   vScrollBar.scrollTarget = txt;
                   mcEncadre.addChild(vScrollBar);
                   mcEncadre = new MovieClip();
                   mcEncadre.name="txt10";
                   //mcEncadre.alpha=0;
                   zoneTxt_mc.addChild(mcEncadre);
                   creerEncadre(mcEncadre,1,668,181,0x676767,0,0);
                   txt = creerTxtfield(mcEncadre,txtExpl_arr[9],txtExpl_fmt,627,150,25,20);
                   txt.wordWrap=true;
                   var vScrollBar2:UIScrollBar = new UIScrollBar();
                   vScrollBar2.direction = ScrollBarDirection.VERTICAL;
                   vScrollBar2.move(txt.x + txt.width, txt.y-19);
                   vScrollBar2.height = txt.height+29;
                   vScrollBar2.scrollTarget = txt;
                   mcEncadre.addChild(vScrollBar2);
                   vScrollBar.update();
                   vScrollBar2.update();
    I tried .update() and it changes nothing. With this code only the first scrollbar works but if I add the second mcEncadre directly to the stage instead of to my text container (zoneTxt_mc) then they both work. Urgh!
    Anyone encountered this before?

    A spelling or punctuation mistake, or sometimes a trailing space usually causes this after the artists and/or song/album name, which fools the iPod into thinking that there are two different artists, albums or songs. The trailing space is the hardest to spot.
    Best way to cure this is to go into iTunes, highlight that artist and/or songs/albums, right click on them and select "get info".
    This brings up the multiple song info window. If you see the "artist" field is left blank, then there is a discrepancy with that name.
    So to correct this, retype the name, as you would like it, and then click ok. You should do this even if no mistakes are immediately visible.
    Re sync this new artist/song/album info to your iPod.
    If the above is not the issue, try this also. Highlight all the songs for that artist, right click on them and select "apply sort field/same artist".
    See if that works.

  • Sync: Multiple Instance Error Causes Desktop Manager to Fail

    I can no longer sync my Outloook calendar with my Bold 9650 using Desktop Manager 6 (bundle 3084). I failed multiple times, rebooted each device and tried again but still receive the same error. Error is a message from Windows that Desktop Manager has stopped working. The last few entries in the log indicate:

    I saw an entry in the Outlook calendar related to the error, but not in the BB calendar, and deleted it but this did not resolve the problem. At this point, I cannot get DM to complete synchronization. Has anyone else experienced this and identified a resolution?
    thanks,

    Hi Eric,
    Did you manage to resolve this? I have the same error and cannot get DM to complete the sync.

  • Configuring HFM 11.1.2 with sql2008 with multiple instances.

    Hello All,
    I have installed and configured HFM against an SQL 2008 server that has more than one DB instance. So, in order for me to successfully connect to the DB instance (say for example in a UDL), I first have to put the server name and the a “\instancename”. Unfortunately, it seems that the “\instancename” doesn’t seem to be saved in the conifg utility. If I rerun the config, only the server name shows in the config. I believe that this is causing me to not be able to register the HFM cluster with Shared Services. I look in the log files (specifically the HsvEventLog.log file) and I can see in there errors that state “SQL Server does not exist or access denied”. I know that I am a DBO on this DB and that this error is exactly the same error that I get in a UDL that does not have the “\instance” when I try to connect. When I go into Shared Services deployment artifacts for HFM, I can see that it is also not saving the “\instance” name in their either. I try to export/import with the “\instance” name added in and it fails upon import stating that the servername\instance host is unreachable or does not exist. So, all of this to ask is if there is a simple fix out there that already exist on how to configure HFM if the DB has multiple instances. Thank you in advance for any help or information that you are able to provide.

    I think you would need to file a support call for us to take a look. Something is amiss here. You have 2 OHS running. Are they on 2 different boxes using the same shared service? How are these 2 OHS controlled? Do you have a load balancer in front of it?
    Run the epmsys_registry.bat and look at the output. Search for CALC_LWA (LOGICAL_WEB_APP). Look at the children of that. How many CALC_WEBAPP do you see?
    Based on that I can tell if it is a problem with the configuration.
    In the meantime,
    If you can get to the exploded directory of CALC manager, (On my Windows box it is C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\CalcMgr0\tmp\servers\CalcMgr0\tmp\_WL_user\CALC_11.1.2.0\qxf61x\war), edit CalcMgrConfig.properties under WEB-INF\conf
    Add the following line to the end:
    DATABASE_CACHE_CLUSTER=true
    Now save the file and REPEAT the same for the other instances of CALC manager.
    Now restart all CALC servers and see if the issue is resolved (just a temporary check to see if it working without any issues)

  • Contribute multiple instances of the same connection appear on login/start screen

    I am administering a series of sub-websites under one primary umbrella.
    - The Primary Umbrella site does not run under the Contribute Publishing Server
    - The secondary (child) sites are managed by the Contribute Publishing Server
    - We recently added a user to several of these subsites
    - After we added the user, we've had a problem with other user profiles.
    - Multiple instances of the same connection will appear upon login on the start screen ( about:startscreen ). However the user seems to only be able to credential to one of them, not both.
    I have gone into the user profile directory within Windows directory structure and removed both site dirs. However when restarting and reconnecting, both appear again.
    Anyone else have this issue and what is the remedy and fix?

    I tried to add a screenshot, however it would not let me upload.
    I get: An error occurred while trying to submit your post. Please try again.

  • Is there a way of preventing multiple instances?

    Note that I AM NOT asking about "tab vs. window" behavior when following links, which is what a search on "multiple instances" seems to bring up.
    I would just prefer a different behavior when firefox is started from a Windows shortcut. I sometimes forget to glance at the taskbar first, and don't notice that I already have a minimized instance of firefox running, want to browse something, and either doubleclick the desktop icon, or use the start menu. This winds up with two instances of firefox, which I start collecting two separate sets of tabs in, until I notice that I have two of them, usually when I want to refer back to a page I know I opened half an hour ago.
    I would prefer a behavior similar to Thunderbird. If it's already running when you start it, it simply unminimizes the running instance. I would even prefer a simple message that simply says "Firefox is already running", similar to some other applications I use.
    I realize that there are perfectly valid reasons why many people might want multiple firefox instances, but I don't. I can't find an option for controlling this. If it doesn't exist, I would like to suggest that it should have one.

    If it got doubled due to some action, just sort your library by "Date Added," and the extra ones will be together on the time/date of the action, all in a row. Highlight the first that you want to get rid of, hold shift and click the last one. Then delete.
